come on no one else took screens of this?
Guys it’s SUPPOSED to be super challenging. In fact I would say there isnt enough hardcore content… what happened to hard mode?
oh and Ravij?… You have my pity. But I’m still goin to laugh that u play such an intense game especially in it’s environments… with caves and houses… x)
hmm, thats one of the most solid arguments yet… I do hope they continue to tweak the living story so everyone can enjoy it.
as u can see I’m kind of a sucker for stars x)
yea I dont agree that they’re not present in the living story but u should work more with your order and the living story offers the perfect format for that kind of content
Agreed. The order choice (along with pretty much all the personal story choices but especially this one) needs to have MOAR IMPACT
Anet. The personal story was a good idea, poorly executed. But I still have faith in you.
I just wanted to see what great screenshots other people took from my favorite content. I’ve had fun heavily editing (and would like to get around to painting em some day) probably to make up for my puny screen xD Any and all cool screens are welcome as well as any comments/criticisms!
I will also take this opportunity to say I want Cantha back! As well as the high res screenshot option! If u agree say it, and maybe Anet will hear us! I believe in u Anet!
Yeah to be honest most of story line was disappointing but yes, your feeling of being part of a guild was really the worst. I dont think order dungeons are the answer though – people would just complain. There needed to be more missions with your order or extra stuff on the side to do.
yeah that really is unacceptable. I mean we shouldn’t have to ask to play with international friends
very true Ominous, im just addin my voice
I thought the mists was a great dynamic to adding some cool environments, lore and challenges to the GW universe. I definitely miss it and would love to see what they can do with it in GW2.
Very true Kain, they’re enemies with character! I hate boring mindless killing machine type foes such as oh I dont know, the UNDEAD. What a lame main enemy!
The Skritt also have great character
I agree that its kinda annoying that we were slowly teased for months this only lasts a couple weeks but I dont understand when ppl whine about a whole story being temporary; it’s a LIVING world. And besides that point is the LIVING STORY is permanent. There will be somethin next time! Its alright if u missed one or two things!
So dont worry! Cherish the singularity of the experience!
And hey this is better than the Lost Shores which was ONE day.
Removing Cantha because it is allegedly not a “universal” depiction of humanity is Eurocentrism.
Just saying.
Besides, what is this “Asian” they speak of? Last I checked, the continent of Cantha had nationalities of Canthan, Kurzick, and Luxon. The continent of Cantha were actually a pretty diverse amount of peoples.
Spot on
Since the more the merrier I might as well throw in my few words: Cantha was epic and would offer absolutely mind-blowing environments with the new game engine! Scizwig you’re absolutely right, the diversity of GW1 was what made it so great and GW2 would greatly benefit from it! Plz Anet, unchain you’re artists and breathe life into a new Cantha!
We still have faith in you!
I cant believe how much epic quality content u guys put out on so many levels. Thank you so much. It’s heartening to see a company so centered around quality and not just “how many boring re-packaged products can we put out there at a time?”
I thought it would be smart to try and compile all those small cutscene bugs, like missing audio or text that doesn’t follow the audio.
I’ve noticed a bunch but here is the first one I’ve written down (cause it really destroyed the atmosphere of the scene).
Crusader Gilley’s audio is missing in the cinematics at the end of “Breaking the Bone Ship” (or perhaps she “too far away” from where the camera is? The same thing happened in “To the core” when Tonn is talking while the camera circles the lava. Maybe the distance factor needs to be turned off during cinematics?)
Just a few weight problems I think. My weapons are not in the right place in my hand. I’m a male, Asura, Engineer.
Edit:
It does the same thing for my rifle. (it’s too far back and turned off to the right, so floating, not resting on my left hand)
(Sorry about the double pic)

ty for saying that.
Some parts were fun but the fun was ruined by the grind. My overflow was sick of farming waves of karka not even halfway through. We pulled our hair out when the wave event repeated itself further down the road.
However the parts where you load geysers with rocks, trigger a landslide, and open the volcanic holes was fun. The final battle wasn’t half bad either.
If the grindy parts took a third of the time, it would have been a pretty decent event.
true
sorry for the english mistakes, I had to write quickly.
So while most of the previous topics deal with the one-time event and loot controversy (and I agree there is a problem if this many ppl got annoyed, although ppl do prefer to moan than acclaim), I wanted to address something I found a bit annoying: the final event and really, all big boss events.
So here is the thing: I loved how u rarely fought the actual ancient Karka but rather hit him with other means, like defeating his minions and chucking huge rocks at him it would be really boring to just sit there let ur sword swing again and again and again… but w8 a minute isnt that what happened anyways? The champion karkas, took FOREVER to take down! And they posed no threat! Sure I had to dodge every once and a while but that was it!
I suggest this structure for big boss events: break it down into smaller events like you’ve been doin (like take out the leg, or fire rocks at it or so on) but raise the teamwork AND risk. That was one of the few good things about the holy trinity: you felt u had a role, u felt that without u, everyone was screwed. And that feels good. Now you addressed that by making everyone be able to do everything. And that’s great. In small parties. When it’s a huge event like this, with 30 ppl or whatever, u really just end up minding ur own business, or rather, sit around and let auto attack do its thing (aside from the occasional res). Which is not cool. So why not take the roles idea further (but keep the flexibility)?
For example for the champion Karkas: why not have it so players can either get rope and hold own one of the legs of the karka, or get bombs and try and dodge in and place one under it (or be boring and just fight it with ur good ol’ sword) and both roles would be avaible, through your amazing environmental weapon system. And hey, seeing as this is a game about timing and staying alert u can take one step further (and this is what I’m talking about more risk): Why not have it so that players that are holding down the legs have a set 3 skills: left, right and back. Then whenever the karka tries to move in one direction(represented with a corresponding arrow), the player has to pull in the opposite direction. And then if too many players mess up (encouraging more players to help, to better ensure that the plan works), the Karka breaks free and deals MASSIVE AoE damage! But if it does work, the bombs can do massive damage to the Karka and the players sont feel like they’re grinding! Up the risk and the rewards, and ppl will want to work together more while making it more exciting.
Please discuss and give USEFUL feedback to Anet so we can make this a better game for all!
I like the idea of one-time events, as they make the world feel alive and give it some cool lore, but that is ALL they should do. maybe a unique skin but that is it. And yeah, they should run a whole day as there are many international players, and players who can’t play at one specific time. That should also help with the lag.
Over all though, I say kudos to Anet for doing this at all. Not to mention remember ppl, they are trying new things, seeing where they can take the genre: you can’t expect them to get it perfect on their first try. I’m happy they have the courage to try these things. Keep at it Anet! I’m sure it’ll be even better next time!
