Guild Wars 2

I have not been able to actually play Heart of Thorns properly yet because for the last week I have been stuck in Camp Resolve. Every time I want to make some progress there is poison everywhere and of course die virtually within half a minute.

So why make an expansion and then people cannot even get into it by making a huge area of poison right at the start? It’s like saying come buy a cake, but to eat it you first have to walk through the sewer a few times, but the cake is really nice IF you can get to it lol counting the Dollars for game.

What am I doing wrong? I fly into an updraft and go down, not up, I flutter my wings but that does not help, stand stockstill but that does not help either, so every time I get into an updraft I drop.

In my ’training log" it says to train updraft and the bar in that is about 60%, so does that mean I have to do lots of updrafts, even falling down the whole time, until eventually it works?

OK maybe a stupid question but I am not five years old lol, more on the other end of the scale, i.e. ancient.

I am stuck int he Southwest Silverwastes for hours now have done that same quest: Defend Amber Sandfall and Protect Lightbringer Osa from Mordren about ten or more times , i.e. been at it for HOURS and am getting quite frustrated. I simply cannot advance. The Gate has a big stopsign on it and does not let me through.

Three of my other chars have done same quest without problem. Also, since I already have 2 Masterpoints and Glideskill from previous chars, it is strange that it tells me to “return to the jungle to earn masteries end train for gliding skill” .

I find that the whole NPC army around me in the instances is so incredibly weak why bother even having them? I can watch them fighting and they do not make even a dent in the enemy’s health. Are they just there for decoration ?
So as a single person you have to fight like 7 strong enemies and then more come, and more and it is not fun any longer. I only just played the expansion for 8 hours in a row today and really got quite frustrated with everything. (like “gliding”, well, at least no other game will ever be tempted to pinch/copy that system )

The gliding situation being explained a bit more detailed. For instance you get the message that to continue you should now first get your glider skill. That is all as an explanation?
It does not explain properly that you need two Masterpoints instead of only the one, because after the one in the next box it tells you to train gliding. In the same box which, if it is not full, you CANNOT train gliding. So it is false/confusing information.
Then, NOWHERE does it explain that the wings miraculously appear once you jump off a cliff. This is a totally unusual way in any game but in this game the producers don’t care to mention it. I guess you paid the price for the expansion, maybe the last one anyway, so who cares about customer satisfaction ?

OK I have the message to earn my glider basics to continue with the story “Establishing a Foothold”

So Is there an official guideline by the producers to teach us that or are we left to guess?

I have hunted you tube/internet and what I get is everybody making videos that have guys already with wings on running real quick to all kinds of areas then you do the quest here, then you do the quest here, then here and then you can glide ….. jumps off a mountain. Somehow the areas they show are never the areas where I am getting the official message to learn gliding! before I can go on
So I run and jump and fall like a rock and die.

Nobody tells you where you are supposed to get the wings and what you are actually supposed to do from when you have finished the two parts in Heart of Thorns that are before “Establishing a Foothold”.

So I don’t know, must be a lot of good guessers in this game or is that why so many people advised against this game? I always enjoyed it and now came back after I was stuck for a long time with the Dark Soul games.

So yes, so advice would be great if somebody knows whether the producers actually took the time to write some instructions/guide or if somebody seriously made a you tube to teach ( and not talks with a bored rapid voice to just get internet points up)

I have about 6 or 7 Lvl 80 chars but have not played for a long time. Now I am back and the absolutely beautiful dresses I had purchased for my chars don’t seem to be on their back any longer once I start playing. (They are still on them when I look at their picture for log in).
So I am wondering, is there some special monthly fee that has to be paid or something, or are the new outfits already purchased not applicable for the expansion?

OK dumb question, have been away for a looong time. So I am a noob again.

Where is the skill bar??? There is something for everything like your wardrobe, dyes, etc etc but I have pushed every button possible and cannot find where do I see my skills. As I play from start, skills appear in the boxes on the general view as I play, but where is the overview of all of that?

There is the shop, and there is pvp and there is character, and there is well everything but no indication of where the skill bar is…….

I have done this area before with 7 other chars but that was when the game was still quite active with people in the lower regions. I think they must have changed it because I never had this problem before. But also there are more events now and they are on basically always in certain spots.

Thx Sir Morgan, I think I will beat them with my Guardian or Necro (lvl80) and then quickly log in my Engineer

I have maxed out 7 chars and want to now play the last class. I started an Engineer and find that probably the producers want us to leave.

Most areas are absolutely packed with mobs, and more ‘events’ than you can count,but not only that, see this for instance:

Dreadhaunt cliffs/Dissun Mine. You can get a skill point there by fighting a mob. But before he will fight you, you have to ‘clean the cave of dredge’. OK, I fight and fight but every time I have basically ‘cleaned’ the cave, they respawn quicker than I can fight them.

Moral of the story, I will never be able to get the skill point.

So if this is the way this game is going now, Tschau, Aufwiedersehen, Good Bye!

This is part of main questline and it is about the most stupid rediculous part of the whole game. I have done it with 7 previous chars and every time hated it and somehow got through it after about half hour of slugging beer down.

But now with my last character I have been at it for 3/4 hour and I am just sick of it.
What a stupid part of this game. I hate it. Maybe I have played this game for too long.
SICK OF IT. THIS PART OF THE QUESTLINE IS REDICULOUS.

I think the why of it is that there are some morons that do stuff ‘because they can’. Some hermits sitting in a home or room that would be running under the title ‘hoarders’ on TV programs. They poop in a bag, eat mouldy stuff and leave the plate where they ate but say ‘oh, oh, i have done this since my husband left me 20years ago’ or some crap like that. Then you see the monitor and keyboard squeezed in somewhere in a corner and know what they do all day lol

Agree with Bron. I have lvl 80 in all classes except for Engineer, Battling through it right now with that one.
Ranger is one of my favourites. Initially I was a bit discouraged with this char but then it turned out to be one of my best. Wow, and underwater with my shark or poison stingray I rule!

What I am wondering most of all is that we have not gotten an official announcement, which would be the decent thing for them to do and then try and fix it.

Same problem. Could not get in for half hour and even reset my password. I gave it one more try and actually got logged in. Played for 10 minutes and was lagged to death. After that ‘lost connection to server’.

Tried again over and over to get back in but no luck.

I keep getting this error code when I try to log in. I reset my password and tried again but it still gives me this ‘spiel’ about it may have to do with firewall settings etc etc.

I have played the game on these same settings, same firewall etc. for more than 4 months now. So suddenly I cannot log in any longer. This really sucks!

My problem with GW2 is first of all the disappointment that it is by far not as good as the first GW and also totally different. GW hat a better story, better gameplay, better graphic, better armor etc etc etd

So all that was left for GW2 is to ‘swipe’ the names and music. The only reason to call it GW2 is to have instant salleability which is cheating the public right from the start.

Then they give us a reasonably good game for big bucks but already in char creating is the disappointment. The ‘GIANT’ Norse is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So one char is a giant and all others, humans as well, are mini midgets in comparison. I will not make this list too long.
I am playing it still awaiting another game that comes out in spring. But GW2 was a big disappointment. Not as bad as Diablo3, that one should have received first prize for worst game.

Just wondering what you found the most stupid vista in this game.
Mine is the one at Sootberme. Fist you have no view and have to jump blind through bushes to end up on a rock. Then you puzzle jump and eventually get to a rock on a tight ledge where you have to jump up.

If you have made it this far……. then you keep jumping up and eventually fall down because it is pure pot luck to actually jump to the top of the rock.

I have done it with three of my chars and eventually got it. However my thief has tried SIXTY times and never made it.

I think it is just STUPID to make things THAT DIFFICULT because once you fail one item, you don’t really feel like going on because the challenge of geting everything in that area, i.e. viewpoints, skills, waypoints etc etc, that challenge is gone.

I simply don’t feel like going on with my thief now. It is really discouraging.

OK originally I played to get my char as high level as possible and concentrated on that.
Now I need to really get my achievements up to date, like for instance laurels needed to buy good stuff and also recipes for crafting.

I do NOT understand the system. For instance it says daily achievments finish them and get one laurel a day. OK I see I have finished 3 underwater fights out of 5 for dailies so I quickly go and do another one ie it counts to 100% as I kill the stuff. now I am 4/5. OK I go and try again but it says 100% completed. ????

Then I think ok events, I need one more event for daily event participation.
I go and find a daily event and fight like crazy and actually get it.

But what is going on now, all my events have reset to 0 because apparently in USA or somewhere the new day has started.

Anyway, how many do I have to finish?? I do not understand. I don’t do PvP and I don’t group so what am I to do.

Is there somewhere a guide? the online official guide is totally confusing I don’t understand. OK I am not stupid I am a qualified CPA. So I am not dumb. But this system is very hard to understand

I am doing main storyline “down the hatch” level 33 and part of it is to take part in a ‘beer drinking competition’.
I have been doing nothing but slugging beers for more than half an hour and it still says I must win the competition.
I am just sick and tired of it!
So I stand there ‘drinking beer’ for another half hour or hour……………………………..no thanks
Maybe I have been playing this game for too long I am so terribly annoyed I feel like starting the new Assassin Creed game I got for Xmas!

I am doing the storyline quest ‘battle for Claw Island’.
It tells you to fight the ghost shop ‘Warmonger’ with a Trebouchet
The Trebouchet is not working, wherever I turn it it says it cannot fire in that direction.

I wrote details in bug report too but they never published my post. So what is happening, are we only allowed to say good things about this game?
