Tl;dr:
A general question regarding GW2’s long term viability followed by vague statements regarding the use of its initial profits.
A claim of “research”, followed by a blatantly false statement regarding NCsoft.
An observation passed off as a fact, followed by personal opinions on the selection of items in the gem store.
Several generalizations of the “community” and “people.”
A hypothetical situation based on more assumptions and personal experience.
Criticism of a single event with no mention of other events, and another generalization based on personal experience.
A conclusion based on a prediction, followed by an inability to accept criticism.

I just rolled back to a clean install of 306.97 and the lighting problem in the citadel persists.
There is a similar thread here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Problems-after-the-latest-patch/first#post1152186
In which someone claims to have a similar problem with an ATI card and Mrowqa.3861 seems very insistent that this is merely a lighting bug and that it has nothing to do with graphics cards or drivers.
Same exact problem, noticed today with a GTX 560 Ti on 310.90 drivers. I have not tried rolling back, yet.
I just had my entire party kicked to LA towards the end of Jade Maw. One minute the fight was progressing normally, the next we all get the loading screen for LA and then LA itself.
After working towards that point for over an hour, it was very frustrating to say the least.
Troll noises.
Sigh.. Look, Ser Eddard . If you just publicly confess your treason then we’ll let you live out the rest of your days on the wall. What’s the worst that could happen?

I give a kitten about underwater combat. These were probably fixes long in the works and they tossed them in with the holiday patch.
Amazes me how they fix something and people still complain.
Thank you.
Personally, I had a great time during today’s final event. The entire chain lasted 2.5 hours on my overflow and while we had our own difficulties and set backs, the finale and reward made it well worth the effort. Additionally, I experienced minimum graphical lag and almost no server lag throughout the session – a huge improvement on Friday’s event.
Given the size of this event and the fact that it was the first of its kind, I think the team did a tremendous job.
That said, it’s evident that experiences differed. And it is becoming clear that the relatively few players that were unhappy with this event will be much more vocal here than those who, like myself, really enjoyed themselves.
“The patch will introduce ascended items. Ascended armors are slightly more powerful than exotics.”
i’m leaving this game
bye
Great idea! Let’s all assume that by “slightly” they mean “incredibly” and then run to the forums and complain about the end of Tyria as we know it.
Or we could wait to see the full details and then offer constructive feedback…
There’s also a warning sign on the beach below the diving rock in LA that I can’t find any prior reference to. It has a picture of a guy running away from something and a lot of New Krytan on it.

How is it that every thread on the front page of this subforum has gotten a dev response in the past 24 hours except this one?
Edit: Don’t get me wrong – it’s lovely to see so much feedback from the devs and Gaile especially, but I do think that we’ve been rather patient and it would be nice to know when/if this problem will be resolved.

Received today after updating my ticket, as requested, 7 days after the original response:

Hey Juris Doctor,We are in the process of investigating this issue for you and you should receive an update as soon as we have more information to provide. We may need more time if you contacted us on a weekend or holiday, but someone will respond to this support ticket as soon as possible.
Regards,
[GM] Balmungskies
The Guild Wars Support Team
But please note that we are unable to guarantee that your items will arrive, or that your gold will be refunded due to these issues, as the data may be lost.
Regards,
GM Onyx
Items and Gold are never lost.
So who do we believe?
This needs to be on the first page until we get a proper response from the bltc team.
So, for now, go find something else to do. Come back in a few months if you can remember to. Log in occasionally and chill out in the world. Care? Bad idea.
No! You’re not the boss of me! [/drama]
Instead, I’ll continue to play a game that has been exactly what I feel was promised, and so much more – a game that I am enjoying more with each newly discovered vista and jumping puzzle. I’ll cheer on the developers as they continue to improve on an amazing foundation and I’ll eagerly continue to take part in this living world and its community.
Also, if the fact that other people are botting is having a negative impact on your enjoyment of the game to the point that you can’t play it anymore, then you’re doing it wrong.

Hi there,Thanks for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team.
There were some cases where purchases were successfully made, but the delivery of the gems was delayed. This was due to stress on our system due to the volume of traffic. We are taking steps to prevent the issue in the future so you hopefully you won’t run into this again. In the meantime, we are actively looking into these hanging purchases and resolving them within a few days. It appears that this is taking a bit longer than we had originally thought, so your particular transaction may still be pending the refund. That said you should be receiving your gems or your gold refunded to you soon. If you have not received your gems back within 7 days, please let us know so that we may investigate your issue further.
Again we are very sorry that you encountered this issue at all, but I hope this message has helped. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to let us know about them as well. Thanks so much for your time and understanding while we work on resolving this issue for you.
Cheers!
Tina

Daily Update: This is still a problem.
Still no exchanged gems or gold (Support Ticket #120920-004967).
It would be nice to hear from someone on whether this issue is being addressed and if we can expect to get our items, gems, or gold returned.
This is the worst case scenario way in which these types of incidents should be handled: http://i.imgur.com/83lWz.jpg
Daily Update: This is still a problem.
If https://twitter.com/GuildWars2/status/249391711002955777 is going to be Anet’s official response to this issue, then I think Mark Martin’s question re: whether or not Anet plans to address how to prevent this loss in the future is especially important and deserves and answer.
At this point it’s difficult to have confidence in a company that is not only unable to prevent its players from losing hours upon hours of progress, but is also unwilling to do something to fix the situation – regardless of how sincerely it apologizes.
Gaile is obviously trying to help, so please try to refrain from attacking her or the devs.
The best course of action at this point it do what she suggests and then simply post back here with whether or not those steps worked for you. I’m sure that once she is confident that there is legitimate problem she will take the best course of action to get it solved in a timely manner.
On that note, Gaile, I did what you asked and I’m still missing the gems that I tried to exchange just prior to the TP going down, as well as the gold that I attempted to use for that exchange.
Still missing gold/gems, and no word from support nor an update from any of the dev’s on the forum.

If the response is actually going to be: “Unfortunately, the Guild Wars Support Team is unable to provide items that were not received or lost due to in-game bugs," then it would be nice to know when we can expect these bugs to occur. Otherwise, I would expect a warning on TP that precedes every transaction and warns of this slot-machine mechanic where every click is a gamble.

Still no exchanged gems or gold (Incident: 120920-004967).
It would be nice to hear from Gaile on whether the “live team is on the case” as she stated on page 1 or if all of these very similar stories are still being attributed to “hacking.”
Missing 1.5g after attempting to exchange it for gems last night and failing. No gems and no gold.
2. Using the portal gun to go inside keeps.
I’ll assume that you’re talking about the mesmer utility that was recently used to portal a group into Stonemist without destroying a single wall or gate.
What happened was that after Stonemist flipped, the winning team failed to clear it out. A mesmer from the losing team was able to hide out and wait until his server had regrouped outside. The mesmer then set up an exit portal inside Stonemist and then jumped outside and put the entrance down, allowing his server to ninja inside and retake the castle.
In my opinion, this is exactly how this skill is supposed to be used and if your team allows it to happen by not clearing out the castle then you deserve to have it taken from you.
Counterpoint: Guild Wars 2 likely has around 1500 different dynamic events, suggesting that the number of events is extremely high.
Also, Aurora Glade and Whiteside Ridge are EU servers within the same region, but it doesn’t matter because dynamic events are not unique to certain servers, aside from when they start.

The best thing to do right now to is simply report it when you see it (by right-clicking on the name and selecting “Report”) and then block that user (the same way) so you never see the same spammer twice.
I’m sure we’ll start to see less of this once Anet has taken care of the more important problems.
Sound beeping, then game crash in mass WvW situations.

Same problem. Happened while taking Stonemist.
