Getting Graped By Your Old WVW Clan in EB: Priceless.
Server Transfers: This Is Why I Stopped Playing GW2.
We held Mendons for as long as we could but that treb spot you got us from was awsome, never seen Mendons trebbed from there before.
I gotta ask though, I went up against you guys when I was on FA [uA] months back just before random match ups came into play, did you guys lose a lot of numbers or something? I remember everytime I logged into WvW you would pretty much have waypoints in every keep and insane numbers everywhere…
We lost 90% of our wvw guilds and players.
In fact, they kitten us with glee now.
Can you believe it.
GW2: the best PvE game ever.
It’s 1 v 50 in EB
Anet, stop &&&ing up my game!
‘I am T1, I love new BLs, I don’t notice any bad…’
Over the past few months we’ve seen a steady rate of player migration from underpopulated to heavily populated servers. The rate has increased lately.
Why did Anet choose not to put transfer locks on T1 servers? I’m guessing they are making money off the transfers… and they don’t want that to stop. Now every player (who’s capable of earning/buying 1800 gems) can be T1.
Because, let’s face it, if people can pay to switch to the side that’s already winning, they will. Especially if there is no recourse, no penalty. In fact, players are rewarded with 100% win, and Anet is rewarded with $22.50 USD per transfer.
Not going to change.
To start off I DO like the champ loot system that was recently implemented at the start of the queen’s jubilee patch. However, its becoming a real problem for those of us that want to actually complete events, rather than intentionally failing them so you can farm champions. Most recently on my home server, Dragonbrand, I was trying to complete the Gates of Arah meta event. While trying to break the elemental cauldrons myself and a few others were constantly getting yelled at to stop. Aggressively yelled at, including threats to myself, friends, and family. Something needs to be done about this. A good option would be to limit the number of bags you can get or something. Please ArenaNet look into this.
Why do you want to complete the Gates of Arah meta-event? Just curious. You could guest on a different server to get whatever you need done.
Currently most servers have this meta-event completed due to trolls.

Round Three. Fight!

To OP: The shield doesn’t block anything unless you tell it to.
You can’t stand there in this game and tank. Use the bazillion skills you have to block, heal, mitigate, reflect.
It’s the twitchiest class in the game imo. If you block at exactly the right time, you can save your entire group. You can watch enemies kill themselves when their projectiles bounce off your barrier back at them. And to top that off, you can switch to staff and drop fifteen stacks of might and heal for 2400 with one skill.
It’s an underplayed class because the damage is not that great, but the utility is insane.

If nothing else, Conditionmancer is a ton of fun. Nuking an entire zerg while they stack is juicy.
I never thought I’d say this, but I miss you guys.
T2 not as fun. :p
It’s a strong build.
…Traits?
I think it’s funny that people have to use 1 of 3 slots for a skill just to kill people who are already down. Sort of a game design flaw there.
I use very similar builds. Try it with sword/torch vs thief, ele. (4 reveals stealth in melee range, 2 and 7 teleprot to ele).
1 – Attack – Attack (more damage) – Attack stacks vulnerability
2 – Ground symbol that burns (larger area) and considered a symbol, so it can get the trait benefits, such as “Symbols are larger” and "Symbols last longer
3 – SameEvery who uses scepter will use most of the time a torch as a offhand.
4 – Same
5 – A consecration that burns foes around and removes condition, stays on the ground for 3 seconds
Cleansing Flame is pure awesome. No need to change. Plus, Guardians already have the skill you suggest. Lots of them:
Fire field with stability – Hallowed Ground
AOE with area purge condition – Purging Flames
AOE with purge individual condition – Smite Condition
What you suggest exists as a Ranger torch skill:
Fire symbol with burning condition – Bonfire
The Scepter field idea is really good. Right now, Scepter 2 – Smite is the only aoe ground field that doesn’t actually leave a field. Make it fire, and Guard would have fire combo. I like it. Would make scepter more desireable instead of the blah it currently is.
The change in layout is really just a “reprogramming” exercise in our finger mashing — we’ll adapt to that eventually.
Not before I get annoyed and log out.
The change in symbol c/d is disappointing. The justification is based around retaliation. However the increased cooldown has other effects such as:
1. Reduces guardian DPS because the symbol pulses damage.
2. Reduces guardian Healing/Survivability because the symbol pulses healing (with traits)
3. Reduces combo finishers when soloingSo adjusting for retaliation had far reaching effects beyond just retaliation. It’s a bad way to compensate for that boon.
The retaliation field is pretty much useless. I kept using it but nothing would happen. I suppose if you were in the middle of 10 mobs who did tons of damage and had low health… you could pop this skill and the mobs would damage themselves some, and then you would die. Sounds awesome.
There is no way in hell the “fix” improves combos.
Look at what GS did before:
2 = Combo field every 10 sec
3 = Spin finisher every 10 sec
4 = Leap finisher
5 = Spin finisher
What GS does now:
2 = Spin every 10 sec
3 = Leap
4 = Combo field every 20 sec
5 = Spin
I think when they say “improve” GS combos they really mean “nerf”, “confuse”, “ruin”, “annoy”….
Result of changes:
a) Skill slots ruined after just getting used to where they are (2,3,4 etc). Had to use a different weapon, or change keybinds in options and use GS only.
b) Annoyed to hell trying to learn the new rotation… because there isn’t one. The fact that GS actually had a nice skill rotation, and then it was taken away, means that whoever changed it is an idiot, and never played GS Guard, or was ordered to do so by someone who never played or hates GS guard, and wanted to make it clunky, unintuitive, confusing where before it was smooth, simple, sensible. Fail.
c) Heavily investing in weaopons other than GS. Done with GS.
d) Playing characters other than Gurad. Done with Guard.
e) Playing games other than GW2.
So I assume it’s been changed back and I can log in now.
Nope, still doing.
I’m sorry, am I the only one who gets lots of blues valued at 60 copper each from dungeons? Greens worth 1.5s, and some rares that can be salvaged for Ectos and such? 13 silver…
Yeah, each dungeon should just give 10 gold at the end, right guys?
The gear from the dungeons themselves and selling them is worth it.
Not when you consider the effort and time taken in open world pve to earn the same amount is about 1/10th it takes in dungeons. The only difference is tokens.
I’m glad you find it profitable, but I disagree on that.
So what is Anet’s position? “Working as intended.” Interesting. That means they will not change the rewards or the difficulty. I also disagree with Anet there.
To find a group for HoW, for instance, is rare. Consider that if I could do HoW 24/7, until I had 1500 tokens or whatever it takes to get a full set of armor and a Greatsword, the tokens would no longer matter. I’d have enough gold/gear to match what the tokens provide.
Lastly, in order farm a dungeon ‘well’ and do speed runs, you have to have the gear obtained by farming the dungeon and doing speed runs….

I have stopped playing my lvl 80 due to there being no profit in dungeoning. For all that pain and suffering, I’d expect a very nice peice of gear. We don’t even get a pat on the back as a reward, more like the middle finger. Stop giving me middle fingers as rewards and I’ll start playing end-game.
For now I’m piddling around with alts, looking for content I haven’t done yet, but my foot is halfway out the door.
“Working as intended” continues like this and I will return the middle finger.

There are areas I’ve heard of where players were rolled back to 97% completion after previously having 100% and received rewards for that particular area.
Perhaps more was added to the maps these past few patches?
Solution to sirens: reduce sound quality one notch in options and restart game.
Think I’ll wait until they fix things before finishing the story. Thanks for the heads up.
If they fix the reward, they could give it to everyone who has completed the story. Obviously that would not be over-rewarding anyone since it’s all vendor trash.
IKR… my Guard has all these burn skills that do varying amounts of burn damage, but you can’t stack burn effects at all, so condition damage is completely useless as a means to deal damage. Have to rely on power and the initial damage dealt. You can tell conditions suck by all the low cost cd gear on market.
But for the equation, you have to divide by 1000 for level 80 stats to get the damage multiplier.
What it comes down to is: 2000 power = 1x increase in damage, 1000 power = 0x increase in damage. I’m not even sure you do any damage at all if your power was 1000 at lvl 80.

Sorry, I was not being as nice as I could have, I know. But the answer is obvious to anyone who’s ever had this problem before. Again, my apologies.
The answer is that your card is at the very bottom end of the requirements, which means that in order to run the game you’re going to have to turn your GFX settings all the way down—lowest on everything—just to get the game to run without crashing, or without those hideous artifacts. 99% of the time, if you turn up the graphics details in the options with a lowest possible system, you will get major, game breaking bugs, just like the ones you are seeing in your video. I know because I’ve done it! I’ve had that same problem with games in the past while using cards that barely meet the requirements. And I know that a new card is the solution because I’ve solved the problem by buying a decent card for $120 and never ever had the problem again.
Solutions:
1. Turn all graphics settings to absolute minimum. Lowest possible on everything. If there’s an ‘on/off’ setting, turn it to off. If there’s a ‘low’ setting, go one notch below that. If that solves your problem, then the problem is not with GW2, it’s not a bug at all, but instead it’s that your card can’t display the game the way you want it to. You need a better card.
2. Your card is in fact a native GFX card included on motherboards, and not a gaming card. Your card has a lower specification than a 9800GT, which I know would have problems with this game, because I had that card, and loved it, but it’s jsut too old and too small to display this game. At all. I don’t say ‘display this game well’ because a 9800GT would fry itself trying to display this game well. And it wouldn’t display the game well in the process! Also, note that the 9800Gt is better than the minimum requirements, but still would have serious problems such as lag, and artifacts like yours.
Anyway, the proof is in the pudding. So in case you’re wondering, I upgraded from my trustworthy GeForce 9800GT 1GB 16x card to an AMD HD 6700 1GB PCI-e 2.0 x16 (so far, no noticeable difference in general video quality between equivalent GeForce and Radeon cards). I also upgraded my RAM from 2GB to 8GB, upgraded my motherboard, my CPU, and went to Win7. I can tell you that if you aren’t running on a newer PC—not neccessarily a more expensive, top-end pc, but just a newer one—that you aren’t going to get the experience you should get, that you want to get. Everyone should get to play GW2 with graphics at least as nice as it looks to me, if not even better. My midline PC runs this game with no problems, no lag, even with hundreds of players visible and fighting in WvW (I do occasionally have GFX lag due to skill effects in massive raids). It’s astounding how beautiful this game is… you should see it like this!
p.s. I have a 23" monitor running at 1080i native. It’s easily the best improvement to my system, and it was less than $250.
Oh, I forgot. Proof. Sooooo, look at these shots compared to all the previous MMOs out there. They all want to look like GW2, but sadly, they can’t. They want to run lag-free with 200 characters on the screen in 1080… but they cannot. Kudos to ArenaNet!
P.S. Anti-aliasing is turned off, since at 1080i it looks worse IMO in real-time.

So after chuckling for a few minutes and making some obnoxious post about how your GFX card sucks, I just have to ask:
1. Is this the card that’s on the MB of your PC? Or:
2. Did you buy and install this GFX card?
3. Does your card meet the minimum requirements? Does it meet the reccomended requirements?
