From “Still looking for the [Orb]”. We are a small chapter of a bigger community.

Orb is a PvE focused guild, working on Raids, and guild hall enhancement!

As of right now, we are looking for anyone 18+ to join our ranks! We are a talkative bunch, and we love it when our members converse in TeamSpeak! We are currently recruiting any and all classes!

While we do not have a set raid calendar, we are currently looking at weekends, and one of the weekdays.

Some quick background on the history of Orb:
Orb was created not long after launch, after the disbanding of one of the big WvW alliances. A bunch of friends decided they had enough; and moved to Ferguson’s Crossing to start their own guild, away from the drama. Orb was active for about a year and a half focusing almost solely on WvW, and eventually we, like most; got tired and took a leave of absence. After regaining an interest in the game and the PvE side of things, we are here, looking for more members to join our ranks.

Note: while we are primarily a PvE focused guild, we do adventure into sPvP, and WvW from time to time.

F.A.Q

Will I have to be a specific class?
No, we may ask you to change up some utility skills to help with a fight (ie adding boon strip etc) but we will never force you to play in a style you are uncomfortable with or a class you are uncomfortable with.

Why have an age restriction?
We understand the “youth” of today is already corrupted but we prefer not to be the ones corrupting it. Younger users tend to have more free time to play and get antsy when older “adultier” people can’t be on at the drop of a hat.

Are you hardocre??!!!!!!!!!?
While we don’t game to live we definitely live to game (when we can). Most Orb members are in college or out in the workforce some even have gasp little gamers (aka children) of their own. When we get game time we like to fill it with as much content as possible while reaping the biggest rewards. Your time is important to you like our time is important to us.

I don’t like VoIP/TS is that a problem?
Kinda, we are a VERY social guild and encourage members to interact. We have found that people who play together (and create bonds) stay together. Not using VoIP/TS will not result in an auto /kick; but you will definitely miss out on antics and tomfoolery that only comes from being on coms.
However, for higher tiered fractal runs and Raids TS will be mandatory for audible callouts (you just have to listen you don’t have to talk)

If users have limited game time how do you plan to raid?
We are using a style of planning called communication…maybe you’ve heard of it?? :P

We are shooting for 2 static days and one “swing day”. Some raid groups may have static and swing members. Logistics is not something we are new to, so let us worry about the planning you worry about the playing.

Amazing, 4 hours with a guild group laughing, cursing, and exclaiming at the screen and across ts. Only to find this secret at the end of it all. BEST 4 hours! Looking forward to more groups going in tomorrow in hopes of finding secret rooms and goodies! Tribulation mode will be preserved till the weekend lol.

Yeah, that guy was jaded by a CD guild that went to BG anyway. 2 guilds leaving for TC (one no one really knew about anyway) and apparently we’re all exporting to TC? Bandwagoner/lemming mentality, whatevs.

Actually no, “this guy” wasn’t jaded by a guild that went to BG anyway….he and his guild were fed up with all the drama and backstabbing on CD, fighthing commanders, and one man trying to be King of the Alliance. It’s funny how yesterday you sent me an in game mail all nice and sweetness, and today you are on the forums backstabbing and calling me jaded….thanks for illustrating my point

And yes, it WAS an exodus, regardless of how many 10 man guilds you list on your little pickle site. KH (500 man guild), LW (500 man guild), RISE [500 man guild], LaZy (500 man guild), GOF [500 man guild] TG, and some mid sized guilds CYN, ORB, LORD, VAL, ESF, DH and several others are gone.

I wish CD the best of luck in the future, but gossipingbackstabbing players such as yourself are part of the problem in the community

I would please ask that you not speak for other guilds besides the one you are in.

Orb Gaming is a competitive, organized and democratic based PvX guild made up of veteran gamers located throughout the United States and Canada with a few players globally. We invite you to check out our communications to get to know us a little better. Most of the time we can be found on our Teamspeak server (information can be found on our website). We take having fun seriously. Our guild focus is about letting the member choose how competitive or casual they would like to be with the games they like to play. The only thing we ask is that our members show consistency in their gaming habits, use the social forms of communications we provide when playing and conversing with us as well as displaying common gaming sense and mutual respect.

Consistency
We ask that our members maintain a standard of attendance and communication that keeps a healthy guild culture. Being a regular members means being online consistently and staying involved with our activities. All of us work, have families and some of us have social lives outside of gaming. That is perfectly acceptable with us as long as you have a practical balance.

• All members are required to maintain a minimum level of activity

*All members are required (within reason) to participate on WvW reset night (Friday 7pm EST), as we are a World vs. World focused guild and we need the largest turnout at that time.

No great gaming organization has success without a group of players that are willing to come together and commit, communicate and coordinate as a unit. This system will allow our guild to function as that unit. Understanding the smaller obligations we have as individual members and officers of the guild will allow us to execute with great success, as long as we do our part.

Applying To Orb
The application process is developed so we can properly gauge our potential members commitment, communication and personality traits so we can make the best decision of their membership for everyone involved. We do not guarantee membership to anyone regardless of what you are told by any individual in the guild. We require all potential members to read and understand this document and our policies so they have a good idea of what to expect. Here are the key points of what to expect and what’s expected of a potential member:

• A potential member contacts us about or is invited joining our guild
• We give them a temporary guild invite in-game, as a Consort
• There is a brief orientation period (including a small question answer session held on TS3)
• Consorts gain full member status once they have successfully done the following:
1. Filled out an Application on the forums
2. Ran with the guild in at least 5 guild events (reset night, dungeon party, etc.)
3. Have logged onto TS3
4. Shown interest in remaining an active member
