Dear comrades, I have a solution. 100% tax on everything. No coin, no gear, no crafting materials, no gathering, nothing. Remove all current currency. Set up merchants to sell basic needed goods and give players 3-4 tokens every week that can be used at the merchants. Allow only 1 token to be saved per week, and with a max of 3 saved tokens per account. There you go comrades, problem solved.

And to those who don’t get it, I’m being sarcastic. We deal with basic economy every day in our life. We work or have some other type of income, to be able to survive and fullfill our basic needs. Most of us normal people look for the best deals we can find when it comes to more expensive purchases. If we cant afford it, we dont get it until we can. While the game economy isn’t exactly like real life, a lot of the basics apply. Use them.

It’s like a lot of people say. There needs to be gold sinks. Flippers and the TP in general are a gold sink. We cant all be filthy rich. Even if we are, it doesnt matter in the end because prices will “adjust” to that. Just look at that other now quite old and quite successful MMO. It’s not uncommon to see a piece of low level green armor, which is like our blue, cost between 750-1000 gold.

Thats only because there is a ton of gold in that game, that has been generated out of thin air. That money is farmable in an hour by running old raids. Old armor skins can cost easily around 60-100K gold a piece. There are people who easily farm together 50-60K gold in a month in that game, to be able to purchase their 30 day tokens for in-game money.

Also, you can’t really claim that those who play only the TP are not playing the game. Simply because my definition of playing this game does not include grinding dungeons or farming Silver Wastes. If we used my definition of playing the game, we would all be even more poor. Running around solo in WvW, scouting a tower or two, or small group roaming pretty much makes me lose money.

TLDR; TP and flippers are needed. We don’t want super inflation. Every game mode counts as playing the game. Relax, enjoy a tasty dinner and enjoy your favorite part of the game.

Magic carpet is already in the gem store.. Why not mounts? Just make them pure aesthetics. I don’t mind riding a cool Pegasus when walking around. Maybe give them a 50% move speed bonus, and make it disarmed when attacked or attacking. Just like magic carpet except with the 50% move speed.

While the unrest has cleared it was a reason for HUGE riots on the forum… Everybody was mad as could be cause it was considered P2W (Pay to Win) dut to thefact it was aan item providing uneven bonusses to people who could shed out 800 and later 1000 gems for something from the cash store…

Making a mount giving a speed buff higher then anythinng ingame wil cause the same thing… Also I do not need to see people running around on winged horses… I might add that playing human wouldn’t be a problem but being NORN or CHARR your pegasus will die due to the fact it needs to carry 150+ or 200+ kilograms as weight. And as flying ins’t avaailable ingame your pegasus will stay grounded (and if you are asura I’d suggest you’d use the saddlebags to move around safely….)

ArenaNet has already changed gear due to riots on the forums before (I remember a copy of t3 human armor with added flames available to all in the gem shop which was met with outrage… and was pulled or replaced with another less “sensitive skin”)

I think you should consider buying yourself a flying carpet. and forget about speed buffed mounts. It will not happen. Ever…. It is P2W…. And therefore not wanted.

so remember :
- no ingame buffs
- no combat possibilities
- no movement other then normal character movement (no flying, teleporting)
- no animals
you could get a pogo stick (as long as the hops do not allow for extraordinairy movement or maybe a golem…..

so a grounded pegasus made from cardboard and harpy feathers NP, an for that matter Pegasi do not exis in GW lore.. The only horselike beings ingame are centaurs…. last creatures to ride actual horses were necrid horsemen. (GW 1)

But still I hope Mounts are a passed station….

Nice and interesting video. After learning to handle a d/d celestial ele, I’ve started to like “hybrids” more and more. My engineer enjoys a hybrid build as well these days and I’ve been messing around with a friends thief hybrid build (which is a work in progress). Makes me curious about a mesmer hybrid.

No, I’m not, or well, maybe, sometimes. I have enjoyed watching a EotM veteran finish off a few players a few times. I only enjoyed it a little, especially if its thieves, I promise.

Most of the players in GvG guilds roam in WvW when they dont have fights, or are part of the zerg, contributing to your servers performance. Let them have their fun once in a while. Watch the GvG’s and maybe you will actually feel like trying it at some point.

A few nights ago when I was messing around with a different build, I ran into a enemy ranger. We had a long fight where he managed to kick my kitten eventually. The stomp at the end was cool too. I don’t mind.

“If its red, its dead” is all poetic and cute but let others have their fun. 1 vs 1 fights can be awesome. It’s as close as a fair fight you can get in WvW. Why interrupt that? The loot isn’t worth it. Try yourself, you might also learn something new.

Of course the PU mesmer. You can already hear it from the actual “PU” part. It’s a metafor (in Daoism) for naturalness. Naturally the mesmer wins. It’s in their nature. Especially since there are sooo many of them and they all can do exactly everything exactly all the time, without even a [Blink].

Almost makes me want to move to Canada!

While I’m not as active in WvW as I used to be, I think this is a great move. A lot of people are saying stuff like “but there are no other SEA/EU players below the locked servers”. While that might be true, at this moment, maybe it isn’t true in a month or two. Just picture this. 4-5 guilds move to a server with enough room, they join the community and they all start to organize. There is always people in the guilds who have odd working hours, so they cover the off time. More people are encouraged to join them as well.

The server will soon start doing a lot better and will eventually climb up higher up in tiers. Tadaa! Fresh blood to fight for everyone. Sure, the current T1 servers suffers from not being able to get fresh blood themselves, and have guilds transfering off, and so on, but why is that bad? Steamrolling everything with coverage and numbers have more than likely driven away just as much people as empty servers have.

Eventually the “full” status will be lifted off the old T1 dominator, and put on the newbie server, and the whole circle starts again. On another note. I’m not sure the population calculations are properly done yet. If it looks like this in like 2 months or so, then go find your pitchforks and torches. Right now though, chill and recognize that Arenanet is trying to do something about the population imbalance.

I kind of take joy in watching the longbow lowbie rangers die or run away from EotM veterans. After the firts knockback, I usually just watch and let them deal with it. Yes, I do get some angry whispers about me not helping but I usually just reply with “use your KB more” or “i was killing the flowers”. Some people get it, some don’t.

If I’m on my thief, I equip Scorpion Wire and pull them back, preferably as close to the KB source as possible. If I’m on my ranger, I try to position myself so I can knock it back to where it came from. Honestly though, that gets old really quick so I usually just go back to watch the fight.

Yesterday my guildies decided to go to Queensdale and do a jumping puzzle. They are all high level fractal players, full ascended and probably as much AR as possible. They set up their party, checked builds and gear, made sure they had consumables and everything ready. They had snacks and drink close by their desks and was on voice comms ready to go. While I’m no fractal or dungeon player at all, I do sometimes listen to them in hopes I pick up a trick or two.

I could hear that one of them was really nervous. He kept saying “I have a bad feeling about this” a couple of times. They had gathered at the portal out of Divinity’s Reach and a group leader said “we do not know exactly what awaits us on the other side of the portal, so immediately when we have all loaded in, we stack and blast”. 5 seconds after that I heard the nervous go something like “yaoourgghhh”. It was too much for him, he cracked and threw up. The team was 1 player short.

I had no choice than to help my friends. The only ascended gear I have is weapons and trinkets. My armor is exotic. My build and gear was for WvW so not optimal. They gave me 250 gold to get new armor, runes and sigils. 20 minutes later I was as ready as I can ever be. Full berserker armor, check, berserker weapons, check, strenght runes, check, and so on. Proudly I ran to the portal where they waited for me. The group leader gave a speech, to inspire us all and then we stepped into the swirling portal.

Immediately when we loaded in, we stacked. Our glorious leader was quick though and commanded us to run behind the closest building corner and stack there instead, and not in the open. We were soon sitting on 25 stacks of might and every other boon, plus probably a couple of more that doesn’t even exist yet. Slowly we made it from house to house, and then from tree to tree.

Eventually we made it to the garrison, where you fight the elemental in the beginning. Good lord, there were centaurs out in the field. We stacked up again, more boons and even more boons. We pulled the first centaur just to see what it would be like and all I can say is wow. That fight was epic. We had to pull every trick we have ever learned to beat the centaur. We only had 2 people down in our team. The mesmer took an arrow to her knee and I our guardian mistakenly blinded one of the patrolling Seraph soldiers in pure panic.

We had a little breather after the hectic combat, discussed what went good, what went bad and so on. Then panic struck us all. The centaur respawned. The battle that followed was epic. Our discussion after the first encounter really helped. The blinds were perfectly timed this time. Our mesmers Time Warp, it was timed just in pure symphony with the Panic Strike that triggered from my thief, that allowed us to burst down the centaur without any losses to our team.

Our Norn elementalist promised to write a epic saga of this and propose to Knut Whitebear to make it part of Norn lore. We will see about that. After all, its Queensdale we are in. Not sure Knut cares about Queensdale. I might have to take it up with the Queen I guess. Anyhow, feeling brave and inspired, we continued forward.

3 hours later we made it to the Demongrub Pits. We were exhausted to be honest, but very spirited and happy. We had conquered every low level enemy on our way there with minimal losses. I think on average we were downed maybe 9 times each. Only our elementalist got killed when our rangers pet decided to attack something completely different and accidently pulled 2 mobs on us. We all logged out at the entrance, at a safe spot, and we will continue our adventure tonight.

TL;DR: I get it, its a bit annoying when you normally just want to breeze through these zones when you are there. But in the end, its not a big deal. You have a working build with traits and everything unlocked, and you can probably just run and do your thing without caring anyway.

To me it seemed like the best idea since it offers a lot of survivability, with Desperate Decoy, Blinding Dissipation and Deceptive Evasion. Where to go next I have no idea, probably Domination for some shatter skills and GS trait.

I just wanted to clarify that my choice of traits were for EotM / WvW levelling mainly. Most of the time is spent in GS attacking from range. When things get messy, switch to Sword / Focus (or torch) and run off.

Since money is the issue, here is a free tip. You are not forced to pre-order through Arenanet. You can find pre-orders elsewhere as well. Some of those are cheaper also.

You can make Cooking “inactive”. I think you just talk with a new craftsman and then get an option which one you want to deactivate of your current disciplines. You can learn all of them on a single character but switching between them will cost you a bit of coin. At least that is how it was before. I could be mistaken as I havent paid attention to crafting in forever it seems. Someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

I get the idea that it’s supposed to be a “waiting room for wvw” but I might as well just idle and wait in Rata Sum than on any of the EOTM spawns. Either we are a total of 6 people, of which 4 are ranger alts spamming knockbacks, or we cover the entire map. A bit of balancing would more than likely not hurt anyone. In Rata Sum I at least have some entertainment sometimes.

As a few already have said, congratulations to all of you who got in. Now make sure you break things properly and not only sit making your character for 2 hours.

I don’t really care if its removed from “world completion” or not. Everyone has their preference. I just hope I can get the transmutation thingie when I complete the maps still as it’s pretty much the only maps I get 100% on these days.

Well, it taught me to “enjoy” EotM for levelling. Should probably do the first bit of the personal story for the key some day too.

I stumped upon the “Sorry, your listing doesnt match” thing and couldn’t buy anything from the trading post. For some reason you can’t buy stuff if you use the command line parameters in the shortcut (login details and -nopatchui). It made 2 accounts so easy to handle but oh well. So, check the parameters you have added to the shortcut.

You can travel freely to the other races starting areas and complete them. It gives ya XP and some small cash. You can also try World vs World. See if there is a friendly commander, do as she / he says and take some keeps and towers. It’s good XP and karma.

Both female and almost duplicates of each other, tiny details differ, like greyness of eye color, lips, and so on. Both wear exactly the same armor as well, with different colors though.

I hate dungeons with a passion. Got my quota filled up from another game which forced you to run them “for progression”. Gives me a rash. Well, not really but I like to think so anyway. I’m also a bit disappointed with this whole deal of a dungeon at the end but there isn’t much my complaining will do to help, so I’m going to ask something else from the dungeon hating community instead.

Why don’t we, who for different reasons don’t like doing them, like medical reasons (Rubina for an example) or anything else, just set up a group here on the forums, agree on a time and stuff, then go do them at our own pace? Guesting is here, so we can gather up, no problems. When the group is formed up, just inform the group of anything that might be important, like medical reasons, small children, keyboard loving cats, ya know, whatever it is, and then we are good to go.

Any interest in this? I’m located in EU, evenings during week and almost all weekend is clear for me.

My brother enjoyed the free Sunday you had back 19 – 21th of April but had to wait a few days for his paycheck to be able to buy the game. He got it on Thursday 25th, did his daily and went to bed satisfied after purchasing a bunch of gems from your store as well. Friday after work he and I had a blast playing together. Didn’t really get that far but did some jumping puzzles and hunted veterans to help him with his monthly. I also sent him some bags and a few silver to get a nice easy start.

Saturday morning though he was greeted with the Error Code 45:6:3:2114 and denied access. The text says botting, unattended play, macros or similar behaviour. I have strong doubts he did that as I sat in the same house as him and we were on Skype the whole time. Searching for the error code here on forums gives topics about payments getting cancelled and stuff. We checked his bank account 10 minutes ago and the money has been drawn from his account.

There was a lot of activity on his account, emails asking to authorize IP’s from all over the place, US, Korea and so on. All of those were thrown away and never authorized. He did change passwords to his email accounts and to his game. He did send an email to support through the support website, using “Ask a Question” but no reply, no ticket number, nothing. Checked 10 minutes ago. He is starting to get a bit upset about this whole deal.

Anyone can help?
