So, along with everything else that has been commonly reported, had it vanish after using jump pads in LA to the TP today. Never had that happen before, so, either the bug is getting worse, or whatever triggers it is completely random.

Nightfury shoulders lose the bat effect in 99% of combat encounters, and rarely even just being AFK in town. Getting hit, hitting, CC, boons, pretty much any “status change” seems to bug out the bats. Super annoying considering the cost of these beauties

Having the same issue. Tested it for 20 minutes, could not nail down exactly what caused the bats to vanish, but it happens the most in large groups. Could the bats be considered a “mini” maybe? But yeah, sometimes on being hit, sometimes when hit, and sometimes just for no reason. Also have reports of others not seeing the bats when I can, though switching em off an on, or zoning seems to fix that bug too.

Would really like to get this fixed, considering the gold that goes into them Thanks!

[BUG] Thoughtless Potion bugged

So, this is annoying. With the latest patch the Thoughtless Potion, which grants the floating devil horns, is bugged.

The horns float farther away from your characters head (a good in game half a foot) and rotate to always face north on the map. So if you are facing East or West, they are sideways on your head. My thoughts for the Necro GS were threshed out a bit back when they were just hinting we might get new weapons, and updated a little bit when Jory got hers recently as a fun way to kill a few minutes. It is far from perfect, but I like the ideas behind it.

Ok, so we are the “attrition” class without much actual attrition, since other classes can outheal and outprotect us and outevade us pretty much whenever they want. My idea for the GS would be a way for us to actually get into the face of enemies and stay there (3 target attacks across the board):

1: Entropic Slash: Slash your foe and gain life force. 1/2s, 2% LF
>> Entropic Stab: Stab your foe and heal yourself for a small amount of damage (leech). 1/2s
>>> Entropic Twist: Chill your target for 3/4s, if they are already chilled, Immobilize them for 1s. 3/4s

This would heal you for a small amount, giving you a little edge in the healing dept if full vampiric (balanced to be about 3/5 the heal of Healing Signet if fully traited, to account for DS and multi target), and the chill would allow you to slow your enemy and keep them near, and immobilize them if you have access to chill from another source since the full combo would not chill them long enough by itself.

2: Sacrificial Spiral: Slash your foes and yourself to deal increasing damage, final strike heals for each foe hit. 3s duration, 10s recharge.

This ability would be the hard hitting 100b/WW style attack, but it would deal damage to you for each hit (say, ~5% dealt), making it a dangerous gambit if the final strike didn’t land/got interrupted. The leech would heal your for the base damage done untraited, and a decent bit more when traited.

3: Entropic Cleave: Slash your blade across the ground in a line, leaving behind a trail that protects allies and weakens foes. On hit, damage and apply chill for 2 seconds. 1s cast, 4 second trail duration with 2s weakness and protection per tick, 15s cooldown.

This ability is the obligatory movement ability, applying a little more chill and a chance to immobilize if the enemy stays near you long enough to get off your AA combo, and leaves behind a trail which can enhance your attrition if the enemy is dumb enough to stand in it (may need some work…).

4: Desecrate: Draw an unholy symbol at your feet, dealing damage to enemies who stand in it and granting stability and life force for each hit. 3/4 cast, 20s CD, 4s duration, 1s stability per tick, 4% LF per tick.

Standard AoE ability, much needed access to some stability, tho at a much reduced rate of other classes, and LF gains.

5: Come Forth My Minion: Call forth a Vampiric Horror which damages your target and heals you. 1.5s cast, 10s duration, 35s CD.
> Explode your minion dealing damage based upon it’s health. Instant, 180 radius.

This is sort of flavor based, but is versatile in the fact that it can either up your sustain as long as it lives (attackable minion), or you can use it as a burst attack. The damage from the explosion would not be a 1-1 coefficient, so it would not be fragile, but it also would not be a 1hk ability either.

Summary: You get some more leech, making a vampiric build possibly viable and thus a sustain attrition build like we are “supposed” to be, you get to keep people somewhat near you if you get off your chills, even better in a group setting with more access to chills (tho the 1 full second immob may be OP…), some protection, and some stability. I did my best to make to as balanced as possible, short durations, avoidable obstacles, small radius’, and positioning requirements, but any feedback would be welcome, for all the good it would do since this is all a pipe dream for us all anyway

I was also quite annoyed with being forced into playing Caithe. I spend a lot of time learning how to handle my class in every situation imaginable, and suddenly being forced into a new class is jarring, especially when you have to complete achievements on it (if you go solo, which, it seems like a decent % of players do). That said, at least they made Caithe incredibly overpowered once you learned to use the elite, caltrops, and spin2win. Still, it would have been much more fun to do it on “my” character.

Just my 2 copper, but I wish the game has More chances to choose these sort of options. Yes, we are heroes, but that does not mean we “have” to be the Lawful Good Paladin of Justice. I would like to see more options where you can choose to be the antihero, or be given an option to mete out harsher justice than is strictly necessary. We get a few options every once in a while, but usually they do nothing (such as the dialogue in the last LS where you can be harsh to Eir, or really talk smack on Vorpp). I know I do not speak for everyone, but at least in my guild and social sphere, there are a decent amount of people who are sick of being Mr./Ms. Goody-two-shoes (said in a mocking Ash voice).

This has been brought up as an issue before, and before I start, let me say that I have nothing against the writers or the plot, but when there are failable achievements involved with replaying a story, “having” to listen to the same stuff over and over and over again is very annoying. Caithe and Faolain’s dialogue was interesting the first time, not so much the second, and flat out aggravating the third time through simply because I “had” to listen to it. It can’t be that difficult to add a “skip” button to the story….unless you are intentionally inflating the time-sink…. having to restart the instance is bad enough, we do not need to listen to the chitchat every time as well!

Everyone complaining about retroactive rewards…you are missing very very little.

Hit Rank 20, since I was close to it (not a huge PvP fan in this game), and I got:
1 Scroll of Knowledge
8 Oranges
1 Crude Salvage Kit
1 Sharp Fang
2s 86c

I would have been better off monetarily just killing one champ in Queensdale.

The problem is that Anet assumed people would split up to fight the Knights (which tells me they do not even play the game at all), and thus had the hologram spawn on a timer based around the first Knights death.

Thus, instead of fixing the mechanics, and allowing us to Zerg as we want, they limited the bosses to be fought in the way specific to their initial expectation (Not mechanic, which is a fine line distinction and needed), which of course would limit loot naturally.

Then, instead of giving loot to all based around how many Knights were killed (6 boxes for 1, 12 for 2, 18 for 3 and 1/2/3 chances at cores) which would require more coding, they just took the easier way out and slapped the loot from a single boss into a chest for everyone who downs a boss (Which Should, as per patch notes, be everyone who participates, but this is currently bugged.) GG overall imo…way to kitten off the entire community minus the diehard fanboys.

DPS Tests need to Stop.

Then you go in and lookie there, a boss encounter where at one point requires condition damage to succeed (blue secondary hologram fight).

Talk about mixed signals. “1/3 of you are useless for 2/3 of the fight, but are required for the rest of it. Have fun with that.”

This living story was riddled with bugs and was messy which was saddening for their finale.

Need to kill 3 legendary bosses in 6 minutes.

The scaling is bugged sometimes one or two of them don’t scale and die 20 seconds and the others are super scaled……

This event is really beginning to kitten me off. Bug after bug, being told it is all working as intended, and then Forcing the community to change its tactics instead of fixing other issues (such as the Holo spawn), is just infuriating. Not to mention they capped loot at 1/3 of what it was on launch day AND made it (bugged) so that if you don’t get a kill, you get no loot.

Anet, please invest in an actual PTR with testers who pay attention!

I am beginning to think that their internal servers where they test this stuff are bugged in some fashion, which makes encounters actually work there, as opposed to the live servers which consistently do not match up to what the patch notes proclaim…

Thread 4 or 5 on this, we had to hit 16 yesterday to get a reply, but in all fairness, all the Devs are likely asleep and left work pretty soon after the last bug patch. The only issue is, that it seems without a flood that fills up the entire front page of the forums, it takes days to fix game breaking issues instead of hours.

There was a massive 16 thread outcry this morning on loot, we got a wall of text reply finally on it, and then a “fix” patch that re-bugged the Blue Knight, limited the loot, and made it so you got nothing if you didn’t get a kill on the Knights that Die even if you participate in a different one even though you are forced to split! This is the best patch ever!

Force us to split, because the Zerg is too strong, and then do not give loot to those who participate, makes perfect sense….I should start a thread counter on This bug now!

No More Tricks, Scarlet

  • This achievement requires a good deal of skill and awareness, make sure you are watching for the red telegraphs that show where the Holograms will fire next and make sure you do not run through any active scorch marks during the fight, good luck!

Oh, another note on this – from what I and players have ascertained, the Skylaser (forget the attacks name) in the final phase if you fail to kill all of her holograms also seems to void this achievement. If that is unintended, it should be looked into as well.

Quick question are you going to be rewarding players that have been fighting the knights and getting no chest or we just out of luck?

I also would like to know if there will be compensation since this No Loot bug has been going on for 1/3 of the event time.

I would like to point out for “No More Tricks Scarlet” that after the scorch marks visual disappears the effect still stays for about 2 seconds even after the visual is gone. Ruining the achievement for people who move over it.

This has been tested by myself, and several others I know, and while it is “workaroundable” (is that a word…it is now…) with even more situational awareness than seems strictly necessary, it is a bit annoying.

I got loot twice during the first day but then after the patch I’ve been getting no loot. Now I kind of just go to LA to help people fight the champs, I rarely even bother with the knights anymore.

This is a pretty good summary of what is happening on a lot of servers.

I’m not sure if this will provide any kind of clue or not, but yesterday afternoon while killing the knights I received the 6 Minutes to Knightfall achievement…..

This is a different, and known (by the players at least) bug, which occurred before and after the latest patch which broke the loot.

I didn’t realize Anet were taking their break during the final part of LS when Anet mentioned they would take a break after.

Well, 16 threads were made, 7 of which were in the last 2 hours, addressing the issue by players, and they all got merged…if Anet tries to make it go away, they will just keep getting flooded.

It appears to be a bug, since it had a blanket effect on everyone immediately following the last minipatch. 12 threads strong, and still no official word though, so, perhaps today we will get something?
