No dear, it’s very much in your hands; we’re not the PuGs, and they’re not here reading this. The people posting in this thread are, time and time again, telling you how big their guilds are and what they enjoy doing.

There were quite a lot of [WvW] that were there this morning, which is why I replied to that specific post and that part of it because he is part of that guild, so I guess those people are here reading this after all.

So to those people – and not you as you have no control over or want any part of that side of the game on your sever – if you want more open field fights small skirmishes GvG etc, you’ll most likely find alot more of it if you don’t golem rush everything in sight at every possible opportunity. Doesn’t bother me if you do it but you probably won’t find alot around fighting that way, your choice i don’t mind, just throwing it out there.

Both UW and RoF most likely won’t be as we’ll be in your situation from the last few weeks of scraping to get/hold every tower we can with little time for that. Little tip might be to not golem rush our stuff when you have such superior numbers and I guess we’ll see what we can do. It’s in your hands really.

At this point we are losing to Dzag and AS harder than we did to Gandara and Drakkar Lake. I hope RoF wakes up quicker because this is making us look bad

Good luck RoF, suppose a matchup with AG is about as bad as with Gandara. Just make the best of it, like you did against our numbers.

So far it’s worse because DL don’t seem to be pulling their usual sort of numbers and we haven’t got a second server the size of you or MS so there isn’t much holding AG in check atm, guess we’ll see how it go’s but AG need more competition from DL atm.

to ROF and DL: please don’t let this week affect your opinion of AG, we aren’t normally like this, we are just delighted that we’re not the ones being dominated for once, so we’re making the most of it, I personally am not going to command much this week, I’m going to solo roam. AG have only become like this because of influence from AM and RS, we hate playing like it but it’s slowly but surely becoming our natural instinct to place down acs and blob up, I for one am guilty of this, I placed down an ac on the outside of SM to kill a 10 man group, I regret my actions and wish to apologize to ROF for that . I know the feeling that you get when you’re against a too op enemy and I hate the feeling, you have my full sympathy, in fact, I’m actually tempted to send one of you some ac blueprints to relieve myself from the guilt.

Lovely sentiments but you guys play however you want to with mass numbers of PvE dragon hunters and all, we’ve so far gained +6 rating on you +83 on DL and will probably take rank 20 on RoS this week with our sights set on 19th in place of GH.

Ultimately this week RoF can’t lose as there’s nothing really to upgrade or hold just ninja stuff and hopefully some decent open field fights. In the greater scheme we have a stress free week focusing on fun fights while both you and DL scramble around trying to find something to do so don’t feel sorry for us

Why are so many AG posting as if RoF has never seen/experienced or partaken of maximum numbers in a map at a time? Kind of posting that it’s bad yet saying you guys ain’t seen anything, yet at the same time sort of boasting how common a thing it is when you climb this high lol. Well we have trust me, not often thankfully and when we do it’s pointless and most log off because you can’t actually fight anything except for lag and your keyboard trying to get a skill to fire. This is sort of a guide which I go by as a RoF’er.

1) Small to medium group – 5-20
2)Large to hard (if it’s guild only) 20-40
3)Zerg 40-60
4)Blob 60-100

I’ve seen all of these though thankfully few number 4’s and if I had seen or experienced alot of number 4 then I wouldn’t have stayed in that tier or server for very long as it’s good for nothing but a youtube vid showing why mid-high tier is nothing but an intensive skill #1 training exercise.

Maybe you AG’ers are saying this because a couple RoF here have posted about blobs when they see 20 people at a gate, they don’t mean it it’s just a sort of insult to try and get you to break your numbers more into more managable chunks, although sadly this often has a worse turnout for us as there are so many of them then

Well next day after reset and it’s nice to see AG haven’t got enourmous groups running around the place just numerous small ones of about 15-20 which is still way too much for us but good to see all the same. We’ll still get pounded but I think we’ll get some nice fights and successful defenses/attacks in between.

No where near as bad as Gandara sized groups but they had single guild groups of about 30 that only fight by themselves ofc, but that happened to be within 1 metre of another 30 man Gandara guild all the time :p

Not at all as it is, but this sort of thing tends to snowball, I have experienced it multiple times in several games. Already we go from what’s red is dead to politely clapping on the sidelines and hopping up and down excitably to show you don’t mean to wipe them just watch, and this game isn’t even a year old. This will come around to bite you trust me.

Sadly when everyone in WvW only plays for fair fights and sportsmanship you usually end up in a situation where 10 people watch 5 people take your camp because it wouldn’t be ‘fair’ or a ‘good fight’ if you interrupted them. This sort of behaviour gets silly real fast trust me. It’s the PvP equivalent of being a carebear, but by all means continue to pat each others backs on a fight well played at the cost and detriment of healthy enmity, server pride and the point of WvW.

I guess you can’t blame the players so much just the devs for letting WvW get so boring there’s nothing left but to stand in a circle and watch two people fight, how depressing :p

Well TaG have definately made the right choice in leaving RoF, this server it seems isn’t for you guys and hasn’t been for some time. I wish you all the best wherever you go and hope you find what you are looking for. Thank you for your help and time spent with us. I hope you don’t find yourself being the top guild/group on a server always complimented in each matchup to being the smallest and most insignificant one that’s does nothing noteworthy above the other 10 far bigger guilds you find yourself allied with, which isn’t probably a problem for you so long as they have better coordination maybe?

Didn’t really want to be snide in this post just pointing out what you’ll face with transfer and whether it’s still worth it. Notoreity is surely very important when it’s only a game you’re playing and you’ll risk losing it with transfer as you are still quite small in GW2 guild size….just saying.

Isn’t it a kind of contradiction in argument? What is it besides GvG and open field that is “alot for the server” if “rank have 0 purpose anymore”?

I guess really just having as many towers as possible our colour, you know, for morale, so when random people log on and see we are doing well they feel they want to contribute so fight more and when pugs are 80% of the WvW population they need map colour and towers for encouragement to fight as they don’t have guilds to tell them where to be and what to do. When this happens a server has more people fighting for them so win more, this is what I mean by “alot for the server”.

It won’t damage RoF as tier and rank have 0 purpose anymore, they’ll probably transfer and get either steamrolled or a dull week the same as the rest of us which they also know and leads me onto another point.

With them knowing this then they don’t really care about gaining points, taking towers or boosting servers only GvG matches all around the maps which doesn’t do alot for the server in general, from this I think RoF will be just fine as 80% of our WvW population are pugs and has been for a while (probably another reason they are leaving).

I don’t know exactly which guilds but I do know the top commanders in our top guilds haven’t commanded our main forces in some time and have been guild only. Our recent tower takeovers in our BL and EB are down to new commanders or ones that have quite small guilds and are still happy to command pugs.

We’ll be just fine as there are no tiers anymore and you can jump to fighting servers 9 ranks above or below you so what difference?

Need to watch the social etiquette thing in WvW really, fair enough if people want to be nice or duel but no one should ever be punished or looked down upon for playing WvW in any style that’s within the games not players rules.

At the end of 2 years playing Aion it just became a joke with duelling and private battles to the point where you never knew if you should help someone or let them fight, either way you usually got moaned at, it got stupid because most of it went on during a fortress battle and right outside it. Behind the windmill fair enough, anywhere else, everything’s fair imo. 1vs1’s are great just don’t expect a universal rule anywhere within WvW maps or that only nice duellers use the /bow emote, alot of kittens do it as well as a form of mocking.

They made this new system in order to make match ups less stale yet when you can look at one at the start of a week and instantly know no matter how hard any one side fights you can call who will be first, second and third, I’d say that is as stale as you can get.

Secondly everyone who has taken every single tower 1000 times from every conceivable angle know’s how boring PvD is and gaining points is, the only reason people did it and tried so hard was to stay in or raise a tier for their server. That all went out of the window with the RNG element so no one really cares anymore hence the massive raise in small scale GvG/duels in WvW maps which closes out alot of the point of WvW for players that might be new to it.

WvW maps and content haven’t been touched since release only rubbish tweaks and nerfs really and crazy amounts of PvE content. They try to make better sPvP when no one really wants it unless it’s pretty much the opposite of what it is now and ignore anything major for WvW. They seem to have had a set plan for content from realease and rather than listening to players or impact they just solidly stick to the same route. WvW has so much more potential if only they would dedicate more resource to it.

It wasn’t so bad, especially that insanely long fight between garrison and Dawns on thursday, no stacking, no fields, no condition removal, just kitten loads of siege and 100 rambo’s on the field. It was tons of fun, thanks for that FoW.

They were 2 weeks ago and providing some excellent 1vs1 fights

In this new exciting matcup system you have in place Anet 2/3 weeks have been blowouts one way or another, how many people do you want to just not play this game for whole weeks at a time? I understand you don’t want to make changes on immediate reactions to let things settle but you need to understand that this was a horrible idea in the first place on your part, so change it again and we’ll say no more.

Guess it’s a good thing VcY kicked back into action last week because you’re going to need all the help you can get. Don’t be sad look at our matchup

if you guys fight each other enough you’ll get some surprise takeovers, if you plan on always going for the easier points to beat each other then it’ll be a 2 horse race. Depends on what sort of servers you are, always looking for a good fight or getting that extra point wherever you can.

OMG guys WSR just took Umberglade, no wait that was just the ogres and RoS didn’t have anyone defending it

A good matchup guys, alot more fun than the last two weeks which is proven out by this heated thread. RoF are mostly just annoyed we can’t go head to head with RoS at this time without WSR jumping in and not only never touching RoS but not getting attacked back much either, it’s a shame but part and parcel of a 3 way fight (and bad sportsmanship) but all is fair in love and war :p

Even after Krew left GH still won the last matchup 80k points in the lead, it was however with FIRE so no idea what it would be like now. GH can be very strong or weirdly weak, it seems to vary alot but fighting against CHvC was fun, more so because of it’s open field fighting than VcY with it’s running up to the stairs – Line of Warding – AoE bomb tactic that soo many RoF commanders still insisted on stacking against… -.- It would be a classic matchup.

Yesterday morning I let 8 FoW take their garrison back, it was with reinforced gates and 750 supply and I got there when outer was at 90%. I can’t tell you how hard it was to NOT use the oil or put up a sup AC but I didn’t and they got it. EB I struggle with even more, it just goes against everything letting them take it. A FoW teamed me and I said to take the oil down before another RoF comes and uses it, he said “yeah they’ve been screaming that in chat for a bit” but they did then, then took it, then attacked me

I don’t want to take any pride away from either Vabbi or FoW, they have great players and with numbers to match RoF it would be a tight match based on that quality. But numbers are what wins the race so respect for any WvW’er on those servers fighting the frustrating fight this week.

If there’s a jobs going for semi-invincible Vabbi/FoW Gamemasters that require at least 4 AC’s can 3 shot NPC lords, that need about 20 people to down and does ram damage to gates…..I’ll take it!!!!!

P.S. I accept most forms of payment but coffee beans are preferred and I require few toilet breaks.

See, Devon Carver kind of passed this situation off as something both FoW and Vabbi have been experiencing for months so not much to worry about and business as usual. I don’t think he knew though just how much worse it would be for you guys versus fighting against AS or BT when you at least had a chance to take something at some point. Maybe when he finds out it can be adjusted that the rng factor hasn’t got so wide a range and we don’t get ridiculous weeks like this one.

But hey, Anet uses hammers instead of pliers and tests everything….in real time, so just wait it out I suppose and hope everyone hangs around for the fix.

Being a competetive tier 7 server placed into tier 9 means I can go look into a couple new games knowing i’m not missing anything to do on GW2. Not even really being sarcastic. Games are addictive and once they lose that and the purpose being in them it means you can try all those games you’ve had on a to do list for a while so i’m cool with it.

Don’t think it would be a very good idea to be honest. Everyone would ignore the lower ranks and you’d have 30 people single out and focus just one player for the extra WXP. It would make higher ranks not want to go out and about as much which was the issue with Aion although in this you wouldn’t lose rank like Aions system, it would still be a pain. I remember how much it sucked being chased around Ingg/Gelk and the Abyss by 20 people as 5* and up with transform on CD.

Yeah well anyway I’m thinking this matchup will be good for RoF, enough hard zerg fights from AS and plenty of GvG stuff to satisfy guilds like TaG and NAZ from WSR. It’s been trying and often boring fighting both RoS and Dzag as RoS had many strong guilds to keep us stuck on our BL and Dzagonur were just a pain due to their oppotunistic tendancies taking everything right behind RoS or at exactly the same time they were attacking.

We need our Dragon hunters to return and give rightful explanation for RoF’s ‘high population’ to put us back on track. Looking forward to it as AS seem to get stronger and stronger and WSR has so many individuals that never give up and give excellent 1vs1.

I don’t want to start a flame war but just want to put out a suggestion… feel free to say, ‘no’ but I just want to assess what people’s feelings on other servers are…

Do you want rid of RoS? So that you can get back to a more balanced even match up? Or are you happy to have us around dominating the tier for large periods of time?

If you want rid of us… would you be prepared to take a small break from WvW and time your tick to keep you in the tier but basically let RoS tick a minimum of +500 for a week to help push us that little extra to move up and out of the tier?

I beginning to think that the tier above is manipulating their ticks to keep things static.

Anycase, I thought I would throw that out there because I expect a lot of people are thinking similar sort of things.

I, and my guild, are quite happy to fight the other servers if that is their wish. Just wanted an idea on what their views were on whether they wanted us to move up or whether they wanted to do their best to surpass us or foil our attempts at moving up a tier.

Your core players want as every server does, that is to win alot and rank up as much as possible, unfortunately for them your majority of bandwagon guilds don’t really give a fig about taking towers or watching the points, they are here for one reason and one reason only, and that is to farm WXP/loot bags and be able to have as much open field PvP as possible when they want without having to join a queue for it.

UW, DL and at the time MS absolutely creamed us to the point they had constantly fully upgraded all of EB and we had to fight alot just to re take and hold our BL alone each day so we’d much rather you than them in tier 7.

You have enough people to be in tier 6 but it’s them you need to ask for help from and not us. With your current numbers though tier 6 is as high as you will get I think and you may get beat there…just sayin not trying to be a kitten about it.

Thanks to GH for the last few weeks it has been alot of fun especially after Krew left and you showed you didn’t really even need them. I certainly feel for you playing in Tier 7 for the next week or longer just because even after RoS move up you’ll still have to fight a Tier 6 which is no fun I found

It’s at times like this I’m actually grateful RoF was classed as high population and so exempt from free transfers or cheaper ones. Even getting beat quite bad a server generally always learns and improves i’ve noticed and I’m very proud of RoF to what we have achieved in terms of end of week points even with 0 transfers to us.

Looking forward to tier 8, I enjoyed fighting WSR last time they have some excellent single players and they never give up.

1) On sunday night, I wouldnt have wanted to predict a winner.
But I toss my MF-Helmet to GH for winning once again. And if you check the ratings, they blew DZ and RoF out of the park compared to the match up before leading with 83.000-85.000 points compared to last weeks lead of 53.000 to 55.000.

2) i got it fastest defending our overlook keep in EB against enemy zergs.
I am not sure which guild claimed it but i cant remember that we lost it and i dont think that it ever was without a waypoint when i was online. I also dont remember to see either one of GH´s or DZ´s keeps on EB flip when i was online, so i guess that observation goes three ways.

1) On a night of say 5-6 hours you make about 10k points when you own most towers and keeps, the lead GH has works out exactly with Krew’s activities and that only, which as you rightly pointed out during prime time the lead per tick wasn’t anything to write home about. They won by an extra 30k points this week and sure enough Krew were not around at the very beginning of the week before, coincedence?

2) Yes we lost Overlook most evenings, last night we lost it at 4:30am although not to Krew actually. It had 5 defenders and 1700 supply in it
By the time you come on we have re-taken/upgraded it again a.s.a.p.
Dzagonurs Keep and corner were always the first to fall though, they came to Overlook last.

None of this is really on a sour note however it might sound, i’m just a bit dissapointed as the first SM rush on reset two weeks ago our forces were so even I thought we’d be fighting inside SM all night long. After the first day the win could have literally gone to anyone. GH have a fine fighting force and win battles without Krew sure enough, entire weeks though…..we’ll never know now

Ughh just saw a 700 supply tower go down because we had 8 people in all of EB, every time this happens I swear i’m not going to spend another 1.5g upgrading/escorting dolyaks and from now on i’m not going to. Far too much frustration and it makes me give too much of a kitten when you get 30 Americans swarm all over the tower.

I suppose I said some unecessary things and it’s mostly because of the cash i kept losing for nothing. GH you play the game as Anet gives it to you – genius free transfers after stopping them because they were a dim idea in the first place – an all. I can’t fault your server or those who join you, you fight well good luck HF.

Well Krew have just gone to bed and surely enough left GH 6k points in the lead after an exhausting night of PvDoor’ing. They came up against 6 defenders in Mendon and Ogrewatch though so it took the 25 of them, wait for it…..4 hours to take those two towers. Another Xaoc all over, GH rises up a tier or so comes up against another night crew, Krew get fed up of the connection they have and leave them, then GH plummet back down to where they should be. I like even matches guys even if you win, how about you ditch the yanks and come fight us toe to toe on this huh?

Ahh so Krew moved from tier 3 U.S to tier 7 EU? Odd decision IMO at this level your opponent servers have little to no night time coverage so you’re going to be hitting alot of doors and not much else, maybe Krew doesn’t leave many alive but here that’s because there was no one around in the first place

Maybe you can boost GH to higher tiers who also have U.S transfers and fight uhh exactly the same people you were fighting in the first place but for better ping.

Sorry i’m trying my hardest not to be an kitten but I don’t really get it, but then again I felt EU and U.S servers should be separate, either that or no more free transfers, because RoF is High population yet Dzagonur and Gunnars Hold are medium which is only taking into account PvE population which means only bad things and more unbalance for WvW hence the 50k lead last week.

I’ve not seen any teaming up ar anything personally, red has always been easier or more natural to attack from both blue and green but they should be changing that soon and rotating the colours regardless of rank placement.

Well had some nice fights this week better than in quite some time.

GH you owe a massive thanks to your 20+ strong single guild night capping players ‘Krew’ because without them you’d have upgraded structures to fight for instead of wooden ones and the points would be ALOT closer than they are now, your lead comes from these people as you know in prime time the scores have been very equal. Yes i’m jealous RoF doesn’t have one of course :P but it’s still meh. But well done, well played all.

I dislike SW alot. It takes alot out of using siege against siege. It turns an outmanned fight where you could be running aournd a tower thinking of the best siege/placement to counter it to standing on the wall watching them like a kitten It favours zerg warfare more and unbalances further an already unbalanced fight.

GH you absolute boneheads, start attacking Dzag kitten Just press B and that is where you see how many points your server is currently earning. From there you usually attack whichever server is closest to you on points, especially if that server is only 1k ahead. If you just love fighting us and don’t care on winning or losing fair enough but I think you do…or should.
