While working for ascended armor and weapons I keep having the though about balance changes and why there is no option to switch the stats of the gear, let alone runes infusions or any other little gimmicks.

First this method should only apply to ascended and exotic gear.

1 new storage tab (separated from the others but operates like material storage) in the bank to hold Exotic or Ascended Insignias, Exotic or Ascended Inscriptions, Superior Runes, Superior Sigils and Infusions (like past pvp) when any of those are added to the storage they become lock in and unable to be removed (possibility, could just be stored and removed like material.)

A new tab in the hero panel will allow you to select a current equipped gear (weapon, armor, back, trinket?) and when selected it will show the current components, prefix (insignia/inscription) Runes/Sigil and Infusions. Trinket was included because they share the same stat combos and could also take an insignia or even something new just for them.

When selecting any of the components a drop down (or pop up menu) will show up allowing you to select any of the same components currently stored in the bank.

Now you would only be able to equip what you have stored, so if you wanted 2 toons fully geared with a Beserker Helment with Superior Rune of strength then you would need 12 (6 for each toon) Beserker/Zojia Inscriptions and 12 (again 6 for each toon) Superior Runes of Strength, what you have equipped would leave the storage space. Of course being able to take the component off and leave the slot blank (stat less) should be an option as well.

A possibility to keep legendary armor and weapon a step above is to only allow the swapping of components in towns or near banks.

Why this could be a good thing.
For players as way to keep up with and balance changes without wrecking their bank.
or to test new builds.
A way to store the weird account bound components or one they might want to try at a later date.
Also new gear would not have to have the stat select possible saving on time for pre determined stats, would allow players to just select what they want via hero panel.

Well suggestions are great to hear, or if any would like/use this idea.

I love SAB, I look forward to it each year and I really would like it to be continued, I mean 2 more worlds and then yeah it can be put to the side and have no new content (unfair but fine).

People complaining about them putting time and effort into it but I wonder if those people like having unfinished content in game? I really don’t, and it is not like you cannot tell it is unfinished there are 2 more doors to be opened!

As for Lore, Really?!? once it was released in game it became part of the worlds lore, and for those who have started living world 3, Taimi’s holograph game (remember that one) yeah that is based of Moto’s design A.K.A. Super Adventure Box, so lore yeah it is there.

As for it becoming an expansion pack, no I would not pay for a finished product of a half finished product, or something that use to be free to play, that they take away yearly just seems shoddy business to me.

Really shocked by how many people are whining about the SAB.

They should do a little map or room where you can change what you want (wardrobe/makeover changes), and you can apply those changes, that will remain until you exit that map/room. Because there are a lot of hairstyles/armor combos that seems good in the preview but not when you’re really moving your char in the world (clipping problems etc…)

I would love that idea, which how different the stances are for the races one look may not work for another race as I just found out.. looks funky.

Which is about 13 hours away.

There are multiple guilds that host the event.

But even without joining one the trick for any boss event is to go to the map at least half an hour before start if u really want in.
These major bosses take time to get ready for and when they spawn it is hard to get into an active map as they are full.

And if u play at such a bad time try the weekend. But I’ve joined many events hosted playing after work wich is at 11pm or 2 am est so I know at night there are active groups completing the boss events.

I love the idea, but instead of a new game why not just incorporate it into their current one.

Fractals are a great method to do this as it can already deal with past events, and quite a few could be a great way to introduce solo fractals.
I have thought about how cool it would doing some of the Guild War event in this game, such as taking down Shiro, beating the titans again, the rise and fall of the white mantel and taking down a god.
Some of my favorite parts of this game are areas that were covered back in the original, like ascalon, glint and now the fire islands.

One of my favorite addition to guild wars was the Bonus Mission Pack as this was a way we could see past events and claim unique rewards.

Could also include the Rise of the dragons, sinking of Orr, Fall of Ascalon, the turning of the jade sea, list goes on with so much lore to choose.

F4 Key no longer Responding

During game I cannot use the F4 key to swap to earth in ele.

Looking in options F4 is the key.
I unassigned the key, and tried again hitting F4 does nothing, it will not assign the key.

This just started happening a week back could be longer as I normally use a different key combo to swap.

The key does work outside Guild Wars.

I play with all my characters (one of each class) to keep me interested and amused.

But I like my ele and warrior for the group projects and currently working on reveant as a main.

But as for the good classes and recommend would really depend how you like to play.

As for good in game i like to explore PvE and the maps and just do the events i come across.

You could post the class your currently playing as, and people could suggest or if you have played any other MMOs say the play style you had the most fun with, or what your looking to do in the game. If you enjoy putting your skills against other players than WvW and PvP would be for you. Capture and hold WvW. Explore vast worlds PvE. Come across bosses PvE. List goes on.

Just my take on a way to implement a method to use items between characters, drumming up more item usage and sales for Anet as players would have to replenish consumable and would actually want to buy a convince item or toy.

—The Start—
A new tab would be added to the bank interface, this tab would be an account pouch (name open for change) this tab would the only way to add or remove items from this pouch.

It would only have 15-20 slots starting with options to buy more (just like bank.)
Include in this tab are 3 Tool Slots, one pick/axe/sickle (separate from the slots, just like character screen)
The slots would hold, usable items (Revive orbs, merchant summons, summon stones, potions, drinks & foods, Boosts, and WvW items) along with Salvage Kits (Merchant bought, infinite or black lion) Toys, Movement changes, and Instruments.
Now to make the pouch even more useful items that have uses (Such as plain/Infinite Continue Coin, and keys/picks/items to open chests) can be used from this pouch without player interference where you just run up to the chest and it would check to see if the pouch has the items (after player inventory)

—Way to access—
A new icon would be on the bottom of the inventory interface, clicking this would have a pop up of just the slots, and will stay open until closed (this way you can use salvage slots with little effort). You would only be allowed to use the items, no switching, no moving and no adding or removing through this interface.

—Tool Slots—
The tool spaces would hold any current/future tool (infinite, merchant bought, or specials.) The tools would only be used if the current character has no tools equipped and is trying to harvest, this method would allow players to keep in any role play they want, or use up tools and still have a infinite to save time as they would not have to run to a merchant.

—Cost—
Simply put it would act just like the bank system where you get a set amount of slots open for free and if you wish to have more to open them from gem purchase.
Why this would be offset, is because player would use more gem consumable or willing to buy the convince or toy items (I speak from experience, as I forget the consumables and they sit in my bank, and I don’t like wasting my time switching items back and forth and haven’t bought any Music items or even the infinite salvage kit although they look fun/useful.)

—Why—
A lot of people will just switch items around, that is all well and good for them but I don’t like having to run back to do so, and lets face it I forget about a lot of them items and most of them sit and do nothing, I have no reason to buy more because I don’t use them as is. Now if they get used and I find I like them I would buy more.

—Suggestions—

First let me say that there is no item I would like more than an account wide bag. I would pay for it. I would pay a LOT for it.

That being said here is why I think it won’t happen: For every character that I enjoy playing I buy a set of permanent gathering tools and a copper fed salvage-o-matic. I have many characters that I enjoy playing; consequently I have many sets of gathering tools and salvage-o-matics. I think there are probably a lot of people who have bought copies of the tools and I think A-Net will be faced with a large refund request if they were to implement these account bound bags.

It’s such a convenience though, it may well be that enough people who don’t buy the tools now would be enticed to buy both the bag and the tools that it would be worth it to them in the long run.

I would love to see an account wide bag. I would be fine if it were a bag slot that needed to be unlocked on each character who wished to use it.

Yeah I am in the same boat I have multiple infinite tools, but I have no interest in buying any more at 1000 gems each.
Although with the salvage-o-matics I never bought because I don’t want to deal with transferring or buying more than one, if I had an easy way to access it then I would in a heart beat just for the convince of never needing to stop at a merchant to pick on up again.

As for refunds, as mean is it sounds I don’t think that would be the best method, they didn’t/won’t have changed the tools themselves so no reason to refund (unlike clothing) nor do I expect want one. Maybe they could be nice and offer a merchant that would buy the tools back at a reduced gold/gem rate so those who only want the one could have it that way.

But if my idea was implemented I would be fine with keeping my “extra” tools.

Of course instruments and toys would be in the same boat. Hopefully this could be introduced before they continue to add in more items like those to save people from buying more duplicates. Or at least comment if they have a semi interest of creating something like this.

No to account bound bags.Here is why.
At the current moment i have 5 characters + 31 bags + 620 bag slots.If the bags become account wide the space will become limmited just like the bank.And instead of 620 slots i will have for instance 200 which is so little from what ever angle you look at it.

My suggestion is to add a different space, not make the current pouches account wide.

That claimable per every character would still take up your inventory space, that is why I thought of a pop up window with the items, that way u can use them at full inventory and on all character with little hassle.

And yes the slots for usable items would be for all types, WvW, potions, food, drinks, account bound items or not. unless coded it could probably be an extra bank slot for armor but just not usable via inventory pop up. Or maybe it could be.

Another addition Would be the Infinite Continue coin from Super Adventure box, and items like that could be redeemed while in the pouch once again saving time and space if you choose to play on multiple characters.

Time to live off the world. Say no to TP!

No, they would not be losing money. They’d get money. Right now I have one set of harvesting tools and when they first came out I refused to buy any because they were soulbound not accountbound. The set up of paying 400 gems for each character is pretty much making them soulbound again just 60% off. They should just lower the cost of them to 400gems instead of 1000gems if they did this since that’s the only thing I ever swap. Maybe they could make a harvesting/salvage tab and equipment tab. Harvest/salvage is for the account (at 800gems), equipment (for Ascended/Legendary) is character specific (at 400 gems).

Making you buy things per character, in my opinion, is never a good idea. Originally it was why I never bought the armor sets (had to pay per use back then, only bought any after Wardrobe aside from the free set from upgrading to deluxe) and one of two reasons why I don’t buy character bag slots. The second reason is that I don’t need more bag space.

Agreed, I would rather pay once and have it for all characters, But I would also rather have implemented for convenience. My thinking with 400 being 2 characters for 10, but even that seems kind of ridiculous to access items you already paid for so I’m going to edit that.

Never thought about ascended.. …

Now the biggest complaint is that this could take money away from Anet (nothing I want to do) so the best way to address that is to make it that each separate character would have to pay an amount of gems (200 or less) to unlock the pouch icon on the bottom of the inventory interface (this is the better option so that the bank tab does not get stuck behind a gem lock for each character).
Although I would prefer not having to pay twice for items already purchased.

—Why—

HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

I am really concerned about the price policy A.Net have adopted.

(the prices listed below are in Euro currency as I am living in EU)

So, I am playing GW2 since launch. I already own the game and here are my purchase options :

1) HoT (Standard) priced 44.99€ – This will grant me access to HoT and will give me the core GW2 game which I obviously already own. Problem is that, as a GW2 player for 3 yrs, I have used all available character slots. Standard Edition doesn’t give me a character slot which means I have to either get one using Gems (cost of 20€) or deleted one of my level 80 characters.

2) HoT (Deluxe) priced 74.99€ – This edition will grant me the much desired character slot for an additional 30€. Of course you get some additional vanity in-game items that I am not really interested in.

Both these approaches are somewhat wrong… Instead :

Standard Edition should be 44.99€ and for new players (who doesn’t own core GW2) should include the core game. If you are an old player, instead of the core game you should be granted one additional character slot (same as in GW1).

As things are right now, in my eyes HoT cost ~65€ (game+char slot) and I have so little info about the actual PvE content that comes with it. No way I pre-order this!

On the contrary, I will wait patiently to see what people who purchased it have to say and how the game balance will be.

You do know they changed that to include a Character slot for Veterans of Guild Wars 2 right?
So now even the basic gives one you just have to wait a week or so since they do it in batches.
And the more costly choices actually offer 2 now.

I was alright with the price, it was expected not happy but expected the only thing I hate was the no character slot.

Now i’m just debating on if I want the gems for the that price and really need to make my choice soon for beta weekend.

I like the have a separate map idea.
The account would only have one character slot. and be allowed to change the looks of the character before entering the game.
A way it could be done is to have a temp position for each race.
Humans = soldier, Asuran = pre-student, No idea on others… basically a clay model that you would later get to choose the rest of the character details.

After you complete the zone, and purchase the game you are given another menu to choose your class, race traits (back story) and character looks and save and progress into the next part (either the beginning story, or option to skip)

In the preview zone would have a class trainer allowing you to switch classes and try them all out, (each change would give u basic set of weapons and armor) and soulbound.
Very limited access to a bank (but to show the wardrobe feature), along with a few nodes (of a preview item, no main steam)

This would be a good way for players to chat with other people previewing the game and see if they would like it

Long story short.
I broke my old motherboard, and bought a new one same model and same graphics card, well the new one isn’t working (old ran game fine and at highest level)

In the middle of a discussion about getting it returned but need some hard core proof that it has failed/never worked, or a way to make it work.

Since Guild Wars 2 is the highest game i play this is a big test for the GPU.
So first issue is logging in http://imgur.com/Yn0TLlY that happens to all my characters
Second when i try to get in game I crash, on min settings it didn’t happen right away on max I don’t even get to see the screen.
When doing auto detect it is very low settings unlike my old on that was near high range.

My GPU is Nvidia Geforce 740m, running on a laptop. Reinstalled Windows 8 off a disc so fresh drivers.
Finally managed to get it updated to newest driver and not crash my computer constantly, or freeze up but the games will not run.

So did I do something wrong or is the seller at fault and the GPU was junk, I did talk to the seller and their response was

“Okay. I think the issue is the game. It worked okay in using it normally, but if you use it for gaming it can be a problem because this motherboard is not fit with it and I can’t cover it. New online game need a lot of power of gpu and it’s own big memories. This board is a used one and was cleaned and was reset for fit other laptop, but didn’t replaced new gpu for gaming. You’d better ask me if it would be good at game before your purchase. Gpu can’t be perfect as in new board. You should bought new one instead used or refurbished.”

Does that sound right?

~Overview~
Goal: Make it so that account bound items (unlimited tools, toys, salvage machines and useful items) can be shared across all character without banking while respecting the business side of Guild Wars 2.

~Method~
-New bank tab for just the belt feature
-Click-able belt button in inventory window
-3 Slots for tools (1 Sickle, 1 Pickaxe, 1 Axe)
-1 Slot for Salvage (Copper fed, silver fed or salvage kits)
-Multiple slots (with more that can be purchased) for all other items: Tonics, Revive Orbs, Repair Canister, Musical Tools, Toys and all the other goodies)

~Price~
-The cost to gain access to belt would be a one time fee of gems (maybe 400) per character this will allow everyone to support the game even with no plan to buy another of the same item.
-Would cost to open more item slots to store more for all characters to use.

~Break-down~
-New bank tab would be the only way to add/remove items to/from the belt.
-Belt button would be on the bottom of the inventory screen and when clicked would bring up a new window allowing a player to use the items stored (Such as a salvage kit to empty inventory, or a Harp to play a song while waiting at bosses to even a revive orb during the middle of a dungeon)
-3 Slots for tools would be used second while harvesting a node, first would be the currently equipped tool and then the stored one (also can hold merchant bought tools, saving a player from being unable to harvest a node because tool broke until they get to a merchant)
-1 Slot for salvage items would allow you to empty your inventory without a trip to the bank, can also hold merchant bought kits)
-Slots for the rest, these would be used for all fun little goodies you currently possess (tonics, toys, instruments, riding) as well as the useful ones you may forget to take out of the bank (revive orb, repair canister, merchants, and black lion merchants) even those vanity items (self style hair kit, single use and unlimited) Certain items should be coded to work from this storage so the player can avoid a bank use (such as an Infinite Continue Coin)

~Summary~
This idea would not only allow those who have bought unlimited items to make quick use of and since most player would not like to buy another set this will also allow Anet to make a little money by charging the one time fee for access to the belt. Not only would unlimited items benefit from this the ones you receive as a reward and may forget to take out of a bank or change over to a character and be in need of causing those items to be used faster and be replenished if the player chose to.

I like the idea of making invisible armor (of sorts) this would really take less coding and would allow options for each choice and allow for more clothing looks latter in the game.
It is a sad thing to work on a character for a hour to get the right look and be forced to cover it all (like the glow option, I really like that and no armor allows for it, or Norn tattoos, and even patterns of the charr)

This would also allow us some customization of the under garments as they could be made into an armor and we could dye them how we like.

But I would like to see some regular clothing to be introduced into the game like the khaki shorts were and then ruined by becoming a Outfit Tonic.

There is an Area of Effect loot, which u hit a button a loot all within range, along with the autoloot (loot goes right into ur backpack) it works fine, to turn them on go onto options from the menu it is the first tab options near middle

right up there with you, i have redone characters (even my first ones made back in beta) to many times just because their look wasn’t quite right, their names hours at thinking on the spot while in character creation just to log in with it and then back out to delete and try again. Trying to fit the name to the race is just as hard, but in the end it is worth it as I look and love the names i deal with.
And this obsession isn’t cheap either with the few mistakes I have made make me regret being so picky. Like delete a character whos infinite tools were soul bound instead of account bound .. .. ..

I would also like the town cloths to be switched from tonic to a outfit or even armor pieces, never liked the default color of them and now forced to keep them.

As for the other comments.

Trait system is being looked into being changed or reverted back before the update.

PvP (pve dungeon… ext) will probably be changed after the HoT expansion is hit and players have had a chance to comment on how the direction of anet is going. HoT has probably been on the list for a while but with all the changes it will try to accomplish why should they waste time and energy into fixing something that they will give a makeover once they have a system that is agreed to be a better alternative currently this is being done with WvW and as we don’t know what HoT will completely change we cannot say what needs to be done ASAP.

I miss the SAB never got a chance to get into the second part and look forward to playing it again, but I can wait for it to be the best they can get it. My only hope is that it becomes a permanent feature like it should have been.

To everyone wondering why it cannot just be released as it was, they have been added the third part to it, do you think that the first 2 will not be balanced or changed to meet that?

and Pyr, gw2 has stopped the updates every 2 weeks as many player wished for that, many felt that every 2 weeks of temporary content was to much and just became a grind forcing you to play it.

The outfits in gw looked alot better than most of their armor, or mis matched (like med on a heavy class)

I think instead of not selling outfits (which are good because each class can use it so less models needed) they should change the outfit slot, and make it separate for shoulders, gloves, boots, etc
Even if that cost transmutation charges it would be fine as say you like the shoulders of this outfit that chest armor and legs from another outfit you could have all 3.
Basically the wardrobe feature but with outfit pieces. They could even remove the outfit tab and just include them in the wardrobe tab (maybe on bottom separated from the armor collection) That could even start outfits with weapons.

Just because he didn’t know his mother doesn’t mean the father didn’t or the rest of the culture. I mean look at how many people are named after their dead grandparents, just because u didn’t know them doesn’t mean you cannot be named after them.

Even Eir admits how bad of a mother she was, but because we are not Braham how can we tell what his name should be? Maybe he has kept the name due to his fathers request, or maybe he wants to try and show he will be a better legend than his mother and by using her name he has a way to show I’ve become better. As for him not liking her and still keeping her name again goes with back story that we don’t really know.

And really who is to say that his name will stay that, he has yet to achieve something great, after that he may take a new name.

I don’t think anyone should be removed, there are some people you will like and dislike. I think the major problem is the dialogue or chemistry between all npcs, it seems lifeless, blah and not all that interesting as you wait for it to be done, and i really feel that way for any of the dialogue I’ve listen to there hasn’t been anything that really make me want to focus completely on the dialogue and it is more “are you done yet?” which is sad since I really like lore and back stories
And it has always been that even back in beta the voice acting just never struck with me.. Of course that’s is just my opinion and I’m sure someone will come and say it is the best they have read/heard.

Bought the game, no living story season2?

I find it kind of funny how people are complaining about having to buy season 2 yet very little if any complaints about season 1 being completely unavailable at least season 2 is/was not temp content but a permanent addition to the game that could be unlocked in game or purchased if you missed.
I do agree that season 2 should have a method to be unlocked for free, as it does continue the main story line maybe getting a pass to continue the story after you beat your personal story, but at least you have the chance to take the fight unlike never knowing why we’re talking about scarlet or the ruins of a building in kessex hills and well alot.

Very detailed post above and should help you out but also remember that the new expansion will give new legendaries, and new ways to obtain legendaries so might be a good idea to try the crafting route just so you have some mats in case you like any of the new ones.

I’m fine with it, this expansion is meant to give some building blocks for the future of gw2 in new skill/abilities and such. It also includes enough new content to suck you into exploring the building blocks for the future..
Of course they could have sent a new race in being a race with the Revenant in its history. maybe Rytlock would have somehow ended up in the middle of the jungle learning from this new race and be included.

But I am expecting a new race to come in the future maybe when we finally make contact with distant lands would be the easiest method to including them into Tyria.

My first thought after reading an article about this expansion is something from Fry on futurama “Shut up and take my money!” which sums up my feelings very well.

I’m wondering if they are going to follow the original guild wars expansion and include a free character slot to those that buy it, would be nice giving a chance to include the new profession in one lump sum.

honestly I would only like mounts if the added something to the game and the best possible way for any good addition would be sky combat in certain areas via mounts.. there i think mounts would be a neat addition.

NPC Support for Group Events

I had an idea, and looking through the forums i haven’t seen a post similar to it.

While doing the Living world achievements for the krait witch I stood around waiting for close to an hour asking if anyone wanted to join and kill her while repeating this every 10 minutes or a so an idea hit me.

Why not allow us to ask NPCs for support?
A simple way for this to be initiated is if an event goes on for longer than a hour without being completed the closest “heart” NPC will allow us to recruit a group of NPC for that event only.

Ways to help limit any abuse.
Could be a Karma or Gold cost.
Could be achieved by an item where you go to the event in question and activate the item allowing a group/army of npc to be teleported directly to that event to fight for only that event and afterwards they vanish.
The army could take all drops/rewards as a cost for completing the event with a decrease in the gold, karma and exp rewards from completion of event.

This would mainly be used for dead areas or people who plays in the off time, allowing them to be able to complete an event when they cannot find anyone else.

Every Black Lion Chest should give 1 scrap?
