playing a game after you’ve bought the right to play it doesn’t count as “free.” You paid for it. It doesn’t matter how long you play it. If it did, they should just specify…. for example, $50 = x amount of play time.

I just don’t understand why people can’t see the business side of Anet. Anet’s first and most important goal is to make money. And they have made it blatantly obvious that, like walmart, they don’t care how long you’ve been a customer or how much you’ve spent on their services.

Thus, as a customer it, is our duty to tell them what we want, and give them feedback about their practices. This is basic supply and demand. And if you really look at it, a lot of the “new features”, are things vet players have been asking for over the years.

If you feel great about your purchases, that’s great. But please don’t tell the rest of us to stop giving feedback. Anet is not a charity. If they want to make more money, all they have to do is listen to their customers and give us what we want, that is within reason. Also the fact that people are here giving feedback shows that they really care about this game.

Aren't you all taking this too far?

I simply want ANET to know this, I will not purchase HoT for more than $20. I also will not purchase any more gems until the price drops.

I know i’m one person, and this stand won’t change anything, but it’ll make me feel better about the situation. Good luck playing HoT all. Imma continue to play vanilla and enjoy having $50 in my pocket.

Ofc full time youtubers think its worth it, because to them, it is an investment. The more content there is, the more videos they can make.

New comers get GW2 with HoT for $50, which is a good price. But for someone who already has GW2 and paying $50 just to add a miniscule amount of content (compared to the content in Gw2 vanilla) is just wrong.

All cleric (0-0-6-6-2). Dogged March, Cleasing Ire, Spiked Armor, Lung capacity, Shrug it off, Vigorous Shouts, signet mastery.

Sigil of benevolence, Delicious Rice Ball, and Rune of the monk.

With a full stack from sigil of benevolence, you’ll have an 32.5% healing effectiveness towards allies, which means your shouts heals allies for 4k hp, and you are healed for 3k hp. If you take “shake it off,” “for grape justice,” and “on my mark,” you can pump out 12k hp every 24 seconds for your allies and 9k for yourself.

If played correctly, you’d be really hard to kill. 1 on 1’s with power thieves and medi guards will result in stalemates.

Bp was more than just move out of the circle, it was a near permanent combo field which offered the thief and his/her team huge advantages (blind on entry, blind on projectile finisher, stealth on blast, and stealth on leap). Also, the range of bp is larger than the circle indicates. Standing right outside field will result in blind (try it for yourself). I know there are ways of counter play, but it involves a huge amount of condi removal, immunity, and dodging bullets (which aren’t telegraphed that well). This ain’t the matrix… there just wasn’t enough dodges and condi-removal to counter the blind spam. Sure you could probably build for it, but hitting like a wet noodle doesn’t do anybody any good. Pvp should be about skill and not cheap builds with gimmicky skills.

BP is a shot to the face, and a ground shot. So if you fail to see the shot to the face (because it’s not telegraphed well), you are already blinded, then you have to somehow reach the thief who is sitting in the field spamming auto attack, stacking more blinds, and when you finally reach him/her the field blinds you.

I recently started playing thief, and it has been fun.

[Suggestion] Make warhorn #4 a 5 target cap

in Warrior

Posted by: Krisztian.8405

Krisztian.8405

Considering that the procs are probably RNG based, I don’t think it deserves the bat. The range on Charge is 1200, if the zerg doesn’t have a huge tail, everyone has a fair chance of having the condi/boon swap proc on them, including the people at the back, where it would be wasted. Also, if multiple warriors are running warhorn, there is a chance that it will proc on the same people. So the first charge will remove a condition on that person, and the following charges will just add swiftness depending on whether the enemy was able to apply another condition. Also there are boon stripping skills and corruption, so there is counter play. Not to mention that most of the converted boons have durations of 3 seconds, with the exception of vigor. Call to arms has a range of 600, and because it is a blast finisher, it will most likely be reserved for blasting water on the commander. On paper it sounds really strong, but it just doesn’t work the way you’d want it to.

GM Trait for Banner [Suggestion]

in Warrior

Posted by: Krisztian.8405

Krisztian.8405

Demoralizing Banner

With this trait active, and while Warrior is within range of “their” banner, any boon applied between pulses is removed, corrupted, and applied to enemy players within range of banner, up to five players on the next pulse.

The negative side effect of this trait will obviously prevent the warrior from applying any boons to themselves (well for greater than 3 secs).

The positive side effects are:
“for grape justice” could be used to apply “blind and weakness”
SOR could be used to apply (cripple, blind, and weakness)
Synergy with “Inspiring battle Standard” could provide an aoe poison (the range might have to be adjusted for this one)
“Forceful Great sword” will apply weakness on critical
“Furious Speed” will apply cripple
“Furious Reaction” will apply blind and bleed
“Opportunist” will apply blind

The list goes on… The interesting thing would be that the conditions won’t be applied until the next pulse. So there is a little room for boons to be stolen before they are applied to enemy, perhaps the interval can be increased, or an increasing radius aoe circle can be implemented to show enemy players the pulse so they can dodge it.

Also, banners could have a dark aura.

I think account-bound precursors should be able to be crafted in the MF with the following recipe:

1 Gift of Exploration
1 Gift of Battle
1 Reward from a PVP reward track (un-opened)
1 Pact Victory Token

If you choose this method, you’d be limited to 1 legendary per char, and # of chars legendaries per account. So to get a free precursor, you’d have to level a char up to 80, complete story, map completion, use a reward from a pvp track which takes a minimum of four days, and a use a gift of battle.

Be honest, are warriors actually doing this, or do you want to nerf brawler’s recover because you are having a hard time maintaining your 25 stacks of bleeds, torment, confusion, or immobilize. Exploiting BR in the before mentioned methods sound like terrible ideas.

Firstly, picking up banners isn’t instantaneous and you have to stand still. The channel time to pick it up is just over a second or two. Most tonics also lock weapon skills, so if you are a nike warrior, you can’t use your gs or sword for your motion skills.

The only application I can think of using banner/tonics to remove conditions are if you are defending a tower or keep. But even then, you have to get off your siege just to remove your conditions. Warrior rifle and longbows are terrible on walls (unless you are on edge where you can be pulled off).

Also, wouldn’t the best option be to simply fix bundles and tonics to not proc weapon swap traits (except for engineer skills)?

Less nerfing and more loving!

Move Merciless Hammer to Strength

in Warrior

Posted by: Krisztian.8405

Krisztian.8405

Berserker’s power gives you a flat 15% damage bonus on all skills including burst provided you have the adrenaline, which is 8% greater than burst mastery. Also, with only 6 points in strength, you have 8 point remaining. You could easily swing armored attack and with three points to spare. Also, with the potential to perma weaken, you could grab cull the weak for +5% more damage.

Move Merciless Hammer to Strength

in Warrior

Posted by: Krisztian.8405

Krisztian.8405

only, gs is a clumsy weapon. Rush rarely hits. Whirlwind can be tricky to aim. 100b has a long channel…blah, blah, blah. Hammer isn’t, and it hits harder. Plus, strength’s secondary stat is condition duration. Hammer 2 would have a 10s weakness on a 9 cd, and Hammer 3 would have a 9s cripple on a 9s cd. So for 6 points, a warrior could perma cripple and weaken, while hitting super hard. That’s not counting runes/sigils/food.

With this suggestion, you’re replacing one evil with an even monstrous one.

Also, merciless hammer only increases damage when the foe is disabled. So stun breakers are an obvious counter.

Move Merciless Hammer to Strength

Hammer is a power based weapon, and putting merciless hammer in strength will result in great synergy.

As a master trait, I would expect to it to be moved to the master tier of strength. If that happens, with six points in strength, you’ll be able to get Merciless hammer + Berserker’s Power. Add sigils of impact and force, and you could reach +50% damage on hammer skills provided you have full adrenaline and your enemy is knocked down. Plus, you could still add runes of the scholar for + 10% more damage.

Can you imagine +60% damage earthshaker? or 3k auto attacks with zerk gear?

Personally, I’m for this suggestion. Zerk hammer warriors would rise again!

Fire Magic:
IX: Fire’s Embrace
III: Ember’s Might

Earth Magic:
II: Signet Mastery
VII: Strength of Stone
XII: Written in Stone

Arcane Power:
III: Final Shielding
X : Arcane Energy

Here’s the link to the build

Here’s a link to the terrible video

In the video, I forgot fire’s embrace.

The interesting thing about this build is that you get 25% endurance with each signet with the exception of the signet of restoration, which gives 75%. Plus you get a 3 sec fire shield with each signet use. If you take focus, you get a 5 sec fireshield on focus 5. With the sigils you get 50% endurance and 3 stacks of might on attunement swap. With the food, you get endurance regen (40%) plus might on dodge.

What are some interesting builds you’ve come up with?

Anet should put mounts in the game that are purely cosmetic and affect no one because I’m willing to pay for them. While fun for us, the makers of this game are hoping to make money from us. When GW2 no longer become profitable, the game gets scrapped. I’m throwing money at them, how is it logical for them, who are trying to make money, to ignore my offer. Especially, when we already have the broom and tunneling toys. How much more effort for them to reskin them (broom and tunneling toys) into a dolyak or something and let people buy them?

It’ll be like riding brooms with perm swiftness (which I already do), but with more options for customizing. I have the broom and tunneling toy, but I want more, and I don’t mind buying gems to obtain them.

I have map completion, and I’ve leveled several alts via hearts. However, after a while running between the same quests gets a little dull, and it would be nice to have something new to spice up the gameplay, even if the excitement lasts for a few weeks.

With waypoints, 100% swiftness uptime, and 25% perm movement speed, mounts are useless, which makes them the perfect cosmetic item. The difference between my warrior running with swiftness and riding a mount would be that i don’t have to hear that annoying warhorn or hear SOR activating every few seconds.

I don’t think they should be used in WVW or pvp, but for pve it would be awesome.

The solution to the healing signet is called, “superior sigil of doom.” It has an ICD of 9 seconds, and a base duration of 6 seconds. Your next attack after you swap weapons, poisons. With 50% condition duration provided by food (koi cakes) and toxic oils, stones, or crystals, you can make it near permanent.

Just burst, swap weapons, and poison. The charge doesn’t leave if they dodge, just try again. I mean what are the warrior going to do, blind spam you?, go into stealth?, distract you with clones?, make you accidentally use the charge on a pet or an army of minions?

If they run away, then you’ve won.

[Suggestion] Random Skill unlocks

in WvW

Posted by: Krisztian.8405

Krisztian.8405

I was thinking of ways to make wvw more interesting, and I came up with this idea.

Random skill unlocks

With this system, whenever a player enters or dies and respawns in wvw they are rolled a chance for a special skill. Upon receiving the skill they will be given a chance to accept it or not.

For example, I might log into wvw and get astra projection (for example). Allies and enemies will appear as friendlies and I would go unseen except by my group. I could then infiltrate the enemy zerg and report their activities to my commander. However, if I encounter an enemy astra projector, he would be able to see and kill me. If he succeeds in killing me, the enemy’s commander mini map will show my zergs location for 10 seconds. The same goes for me, if i manage to kill the enemy astra projector. When I die, i lose the skill and given a chance for it or another cool skills.

The skill doesn’t have to be astra projection, but something random and cool for instance:

Mini-map saboteur: enemies within range of a guy with this skill mini map goes
black for a few seconds.
Repair Saboteur: This guy goes to enemy structures and starts a fake repair. It
makes a fake structure (similar to an illusion) where enemies
dump their supplies thinking they are repairing it, when in
actuality the hole is still there.
Kamikaze: Give this skill to a tank and he could run into a zerg and down anyone
within range. The downside would be that he can’t be rezzed and has to
respawn.

I think adding some fun (random) skills would turn wvw on its head

[Suggestion] New Pet and Skill

in Ranger

Pet : Bat
Skill: Echo-location
Description: Bat climbs several hundred units in the air, and uses its echo location to reveal the enemy’s position on mini map within a several hundred unit radius of the ranger. Stealth-ed enemy positions are only revealed on the mini map. Based on scale of map you’d either see dots or enemy profession symbols (similar to pvp)

Pros:
Gain information on enemy locations.
Pet remains out of combat until the ranger swaps pets.

Cons:
This bat skill doesn’t offer any offensive/defensive bonuses, draw aggro, or absorb damage for ranger.

Krisztian.8405

Shield 5 is not enough because it does not offer any counter play being a complete 360 degree invul, and you can only use it once per 24 seconds. In combat, 24 seconds is a long time to be defenseless. Sure you can say, warriors have high base armor and hp. Even with warrior’s high base armor, with no toughness, you are glass. So they are stuck with builds which center around toughness, whether that being power bunker or condi bunker.

This skill will introduce more blocks so that a warrior’s substain will be their hands and not in some signet which is about to be nerfed and eventually nerfed into the ground or stacking toughness. I would love to use my zealot, rabid, or zerk gear in wvw, but i can’t because some type of bunker will always outlast me with damage I could have mitigated with a block but forced to tank because I was out of dodges.

I guess you can say, Kris, L2P. I’m trying man, i’m tryin.

There were a lot of things I considered when I came up with this idea. If the synergism is too good, it could easily be considered op.

For instance, allowing it to be fully listed as a burst skill will allow a reduction in cool down by up to 30% and use 33% less adrenaline with burst mastery. Since the skill is already on a 5 sec cool down, a 30% reduction would reduce it to 3.5 sec. On top of that, it would also synergize with cleansing ire. So you’ll basically have 2 sec frontal attack invul and a condi removal on a 3.5 sec cd. Then you could use Healing surge, Signet of Fury, or Berserker’s stance to refill your adrenaline which would allow you to spam. A condi removal every 3.5 secs with a block seems pretty OP to me.

Don’t get me started on how useful this skill would be if it worked with missile reflection.

The warrior profession is really attack heavy. You keep attacking until your opponent dies, then you’re the winner. With this skill I hope to see more back and forth. With more defensive skills, maybe people would be more open to using other builds besides the “I iz immortal pvt.” I recently crafted a set of zealot gear, but since healing doesn’t scale well with my defenses, i’m basically glass. However, if i had this skill, i’ll be better able to defend myself, and I’ll have to do it actively. I’ll have to watch for burst skills and carefully position myself to counter when they fail. My failure would result in my death. If I win, it would be because I fought well, and not because I had great regen backing me up.

Sure, you may say. Kris, just roll another class. I have, but I’ve played warrior since the head start. I remember times when I was the only warrior in a zerg. The only time I truly felt alive was in the zerker meta. Thieves would come out of no where and gank you. Other classes have great ways of defending themselves while warriors have to depend on passive bs. I ultimately want to see the warrior profession reach its potential.

Here’s my vision:
Warrior sees attack coming and raises shield. Guardian’s leap of faith hits nothing but shield. Warrior then uses shield bash, and opens with flurry. Guardian quickly switches to hammer and banishes warrior off cliff.

That would have been a hilarious and fun fight for both sides.

Dagger, Swords, and Greatsword

in Profession Balance

Posted by: Krisztian.8405

Krisztian.8405

All i’m saying is this doesn’t make sense. Dagger attacks are quick because the weapon is small. Swords are slower because they are larger, and Greatswords are slower still. However when the range is the same for dagger and gs, why does gs swing have to be twice as slow. True, gs are supposed to do more damage per hit, but the trade off for daggers is that they have more hits per second. Damage is a direct result from the force required to sling the blade, and that force is determined by the blade’s moment of inertia, and the moment of inertia is calculated by using the length of the blade. They are totally ignoring length of the blade. Sure gs would have a range advantage, but daggers should be more precise.

Here’s my solution.

Increase range on swords and gs
Increase precision on daggers.

One of the reasons why I chose the play warrior before launch was because of this video:
[link]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8iBgOZ_frY[/link]

However, in game, I got something else. I understand Warriors are suppose to take swords to the face and ask for more. I also understand the importance of dodging.

Dodging is great don’t get me wrong, but for a melee character it is a bit inconvenient sometimes because it takes you out of attack range. For instance, one dodge moves your character 300 units over .75 secs, while melee weapon range (auto attack) is 130 units. So, if you dodge a big attack, you’d be 170 units out of range. You’d then have to either run back or use a gap closer. Either way, you lost time to punish the player for leaving him/herself open. In a way, players are rewarded for playing recklessly.

The Solution:
Create a F2 skill for the shield. This skill will rely on adrenaline, but will not be defined as a burst skill (just incase people are worried about cleansing ire synergy.) This will also be an instant skill, but not a stun breaker. Also, blocked attacks will not grant adrenaline even if traited (so its not self filling.) Also, missle reflection wouldn’t work with this skill. Attacking lowers the shield instantly, and still depletes a bar of adrenaline per use.

It would use one bar of adrenaline at a time for a two second duration and a 5 second cd. The skill will not be an 360 degree invulnerability, and will only block frontal attacks. Marks, wells, and other combo fields will still hit a person blocking with this skill.

If a warrior lunches earthshaker infront of you, it will block. However if you are facing the wrong direction, it will hit even though you are blocking.

So in the end, the shield F2 will just be a simple block. Useful against someone who is just spamming their skills. It also offers counterplay by being directional, just attack side or behind. It will also promote the use of timing and force players to learn which skills are blockable.

Season 1/2 are exactly the same Bad move ANet

Not exactly the same as Season 1. We now have eotm now, and if the achievements can be completed there, I don’t see why tons of pve’rs will flock to wvw to be ganked while achievement hunting.
