Thanks for the info. I meant to take this down earlier this morning (if that’s even possible) after getting the hall last night. as for the mats, I’m able to do that on my own even if it takes a while.

I’ve had thoughts on upgrading my personal guild so that I can get more space in my personal guild bank. but getting a GH turned out to be more of a hassle to solo that I could handle. If anyone would be willing to help, I’d be happy. Thanks

I’ve been thinking about upgrading my personal guild bank for extra room in it for non account bound items(food weapons etc.) but I’m unsure as to how to do such. Would I have to “apply for a larger guild license”? if so how many members would it take to do so?(if I have some friends willing to help me out)

The box to the guilds that I chat on are all checked.

I just logged back on for the second time today to notice that I cant communicate in my guild chat(s). I started a new character earlier today and after that, I ran into the same issue.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Just like a vast majority of other players I have my own personal guild with a bank for more storage. But the thing is, I only have the first upgrade(The simple “Guild Stash”) I’ve been thinking about upgrading it so that I can have more room in both banks. When I looked it up the wiki said I needed to talk to “Beaulieu”(outside the guild headquarters), “Hannah the Younger”(inside the guild headquarters), or the Guild Master(wvw).

Whenever I talk to them all I get is “I want to upgrade my guild emblem.”(which I don’t care about) and “I want to apply for a large guild license.” which leads to “Hmm, your membership is not large enough. You need more guild members before I can give you a bigger license.”…

It just happened to me a minute ago, where I got disconnected. I was able to log back in easily just to get kicked right back off to get the “Cannot connect to client” message. My internet is working properly.

EDIT: I also remember someone else was getting DCed constantly yesterday throughout the entire DS meta run.

Thank you so much for such an amazing game franchise. I first started playing about 9.6 years ago. I got my first game, Guild Wars Factions when I was fighting Leukemia. A friend of mine introduced me to it, and ever since I’ve had such an amazing load of fun and excitement. I am not 10 years in remission and still happily pwning my enemies in Tyria.

As far as pvp goes I remember that if one reaches level 20 in pvp they can used the “Ranked Arena”. I just recently got to lvl 20 and still can’t access the ranked arena. I’m not stuck with the question: "Is the ranked arena now only accessible through the leagues?

The way I see this working is having the old arena in LA(screenshot of it below) fixed up and the pet battles swap the camera from behind the players ranger to the pet that’s selected(Say I have my tiger out and I enter a pet battle, My tiger would be the one to fight) and would need its own skill bar. I’d say the first 5 skills be the pets skills ( E.G. Tiger being Furious Pounce, Slash, Bite, and Maul.)

I’ve noticed for a while now that when making a human character there’s one part that states “Everybody says I’ve been blessed by (pisc god/goddess) when I was young.”

What impact does this have on the toon? I’ve read on the Character Creation page that it “is presumed to be cosmetic.” but I still seem to be slightly curious.

Sylvari names are actually based on Old English more than anything (which fits with their culture drawing a lot on Arthurian legends), which means they draw from a number of sources, Celtic languages being just one of them. Welsh, Gaelic and Old Germanic languages also tie into it so those can be good sources.

Welsh is my go-to language for sylvari names, mainly because it’s one I already used for character names before this game. Partially because I know a bit of it (I went to uni in Wales) but mainly because I think it looks and sounds nice and it’s an easy way to ‘spice up’ words that fit the character but sound boring to me in English.

My most recent one is Aurhedryn, created just 36 days ago. The name means ‘gold seed’ in Welsh, which seemed appropriate because he’s born in the cycle of Dawn and uses a yellow and orange colour scheme.

My second I cheated a bit: she’s called Bethe Arian but it’s a two word first name (like Mary Beth, Sarah Jane etc.) rather than a last name. Arian is Welsh for silver and Bethe is an Old Irish Gaelic word for birch, so silver birch.

My 3rd permanent sylvari (and actually my oldest) is the one who breaks the pattern. She’s called Alleria Wildrunner, which was copied over from my Survivor character in GW1. It’s funny because I will swear up and down sylvari and not simply GW2’s elves and then I go and do that. And she’s not even a ranger. But I liked the name and wanted to keep it and it fit her better than any of my other characters.

I’m curious as to how many people have a sylvari toon. I’ve been attempting to make a female sylvari with a Celtic name but it seems all the names I insert have been taken. I personally am a perfectionist and want her to have no last name(as are the standards of the sylvari culture).

Anyway, The question at hand is: "how many of you guys have a Sylvari with a Celtic name and no last name?

Just got back on my Necro today and used “Death Shroud” until the green bar — the life force I’m guessing? — was fully depleted(probably hit 0 as soon as I killed the enemy[ies]). and noticed this. Anyway, She just happened to turn transparent for a few seconds to about a minute. Is this normal?

I personally wanna see gw1 styled dance moves back. I miss having a necro headbanging while I listen to heavy metal. xD

Oh, ok. I wasn’t aware of it mostly being events. and the "Remembering Scarlets War was the clip that I was refering to “I know that it has a clip that explains S1.”.

Not sure if this is where to post this but…

I’ve went through LW S2 on my warrior before HoT was even announced and I like the new allies and all, but… I feel a bit lost on who exactly they are. LW S2 barely explains the group the toon joined/formed with the other characters(Braham, Rox, Taimi, etc.). But I felt lost from the start of LW S2(personally) I know that it has a clip that explains S1. But I personally prefer going through the whole thing myself over watching a small summery. I suggest adding LW S1 to the gem store. There are also those who did have the chance to play throu it that did not have the time to fully complete the whole story line. So this is an idea to consider. Add the LW S1 to the gem store for us who have not been able to play or complete to buy and fully experience.

I’m not sure if ideas are of acceptance here but I’ve personally had a slight bit of trouble fully comprehending exactly where I am in a particular region — eg: Knowing Clayent Falls from the three surrounding areas — keep in mind, I know the general location is southwest Queensdale with Altar Brook Vale to the north east, Township of Claypool to the east, and Altar’s Windings to the north. But the Idea I’ve just started having run through my head while charming pets on my, now level 21, ranger, is have have an outline of each individual section of each area of Tyria on the map and mini-map.

I’ve noticed that
1. for a while now that whenever I type something and/or anyone else in the guild I’m repping enter it in my “Guild Chat” tab and swap to a different one and back everything is erased. Also that there is nothing there prior to me swapping to it despite the guild members chatting.

and 2. recently —not 100% sure if it’s just me not knowing what I’m doing--, Absolutely nothing is happening in the guild chat at all. Despite, a. repping the given guild, and b. having the chat tab set up as guild /guildX.

Can someone please help? Thanks.

EDIT: There wasn’t any issues with receiving personal story items or bags of loot. It turned out that I had an inventory bag(in which the items in question where being places) was minimized. I was tired and annoyed with RL issues last night to notice it. Sorry for any trouble.

That’s pretty fair. I know it’s a beta but I thought all the specs were released/revealed already for it.

We have not released all weapons and legends for the Revenant yet. Right now there is definitely a gap in the playstyles offered as we haven’t discussed the more pure DPS focused setup yet. soon tm.

I had a weird feeling this was the case seeing how confined the rev felt.

That aside, I still kinda like the new profession none the less. And just as I assumed, new stuff will be released FOR the rev, which’ll probably add to or subtract from the like.

Also like others had said, this is just for testing things out. seeing how they feel now while things are at the stage they’re at and give feedback as well as report issues and have the wonderful team at Anet improve on our reports. Even if it’s a little bit negative it helps them in the long run.

If you think weapon swapping is “unfun” then stick with one weapon. But there are plenty of us that like the idea of having two separate weapons for each stance that we wish to use(Ventari/staff Demon, Mace/Axe for example). Those of us that want a second weapon set want it because we think it’d be fun having another weapon set to work with another stance, not because we think its easier.

If you don’t like the idea of another set, then you don’t have you use the second slot. Noone’s willing to force you.

Link Fireside. (The name was used for one of my Factions toons. I though that seeing the revenants description it’d be perfect for an old toon.)

I’ve seen loads of people say the revenant needs weapon swapping and another say that that would be a slight issue seeing as how the ventari stance already deals with having to possibly pressing F1 to swap to it then 6 to be able to fully use the skill set. The only thing that can come to mind on causing a less stressful swap mode is that tapping f1 to swap to the ventari sets an “auto 6” this way noone has to hit three keys at once(` + F1 + 6).

The only theoretically logical(well, imo) answer I could come up with is a strong magic resist skill that is placed on such items such as doors, gates, barriers, etc.. I know it sounds weird or even idiotic. Lets look at the Koda for a moment, the two legged Polar Bears in EotM(Edge of the Mists for those that are still new to GW2), we all have to wait a specific amount of time before we can truly do any kind of damage to them(I forget the amount of time) right? This is one of those magic skills.

Thinking my own theory up, I’d say while Fire based attacks and fiery weapons would cause wood and oil to go up in flames, the magic should also reduce the effectiveness but not as severely as kittenay, a normal iron weapon or necro spell.

Again this is mostly an opinion, so don’t go bashing me just because you don’t agree with it.

Now that you mention it, you have a point. Thinking about the past when I first started playing factions, it was a bit of a pain to find the right guild due to almost everyone wanting to get into a gvg match with everyone else.

Something I got to thinking of was the ability for guilds to go into war with each other. Think about it, the game is called “Guild Wars” 2 right? why is there not the option for guilds to actually war?

What I am thinking of is that the guild leader(s) have the initial say as to wether or not to go to war with another guild and the option to allow the officers or their second in command of doing so.

I too am also still having an issue with the chat window in general.

• chat refreshes when ever I switch tabs or changing maps.
• and whenever a guildie says something in my “Guild Chat” tab it shows up in all of my other chat tabs where I do not have ‘view guild chat’ checked.

As for other characters getting hit with the “not in a guild” despite repping a guild, I don’t know due to being on my main since the update.
