QoL change – Remove the Crafting Tables from Borders so those cheap PvE players eager to not waste 1s stop using the WvW as free bank/free crafting TELEPORT.
Every WvW player enters wvw already stocked on crafted consumables so those are not needed and serve as QUEUE creating tool – specially now that we have World Linking.
Thank you.
Get rid of the crafting tables, sure. But please dont get rid of the bank or the trading post! There are so many times we use those items because we are either changing our builds around last minute based on core comp of group, or we are changing up our food, ran out of catas/rams/ac, etc.
The lag has been very intense. I agree. However, it has always been pretty intense with blob vs blob. Now, it is much worse on the Desert borderlands, but the server merge has magnified this issue.
Ok, fair enough. I see what you’re saying, and I will give it time.
I can say, after I finally got in… It was LOADS of fun!
Just putting that out there. The queues blow, man. This is just awful.
I have all these town clothes tonics from way back when you made the switch, and I never did really understand why these didnt just become outfits.
Please, can we please have these as outfits at some point in the future? They would be amazing to just wear as outfits for our armor.
Thanks if you actually read this and respond!!
I personally have really enjoyed these maps. Fighting has been a blast!!
I will be the first to say… This makes me sad. I really like the desert borderlands.
Also, I like what shadowscreed says … Will the waypoints go back to what they used to be? Please?
Town Clothing; I would still like to see these turned into Outfits that people could wear. I still don’t get why even though they were all filled out with companion parts they got released as tonics. Even if they get locked behind crafting just as a taster for people to get started with outfits.
THIS!!!
You sure can report. Submit a ticket to CS using the Support button at the top of this page. Give exact spelling of the character names. Even better, if you can give the display names (Like Fred.1234) that helps. If it’s a guild, CS needs to know which people were involved, as indicting an entire guild for the actions of individual members isn’t something we’d want to do.
You normally cannot attach screenshots to the initial ticket, but if CS needs or wants them, they’ll let you know how to send them.
I hope that helps you!
Gaile, I have suspicion that almost none of my in game reports actually make it to support. However, ever single report made from the website makes it through.
The reason I think this is the number of times I have reported stuff over and over via in game reports with attached pictures that get zero response, vs website reporting system that gets immediate response is pretty profound and significant.
Is the system bugged? Are there different people that respond via game reports vs. website reports?
I have asked GMs if they have received my in game reports before, and was told no. So now I wonder all those times I reported my missing items when the outfit system came in, all those times I reported system abuse/hackers, all the times I reported anything via in game….. Are they just lost in limbo?
Has anyone else ever experienced this, or suspected this?
I really want my bunny ears back. I filed a ticket when the outfit stuff happened, but never got them. Since I have yet to see them again, to get them back in the gem store would be nice!
Hi folks.
stuff.
more stuff?
Wheres the proof?
Oh wait, none of you are old enough to remember that classic … failed joke.
I am! and HAHAHAHAHAH! Love it!
As I’m fairly certain I pointed out, none of this has been confirmed by anyone even remotely related to Anet, but that’s partially because these beta tests have yet to happen. All that exists as far as I know are invitations extended to specific guilds. So sure, it’s conjecture and secondary sources at this point, but it’s better to be annoyed by conjecture and have Anet fix their kitten than to only accept the official statements made by Anet.
If you haven’t noticed, Anet has made no legitimate posts about WvW in many months. Small statements have been made, but nothing substantial and firm has been said about wvw developments at all. If we’re going to wait for sources to be double-checked or triple-checked, we’re never going to talk about anything. Ever. Not until it’s released, anyways.
At least you admitted to only assuming a bunch of bunk that might or might not be happening. Why even get your underpants in this much of a wad over something that might not even be a real issue? Do you just like being upset and didnt get enough kitten on your cheerios today so you decided to go kitten on the forums?
Instead of looking for something to be bitter about and creating an issue where there might not be an issue, go find something to be happy about. Its beautiful outside! The sun is out! Its Friday!
Hi folks.
I’m not sure how many of you are aware, but Anet is actually developing things for wvw. The fact that we’ve heard nothing about it is one things, but I’m here to (maybe) stir up some drama about a different aspect of this.
Anet has been inviting guilds to participate in the ‘beta’ or whatever you’d call it for WvW changes. However, of the 2 guilds I know that were invited, 1 still plays the game and it is a PvE guild. The WvW guild that I know has been invited died almost half a year ago and few of its members still play.
HOW IS THIS A THING THAT IS HAPPENING? What part of game development has its developers draw a group to test it from outside the population currently playing the content? I get maybe drawing in a few PvE folks to test things, but for the most part, when it comes to a WvW update, why do you not get actual (and current) WvW players to test things? We know the kind of kitten that went down if EotM and the desert borderlands. If Anet honestly thinks that they can pull the same kitten and get a better result, I feel even more sorry for the state of this game.
ROFL.
That’s the freaking problem, Anet invited a “PVE” (yes, read it again, PVE) guild to test the upcoming changes that they want to put into WvW. Do I need to point out what is wrong with that approach? Do we need more PvE events in WvW?
Wheres the proof?
You are all running wild with a rumor mill and an either jealous OP, or a pot stirrer.
Let this go at this point. Until you have proof of anything at all, you are all running wild with conjecture.
Thanks for the reports, everyone. We have identified the problem and are working on a fix. No need to change guild halls (unless you want to of course).
tackle hugs THANK YOU!
At least you can see it! My guild purchased the recipe right before Christmas, and never received the recipe at the scribing station!
This patch came and left, and we still dont have Guild Ballista in our recipes in our guild hall. We have purchased this, infact we have purchased almost everything for WvW…..Its all there, except for this recipe. We are changing guild halls tomorrow just to see if this will fix it. (Doubt it, but its worth a shot)
My guild has purchased it from the War Room, but we do not have the recipe in the scribing station. I know of two other guilds that can not see it, either. >.<
This recipe is still missing…
How much does a Dragon banner cost? If anyone knows the price for 1 banner, and the approximate price of the guild grind to be able to craft one. Is this P2W?
To get the upgrade your guild needs a fair bit of
goldwork;
- your aetherium capacity must be 10000 (mine level 2, with level 4 capacity upgrade)
- you need war room level 2
- you need camp, tower and keep claiming upgrades
- your guild needs to be level at least level 27 (so you probably need other unrelated upgrades as well)
The upgrade itself is pretty expensive as well, but compared to other upgrades it’s nothing special.
Once you have the upgrade, you need a level 300+ scribe however, which probably sets one back 500g+.
According to https://gw2efficiency.com/crafting/calculator making 1 dragon banner schematic costs ~3.5g at current prices, so once you have all the stuff above done, it’s pretty cheap to make.
500? Try adding at least 1 zero to that. (Im 400)
However, I love the banners. I love the updates… I think there are some things that need to be fixed, which will be when they do the WvW patch….at some point.
Dear Anet,
Why is there no ability to see who is taking siege from the WvW consumables, and also why was there no log added to see who is triggering the use of the WvW war chest (schematics)?
These take a lot of gold to make, we would really like a record of who is using them. As it is, just anyone in our guild (that has permissions) can take and use these, yet we have no record of who it is.
Instead of feeling like we just need to take away the permissions, can we just have a log?
We bought this today in our guild hall, however it did not give scribes the recipe to actually make guild ballistas.
Hell to the no. You want that, go play EotM. Dont you dare do that to WvW!!
What about the rest of us that didnt get to do it last year…… there is no hope of doing it this year? >.<
Obsidian Sanctum exists.
^^ This! I wish more people just dueling would go there. Would be so much easier, for all parties.
This just started back up today. Please make it stop. Its spamming me every minute on the minute. Does not happen in Lions Arch, is out of control in Divinity’s Reach.
(edited by Kitiara.2706)
Although there is no details or timeline, this is still great news to hear.
Or its gonna create more fear among us. What will the new stuff be, more time gating? Harder to make and less useful guild siege? Will they make +5 even harder to access?
Or better yet, let me guess, they will wipe out all the guild upgrades once we finally have access to them again, only to have them even more time gated and more expensive to make…….so we will only be left pvd’ing everything? Every “fix” they introduce creates more bugs, breaks wvw, and more silence.
Sorry, Im a bit salty….. Gonna go sit in the corner now.
To me, and I am sure it might have been said already, too. It helps the guild so the guild helps you. Also there zero reason to rush anything so you can easily group collect what you need. I know it might not sound like the best way to go, but that how I see it.
What guild has that much stuff, and gold, to go into scribing? My guild is 150 strong, and we arent poor by any means. Even with donations of gold and items, we cant come up with all that is needed to level up scribing. We dont get near enough slivers, brown pigment, or flax fibers to level this crap up!!
How are more people not raging about this? Has hardly anyone even hit 200 yet? We are still such a select few that our voices are small?
This! If it was meant as a guild effort, then it should be done by the guild, as in a system in the guild hall, if it is a personal crafting it must be treated as a personal crafting.
Exactly.
There are two primary gates on scribing.
Pigment, which is needed in large amounts to make anything and have an extremely low drop rate, and shards, which are only avaliable from guild missions.
The shards are a great example of a good gate. You’re guaranteed to get 1-5 shards per member, per guild mission. Guilds that want to benefit from scribes can effortlessly provide the scribe with 50+ shards per week. it isn’t enough to spam levels, but its enough to make roughly the same number of banners/consumables as you did in the old system with some left over for a few decorations. Just like the old system, large and more active guilds will generate more shards, but will likely consume the things they make with them at a faster rate. Shards reard scribe mats needed for guild items be doing guild content. It’s a good system. The fact you can trade them if you want to is icing on the cake. It gives guilds that don’t care about scribe stuff a way to profit off of guilds that don’t generate enough shards themselves. However, the market having stabilized on most other things, the shards are still valued higher than one would expect for a common time gated item with no other crafting ingredients.
The second gate is pigments, and this is the spot where we have a fundamental rarity problem. For each rank of a scribing recipie, you need 10 pigments, AND you need pigments of a specific color, AND certain recipies require additional pigments on top of those used to make inks. The problem here is that pigemtns are extremely rare items from plant harvesting or quite low yield salvages from dye. The system is designed in increments of ten, while the actual drop and salvage rates for pigments seem to be balances around increments of one.
All other material requirements have varying degrees of sanity. I’ve got not problem with some of the furniture being particularly expensive/rare, or the base materials cost of most of the banners, but I agree that the WvW stuff needs a serious cost overhaul (and wvw needs a serious rewards overhaul) to even be worth crafting at all.
Guild missions should pay out 3x the shards as they do currently, and all pigment costs in recipies should be divided by ten. This would fix the two primary hard gates in the system. Furthermore, WvW cost/benefit is seriously out of whack, and the costs and rewards of WvW need a total overhaul if you expect anyone to actually bother with the war room.
Thank you for every single thing you have written. If there wasnt a computer between us, I would totally kiss you! <3 (Especially the pigment and WvW statements!!)
Everything requires 10 brown dye!
Plenty of brown dyed undergarnments in raids these days, should be enough to go around.
LOL – too bad that doesnt really help the situation
I have been leveling my scribing up to help my guild, and have spent WELL over 1500g to get to level 200.
So I reached level 200 and was excited to see I could finally make guild arrow carts for my guild. This is what the recipe will require:
1 guild arrow cart will require – 5 badges of tribute, 3 arrow cart blueprints, 15 steel ingots and 125 flax fibers.
125!!!??? That means that each guild arrow cart is worth well over 10g just to make.
Now, this is just the arrow cart. Let me tell you about Ink… Oh please, let me tell you about ink.
Fine ink set requires – 1 crystalline bottle, 1 basic ink set, and 10 yellow pigment. No big deal, right? Wrong, because 1 basic ink set requires 1 crystalline bottle, 1 simple ink set, 10 red dye. Again, no biggy. But see, the simple ink set requires 1 cystalline bottle, 1 1 jug of water and 10 brown dye.
Everything requires 10 brown dye! Why are you making it so expensive and so complicated to make anything in this?! I have 1 recipe at level 200 that goes 8 levels deep. This is so much worse than even making ascended gear!!
I know you think this is a guild profession, and it would be if it was like this:
You have a scribing station that everyone comes and works at. It works for the guild. Anyone in the guild can do it, anyone in the guild can utilize it, anyone can pool their supplies together into it – but the only thing that can use the stuff from it is the guild. It stays in the guild and with the guild. That is the only way this makes sense. As it stands now, the person working on scribing is suffering, the recipes are way too complicated and too steep. Infact, I am not sure there are enough potatoes in the entire game to support this much brown dye!!!!
Please, lower these recipes, simplify them. This is beyond ridiculous.

Ahh, I stand corrected. In PvP the ranger traps do give a signal of smoke where its placed. However, in WvW it leaves a red ring. >.< I dont see any warning at all (not even black smoke when dropped) of the dragonhunter traps. I will keep testing.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trap
The only traps that leave red circles are found in the environment. Not made by players.
Wells and marks are different.
Do you WvW? (Unless it just recently changed for rangers and thieves. we are going to test this now)
(edited by Kitiara.2706)
What? There is a white ring for the person that dropped them in the case of ranger ect. There never was a red ring. I am assuming you’re talking about pvp. It’s intended. There are red rings for things like when you play against a staff ele.
In PvP and WvW, any traps, wells, marks, etc. all have red rings on them…. except for Dragonhunter. And there is no way one class is intended to have that much advantage over the others.
Ranger traps, Thief traps, they all show red rings where they dropped. Why doesnt the Dragonhunter traps show a red ring?
Is this intended, or just an over sight?
Oh god NO!!! No megaserver WvW!
Talk about entitlement. A thread like this is everything that is wrong with gaming.
People don’t even make their own PCs anymore, and play on laptops.
If you people have your way, we’ll soon be playing WvW on tablets, and swiping to cap.
You have no clue that 95% of this entire thread was sarcasm…. Are you a dev?
Pretty sure all the current changes and the new map came from threads like these.
Not our fault if the devs cant actually figure out what satire is. >.< Its pretty obvious. Either that, or they really do hate WvW and they do stuff from posts like this just to make us even more irritated.
I don’t really understand why scouts think auto-upgrades and no supply needed for them are a bad thing.
Because auto-upgrades give them no reason to be at a keep/tower/camp other than to cap it.
Yes, its as simple as that. It doesnt really have to do with scouts. It has to do with players having the very basic reason for being in WvW.
When you remove that you get a game that’s playing itself.
This was exactly my reason behind my post pleading with the devs to remove auto-upgrades. It has ruined the game for me, now I am no longer needed. After almost 3 yrs of game play…
Try posting on reddit, the devs seem to spend most of their time on that site instead of this..official…game forum site…hmm /smh
Devs dont respond to the reddit posts about WvW, either.
the problem with the troll are the troll…. not the system…. Give tools to ban the troll… Or make guild alliance, and make the game guild vs guild… Then if you have troll in your team you can just kick it out… The problem in the server mode is that you can’t choose your ally, and then you have troll….
The previous upgrade system was very good, maybe except the gold cost (and this one never disturb me)… No need to destroy everything because anet is unable to ban troll / hacker (yes because we speak about troll, but what about the hacker who where never ban ?)That the thing EVERYONE is a troll even ppl who do not mean to be. If your a new player you have no ideal what going on and to be able to chose an upgrade by any one is a significant cost of time for every one on the map. To keep it a chose of one person for a full world is a bad ideal. The auto upgrades you do lose a bit of personally and meaning to them but you stop making it a “dumb dictatorship” type of system.
Now there is nothing wrong with making the upgrade time longer and make the yacks more time reduction making yack def and ganking a lot more of a thing. But to go back to a single person chose type of system is not only a bad ideal but a dangerous one.
I think what a lot of people are talking about is simply making the available upgrades require an actual person at the camp or tower to trigger then when they become available, if no one is there, then the progression stops until the available upgrade is triggered. So there aren’t any choices per say, but structures won’t just go to tier 3 just sitting there. I also would like to see the timers on upgrades be a bit longer than currently set.
^^^ Exactly my point. (However, I knew you would get it
)
You may like it like this, but there was an entire group of people that thoroughly enjoyed doing the upgrades all day. Do we even matter?
Well, technically I wouldnt just stand there. I was bouncing all over 1 map upgrading stuff. Preparing for prime time, getting it sieged up, ready for the fights. It was fun, it was building anticipation.
I respect your personal preference, but to most of us who did it, we only did it because we had to as no one else wanted to do it. It may be fun for you to sit there for 5-6 hours, watching for swords on all your objectives, constantly running in circles upgrading this or that… but to most people that wasn’t fun gameplay. It’s something most who did it were basically forced to do if we wanted to be competitive.
The problem is that the player who like this play style was the core team for the off peak time… Those player where here to fight against the ennemy roamer… And then give something to do for the roamer… And those people make the map alive…
Now without those people when the casual player join he just see an empty map… And he won’t do anything without a tag… This map have killed the core players… All the other won’t join if those core player are not here…
You need a minimum level of population doing something on the map, if you remove the “job” who was done by this core people, then those people don’t play… And then your map are dead….
You just have people at prime time for fight or KT…
exactly this!!!
Okay, I get your point there. I guess I am baffled why you what them to make a change in order to
standing around the upgrading keeps, towers, and camps.
I just do not understand wanting a game change so anyone can “stand around”. That seems counter productive and counterintuitive to the game mode itself.
Well, technically I wouldnt just stand there. I was bouncing all over 1 map upgrading stuff. Preparing for prime time, getting it sieged up, ready for the fights. It was fun, it was building anticipation.
And replace it with what?
They changed it from the old system because they were demanded to do so by posters here. Before, it could be trolled by supply trolls.
I am not certain why so many posters are in favor of a system that was heavily trolled.
Why were you not championing the cause when we had multiple threads spammed with demands to change the system to prevent those game breaking trolls?
Replace it needing a real person to trigger it. It can even stay in the order they choose it to be in. Let it stay free, let it not use supply. Just require an actual person to trigger it. Makes sense?
WvW playing itself is just not a good environment. My guild LOVED standing around the upgrading keeps, towers, and camps. It was quite an accomplishment. Not only that, it made my entire guild want to defend, and brought out the other server who wanted to break down the walls we spent all day upgrading. And vice versa. Nothing quite as challenging as going and knocking down all the walls of that fortified keep some group of people spent all their time working on. And, they wanted to defend, as well.
It helped fights! I mean, come on. Its completely boring with auto upgrades.
(edited by Kitiara.2706)
This is a public plea to the devs to please get rid of auto upgrades on everything.
Keep it so its no cost, but please, make it go back to a person required to actually trigger the upgrades. It seems to be killing the game play more deeply than any other changes that have been put into WvW with HoT.
Begging you, can you please just remove this one thing and see if it helps the situation……………..at least a little?
Thanks.
I hate those notifications, so much.
