Thanks for your research, but would you be so kind and point to the part where they say “… and therefore effective level won’t be displayed anymore because of this…” ?

Because from my point of view, both could be displayed according to this article. Effective level has nothing to do with the “level 1 to level 80” part.

• If you are testing combat mechanics — there have been more than a few bugs in the formulas over time, especially with how break-points work in this game.
• If you are a certain sort of player and always want to know what the game is assuming about your character.

In both cases, having the effective level display on the xp bar is a convenience and the disappearance of the number post-HoT appears to be intended behavior, i.e. this amounts to a suggestion to restore a past functionality, not a bug in how the game currently works.

Well, you are 91% correct. However, I am sure the effective level icon is simply overlapped by the mastery points – this is why I insist that it is a bug. I don’t see any post that this feature was intentionally removed, therefore I am rightfully looking for it.

Yes, I know that. The issue is that in combat I don’t usually view my Hero Panel. Before HoT it was visible in the EXP bar – and I am lacking that feature, because it has been overlapped by the Mastery Points.

Ever since the HoT expansion and masteries were introduced I cannot see my effective level, the only thing I can see is the spent mastery points.

When I am in an area where my effective level is different from my level I would really appreciate if I could see my effective level like before HoT.

Is there a way to fix this issue?

I am well aware that there are some compromised council members (possibly by the Inquest, or by their selfish desire – not important), and yes – we are far from perfect.

However, the casual Asura, the commoner (the 99% of the Asuran population) has nothing to do with the bad decisions of the council, as we are victims of their mischief also.

The main thing is that we do not deserve to be target of hate. Our children do not deserve to be bullied.

I am an Asura – and this is all you have to know about me.
This post is written in the hope of starting something noble, something elegant: a movement or rather a crusade in order to eliminate the cruelty of Tyrian Society both in the context of PVE and PVP gameplay. Let this post also be a silent cry of those ones who were not enough lucky to be here and tell these things in the face of our community.
Over the course of my journey I’ve been ostracized and beaten, and also been the subject of racism because I am an Asura, and I am very proud of it. As it is a known fact we are being unloved and disrespected because everyone in the continent is so jealous of our genius abilities.
From the depths of my whole heart I truly wish that this topic was invalid, but unfortunately I share these dreadful feelings with many of my kind. So I had to be brave and grab a pen in order to represent my poor tormented Asuran fellows.

As if it was not enough, people are likely to forge conspiracy theories against us. I often hear people in Lion’s Arch babbling their nonsense that we are about world domination – well, let me tell you one thing guys: you are badly mistaken, we never had such ulterior motive, and we will never have. Our inventions are for the good sake of Tyria.
Many of my friends are complaining that their children is being bullied in Lion’s Arch University of Science because they were born in Rata Sum. I also heard that a group of Charr students intend to prove an etymological relationship of the word Rata Sum and the word rat.
Also my nephew who is actually a newcomer student of Lion’s Arch Scientific Researcher High School of Young Geniuses, had to cover his cute long ears with a Santa Claus hat in order to hide his asuran origin.
Furthermore when I last was in Lion’s Arch to buy some new materials for my new weapon which is an essential part of my world domination master plan… but this is not important! The main thing is that I was bullied also.
Some people threatened me that they are going to make Asura Ear Stew from my ears. From my precious ears! Can you believe that? It is a known fact that asuran are so proud of their ears, and it means more than their own lives for them. Yet those savage humans still made disrespectful jokes of my cute ears.
I demand justice! Not just because of my selfish desire to make it even, I demand justice because I want to change my nephew’s life. I want him to be proud that he is an Asura. I also want the millions of my tormented and bullied fellows to live a happy and free life without the fear of being subject of racism.
So hereby I form an alliance, an organization of multiply guilds and people who would like to support our cause, who would like to join the demonstration in the light of our crusade.
The thing I am asking from all of our members who wish to be part of our organization is simple. You only have to play Daily PVP in Ranked Arena, and let everyone know through map chat why you are doing this.
You have to make them know that you prefer Daily PVP in Ranked Arena, because you represent a noble cause, because you stand for the Asura kind. You can create your own motto like “I stand for Asura Kind, and I am only here for my dailies.”, it is up to you. I only want you guys to spread that habit.
In case you have already finished your dailies, it is not problem. Just keep saying your motto in the map chat before the match starts like you still haven’t finished your dailies.
Doing Daily PVP in Ranked Arena is such a blasphemy in the eye of some snob players, so this was why I have chosen that outrageous method of demonstration for our cause.
This way our voice might reach the gods of Tyria, and we will finally be heard…

Dear ArenaNet support/developer team,

I used to send similar reports to you in mail, in ticket, in whatever in the past – without any feedback, but the automatic mail, so now I’ve decided to post here.

This is not about a single issue, and not only about Asura kind, but the Asura race is the most affected in this typical issue. So it is about textures. As you can see on the attached screenshot whenever my little creepy asura character inhales the edge of the staff “moves” inside his ears. I could not find a staff which does not bear that issue, and there are many more issues like that with longbows, etc. Also my human female’s skirt bears the same issue too.

I’m looking forward your fast assistance & fix, despite I know it is not your main cocern actually, but I hope one day you will have mercy on our poor kind’s ears.

Dear my friends, yesterday midnight me and my friends and girlfriends during a lan-party session have finished the story of Heart of Thorns.

So now I am here to tell you my experiences and feedbacks.
First of all, we really liked the Elite Specializations, they made gameplay really enjoyable, although I am sure without my friends I could not obtain the skill points alone.
The glider and the bouncing mushrooms and such features was a really nice idea, made the entire gameplay much more interesting and colourful, I’ve really enjoyed that part personally.
