Guild Wars 2

Being able to dye your weapons was a thing in the original Guild Wars series. It wasn’t added in for Guild Wars 2. I’d love to see it make a return, but not sure if that’ll ever be a thing for Guild Wars 2.

Seriously, if you are going to make exclusive holiday themed weapons or gear that you have to earn during the holiday, then don’t make them tradeable. It filters unneeded gold into the market. If you keep them tradeable, then re-release these skins for everyone to earn again. And for those who get angry with this opinion, I don’t care. It’s a dumb idea to make exclusives tradeable. It devalues the actual item.

Think about it, someone can go and save an insane amount of gold (if they are that insane) and buy said skin from say 2013, and then claim they were there from day one and got it the first year. There is no actual achievement for earning these items when they become tradeable. I personally don’t have the luxurious items like the Ghastly Grinning Shield despite me being here since beta, and honestly; this isn’t a complaint so I can get it again. I’d be much happier if they became untradeable and stuck with the people who currently have them or earned them.

But if you absolutely insist on keeping these so called “exclusive skins” tradeable each year, then re-release them for everyone to use. Otherwise, make them account bound like you did in Guild Wars 1 where when you got a helmet, they were added to your account, untradeable, and couldn’t get them again (until they recycled them after Guild Wars 2 came out of course).

I defend people’s accomplishments, even if I personally do not achieve them. I dislike seeing things being devalued or people buying “fame”. It’s a stupid system.

If you support this opinion, cool on you. You’re a swell lad. If not, you’re entitled to your opinion but I simply do not care. You’re still awesome, keep being awesome, but seriously, keep these items exclusive or re-release them.

In Heart of Thorns™, Obsidian Shard prices are 25 Airship Parts + 2450 Karma, but at the Temple of Balthazar, Obsidian Shards are just 2100 Karma.

Please don’t raise the prices of Obsidian Shards in the Temple. You already made Ascended Armor harder to get. Lower the Heart of Thorn™ Karma Prices. Do it for me, who reported this instead of keeping it to myself. Love you ArenaNet, don’t break my heart. </3

Sometimes I don’t play in content that require finishers, but I would still like to admire my finisher. Guild Wars 1 had multiple flashy emotes like /rank and /zaishin, so a /finisher emote that works like the /rank emote (once every 30 second execution) would be awesome. Also give us a way to show off our limited time and birthday finishers once in awhile if we’re casual / PvE content oriented players. :P (I know some PvE content have finisher opportunities, but they’re not all over the place.)

Hey guys, I get some of you have issues trying to complete the Mad King’s Clocktower. As an Emissary of the Mad King, I have decided to record one of my runs on the tower and share with you all; hoping it will help you achieve victory in conquering the Mad King’s Clocktower.

I did not have time to edit the video to add step by steps, but there are sections of the clocktower that you can jump completely over or “skip”. This helps in giving you a little bit of breathing room when scaling the tower.

A lot of people are white knighting saying it’s your characters birthday. If that were true, why the account wide minis? Why the account wide scrolls? Why the account wide birthday boosters? That argument becomes invalid when 3/4th’s of the entire birthday package is account wide in the first place.

True, birthdays were meant for that character alone, however; even in Guild Wars 1, the stuff you got was made available to transfer to all of your toons and even trade. So you’re argument isn’t valid when it was mostly common practice to reward the character for you to enjoy on your account. Not on that specific character.

Not only that, when the recent changes this year; mostly everything is being made account wide because the majority of the community had requested it. Account wide Legendary, Account Wide Commander Tag, Account Wide Wardrobe, etc. From the direction ArenaNet is taking, they are trying to make it so all of your work and progress you make effects all of your characters, not just one specific toon.

So, again. Where is your argument?

That’s the issue here. I have only about two or three characters that are at the two year mark. My most recent, and my now current main is about one month old that I rushed to 80 and put a commander tag on. I originally was a Charr Warrior to go the Rytlock route cause lets face it, he’s mostly everyone’s favorite. However, I was growing bored of the warrior for awhile and saw how Guardians played out around the first Halloween event. Thankfully, I already reserved a Guardian with a name during early access and began leveling him during Halloween.

Fast forward to about a month or two ago, my guardian became increasingly annoying to play. I enjoyed having a semi-large health pool. I am mainly a martial-gameplay player. I enjoy being on the offensive. At first, Guardians had this for me. After recent balances and nerfs, guardians became more paladin like and more support base. I couldn’t even push myself past 14k health pool and I felt really squishy in some areas if I wanted to be a damage type. That left a huge distaste in the game for me for awhile cause I felt “trapped” to that character since I put so much progress on that character.

I moved from my Charr Warrior due to the fact that I just can’t stand playing the Charr model. It’s clunky, hard to judge distances and jumps with, and just too large for me. At first it was fun, but now; not so much. So about a month ago, I made a Human Warrior and I rushed it to 80 in about 48 hours. Woo! Good for me, finally got my dream character. With the new wardrobe system, I didn’t need to go farm Arah again for three weeks straight to get my favorite armor skin (The Arah Plate Gear). I could simply use my transmutations from before the wardrobe update or exploration and use it on exotic gear of the stats I needed. Cool. I ended up also purchasing a Commander Tag for my human warrior to further push me to play that character and progress past the campaign and exploration that I had already done on my Guardian so I can officially put my guardian to rest.

However, now on my main; I have an age of one or two months. I have to wait about two whole years to have this functionality on my character I worked my butt off to get? It’s giving me another reason to lock myself to my guardian once again which is unfortunate. If I reach the account age of two years, it should be made account bound and usable on any of my selected characters as I desire. Specially as a now commander who is attempting to lead events, these cakes the rifle shoots out would be extremely useful for a commander to pass out to participants of that event.

This rifle has a lot of usefulness out on the field. It shouldn’t be locked to just one character. I shouldn’t have to wait another two years to obtain one. If I have it, I want to use it. It should be made account wide. Not soulbound.

Why not make it account bound? I purposely dropped two of my earlier characters to focus on a class I actually enjoy. The Birthday Blaster actually seems useful, but now it’s giving me more of a reason to trap myself to the other characters I don’t want to play. Why not make our birthday items account bound (except for the Skill Point Scrolls, I can see the balance in that.).

I would like to use this blaster across all my characters. Dx Who else is with me here?

Adry doesn’t seem to understand how events work in Guild Wars series. As someone who has played GW1 for 8+ years, and GW2 since it’s beta. When ArenaNet does events, they always release exclusive rewards for participating in these events. Every year these rewards are different. They are to reward loyal players who participated and took the time to earn these rewards during these events. The new items they release are for new players who join the game at a later time.

You will not see these wings return. The Teq wings were there specifically for the Teq / Dragon update and to reward players to engage and try out the new boss mechanics they added into these fights. If they had never made these exclusive, barely anyone would participate in these events when they are released and the community would spread out more often and go for the “rewards” on their own time. The point of these events are to bring the community together, make things lively, have players play together instead of spread out all over the world.

Short answer is. No, you’re not getting the wings. If you joined Guild Wars 2 after these events, then you don’t really have a right to say “They should be this”. You’re just like those people who complain about Excalibur Prime and their exclusivity to Founders on Warframe. If you joined before the event or played during the event, then it’s your fault for not working for the wings or ignoring the emails that are sent to you when each living story comes out.

This isn’t a bug report or anything, I just want to confirm it isn’t just me and a friend of mine on teamspeak. We’ve been crashing constantly today (I crashed about 6 times in the past 10 minutes now). We haven’t crashed before and we were playing just fine yesterday.

Was wondering if anyone else was getting this issue today? Think it might be because they’re pushing a patch out today? Doubtful that would effect the live client.

Hey guys, I am currently looking for a guild to join. Whether it be on another world or not. I have a Lv80 Guardian named Lucent Heart (Main), and a Lv80 Warrior (Alt). Been playing since the first beta weekend and well over 8 years of Guild Wars 1. I am mainly focused on PvE content, though I dabble into WvW and sPvP once in awhile to reap the rewards that the content has to offer.

I currently reside on Sea of Sorrows, though if a guild is generous enough to fund my transfer to a new world (I am not asking, nor suggesting), that would be awesome. Though, I still intend to join guilds from other worlds and guest onto those worlds when participating with said guild.

I am mainly looking for a guild with a Teamspeak/Ventrilo/Mumble or other third party VOIP server to interact with. Decent roster size & activity (not really fun logging into a guild roster of about 3 online members at a time and finding virtually nothing to do), and possibly even interact with other experienced players of different professions to hopefully start up another character.

What I have to offer to a guild is experience, professionalism, an open mind, humor, and enthusiasm.

There are times I do take small breaks from the game due to real life, jobs, or other games, so I am looking for a laid back guild that can offer a free environment to it’s players. I’ve had some pretty bad guilds in my time playing Guild Wars 2 and I am hoping to avoid the issues I had before with my previous guilds.

+1 for the old log-in screen. The little window now is a step backward in my opinion and have no idea why it was done. The old one was so clean and imposing.

I think it was because it is a clean and fast launcher, that features the current Living Story and updates. It also loads you into the game pretty quick, with no need to open the login screen, then type in your password, and then login.

Yes, it can be done. As a veteran player from Guild Wars 1, it is entirely possible. Guild Wars one had a basic launcher that downloaded updates if they were necessary then would close out of the patcher and open the initial program, which had a log-in screen and a news feed to the right.

With the Guild Wars 2 Log-in screen, they can either put the news feed above the log-in box, or on the character selection screen in a tab (now that there are currently two tabs.. Trophies and Achievements).

As for the Authenticate System, World of Warcraft, Runescape, and a few other MMORPGs (Me being part of the press for a short time), all have the authenticate system built into their log-in screen. Everything can be added to the log-in screen and would take just as much time to log-in as the current launcher does.

The Log-in screen is an essential part to an MMORPG. When you sit down and open up a game, the Log-in screen is sort of a portal to us RPG addicts. It presents us with something unknown and epic, and excites us for what we’re about to discover and explore. It’s like a sign that says “Your adventure starts here!” as we log in and leap into the game.

That’s the thing, Guild Wars 1 had a loader to download patches, and that was it. When the game started, you had a log-in screen with a news feed on the right side. It’s entirely possible to fit a news feed into the log-in screen. Preferably, I don’t want a news feed in the log-in screen. It would actually be beneficial to put a News Feed at the character select screen since you already have a Trophy and Achievement panel. Nothing is stopping them from putting in a third panel for a News Feed API.

As the title says, is the balloon tower achievement permanent and can be gotten at anytime in the game after this event? Or do I need to rush it tonight to get them? My friend and I want the Balloon, but we’ve been busy the past week or two.

I seriously hope the balloon can be gotten even after the Queen’s Jubilee.

Seriously, make it so it teleports you instantly once you fall off the edge of the race track. If you going to make a “flinch” mechanic where if you fall and wait 3 seconds to continue racing, make it teleport you instantly if you fall. Not wait the 3-5 seconds to hit the ground, then teleport plus the “flinch”. It’s highly irritating. Either make us wait for the drop, or wait for the flinch. Not both.

You NEED to post a death statistic of how many players died across all worlds in this one map alone after this entire event. To see how many people have fallen to their death on this map. I would absolutely LOVE to see the numbers.

Also noticed that there is a bug. You can only screenshot on the first initial page where it says “Items I’m Selling”, but if you select any other option, you can no longer screenshot. The Hotkey stops working and it doesn’t actually select the option. Only shows it.

But here is the screenshot of my transaction list being completely wiped.

So, I log in today to find out that my transaction list is completely empty. All the items I was selling, and the items I had up for “Buying”. I just lost about 10g with of stuff cause of my transaction list being wiped!

RNG is just that RNG, you can get it on the first try or never. BUT.

1 Jade ticket / 0.04 % = 2,500 coffers
2,500 × 2 s 02 b = 50 g 50 s
50 g 50 s / 2 g 15 s 82 b (price of selling gems)= 23.39 times x 100 = 2339.9 gems

You can only buy 800 and 1600 gems = 2,400 gems and that will cost you $ 30 usd.

So a Jade ticket is about $ 30 usd

New Guilds Wars 2 game = $ 49.99 usd.

Sorry about the off-topic, but something that I’ve been wondering lately… how do you keep track of how many coffers you’ve opened? I’ve seen people talking about “I oppened about X coffers”, but in several threads I’ve seen posts like CelebrityX that says exactly how many. Do you keep a counter or something?.

Going back on topic, one thing that I’d like to know is whether the DR is affecting the coffers somehow. I’m saying this because I got a ticket (no minis so far, though) with a guesstimate of between 150 and 200 coffers (based on the fact that I had 73/300 holographic things killed back then and I felt I was getting 3x more coffers from mobs), and well, I wasn’t really farming them back then, just getting them as I played, and opening them as soon as I got them, and I know of at least 3 guildies that got tickets while playing that way as well (granted, it’s a very large guild), while at the same time I keep reading of people buying them off the TP in the thousands and getting nothing after (I guess) opening them all at once. Just wondering a bit.

This is actually interesting. I am glad you brought this up, because I am seeing the difference as well. People who buy them rarely get them as drops, but people who actually kill for them do.

Also, most of us can keep track of them because we buy them by the stacks (A stack being 250 each). So it’s just basic math as long as we keep track of how many stacks we buy.

RNG is RNG, what did you ecpect? Sometimes people lack the understanding of statistics… blame it on luck, blame it on something else. The only thing you could moan about is that we have no clear chances displayed for the specific items, but it always was you that took the decision to buy these RNG items.

You obviously have NO idea what RNG stands for then. Do you. There are NO statistics involved with RNG. RNG stands for Random Number Generator. How RNG works is it basically sets an item to a specific number, and then adds a pool of numbers to that hat. That being said, it is ENTIRELY luck if you manage to pull that number out of the hat and win said item. THAT is how RNG works. Now, the chance or odds of pulling the number out of this said hat is entirely based on how many “numbers” ArenaNet decides to put in this hat. Such as a crafting item that is common. They could put 2 numbers in the hat, then there is a 50/50 chance you’ll get it. Or, they could put 1000 numbers into that hat, and then it becomes a 1/1000 or 0.1% chance to obtain said item.

You’re gambling your money on a guess pretty much. You’re throwing your money on “Luck”, and that is the exact essence of gambling good sir.

I bought 0 coffers, opened about 300 from drops only. I got one ticket, 3 or 4 knight minis, and a wing cover. Oh the cover was from a small chest drop not a coffer. I am feeling lucky now but this is the first ticket of any sort that I have found. The reason for my response is not to gloat but to state that it is completely unnecessary to buy them.

ArenaNet changing my Title. Pfft. Well, if you are spending real money on RNG (Rich Coffers), isn’t that a form of gambling? If so, I thought that was illegal anyways? o.O (Not trying to start anything by the way. Just for curiousity sakes.

So, I am writing this thread because I have opened almost 1,500 Coffers just now.. and have yet to receive a ticket.

That being said, I decided to do some calculations.

200 Coffers = 4g 60s. (Not a bad price if I do say so myself)

I opened about 1,500 Coffers so far. Doing the math.. it adds out to be..

4.60 × 1,500 = 69g.

I’ve burned through 69g so far. So, someone mentions (You should’ve just used that gold to buy gems and get rich coffers.)

5 Rich Coffers = 400 Gems.

400 Gems = 12g 60s.

At my success rate with the normal coffers (1,500 coffers).. buying the Rich Coffers seems more expensive then buying the Normal Coffers in terms of RNG Luck.

200 Coffers = 4g, 60s
5 Rich Offers = 12g, 60s

1,500 Normal Coffers expended..

See where I am going? I am not sinking my gold, or money into RNG. The rich coffers can suck it< This whole Coffer thing is a sham. We all should be garunteed atleast one ticket per set number of Coffers we’ve burned off. This is just insane.

So I noticed, during each holiday event, Zommoros gets better costumes and armor skins then we do. When do we finally get cool looking armor skins like him?!

First a Cauldron, then a Snow Globe, and now a Dragon?! Seriously?!

I want armor skins, stop spoiling Zommoros!

So, being the Guild Wars 1 vet that I am, I had obtained over 150 Fireworks from about 500 coffers. That being said, I saw achievements and Fireworks and the first thought that cross my mind was “PARTY POINTS!” and spam clicked them and burned through all 150 fireworks like a dumbarse.

Only to realize, it didn’t count for my achievement cause I didn’t realize it gave you skills in the skill bar for each one and actually had to launch them. So I wasted away 150 Fireworks. I blame my habits from Guild Wars 1.

Moral of the story is..

I want it to stay. It is fun. Plus, (on a purely selfish level) I simply won’t be able to get the baubles needed to get the skin I want in 30 days, because… well… I’m a married, working, father, who coaches a spring sport.

The skins drop at a decent rate inside the actual instance as well. I get one at a rate of 1 of 5 runs. So they aren’t hard to get. No worries man.

So, I am typing this up on my Droid 4 cause I am away from the PC at the moment.

Anyways, I have been hearing a lot of things about November 15th’s patch saying that Legendary class weapons will become easier to craft/obtain. Then in the recent blog post, Lindsey had stated that precursers will start being found in a “scavenger hunt” styled way.

I am curious about this and I would like ArenaNet to be able to answer this next question.

Can you guys give any details as to how Legendary class weapons will become easier to obtain, and about this “scavenger hunt” idea with the precursers?

I would like to discuss this topic with my audience on my livestream on the 14th.

So as the title says, are there any guides on how to do Arah in the fastest time possible? My guildies keep telling me each path takes like 3 hours each and won’t do the dungeon with me. I want to get my armor set completed but this is starting to hinder my plans and goals before November 15th.

Any guides or videos, please anything you can share would be good.

My IGN is Lucent Heart. I am a level 80 Gladiator running 0/10/30/30/0 Shout Build.

This feature existed in Guild Wars 1. Simply put, allow us to store our costumes we buy on an NPC or costume inventory dedicated to costumes so they do not take up our actual inventory (Since it’s so limited in space). Also, what if we accidently delete our Costumes? What then? Do we have to buy a whole new set? Add something that allow us to redeem our costumes again after we delete them. I hate having to worry about accidently deleting my costume, or not being able to have them across all my characters. I also HATE HATE HATE the fact that all my costumes take up like one and a half 12 Slot Boxes..

So yeah, I was waiting for a few members to come back from AFK in Ascalonian Catacombs, when I began to dance. I was also listening to music as we grinded AC EXP for Tears when this song began to play as I was dancing and it all matched. Figured I’d share.

Is it level based? Like, I am level 33 doing this quest and all I seem to be getting is greens. Same with the Labrynth. I am wondering.. is the drops based on level? Like you have to be 35+ to get Rares, and like 50+ to get exotics to drop? Or can level 30’s still get exotic drops as well? It’s really important that this gets answered cause if it’s level based.. then it seems like this event is tiered to the end game players and not the low end players..

So, I don’t know how to get the last point in this achievement path. I’ve done the Clock Tower (and finished it), I’ve done the Rumbler thing and won like twice. I’ve done the Labrynth, killed the Family-Sized Candy Corn champ, and I have also done that Lunatic Inquisition thing but my Mad King’s World achievement is still at 3/4. What do I need to do to max it?
