The skill used to be immune to stun removal skills. It’s definitively a different CC type than all those that trigger the anti CC traits.

It was nerfed to be removable before but in the original plan, it’s supposed to be a stun that is harder to counter than all other stuns yes. For your question you’ll have to ask ANet about that, only they have the answer.

I did originally think of that, but if stun breakers now work against it, and stability also does, why not these traits ?

Is it intended for Basilisk Venom to not trigger traits that prevent stuns, knock downs, ect? E.g Reaper’s protection (necro) Mirrored Anguish (mesmer)

After experimenting with various ways to counter or just straight up prevent burst I thought I would give these traits a try, sadly to no success against this particular skill, while a great to counter to moves such as bulls charge from a warrior or updraft from an ele to stop/hinder their burst during CC combo.

So does anyone know if this an intended function? I mean the skill doesn’t ignore stability so why does it bypass these traits?

One thing you forgot is that using any weapon that can combo, (melee weapons) will continue to combo when hitting a thief in stealth, therefore telling you are succesfully hitting them. almost every class can do this.

Got a response from support team and they say they unfortunately cannot do anything about the issue I’m sure others have made the same mistake as the recipes are completely the same cost, just a difference in which skill point item. Now I’m stuck with a book on my back instead of a quiver on my thief and it just looks… well terrible and out of place.

Guess all I can do now is just use this post as a warning to others to be vary careful when it comes to buying the skillpoint item.

So I decided to make an ascended back item in the forge but accidently created the wrong one, I made the book instead of the quiver. Now I know this is 100% my fault but was wandering whether there is any way of me getting my materials back? Or simply exchanging it? As the materials are the same (except skillpoint bought objects which add up to same cost anyway) Was really looking forward to using a quiver and acted to hastily. Was an honest mistake

I know I could transmute it into something I would prefer the look of but if i ever get round to ‘infusing’ the item I will get the same skin back again and lose the skin/item I transmuted it from, so am I stuck with this book?

Quite simply I got mixed up with ‘crystals’ and ‘philosophers stones’ and got the item I did not want

No reconnect function available yet?

Annoying enough to disconnect in a dungeon, having to walk back all the way through the entire instance (usually due to lack of waypoints)
But to make matters worse in Fractals if you disconnect you cannot rejoin your party?
GW1 had a simple and effective 1 button press to reconnect.
I just got DC while facing the jade maw after doing an hour or 2 worth of work up to it. All for nothing.

We’re aware of the problem and are working on an active fix. Very sorry about this, hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Over a month ago a dev posted this.

Now I know I’m probably not gonna get the loot/fractal lvl up I deserve given to me but I would very much like an update about whats being done about this issue, or at least told why it’s taking so long to be fixed.

No time for new game modes

I think what you need to realise is that the game would become so imbalanced if they introduced new game modes.

Currently conquest (hold points) is the only mode available, therefore Spvp is balanced around this. There have been many threads about wanting new game modes such as 3v3 deathmatch, 1v1 dueling, capture the flag ect. And while these seem like good ideas to begin with, just think of some of the problems that these game modes could bring.

As an example because it seems so popular, lets talk about 1v1 dueling. I’m sure many players would enjoy playing a mode like this but there are huge problems which would make the mode very broken and cause many more rage threads ect. Imagine having a 1v1 with a thief that is specced to be able to be permanently stealthed? Almost nothing would happen all game, until you or the thief decided to rage quit out of boredom. What would happen if a Full bunker build fought against another full bunker build? An excessively long match where neither player would die. Then players would be crying out to buff/nerf classes based upon their ability to 1v1 ect, creating even more imbalance. I believe there is currently only 1 game mode because the pvp is balanced around it and it works to the most extent

Vengeance causing invulnerability?

Its the same amount of invulnerability you get when you rally………. which is 1 second.

You are not immune to anything while under vengeance, aside from the 1 second when you pop up (again, the same as if you rally)

Just saw it happen again in another match, I managed to mouse over the ‘buff’ and it was called revived and had a 2 second timer left on it when i moused over it. Which is more that the 1 second your describing.

If it happens again ill try to screen shot it.

Can any1 else share any information on this?

Thief support-Heals?

Healing wise a thief only has shadow refuge and the trait shadow protector (grants regen) for allies.
However thief does have some other methods of support…
Venom sharing can be extremely powerful in certain situations
You can stealth allies, (stealth ressing is extremely strong)
You can trait stealthing allies to remove conditions
Signet of agility is an AoE condition removal/endurance regain (excellent in dungeons where rolling is required)
Smoke screen can block projectiles (very useful skill)
When traited stealing can grant might, fury and swiftness
Cluster bomb on shortbow is a spammable blast finisher, this can be used in water fields for a spammable heal, fire fields for many stacks of might and many more combo fields.
People just overlook these traits and abilities but if you really wanted to fit a support role here are just some of the things u can do

Vengeance causing invulnerability?

Is it intentional for a warrior to gain invulnerability while using Vengeance? Noticed it happening a few times now, Lasted long enough for them to res an ally whilst being completely immune to any form of damage/conditions so couldn’t interupt them.

I haven’t played warrior enough to know if this is an actual function of the skill so would anyone be able to confirm if it is?

Just to clarify, they gained http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Invulnerability lasting for around 3 seconds (they fully revived a downed team member) they were not using endure pain/blocking with shield.

Both the Ghastly Shortbow and Ghastly longbow both currently have bugs with there animations, they only animate when not in combat and as soon as the bow is drawn the animation stops.

Tactical Strike - Possible to extend daze?

I’ve heard rumors that the change to the mesmer runes was reversed…..still think paralyzation won’t, though as it’s a “stun” sigil while mesmer is specifically “daze”

Well after a short while testing, I can personally see no difference using mesmer runes or the sigil, the sigil I’m not too bothered about (was most likely a bug when it did used to work) but the mesmer rune 33% to me seems bugged and is not applied.

Would be quite helpful to have a dev could perhaps explain the mechanics and whether it does work or not

Does anyone know if its still possible to extend the duration on tactical strikes daze? I used to play S/D very frequently before they gave the daze duration a 0.5 second nerf, which doesn’t seem like much, but I also heard rumors about them also making the runes of the mesmer (33% daze duration) and the sigil of paralyzation (15% stun duration which also affected daze) not effecting the duration anymore. I tried it out on the armor dummies but seeing a difference is pretty hard for me due to it being over such a short period of time.

Does any1 know for sure if either of these methods work?

I also have experienced this also while playing as an ele using vapour form a few times, one thing I do notice (might just be a coincidence) is that I am often fighting a necro when this happens, and the first thing that comes to mind is I perhaps rallied from a minion of some sort dying. It is a very weird bug and I am not 100% sure what causes it, defo seems to have the possibility of game changing though.

I think because it is monetized. We don’t pay monthly subscription for the game but you can buy personal bank access anytime from gem store for real money so this could be a way to give players idea to spend a bit more money. If this is true reason – I am OK with that.

I understand what you’re saying but I personally think that item is more to be used in PvE, where you might be carrying to much while doing a dungeon/exploring ect, and need to store some items in order to hold more.

What I’m suggesting is just purely for convenience, I know I can simply take the portal from the mists back to lions arch then use the bank there free of charge. Its just to save me the few minutes of doing that then swapping characters and doing it all over again.

I have always wondered why there is no access to general storage/bank in The Heart of the Mists. When you get given rewards such as bags, dyes, salvage kits (5 from monthly I now have on a random character) and tournament tokens which are account bound. It gets quite tedious having to leave the mists to travel to another town to go use the bank in order to store these items.

So quite simply I suggest adding bank access in the mists.

I was wondering if I could get any dev feedback about why there is NO penalty for people who sign up to tournaments and then go AFK or simply just don’t show up for the game. And they can do this going completely unpunished.

This has happened to me multiple times now and something really needs to be done about it. I literally just came out of a free tournament where the game was 2v4. One member just didn’t ever show up and the other 2 on the team were AFK. This is unfair on those trying to participate, taking out the fun and pretty much all your chances of winning.

Only thing I could think of was to report them and post this with a screen so these players can be named and shamed.

Since game release the thief class has had a very annoying bug with its downed state that needs to be fixed as it is pretty game breaking at certain times. If you use any #2 skill regardless of weapon set just before you go into downed state, you will cast the number 2 downed state move at the targets location and teleport there regardless whether u have smart casting aoe moves on or not, this is extremely frustrating as you will teleport towards your enemies and most likely die. And have completely wasted your initial escape move in downed state.

This game really needs some sort of reconnect button, numerous times I have been disconected during an instance and been booted out and had to zone back in and walk all the way through the instance again, this is especially annoying in explorables that dont have any waypoints and have traps along the way (perhaps another idea to add more waypoints) Further to that I just got disconected in the new fractal of the mists dungeon and I was the leader of the group, It decided to boot my entire party out of the instance.
Please fix this it has been a problem since release and was a feature in guild wars 1 anyway.

I recently just completed Twilight arbor explorable (forward forward path) and upon killing the nightmare tree the end of the instance did not trigger and no one in my party received a reward. Is this a known issue? Will we eventually get our reward that we deserve?
