how do i glide in wvw without HOT ?

check out my server , people afk for hours , either using macro or using something to hold 1 to farm pips

I hate it , ppl can take camp and glide in ow , make it harder to take other server tower ,
server wp back to keep and glide into tower with sieges already build ,
before we were able to stop them from going in
maybe its fun for new player , but ppl who’s been playing wvw for years hate it
so ppl who dont have HOT cant even play or be force to get HOT , if they wanna follow tag , not everyone have gliding
i guess its another way anet force ppl to buy hot or quit , reg gw2 player cant do much anymore ,

maybe for new player in wvw would like it , but ppl been playing wvw for years hate it
ppl can glide away while losing a fight , glide into a tower , and i HOPE they dont put mount in wvw , that would mean all they have to do is jump over the wall

Gliding in wvw is an excellent improvement. It changes mobility, makes it more efficient and.. it’s fun.. cos.. you know.. we are playing a game! I also like gliding in combat.. you can be shot out of the sky, you can’t use your own skills when gliding.. where is the problem?

You can get to many camps faster to defend if attacked.. thus increases the chance of an actual skirmish occurring.

Yes, some tweaks need to be made, but overall, gliding has increased enjoyment of wvw. We’ve had many laughs and lots of fun.

how do you get shot outta the sky ? i was flying from my keep down , they could NOT touch me , r u using auto aim ? it will not be fun if other server can just glide into your tower

The hell? Who are these people, because I haven’t run into any of them. Gliding is as it should be, a shortcut to get you from point A to point B. That’s it. People are all acting like gliding stole your girlfriend, and kicked you in the kittens…. get a grip.

This is now the second week that the Red Team in WvW faces the brunt of disadvantages due to “Glide into hostile objectives” exploits (e.g. Gliding from Pangloss to Ogrewatch, bypassing gates and walls rendering Ogrewatch indefensible).

Since Red Team is (by ranking) already the “weakest” Team, this adds even more disadvantages to them. Will there be any compensation for them / consequences for those that use the exploit (bypassing hostile gates & walls?) or will Arena.net just shrug and say “we don’t care, sucks to be you, don’t forget to buy the expansion”?

Yes, I do know lots of people love the new gliding in WvW but as one who has been playing WvW for a few years now this gliding has completely ruined the game for me.

By the way, I can glide, so my disbelief and disappointment has nothing to do with so-called Pay to Win. I do have a HoT account on Fissure of Woe and Free-2-Play account on Anvil Rock.

Last night in WvW was a complete shambles with people gliding all over the place and enemies just jumping of the tallest cliffs in order to escape.

At our Citadel, instead of running down the steps, some of our own players were simply gliding down to the North West Tower so giving our enemies there little time to recover – very unfair to our enemies. The distances are already relatively short in the Alpine Borderlands but gliding has made them insanely short.

Seems no where is safe now – earlier so many lonely paths between steep cliffs where you knew you were relatively safe unless a stealthed player was about, but now people can just glide down from cliffs to you. Doesn’t matter whether its an enemy coming to attack you or a friendly coming to help you, we need distance to matter in WvW.

Lag, what a terrible time last night, teleporting to our Citadel while standing right outside was taking 30 seconds or more, sometimes a minute. There wasn’t a queue so the map wasn’t full. Perhaps the lag was just a coincidence or my network route had problems.

Sorry I’ve got no positive suggestions as still in shock.

Anyhow, for me, a truly wonderful amazing game ruined. Guess I’ll read more, give it while and reflect, perhaps its not as bad as I think.

I’ve just seen some more posts where people love the gliding – could be I’m a dinosaur.

i know the feeling , a server took camp and then fly in OW and while we try to take a tower , 20+ wp back to keep and fly in their tower , with siege already build , so we ended up no able to take it , before we without flying , we were able to stop them from going in

Are there two different complaints going on here now? Please use the in-game report function if there is some actual harassment going on and then block. The best thing that can be done is to explain how to report and block rather than get into a chat argument on someone else’s behalf. All you are teaching that person is how to throw fuel on the fire rather than empowering them with the in-game tools available.

But it is also a fragile time and kids need support when they feel overwhelmed.)

why are Anet allow spawn camp ?
this is the only game that allow spawn camp
really kitten ppl off
server with more ppl spawn for hours , days , spoil the fun for other , making them don’t wanna play anymore
and there is no way to get outta spawn cuz all 3 exit are being spawn camps / with sieges etc …

I was going to get it , UNTIL
I saw it cost 60 coppers Per USE
so to do the math , 60 coppers x 25 = 15 silver
25 Master’s Salvage Kit cost 15silver 36 coppers
25 Journeyman’s Salvage Kit 8s
25 basic salvage kit 88 c
not much of a saving
on top of costing 400 gems to get = 5 us dollars
if it was Free to use or cheaper per USE , I might consider
but ATM its not worth it

Permanently merging servers wouldn’t work because (1) complete dissolution of whatever server identity remains. It would be very unpopular (2) Temporary linkings allow ANet to control the population of a server and adjust it every couple months, preventing any one server from being stuck in the same tier for too long and helping weaken bandwagons.

Secondly, ‘every other week’? Dude, what? Relinkings are every 2 months, not 2 weeks.

And thirdly, that’s the whole point. Servers are linked in order to provide every server in a tier with even coverage.

Still, did you even read up on anything before coming to post here? We’ve been through this before.

depend we had SBI for 2 week and then we got other server we had HOD for 2 week aslo , HD HR we had for months , so you perfer to work with different ppl all the time ? not all server work well together

why can you perm merge servers ?
having to work with different server every other week its a Pain
our server are mainly USA time , so 12 AM , hardly anyone on , but other server are Ero Time
so when we go offline , they come on , when we come online , most of them are offline
main is can Anet give Perm Merge server so we dont have to work with different people every other week

nope after he rush me i dodge out , roll back into tower , notice 20k health , down to 8k theif skill 2 5 5 2 2 7 9 all at once was hit on me after 2 landed on me i roll back into the tower
and check the combat log , 7 skills was spam onto me with 1 rush

today in wvw , a theif rush me once , and 80% of my 20k Health are gone ,
then I check my combat log , I notice muti skills are being use

server in wvw , spawn camp for hours day after day , now ppl just got sick of it and less and less ppl on our server play wvw , why do ANET allow people to spawn camp ,
i had play other games and spawn camp is not allow , server build ton of seiges outside our spawn , we cant do anything

only thing that really bother me is we are the color RED , when blue or green do a CAP on camp or Tower , the color stay RED , or the other way around , when we take it back , it still stay blue or green , shoulda been RED ,oh and the clock is mess up ,when i click on camp , it will say they have the camp for 33 hours lol but its only been 3 min since Cap
this never happen , and i been doing wvw for yrs , until the update

while our server is CD , I also ask YB and NS server, they also have the same problem and this NEVER happen until the update , the score board is fine

once u log out , everything is fine , until someone cap or we cap a camp or a tower and the bug start all over again the color of the cap don’t change color or change back to our color , this bug started after the update . this NEVER happen in the pass , sometime Map is gone , Camps , Towers , Keeps Icon is gone from time to time

over 100 , but its not leveling up my elite spec skill

I felt ANET is forcing ppl to be in high traffic server
some ppl buy GW2 and join a low traffic server for a Reason ,
NOT everyone got a 2k top of the line computer/laptop that can handle Zerg
we are also being force to buy a high end computer
( if you don’t want the lag playing in high traffic server if the people want to count playing )
for the people who just want Casual play , NOT able to handle the lag @ high traffic server ,
people who’s got lower end computer/laptop with a build in video card can only handle so much ,
also IF people want high traffic server , they can move , that is a win win for everyone
I also notice leveling is slower now , with a zerg group of 30+ , your chance of hitting npc or player are low , you can’t even hit the lord more then twice if you are in a group of 30+ or any other npc around the lord )( which give xwp )
so ANet put 2 kind of server , high and low traffic , so everyone would be happy
not just the people who are able to play 10 hours a day or ppl with high end computer/laptop

well full server or high server = 1800 gems to move
server that use to cost only 500 gems now also 1800 gems to move

I think that is an awesome idea ,
the tag cost 300 golds = 30 us dollars
I am all for it lol
I am even willing to pay for a tag that can jump queue lol

Well I am on JQ, so yes there were very large queues, but guess what, they were already down tonight

you are right slimike , it’s down from 2 hours to 1 hour 43 min @ 7pm PST

I love the auto loots vs before , when you die , and bag laying beside you ,
