I have a 27 inch iMac with two monitors mounted vertically on either side of my imac screen. On the PC version I can just stretch the windowed mode window to be whatever side I want it, but on the mac client I have no such option? Am I missing it or is this not a feature that is available at this time?
YES YES YES YES YES. I love that sword but I couldn’t even finish watching the youtube video that sound was so annoying. I couldn’t imagine playing with it constantly.
Can someone tell me if you will be banned for using a 3rd party plugin that allows a change in FOV. I hate not being able to play because it makes me nauseous and dizzy for the rest of the day!
I just wanted to share with everyone my awesome PVP experience tonight. And just a headsup, I admit I SUCK at PVP, so this may just be exciting for me.
I’m using the single target burst build as laid out so graciously by Nemesis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6OeKsIh2Gw) along with the new Blood is Power (love it for 10 stack of might) and Well of Darkness (aoe blind), Corrupt Boon (turn all boons to conditions) and Lich Form for elite. The goal of my build is to use traits and Blood is power to maximize the amount of Might and Vulnerability I can stack on myself and my opponents.
So what happened:
I was on Forest of Nihfel playing random sPVP games with my necro (Hexiz on Darkhaven look me up). I was running up the stairs to the Keep capture point when I happen upon 4 enemy players wailing on a single Guardian from my team. He goes down before I can get there, but as soon as two of the blue team players begin the animation for the kill stomp, I lay down a fear mark, and they know it’s on.
I ran up and begin to revive my Guardian friend before my fear runs out, but soon all 4 of the blue team are headed straight toward me. I stop reviving the Guardian and lay down a well of darkness, blinding all 4 of them and begin to heal again, this gives me a few more seconds before their attacks begin to hit. Right as the well ends the Guardian casts his group aoe knock back ability (don’t know what it’s called) and everybody flies backward and before they can get back to us, the Guardian is up and casting buffs and heals on both of us. I slip into death shroud and begin to stack vulnerability with life blast and I begin my plauge blast, followed by a fear, dropped ds, cast blood is power on the nearest enemy, cast Lich Form etc etc etc. We ended up taking down all 4 of them and retaking the Keep for the Red team!
Anyway, that’s my BEST necro PVP experience. I was wondering what kind of awesome PVP experience everyone else has had with their necro?
I LOVE the change.
I do think it’s kind of weird that it’s on a utility skill that mainly focuses on bleeds. Nevertheless the extra might is greatly appreciated. The only other way for us to stack might effectively is with the trait that stacks might when you use signets.
I didn’t even know there was a max of 5, I’ve never seen more than 1 at a time climb up out of the ground and then fall over.
You kidding me? 50 seconds of +33% is a nerf (10 sec warhorn, 30 sec spec walk, 10 sec warhorn)? How so?
I kitten love the new spectral walk. Makes it actually useful, since the old one didn’t teleport back up a cliff/WvW castle wall. And the old functionality is still there, but this time you don’t get vulnerability… seriously…. how is this a nerf? And now it breaks stun, which makes it a little easier to survive in WvW… seriously… nerf??
While I agree that the ability is better now than it was before, it has never worked on cliffs or castle walls or any vertical situation for me. Has it for you??
So you want to go back to NOT having a stun break and to having to wait on a timer to warp you back to the start point? You call this patch a nerf!?
I don’t know in what world you live, but it aint Tyria. This was a great patch. I just wish the stun break weren’t bugged. It still doesn’t always work.
Also I wish the skill were a teleport not a blink because you can’t use it in any vertical situation.
Unless you want to be outDPSed by your Flesh Golem, yeah, pick dagger. Its just autoattack though. I’d say staff outperforms dagger on multiple targets.
Depending on how you’re specced this may not be a good idea though. You have to basically be in melee range to use dagger, which can be risky.
Nevermind about this thread guys. I just read the bugs thread and it is bugged. There is a 3-5 second delay before you get the bonus.
Not sure if this has been reported yet, but Spectral Wall and Putrid Mark do not seem to be working together.
I tested this multiple times. I would lay down a Spectral Wall on top of an enemy and immediately after lay down a Putrid Mark directly on top of the enemy and the Spectral Wall. The mark would activate, but the blast finisher would not grant me or my minions the Chaos armor bonus.
Further more, when I explode my bone minion inside the walls boundaries, the blast finisher is activated and me and my minions are granted chaos armor. So this could possibly just be a problem with Putrid Mark and Spectral Wall not jiving together?
Putrid Mark has to be triggered and detonated to get its blast finisher effect. Did this happen, or did you just place the mark?
I wish placing any mark would change the skill and give us the option to detonate it at will, much like several other spells in the game(Bone Minion comes to mind), especially if they are going to put a finisher on it; it is inconsistent and depressing otherwise.
I agree, changing the skill to a detonate skill once the mark is placed would be awesome, especially for Putrid Mark.
Here’s how I tested it. I was fighting some Skale in Diessa Plateau. I would get the skale to come attack me, I would place the Spectral wall down directly in front of me and then once the skale was in front of me (standing inside the spectral wall’s boundaries) I would place a Putrid Mark right on top of the Skale inside the Spectral Wall. The Mark would explode, but no combo ever occurred. Though, whenever I detonated my bone minion inside the wall (a difficult skill to master since the wall’s boundaries are so small and the bone minions are so fast), the combo finisher worked perfectly and myself and all my minions got Chaos Armor.
Like I said, perhaps this is how they intend it to work, I just don’t understand the logic behind one blast finisher working and another not working unless its bugged.
I cannot for some reason reply to the bugs thread, but I was wondering if this is by design and maybe I am missing something?
If I lay down a spectral wall, then place a putrid mark on top of it, the spectral combo does not occur. On the other hand if I blow up one of my bone minions on the spectral wall, I get the spectral buff.
Is the combo not intended to work with Putrid Mark or is this something to do with where the enemy is when the putrid mark is activated?
I agree with the OP, Charr storyline is fantastic.
Asura storyline is pretty good as well. I love the voice acting for Zoja.
I really appreciate your optimism about the necromancer.
I would feel more reassure if I hadn’t just seen this…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Fury-and-Retaliation-Boon-icon-looks-too-similar/first#post219166
They apparently care more about giving us IMMEDIATE info icons that look too similar, but nothing on A WHOLE ENTIRE PORTION OF THE GAME.
I am extremely disappointed with ANET right now.
Props to the OP for speaking the truth. We have a list of Necromancer bugs stickied on the necro forum. It’s reached over 100 bugs at the moment.
The balancing in GW2 is SO sad. I really hope necros don’t get the Paragon treatment from GW1….
We were promised that every profession in the game would be able to be played the way WE wanted it. The three roles that have taken over the holy trinity are “Control, Damage and Support”, which we WERE TOLD any class could spec into any role.
The necro cannot spec into ANY of these roles and be competitive with any other profession. Every other class has better Damage skills, Control skills and support skills.
PLEASE fix the necro!
Brilliant. I love the premise and I love the first two suggestions. But a damage cap would be awful.
I thought the same thing about the number of mobs in dungeons. It seems to be 3 or 4 VERY strong enemies as opposed to waves of not so strong enemies. Personally I don’t think it’s very fun to sit and group attack a single mob for 3 or 4 minutes. There’s no fun factor there.
I really like this idea. The necro is plauged by being the least customizable profession in the game. There are like 2 viable builds out there.
The necro needs some love Anet
LOL You are SO wrong. If you don’t notice the difference between a level 80 and a level 50 you need to go back to WoW. SERIOUSLY, the dynamic leveling is genius.
Just because you can’t run around a starting zone and gank every creature doesn’t mean you have to get all butt hurt about an AMAZING system.
I have an aesthetic suggestion/request.
I LOVE my necromancer even with the amount of bugged skills mentioned in this post.
But I’ve noticed that several of my skills have animations that seem to recycle other animations, more so than any other class that I’ve seen. For example, the Guardian’s skills all look extremely unique from one another, even the ones that have similar effects. Below are the skills that re-use the same animation.
Fang Animation Skills
Axe
Unholy Feast
Scepter
Feast of Corruption
Dagger MH
Necrotic Bite
Trident
Feast
Claw Animation Skills
Death Shroud
Dark Path
Staff
Necrotic Grasp
Utility
Spectral Grasp
Lich Form
Deathly Claws
I know it’s not that big of a deal, but I would LOVE if my skills offered more diversity. I think that is one reason people have not been rolling Necro as much.
