The reason TC and Maguuma are doing so poorly is that many of their guilds transfer to other servers.
This is False they have a server full of people that can take the fight to BG. They are tanking and have had guild leaders clearing stating this from Maguuma.
Why is it happening.
- They are bored in Teir 1
- They want to drop to Teir 2
- And if they don’t drop then they are looking to be merged with another server in order to faceroll BG.
The main wvw guilds are still on Maguuma, and simply are not logging.
It’s reset, Map queues will not happen every day
I have 2 manned keep lords when we have made our way in and no one else is around in the keep.
But I do agree that scaling is an issue. For example, we have a 40 man group on a keep lord, and we have another server with the same or more numbers, I don’t have an issue with that.
BUT I do have an issue with the fact that if a 3rd server with 30 people are in there, even if they are not even near the lord but sitting just within the keep watching, it nearly makes it impossible to take down a lord when it scales to 3 servers in the keep.
The new maps are not working. The Developers listened to all the wrong people about what was apparently wrong with the game.
They gave all those loud mouths what they wanted. And then those loud mouths cried about the changes and ended up leaving the game any way.
While the people that were logging in and playing were left with these stupid changes to wvw maps that are now ghost towns.
People cried about the blobs, but blobs bought people into the game in numbers, now there are few blobs and the maps and game in wvw is just about dead.
Change it back to Friday (Saturday for us Aussies) and stop the slow death of this game.
The new maps even on Teir 1 servers simply don’t work. Commanders and guilds don’t care about them, EBG is the only place where any action is actually happening.
Commanders don’t want to PVD empty maps.
The game is doomed, less and less people are forming up for wvw now.
You now have long term wvw players not playing anymore.
It’s a lessen that Anet will learn the hard way by loss of player base, you DO NOT make a massive change like this, untested, and expect things to fall in place.
I said it from the start of the beta, it does not matter how pretty the maps are, or how cool things may look or act.
I am from BG (teir 1 wvw masters) and have played wvw since GW2 was released.
Conclusion : Anet you have killed wvw with these new maps, they simply do not work and were never going to work for the server populations.
I have little to no intention of playing wvw everyday for hours like I used too, I doubt I will be even bothering going along to our guild runs.
I got a portal and no slot, looks like I miss out. Pretty poor form Anet, promising people things and never providing. I never even got any email or details telling me about when it was, I was told only from my guildies

The failure of the system was that TC, JQ and SOS never played each other, and it would of stopped the ludicrous situation of SOS finishing this tournament second. Because in all reality SOS would of finished third to those servers in that round and never have got that 2nd first place on T2 that pushed them ahead of JQ and TC.
And it’s insane that SOS finishes second, when they are not capable of ever beating BG, TC and JQ, and never did in this tournament.

Anyway, the final result shows how ridiculous this plus the extra point for 3rd place is. SoS gets 2nd place for no other reason than they got more easier matches, despite the fact they lost every match that put them against TC or JQ.
Does it really matter when the rewards were tokens after each week, and SOS 2nd ranking did not affect that. No one with any common sense is going to think SOS did better than TC and JQ.
The Silly thing is a good match up would of been JQ, TC and SOS, and it never happened.
I use and come up against Disablers all the time. All that needs to happen to it is to introduce Diminishing returns.
If a large group attacks something and your zerg float is not on the way, then the tower will fall. Many times you use it once, and because a tower is upgrading their is no supply to use another one.
Sure it now puts a stop to smaller havoc groups that happen to come across something that is scouted. which is not all to often unless its T3.
The disablers are fine, add diminishing returns and they will be perfect.
For example, I have disabled and tried to defend a T1 keep with disablers and a Superior arrow cart on the door. They just attack the door, stack, heal, hit the door with weapons and it falls, even with the disabler.
Lol, then you don’t know Blackgate at all.
Blackgate is full of scouts, I think the only zergs that actually happen would be on EB, which is basically a Zerg only Map.
The reason the other maps may feel like a zerg, is because when you attack one of our T3 towers or keeps, you are going to feel the full force of our float team to take out the offensive. All of which comes from scout reports.
I do plenty of scouting on Blackgate (#BEASTGATE) on our home Borderland, I will spend hours upgrading all the camps, especially the north ones, and defending and flipping any of the South camps that usually get flipped for no other reason then the other servers want a quick flip of something on our borderland.
When we need to supply hills and Bay, camps will be protected and yaks protected. If you want to win, and perform well it is something that simply needs to be done. Most guilds on blackgate know this.
The order I use is upgrade for supply increase, then guards for supply, then guard strength, then more guards.
Unless we need supply for repair or an attack, then if we flip a camp, no one in our group will take supply, and an upgrade is ordered. If your point of flipping a camp is to take supply and leave, then your already lost.
Getting a way point on SMC for example is not common, and during the tournament we have done this many times. You need commanders and guilds with the mentality to make it happen. not just talk about it in map chat.

Final week has been pretty boring so far. There were some good fights on the rare occasion, But I think the other 2 servers this week have given up, especially in the NA and Oceanic timeslot. I am struggling for fights.
#BEASTGATE
There is no incentives for people to leave top servers even if they wanted to try and give balance. Main issue being the cost of transfer.
All servers should have free transfers to any server that is lower in population to your own, or if they are ranked lower than you in the wvw rankings.
Or better still scrap the transfer cost, it is only there as a way to make revenue. They took this from Warcraft, when in reality there is little to no man power involved in making a transfer.
Actually more effort is needed to buy the gems and pay for the transfer.
As a BG player, I really do not think it has to do with numbers when playing against TC and JQ, Just because our server is always full, does not mean all those players are PVP/WVW players, many are PVE players. You do not know the number of times our server is out numbered in WVW.
We have defended our Garrison for example with full blob TC and JQ inside, and even with them putting up Arrow carts. And driven them out. how…………….. What Blackgate does do the best is our Teamspeak community and organization. As well as excetpional guilds and players.
