Guild Wars 2

Just wanted to say that it’s great to see other people who play as I do. Currently have 3 accounts with 16 80’s (3 druids). I started online with Meridian 59’s open world pvp back in the 90’s so enjoy WvW and have played some variety of ranger/hunter/druid in many games since then. Thanks for sharing!

Had the same problem with 64 bit client; the 32 bit works. They’re in Program Files (x86) Guild Wars 2.

The 64 bit client still yields “Connection error(s). Retrying ….”

P.S. The 64 bit client is now working—may just have to wait a bit for it to connect.

Same here, though I’ve completed it on other characters and I could have sworn I already did it.

Don’t really want to accidentally abuse a bug, so please let us know when fixed.

A lot of people are having trouble logging into the game as well; keep an eye on reddit for updates.

I love the game, and I’ve been playing online games from the beginning. Nothing is perfect, but gw2 is the best suited to me of all that I’ve tried.

If you don’t like it, then I really don’t understand why you waste your time posting negativity instead of just playing what you do like.

I fixed my user login problem, but it wasn’t easy. The monitor resolution was set at 1024 × 768 (obviously not Macintosh native) and unless you could find the right boxes through the white play screen you can’t click on the options. I used some tracing paper and went back and forth between my two user accounts until I got the screen to come back; the trick was managing to click on the “window” box under graphic options without being able to see the box.

Good luck and I hope Tech Support will come up with a fix at the game level.

I submitted a formal ticket, got several replies, and now nothing new for 9 days. Is this still in the works for a fix? While I can play under a different local login, it’s not a solution—and certainly no guarantee it won’t be broken again in the future. Please—Can we have an update on this issue?

Go to System Preferences, click on Users & Groups, and create a new user. The problems from the latest patch were possibly caused by a setting that’s attached to the primary login.

I tried creating a new login on my iMac and I was able to launch GW2 from there. I wish I knew more about the Mac so I could figure out why my main login got corrupted.

I’m not—no change.

I had windowed selected, and might have changed details settings—not sure. Also my iMac is 27" Mid 2011.

Copying the preferences folder didn’t work but thanks for trying!

Now everyone’s going to be begging you for that folder, including me. Hopefully they’ll figure it out soon.

Same here; tried all the tips, did a complete reinstall. Nothing. If they don’t plan to support the Macintosh, they need to say so instead of leaving us hanging.

I tried all the steps, and GW2 wouldn’t load at all after I deleted the support folder, even though it did create a new folder.

I am on JQ, and I play early morning and afternoon EST. We are outnumbered more often than not even in early evening.

I feel your pain about lag, but the solution isn’t discouraging people to join JQ. That will eventually force people who play for fun to leave and will leave you with no lag because there are no people.

P.S. I’ve noticed the lag primarily with huge blobs of whatever flavor too, but my computer is only a year old. Anet has done an amazing job of managing the hordes compared to the old games like DAOC (crashing the server during relic raids), but it still has a ways to go.

Players who truly love WvW (or the old RvR) will fight on. Doesn’t matter who wins or loses as long as you get to fight the good fight. Of course, sometimes you have to look harder to find it.

I have been on JQ since release and have been most impressed with the attitude of our wvw crew when we are losing. It’s easy to be classy when you’re winning, but harder to fight on win OR lose. All the current T1 servers know that.

We need every single player—both allies and enemies—so let’s keep it clean and leave the fighting for the battlefield where it belongs.

If you go to your home bl, in citadel, they are both by the old vendors, there are 4 there now due south of the WP. In the other bl’s at your spawn the new vendors should be the same as the old.

P.S. You’re right about being level 80; I was checking on an alt first and the tabs just aren’t there.

Thanks much—but I see only one tab on each vendor, except for the few selling armor and weapons for cash and they’re low level stuff. I guess it’s a bug.

I’ve been trying to look at the skins but can’t find a vendor. Checked all vendors at wvw spawns, citadel and EB keep. Is it maybe a bug? If not—where are they? Thanks for any help—going blind trying to find.

Darkness Falls is a PvP dungeon in DAOC. Entrance is earned by the realm that accumulates the most points (for towers, keeps, battlegrounds, etc.). The realm already occupying the area is not removed and can log inside, making for some epic battles.

Transfer is encouraged because the people inside are not defending their realm, offering an opportunity for the other realms to take the lead.

The dungeon included it’s own items to collect and spend on equipment, etc., and some extremely tough boss mobs with suitable rewards. Fights at those mobs when enemy realms invaded were truly epic.

Fun times!
