So I know how comparing weapons/armor works for the most part, but there’s just one thing I can’t figure out.
As an example, I have a staff equipped on my elementalist. When I hover over a scepter, it compares the two and both of their damage are highlighted in green. Why is that?
My scepter is 367-414, but the staff is 284-321. Why is it showing green for my staff? I thought it only showed green if it was better than the one it’s compared with.
Furthermore, if I equip the scepter and hover over the staff, now the staff shows in red, while the scepter is still green.
Can anyone fill me in on this?
So I’m new to crafting and I used a guide to get me to level 400. Well, sort of. I’m at level 393 now and I can’t figure out how to get higher. I followed the instructions carefully and even did the extra Imbued Inscription crafting (Assassins, Berserkers, etc.) and this is how far I got.
I’d love some help with this!
So in the last three years of playing this game, I have never once played an Engi. While I did really love their turrets, I kept away from the profession.
Now I’m really starting to get into the engi and I was excited for the turrets still, only to find out that a lot of people don’t use them?
Why is that?
And are there still some good uses for them?
Well I don’t hit the F2 until my wolf is up next to, attacking his target. The blind never gets put on them, like I said, but the Taunt does happen. And how would Wilting be the only one tied to it? The others should still be activated by using their ability.
Thanks for the replies!
So I’ve been playing since release and I just now started getting into playing a ranger. So I made a female norn and started her with the Alpine Wolf. I used a scroll to level her to 30 and I started putting in my traits.
With the Alpine Wolf’s ability “Chilling Howl” it will “Howl at foes to chill them.”
So when picking my traits I wanted to have “Go For The Eyes,” “Wilting Strike,” and “Beastly Warden.” Which would not only have my wolf chill the target with it’s ability, but it would also taunt, blind, and apply weaakness on them. I thought it’d be great!
But now, when using it, it sometimes only applies chill and weakness, other times it might also taunt, and I’ve only got it to cause blindness once so far.
Why is this happening? Is it just a bug?
So I just have two questions about the story line. I’ve been playing since launch and have yet to pay attention to the story, and this play-through I’m actually really getting into. Anyway, I just have a few questions because I feel like I missed a few things.
****SPOILERS****
Why did Trahearne and the main character get so upset over Tonn’s death? Sure his death itself was sad, but they acted like he had been with the pact for sooooo long, when really I felt like he was only in a few episodes of the story. (Please correct me if I’m wrong, I might have overlooked something.) But they said he was my “partner” yet I didn’t see him more than I saw my mentor.
And for my other question, after the Pact discovers the new temple underneath the water in Orr, Trahearne puts in his “favor” from Sayeh, the largos. Anyway, by how Trahearne speaks of her, he makes it sound like “she’s the only one that can do this job” but isn’t she only helping to explore an underwater dungeon? I feel like, since the largos don’t meet with land-walkers much, Trahearne would call in for a better favor than dungeon-exploring.
I just feel like I missed something in both those scenarios. Thanks!
So I posted a similar post to this one earlier while I was on my way to class and didn’t give much info, so I’ just reposting.
I’ve been playing since the original Guild Wars release and since the release of GW2, I haven’t had a guild. I mean, I’ve had two or three, but they became inactive within a week or two. When I used to play the original Guild Wars, I was in a guild for 2 years and really enjoyed getting to play with a good-sized group of people on a regular basis.
I’m on NA, Tarnished Coast, I’m more PvE, but I’d love a guild that ha a hand in PvP too, because I have barely played it since the release. Like I said, I have been playing GW2 since release, but for the last year I was an on-and-off-again player. Now I’m back to playing Guild Wars 2 on a daily basis, so I’m looking for a good guild to hang out with!
So I’m at level 60 with my Revenant, just got HoT, and I cannot figure out a decent way to use the staff or the Legendary assassin stance. By this, I mean I feel like the staff is powerless and the Legendary Assassin Stance is only good for the elite and Impossible Odds.
Can anyone give advice on the best way to use both of these? Detailed descriptions would be wonderful!
Thanks all!
Thanks so much guys!
So it says that it comes in collections? I’m sorry, I have been an on-and-off player since the release of the game, but I can’t figure out what it means on the wiki when it says “unlocked through collections.”
Any detailed info on how to get the armor would be amazing!
So is it confirmed that the Crimson Mask skin ISN’T in this update? I can’t find any infor about it online other than the chat code.
Very active couple looking for a friendly, active PVE guild. We mainly do dungeons, some fractals, and area maps. We have been playing since the game came out and we are just looking for a friendly guild to call our home! Must be LGBT friendly as well though, we are a gay couple. We are on tarnished coast and on the East coast so we are mainly on between the hours of 6pm-12am EST. Message me, Alvairra, or Benjamin Dark in game too.
We have welcomed many members, including our two Council Members, Chuck Norris & Nivra
My boyfriend and I have recently decided to start a guild and are looking to recruit some more players. We are currently a medium sized guild, with about 20 members after a guild we merged with finally finishes moving over. We currently have a vent server that we mainly dedicate for dungeons because it can only hold 5 people at a time, but we will be upgrading that soon. We can promise a few core features and events that will be held as the guild grows it’s numbers.
With the guild we hope to achieve a few things:
1) We hope to create a place where newcomers and veterans alike can feel free to speak their minds, ask questions as much as needed, go on rants, seek help, and generally just have a good time.
2) We will keep an active guild and make sure to get everyone involved so that some don’t feel as left out as others. This includes starting second or even third parties if someone is left out of a dungeon or activity.
3) Make it easy for players to find groups. We hope to create a family that is well established and knowledgeable in many areas so questions don’t go unanswered and we hope to help players with quests or missions they need help on whether it be an easy level 14 mission, or a level 20 Fractals run.
4) We can’t stress enough that we will make this a judgment free zone, opening up the guild to all types of levels and to those who may have only been playing a day or two.
5) We hope to make accomplishments a bigger part of our guild as well, I mean, who doesn’t love that? So with our guild’s ranking system, we hope to promote players for their good deeds, helpful attitude, and just generally being a positive part of the guild’s family.
Now you may be asking, what KIND of guild are we looking to establish?
1) We are focusing the guild more around a PvE playing style, but again, we will allow anyone in, and we may plan a few PvP or WvW events.
2) With our PvE mindset, we hope to also delve into the dungeons with guild members, this includes Fractals as well.
3) Hopefully we can garner enough attention to the guild that we can start doing guild missions together as well, increasing our influence and bringing in more and more rewards for the guild in general.
4) Not only will we be planning on helping guild members with dungeons and Fractals, but also teaching guild members how to do each dungeon and Fractals as needed. Including, what gear will you need, what kind of skills are the best, etc, etc.
5) We will also help out where we can if a guild member needs help with materials, collectible items, etc.
If you’re looking for just a generally open guild and a helpful, active place to be, why not take a chance on us and become a part of an expanding guild that could potentially be your new home?
Any questions, please, message myself, Illyana Lockheart, or Benjamin Dark (co-leader) in game or post below here. Happy hunting!
I really want to join a Guild that delves in a little bit of everything, but most importantly I want a guild that does PVE, dungeons, has vent, and is very active. I am on a great deal of time, normally taking off a whole day once a week and I always make sure to check in on what my guild is doing, and love participating in guild events/activities. Any guilds like this, I’d love to join!
Okay, well I can’t change the language to the game because it doesn’t appear in the 0kb installer and my system specs are
Intel® Core™ i7-3615QM CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.79 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
I’m not exactly sure of my graphics card, I am fairly certain I just have an Intel one…nothing special.
So I have been playing GW2 since September on a brand new computer that I bought specifically for this game. I upgraded to Windows 8 in December and had some problems at first, but ultimately resolved them and the game actually began to run better. I ran Guild Wars 2 at the highest graphics settings as possible and the game ran amazingly.
Now, I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 preview and SOMETIMES I start the downloader and the game will download some stuff, the window will close and a new window will pop up and show “Downloading 0kb (0kb/sec)” and it won’t do anything after that. I know its not my graphics card, because as shown above, it worked flawlessly before.
Any help on this?
P.S. I also tried uninstalling the game, but when I click to uninstall it, the “Downloading 0kb (0kb/sec)” pops up every time.
Please! I just want to continue playing this game!
I’m just asking because, while I could go back and play MORE of the original GW, I was wondering if anyone knows if they have plans to let some of the non-GW1 players, or those who didn’t fill their HOM to ever get these items/upgrades/bonuses.
Any help/info is appreciated
I feel stupid now. LOL! Thanks guys!
Okay…so I want the rune: Superios Rune of Nightmares, that comes with the armor for Twilight Arbor. My question is, can I SALVAGE that rune from the armor pieces and use it on different armor? Or will I have to transmute it to get the rune on my other armor?
I am asking because I want the Rune of Nightmares on my Tactical armor for my Necromancer.
Can you use it with like regular armor? I saw someone riding around with Draconic (I think I spelt that right) armor on.
9/10
LOVE the name! It would have been a 10/10 if it was say a Human or Asuran. I just feel like it fits them more.
My Sylvari Necromancer’s name is Alvairra.
One more question…can I buy light armor from Order of Whispers, with a Heavy Armor user, and THEN do the transmuting?
Or do I have to level up a light armor toon to get it?
I really badly want the Order of Whispers armor on my Necromancer, but I chose the vigil instead
Is there any way for me to switch orders?
OR
Is there any way I can still get the armor for her?
Any idea what it could be?
I have been reading on the forums that there used to be a way to transmute a soulbound item to a white or blue item, then putting it in your bank, an after acquiring it from your bank on ANOTHER character, you could then transmute again in order to get a certain item skin on a character that didn’t originally have it.
I am just wondering…does this method to transfer soulbound skins still work after the last updates?

For the feet http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Brencis_QuickbloodFor each of these NPC’s complete their heart, then go and talk to them and you can purchase the armor for karma. Hope that helps.
bows down Thank you!
Hey guys! I am still a little confused :-/ How do I get this armor? I keep seeing everywhere that I get it from Karma merchants in Fireheart Rise. Is that true? I saw on GW2Wiki that the armors the karma merchants offer are part of the PVP Dark Armor? But I am looking for the PVE Version of the Tactical Armor.
I believe they meant renown hearts. When you finish a renown heart the renown heart NPC (located as the actual heart on the map) has a variety of items you can buy for karma. Usually armor and weapons or accessories. Fireheart rise renown hearts give the tactical gear.
So do I not actually have to BUY the armor with Karma? I just have to finish the hearts and get the gear for free? That doesn’t make sense of how I pick light armor or not.

Hi, (I hope I’m posting in the right area) I am trying to find out what this armor is in the attachment below. I have been looking for a while now and just decided to post on here. I saw this picture in the “Show your Necromancer” forums and I tried to contact the person who posted this picture, but with no luck.
I just wanna know what the armor skin is (I know the mask is the starting necromancer paint) and what the staff skin is if possible. Thanks for all your help!
