Just gonna throw this in there, Knight’s armor is not for less skilled players. Defense is not a crutch, it’s just a playstyle. It’s impossible to avoid every big hit, if it was possible then everyone would go full glass cannon.

Since the OP seems to be talking about PvE, it is perfectly possible to avoid every big hit and defense from gear is a crutch.

I also say that I’m old and should be on crutches, haha.

The making of the gear isn’t an issue. What else am i going to do in the game? I’ll probably just go Berserker and try to improve my play.

So yeah, I’ll admit it, I’m not a superstar. My dodges can be late, I can be slow to react. I’m getting older. And honestly, I don’t know if Berserker armor is the right thing for me. I have a suit of exotic Berserker and a suit of exotic Knight, and I fall back on the Knight crutch most of the time because I’m generally taking too much damage.

I’m wondering if this is something a lot of others are struggling with. I’m also wondering if there’s a mix of armor that might work: Berserker + Celestial, Knight + Celestial, Berserker + Knight, that will make things somewhat more survivable while not sacrificing too much. Or does it really matter?

I ran AH build for the longest time, recently switch to the popular Hammer & Sword/Focus build.

So, I know you can get rings and such from the “daily” reward chest that pops up when you finish your first fractal for the day. My question is if the regular chests that drop from the end of each fractal, and the boss fractal, can have rings, weapon skins, etc.

Just tried to do Emerald Sanctum on 2 different characters and same problem. Keys not being consumed, getting chest, no achievement credit for Season 1 meta. This better work tomorrow

The trash doesn’t seem to be scaling up very well. Even in a full group it’s hard to get most of the trash before it dies.

I know the Horror spawns at the center and then zips off to an edge of the map. I’ve tried to run back to center to see if there’s a chest like there is when the other 2 legendaries die, but nada. Am I blind?

The patch notes list two items that change after two weeks:

• During the Twilight Assault release, the number of deadly blooms and empyreal fragments awarded for completing the Twilight Arbor Aetherpath will be increased.
• After the release, they (Aether Key Pieces) will only be found in the Tarnished Coast and Steamspur Mountain areas.

Just wondering what/if there are any other limited time frames for the rest of the dungeon path(s), rewards, achievements etc?

Looking from the outside, it sounds like after the two weeks are up we will still be able to accomplish everything this patch has to offer? Yes, I’m thinking it might be good to spend less hours in-game for a bit

Just the meta for the Living World achievement. The ones under the Dungeons tab will be permanent.

I picked up a pre-cursor from the chest of Shadow Behemoth, so hereby I recommend every gw2 player to guest on other servers to increase your chances in getting a pre-cursor.

The sincerity is overwhelming.

So, basically I’m confused on the state of things at the moment regarding scaling down in low level zones and exotics/precursors dropping. I’m getting level 80 blues and greens in 1-15 zones, can exotics also drop there? Precursors? Do precursors have a special rule where they can only drop in certain level zones? What about the new chests? Can they all have precursors in them or just certain ones?

What’s the lowest level zone you’ve pulled a precursor out of personally? Preferably with a screenshot to back it up.

Just before (I think?) Halloween I bought a bunch of Black Lion Chests for ~28c thinking that they’d spike as people tried to get specific things from them. They instead quickly drop down below 10c and have never recovered

I was in Sparkfly Fen last night and each time I encountered a Risen Brute they would attack once then just stand there, never attacking again.

I’m not exactly keeping track, but it’s rare I salvage a yellow that doesn’t give me at least 1 ecto. I’d put my average around 1.5-2.

So Farcry 3 is working perfectly fine. This is frustrating.

Well it’s not just Lion’s Arch sadly. All zones are taking much longer to zone, and the same issues are affecting me in them all that I described above. Just tried reinstalling GW2 and no joy.

First of all, I understand that arena.net doesn’t support Windows 8, so let’s not get into that part! I’m just hoping some other user has come across my problem and found a solution.

So just upgraded to Windows 8 from 7, clean install. I had saved my gw2 install on my external HD, so copied it back over after the Windows 8 install. Have the latest drivers from the Nvidia site for my card. Game ran great in Windows 7. In my search for answers on Google I see post after post of people saying it’s running better in 8, but…

I’ll try to describe my problem. It basically comes down to loading is slow. When I start up the game, at character select screen, it initially has a black screen with the character boxes at the bottom, with the backgrounds in them, but no characters. A couple seconds later it will all draw in just fine and dandy.

Then there’s getting into the gameworld proper. Lion’s Arch is taking about a minute to load now, versus less than 20 seconds before. Once in, characters are once again very slow to load in. I’ll use a skill, let’s use Retreat as an example, and my character will do the graphic but the sounds are seriously, seriously delayed. I’ll press escape to open the game menu and the text elements will be there, but the background takes an extra second or two to load.

I booted up WoW and was having similar issues but to a much lesser degree.

BIOS is up to date, graphic drivers like I said… I just don’t know what the heck is going wrong.

This is an unrealistic request. Any “change” Sunrise/Twilight makes to spell effects is simply the weapon swing blur. On some classes that will affect a lot of attacks, on Mesmer less so, but it’s still fair. The amount of effort that would have to go into making unique exceptions for them is not insignificant.

Any word on if these will play a role for getting Wintersday items like it did with Halloween? Been saving up my keys, wondering if they’ve given up that particular mechanic for good because of the backlash from the playerbase.

Now I find it hard to believe that they went and deleted their account since then, so I can only assume something is bugged. Help?
