Bullkitten. “Shifted rewards from dungeons to fractals AND raids.” What fractal rewards? All the rewards that fractals used to give have been reduced by a factor of 10 instead of increased.

Tbh, I don’t see why it would be an exploit. The event is labeled as “bonus event”, so it implies that it is not necesssary to finish it.
If Anet doesn’t want people to do this, they have to fix it and remove the “bonus” from it. Banning people for this would be insanely weird.Really? You don’t see why it would be an exploit? You don’t think that jumping into a pit in a very specific place which then downs you all to skip past a bridge which has not been raised isn’t an exploit?
And what’s this? If you kill the monsters the bridge raises? Oh my! But no. It says bonus event. That means you don’t have to do it. Even though it’s the only legitimate way to raise the bridge.
That’s Like me saying, “Oh no, look at those big scary monsters! Maybe if I kill myself I won’t have to fight them.”
Banning people for this wouldn’t be insanely weird. I think they definitely have the grounds to do it. Especially those who have done hundreds and hundreds of runs. Do I think they will? Probably not. People have gotten away with much worse.
“Very specific place”? You literally just jump off of the bridge. There’s nothing specific about it. Molten duo is a boss fight, just like Jade Maw. How is this any different than skipping Jade Maw trash?
Nobody ever said that this would be a cheaper way to obtain a precursor. Instead, you’re able to work towards it slowly and actually see progress instead of just throwing 1000g at the TP and getting the precursor.
So, no source, as in you don’t know if it’s a bug or the drop rate was deliberately changed.
If it was a bug that they were working on a fix for, there would be some acknowledgement by now. Judging by their lack of response, they intentionally made this change and are hiding from us because they know how kittened off we are.
You can get some fragments in daily dungeon rewards. Or visit mini dungeons.

Not only does this not answer his question, nobody does dungeons anymore so it’s bad advice.
So what does the personal reward do again?
It’s the maximum level fractal that you can personally open. It may decide drops within the fractal, as well (eg. vials/globs/shards of mist).
Precursor crafting was not meant to be cheaper or faster than buying it off the TP. It was meant to break the process down into pieces rather than just save 1000g and buy it. Now, people who would likely never save 1000g can work on the collection slowly and eventually make their way to the legendary.
Yeah im kind of regretting not doing more fracs before HoT now. I was hoping the rewards would be better so i could gear my alts for raids with fractals after HoT released. With the assumption i would be more appropriately rewarded for my time.

And if not that i was hoping dragonite would be abundant in the jungle so i could craft if i needed to. I assume it is if you do the world bosses (havent done these yet).
Dragonite needs to awarded in fracs. And did they nerf emp fragment reward in fracs as well by the way?
It certainly feels like you get much less emp frags from fractals. I think they just cut the droprates for everything with a huge axe and added tons of nothing to it in order to bloat the drop tables.
I’ve been trying to finish my first ascended set (made my character 23 days ago), and I’m just missing chest, legs, and 1 accessory. Empyreal fragments are what is slowing me down since nobody runs dungeons anymore. And now, I’ll have to farm at least 900 more instead of 700 more because i need to craft kitten gear to salvage in order to complete the backpack collection, because kitten ascended gear no longer drops.
Just join any group, don’t even tell them it’s your first time and do what they do.
Now you can choose fractals so just watch a youtube video. Not a big deal..,

I’m going to piggy back on this… to attune a ring, you need an agonized essence, sold by “dessa’s krew” according to the wiki. I’ve unlocked all my fractal masteries, but nobody is selling this agonized essence. what gives? I’ve only been doing the low and mid level fractals. Does that have something to do with it?
Talk to the golem under the ledge Dessa is on, he’ll teleport you to a merchant.
I dont know if it is fixed, but the npc is/where disabeled for some days due to some bugs, so this might be the reason OP did not see it

Yes but since OPs personal reward was 50 then 51 52 he only got 2 fractals done in 51-100 bracket and 1 done in 21-50 so no 3 chest for those 3
It doesn’t work that way. You can finish the 51-100 daily achievement with a personal reward level of 3.
I noticed there were no patch notes mentioning the drop rates of ascended equipment in fractal boxes. I’m going to assume that they were just undocumented changes and that the droprate has been increased to a reasonable amount.
This is the most ridiculous thing about this expansion. I’ve farmed up 2k fractal relics to get the backpiece (and ascend it), done the dailies every day, and I’m going to be gated by the salvaged crafting material because ascended items don’t drop anymore. Absurd.
Must be nice to be the only person that has.
I’ve been doing all of the fractal dailies since HoT released (minus maybe 1 day), and I’ve yet to receive any boxes of ascended equipment. The same goes for the people that I’ve been running with. Rings are not counted in this, because they’re easy enough to get, but even their droprate has lowered significantly since the expansion launched.
Now, in order to complete the first collection for the backpiece, you’ll need to craft ascended gear to salvage (or like you, and get lucky on 0.5% drop chance). You also need 2 more to make the tier 1 back piece. So that’s 3 or more crafted ascended pieces that need to be salvaged before you can move up to the tier 2 precursor collection. Absurd.
Apparently the only way to get ascended gear now is to craft it, unless ANet decides to actually add rewards to fractals.
[Bug] Ascended boxes don’t drop from the daily.
When Colin says they need to iterate on the issues with rewards, he mean that they need to actually add rewards, right? An iteration would imply there was already some base reward established that needed fine tuning.
Nobody that I’ve run with since HoT released has gotten an ascended piece to drop from the daily (excluding rings). And considering you have to blow up a minimum of 3 pieces of ascended gear for the tier 1 precursor to the legendary fractal back piece, it’s absolute nonsense.
I can’t remember if all of the daily fractal stuff is mastery gated or not. But you should have a section in your fractal achievement tab called Daily Fractals. You should get a chest for completing 3 in the 51-100 bracket which contains a pristine relic and some other trash. Probably not a ring, and definitely not any ascended armor/weapons.
That’s probably a good idea. At this point, I may as well finish the 28 pages for the collection and then save all of the boxes. Maybe they’ll actually let ascended gear drop from them again so I can finish the collection.
The lack of ascended armor/weapon drops are ridiculous if you’re working on the collection for the legendary (fractal) back piece. Unless you hoarded ascended gear pre-HoT, you’re going to be crafting gear to throw away.
While you can “easily” get these from salvaging armor and weapons, with the new (nonexistent) droprate of ascended boxes from fractal rewards, they’re essentially impossible to obtain for anyone that did not have a stash full of ascended gear prior to the launch.
I’ve been working on my ascended gear for 2 weeks now, and I’m just missing 2 armor pieces and 1 accessory (gated by empyreal fragments at the moment, thanks dungeon nerfs…). I’ll be kitten ed if I’m going to make a perfectly good piece of gear and then salvage it because they don’t drop like candy anymore. Either rings need to drop these, or ascended droprates need to be reverted. *Or they could not be bound so I can purchase it.
