Ok great staying power I feel, though that could just be me not having any other heavy armour classes at 80.
BUT! Pillowfisted. In every sense. Damage is low and slow AND the skills visual and audio effects dont FEEL as powerful as other classes. Which is weird, when your hammer is opening holes in space to let through fire and ice or a long line of explosions and the axe in your offhand is doingthe same, you should feel like youre hitting stuff.
I actually like it. It’s not a crippling flaw like you make out, and its actually a very simple mechanic to manage.
Why do you want to suck some of the uniqueness out of the new class?
Interesting point given that everyone else boasts hugely about the power of grenadiers…

I’m more interested in the fact that the ascended gear already posted is better than the exotic it is replacing.

K, stop telling Kaizer what he means, since you obviously dont know. There is an exit to Lions arch guarded by Tengu which DOES face into the sea of sorrows.
I suspect he is referring to that.
And yes swift, tengu is the one race interesting enough that i might make a non-asura … tengu and skritt …

Having special effects of my back item show up on my kit backpack would be nice too.
Flames from mad memories or the guild sigil from a guild backpack for example.
And yeah, I’m not even interested in progressing toward legendary weapons at the moment because, 1 i’m an asura so noone would see them if i’m not actually wailing with them in combat and 2 i’m an engineer so i wont be getting any benefit from them in combat.
It is also good for a small sellection of dugeon bosses and events. But yeah, power armour is terribad.
Other golems are great flak and surprise damage though, given you are apparently an asura
I can stack 16-20 bleed on my own, easy. Just not with the pistols. Need plenty of +condition time runes too, i use mad king because the birdies on elite entertain me.
The flamer has a lot of hits per second, that’s a lot of chances to crit. Add burn at the last hit of each blast. Then i stack poison and confuse because I’m an asura and have the skills for it. Then you get a condition damage build racking up close to warrior damage at skirmish range.
Dont bother with the zerker set. Go for a CD, prec, tough set of dungeon armour instead. Although that will probably be your defensive set.
I recommend flamer with as many condition on critical traits as you can. Especially if you trade out those adventurer runes for something with condition duration.
So I’ve got a condition damage flamer engineer. Asuran, naturally. I love playing her, combat is great at the skirmish range like that and the long melee type of the flamethrower attack is simply brilliant to work with.
The problem is that every other character I roll winds up relegated to crafting and nothing else because I just dont find playing them fun when i could be playing my engineer.
So can any of the other engineers out there recommend a class/build that plays with the same sort of mobility and damage that my engie does while still giving me the variety that is apparently driving me to try all these classes?
As a note, not interested in PvP. PvP can … go away expediously.
It would e nice to have my hard earned dungeon rifles do something though, even just altering the look of the flamer for showing off purposes would be nice.
Let me just preface this with PvP can go die in a fire, i dont care what you tell me about PvP because i will never want to play it.

I dont get this whole thread. I use a CD flamethrower build, I’m asuran so I can stack poison as well with radiation field and if i wanted to drop an elixir i could stack confusion with technobabble and have all the damage dealing conditions at once. Using the flamer and P, CD, T nightmare armour. Since i fitted that with mad king runes i can reach the bleed cap alone and keep it there much longer than my thief can.
I’ll admit 3-2 has trouble with walls and uneven ground, it quite pisses me off too. Still, that is only a fraction of the time and I dont usually have trouble scoring the double hit.
Dropping the power for toughness lowers my straight damage, which i dont care about since my condition damage is huge and doesnt suffer damage mitigation. But it also means that with blind and vigor I can pull, tank and run better than a lot of the warriors and guardians I’ve wound up stuck in a dungeon with.
Flamethrower 1 is also a melee attack for damage calculation purposes, which means that even with 400+ range, it cant be obstructed. The shape of the attack is also a very wide cone, wider than it’s animation lets on, wide enough to cover about half the area of a radiation field, except it has no cooldown, stacks 3-7 bleed and/or vulnerability and refreshes your stack of burning.
Once again, i dont know about PvP and i dont care. Once i stopped trying to like the rifle and switched to kits, engie is by far my favourite class
