I usually run guild runs to catch up guildies and sometimes we are short on peeps, so we use gw2lfg.com to fill in the spots. I haven’t had one bad PUG yet. It’s what you make of it. I type everything out and respect the PUGs in my groups. I do instructions in /party chat so everyone on the same page. Communication in PUGs is what makes a difference between making it or not (well DCing does too).
People have their own way of doing fractals, but if a group knows what everyone is doing, things usually work out well. I constantly get comments that “this was the best pug in their experience”.
Keep in mind, people that you get from here are the same PUGs you pick up through gw2lfg or /map. Either way communicate your intentions and forgive silly mistakes folks do (falling off ledges, not noticing lava, etc). Explain, advice and respect other folks opinions. Not everyone is perfect.
I enjoy fractals as well, but the negative things outweigh the positive right now. Anet seems to listen to the community and in time they will come around to fixing it.
Sadly, quite a few from my friends list are no longer online. Contacting them I get the same result “waiting for things to get better/fixed, before I come back”.
Progression based on luck? 2 weeks of dailies and only one ring? While some other people have like 10 of them? No, thanks.
Ya I am getting to that point as well. 1.5 weeks of two (10&20) dailies and nothing.
Yup, has happened to me a few times, quite annoying. First we hated the overflow, now we can’t progress without it.
Sadly GW2 was suppose to be a game about playing together, rather than a “catch up”
We have catch up days, but you can grind lowbie levels for so long before the lvl10+ people get sick of it. The mechanic is at fault, not the people.
They are changing the vendors and the cost of the simple infusions, so Anet is listening to the community.
I am in a family friendly guild, we are large (250 members) with a lot of working adults and school kids, so it’s hard to waste a lot of hours at night trying to catch up folks. I see fractals as a huge separation tool for guilds.
I know it’s been said before, but this is a plea to Anet to revisit this level idea. The fractal levels split up the friends and guilds into little elitist subgroups. For a social PVE gamer running something longer than two hours is very hard on daily basis. So the higher people tend to go higher and don’t help out the lowbies.
Please please please, for the sake of the community, redo these requirements. Allow us to run the highest level per group instead of the lowest and allow +1 tick to each member.
If we run too high of a level for our member parties, it will be our fault and we can control that, but we will be doing it as a COMMUNITY/Guild and GROUP OF FRIENDS.
Please do not split us up.
Thank you.
Worth a shot that way. It’s actually my favourite to do too although perhaps that’s from not having done it as much as the others. My only complaint is that the final bosses frontal aoe seems to be very 360 degrees sometimes… xD
Always stand on his butt/tail. The final boss on Tzark path is the hardest, but it’s a small price to pay for a quick path.
Tzark is my most favorite path to do. But you have to have decent dps group for the burrow race. In my experience, I split up in two group and cover each side. I’ve tried many times with a single group, but we couldn’t keep up with everything. Two groups worked much better in my experience (full exotic/ascended guardian)
I try not to do Path 2 if I can help it. Second wave of Detha always bugs on me.
Anet seems to react to threads with lots of posts. Please keep this thread on top by bumping it and keeping Anet’s attention on this topic.
For #2 you have to click the banner to teleport to the boss, usually that puts you into the ice that you just have to dps down on your own to get out
Bump for a reminder for an answer, in same boat as everyone else. I have two offensive crappy stats rings, which I don’t want to shell out 225 relics for.
It has been many times over. A dev responded that they are looking for a solution, but nothing has been said about it being released in the next patch. So I wouldn’t hold my breath.
A lot of pissed off people out there though, me included.
Very few people are actually still doing fractals, it can take hours or even days to get a group together for most levels. The people who fractals was meant to keep busy just aren’t here. The people who are here mostly got bored after a week and went somewhere else. The few people who are still doing this dungeon don’t even care about progressing in it or care about ascended items, they would have enjoyed an extra path in AC just as much.
with gw2lfg.com I have no problem creating a group of any lvl within 5 minutes. I am lvl21 fractal and run all kinds of lvls to help guildies and we fill in holes with PUGs from gw2lfg. Never had to wait much, most daily groups fill up with less than a minute.
If you are just sitting there spamming one overflow in /map, then I can see your side of things.
Wondered the same question, there is no selection for Exploiting anymore. Anet, any feedback on this?
Address it with Anet, meanwhile if you want a group gw2lfg is your best solution. Or you can go back to spamming /map for hours.
If not for being in a family oriented guild, I would never go down a level in fractals. Helping guildies and playing with everyone is the only reason I help out with <10 levels, at the cost of my own time with no real rewards.
The idiotic RNG drops is keeping me going to 20+ lvls anyways (a week of dailies without one pink drop).
Bruno, your suggestion is a great one, wish Anet would see it.
http://gw2lfg.com is your answer, really takes less than a minute to put together any lvl party. The more people know/use this site, the better our community becomes.
Stop spamming /map and start gw2lfging!
PS: Don’t mix up NA/EU servers
gw2lfg.com is awesome. Takes less than a minute to put a group together.
About DC, no doubt man, I am with you on that one.
Bump for the fix/solution for DC. I don’t care about DC, just let people back in, even if we have to wipe an instance and start over with the current one.
Fractal: Colossus
I was carrying a hammer and was low on health, casted Tome of Courage to get a full heal, when I switched back the hammer was gone. Not on the floor, but disappeared. While I was casting the heal, the stacks were going up.
We had to wipe and reset to get the hammer back. So a word of warning, do not use Tome of Courage while carrying a hammer
Is it possible to add time/date stamps to Dev Tracker forum?
I frequently visit Dev Tracker for the latest and greatest news from the devs and would love to see the time stamps if new posts were made and when.
Thanks
Ya Perma overflow in LA is bothersome. I’d love to see the Entrance to FoTM moved somewhere else.
Yak’s Bend overflow
Yak’s Bend overflow. Boss spawned outside of the circle and keeps resetting HP.
Whoever beta tested this bs needs to be fired, this crap is just that crap!
I went back about 30 pages (before I gave up) without even one reply from a dev to any topic. Did devs leave us?
Sounds like we (working adults) didn’t miss much but a giant lag fest
You’re missing out on a great deal. It’s just a great deal of seeing the back end of the same crab for five mins at a time.
I have 3 twitch.tv feeds going, so I see 3 crabs now! also 3 different res views and everyone is whining. It’s like I am right there with you pushing #4 in the downed stage with no progress!
Sounds like we (working adults) didn’t miss much but a giant lag fest
How many blues did you get for the reward?
Agreed on both parts, thread getting deleted and Anet lost it’s charm. Stat grinding is so 10 years ago.
The way I fight thieves is with retaliation. I LOVE your dagger dances, as soon as you open up, I run to you. Most thieves I know are glass canons, who rely heavily on stealth.
How to fight retaliation? Run away is about it until it stops, because any damage you deal out, we give it back.
I have never messaged anyone insults after they have killed me, and I’ve been CD since beta.
If you are smart, you will message them and ask them how their build can be countered. If you die to someone, it’s only your fault for being weaker than the other person, not their fault for being stronger or better at their build.
I still don’t see a point of accusing servers because of bad apples. I plainly selected Yak’s Bend at the start of the GW2 career just because the name looked cool, nothing to do with where the most hackers were, or where the most JP campers were. I believe majority of folks followed the same principal and the magic of RNG put enough bad apples in every server.
The only thing they said was in the future. No dates were given or specific if it will be released in this patch.
Whenever I juke a bunch of people on my Thief I always show myself to them 2000 units away just so they know I didn’t alt-f4. I really don’t get how they don’t have a 10 second timeout in this game yet. Maybe today’s patch!
Hey Stiv, I am the guard who contacted
As much as I hate the thieves, battling you has been the best battles I’ve had. You never move from your spot and I can always find you there insulting our yaks!
PS: After dueling you, I did manage to down a few thieves with the trick you showed me, so thanks man!
-just another Yaker.
Usually hammer #3 does the job well enough though.
Usually if my JI is down, I use 3 followed by 5, the timing usually works… but then they just roll out of it!
Drarnor, I use staff as well and totally agree, the cast time makes that an almost a junk skill.
So sounds like the majority here agrees about the skill being somewhat broke and needing a fix. Now if we can get Anet to read this post. I remember reading a post second week into release where Anet rep said the Hammer love is coming down to us… haven’t seen it yet
To fix #5:
-Not allow dodge to roll out
-Not allow stability to walk out, but also not knock down
-Allow teleport/mist out of it
I am good with those changes if they would ever be implemented.
Doesn’t Signed of Wrath has 2s cast or something?
You first start casting #5, then right away push JI, it teleports you to them and finishes #5 locking them in. If you haven’t tried it, give it a shot, works great.
Yes, that’s probably how that guardian got away with stability.
I am not sure they hack, some of the folks I did catch up and downed them. If they had a speed hack or something, a guardian would never catch up to them.
What bothers me is the skill mechanics. Why put something in for one class and give the rest of the classes a total escape. Even another guardian somehow escaped from it lol
Just a tip, push #5 and then immediately use Judge’s Intervention to lock them down…. though most of them just run off from it lol. Anyways, glad I am not the only one on this.
Before flaming, I have 5,500 WvW kills with GS/Hammer, so I do have a bit of WvW experience.
Locking people down with Hammer #5 is becoming a joke. Pretty much 3 out of 4 fights 1v1 I get into, people tend to “escape” from my circle. They roll, they teleport, they mist out, they stealth. Is there ANYTHING that doesn’t escape our #5? Why even have that skill in the first place if anything can escape.
I think the only thing can’t escape the circle is a necro….
Amy I the only one on this?
I love that feature, met great people through it. If I get beaten bad, I’d whisper them and ask them their build/tactic. I haven’t had one bad apple yet, most people would e-mail me and share their information/build.
I’ve gotten a lot of people to go 1 on 1 with me to downed stage to practice this tactic or that, not one has ever Finished me or I them. We just let each other revive back up and go at it again. Great sportsmanship.
Once I made friends with my enemies from the other servers, it’s great to run into them kill them or die to them and then whisper a “grats” to them. Makes the game much more fun for me.
Like Varg said, people who want to harass you, they will do it other ways (aka dance on your dead face)
Pend, ya I just logged from work to check the score. Quite a change from early this morning. Who is on the morning crew to do such a push?
I sure hope you (FA) guys would pull ahead before this match is over. We (YB) faced CD before and their night crew completely roflstomped us. I honestly think that Yak’s Bend place is in the #4 bracket. We have too many small guilds and PUGs to compete with higher tier WvW priority servers.
As a yaker, what I observed is us Yaks have a lot of small guilds. We do have 3-4 larger guilds, but 3-4 large guilds can’t win the whole map. So you end up having a large PUG zerg running around, taking everything and not defending.
Seemed to me, every time I run into FA, it’s usually a group of 10-15 guildies. 10-15 guildies groups can easily take out PUG zergs in my experience.
Looking at Maniac’s screens (really funny btw), you can see the YB PUG zerg probably #1ing the wall below without any siege….
Unlimited [ULTD] has blast last night into the weary hours of this morning (something like 0130). Cannot wait for tonight! Cheers to future battles!
You guys have great organization, turtling and portal bombing skills. Now I don’t rush right in when I see ULTD around.
The influx of FA guilds made this week quite a lot of fun! Last weekend was looking like another boring week of searching for something to kill. FA organized and pushed back.
I am excited to login tonight and get slaughtered or slaughter a few FA invaders!
-just another Yaker
Couldn’t agree more. Running a guild group and having to go through the same process for 10 minutes to make sure everyone is in a group is idiotic.
Thumbs up for a guild/raid group for WvW.
WvW is the end game “raiding” by GW2 standards right? Give us those tools please!
Seems like engineers, thieves, mesmers and eles can all do that. Why not give it to every class then and make it fair.
Elementalists cannot stealth. They can, however, be targeted and bound even while in mist form, which is something that should be considered a bug since mist form is supposed to provide invulnerability during its duration. In any case, perma stealth and what eles and mesmers and engineers can do are in no way comparable.
Just this morning an ele chased me down into the BG jumping puzzle vault room. Door closed, no escape. I am a guardian, so it wasn’t big deal to take down an ele in close quarters. Then I see him do the mist thingy and poof he is gone. I waited for 2 minutes and the doors haven’t opened. He went poof and disconnected/ported…. how is that fair?
Add a cast time to thief invisibility and I am fine with the perma stealth, if they have to appear to cast it.
Osskil, after I blow my cool downs, I still have to stand there and take it, I can’t just poof and wait for my initiative to regen back.
