Why “prefer” the 32 bit client? I mean, by what actual standard do you “prefer” that older client?
I think he meant “prefer” as “runs better”.
I’m on the same boat. Tried a number of times to run the 64bit version hoping the patches at least addressed some of the issues but on my potato laptop (a 2011 one with Win 7 64) simply is a no-no.
Stuttering, losing connection especially in wvw and generally the game is at least 30% slower and less fluid. Nothing of this happens with the 32bit version or with any other game.
So I’m waiting too for next week, if the new expac runs on 64bit only I’m afraid it’ll be goodbye Gw2 for me.
You might take a look at this thread
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/elementalist/PvP-Staff-Elementalist-Build
See if you can suit it to your needs or move straight to an auramancer build
Another, maybe faster, method is to set options – content guide to “hide events and personal story”. It’ll point you to the closest poi/vista/heart you’re missing on that map.
Useful if you’re left with few things, VERY useful in Draconis Mons ;_;
You’ll find plenty of “optimal” (shortest time) crafting guides, but those require a bit of money too, for example:
http://gw2crafts.net/weaponcraft_400.html
My advice, and I’ve 500 on all crafting disciplines, is to use discover to craft exotics with the materials you already have, refine all that you can when new materials unlock, and have a bit of patience. If possible kick a crafting booster too, but with 40ish exotics or less you should achieve that 500 and save a good amount of money too.
If you’re in need of raw materials, since you’re playing wvw only, try to get a https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Copper-Fed_Salvage-o-Matic so you can recycle blue-greens and bank or sell the results. Maybe it’s just me but I recieve plenty of mithril and silk for example.
Good luck
My fault, recipes are in Tarir’s meta only.

Ps: just in case, you can use the mf to change stats if you eventually drop another set. Prices on tp are quite low
Viper is only crafted or (very rarely) dropped by certain chests, wvw rank up ones for example.
To equip alts I usually go to a temple and buy some exotics for karma. Grent in Cursed Shores is a good one since it gives you berserker stats.
Once you’ve the stats you need use the wardrobe to adjust your looks as you see fit.
- Edited: no rank up chests for viper’s, they may drop after Tarir’s meta

Temple of Grenth (sw Cursed Shore) for the berserker one
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cathedral_of_Silence
Valkyrie is by crafting only (eventually try the tp)
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Equipment_acquisition_by_stats#Level_80_exotic_equipment
Hope it helps
Storywise I would go to Cursed Shores first. As Inculpatus told you, you’ll have karma exotic armor ready for picking. Especially if you reach Grenth Temple (s-w corner of the map), pieces have berserker’s stats. If you don’t feel good yet in full bers you can find a vendor near Arah with a soldier stats version.
Pretty easy soloable map for exploring.
Southsun is a very small map that you can reach from Lion’s Arch. Boring and bad designed imho you’ll soon forget about it except if you’ll want to do the Karka Queen boss.
Dry Top and Silverwastes were added with living history and are home to “mega” pve events. You can reach both from Brisban. I don’t like the jumping puzzle set of Dry Top but it’s just me If you’ve not HoT, Silverwastes is still one of the best, if not the best, place to farm (Vinewrath, chest farms, etc). Be only sure to take with you some condi cleanse and eventually take a look at LFG in Open Tyria for a “good” open instance. Again, no big trouble if you’re just exploring.
Cheers o/
Was part of last patch

Check under “Items”
Added a Mystic Forge recipe to change the stats on ascended weapons and armor. The recipe is as follows:
Ingredient 1: An ascended weapon or armor piece.
Ingredient 2: The exotic insignia or inscription for the desired stats.
Ingredient 3: Five globs of ectoplasm.
Ingredient 4: An Anthology of Heroes, purchased from Miyani for 10 spirit shards.
Result: A piece of ascended gear with the stats of the inscription or insignia of the same type as the piece of gear that went in.
Example: Zojja’s Claymore + Knight’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscription + Five Globs of Ectoplasm + Anthology of Heroes = Beigarth’s Claymore
NOTE: All upgrades are lost as part of this conversion.
First answer will be: “depends on your build” :P
If you’re looking for lvl80 karma armors well, they’re in Orr temples.
Take a look here under “Acquisition”
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Temple_armor
Judging by what you said I would pick something under soldier or cleric adding few bers pieces when you’ll feel comfy enough to start increasing damage.
Cheers
Ps: Ops, BB was faster than me
With perma invulnerability, warping, instant teleport inside keeps and towers, insane damage and so on you are welcome to try…
This is going beyond ridiculous.
Same guy wrecking everything for 3 weeks in a row. Gj Anet!
As you said, with the exception of Word Bosses it’s not possible to track a single meta-event inside the megaserver system (btw they’re so many that maybe it’ll be impractical)
What you have seen it’s probably people “jumping” from an event to the next for the daily reward. It requires 100% of that map complete (or that the event is inside the explored area) but if you pick “Disable personal history” under the options for content guide it should point to the closest event in progress
Happy New Year to you too!
But… cookies? * _ *
As a WSR rallybot i second what Bubi said. Really DZ moves only in zerg and runs from anything else if not vastly superior in numbers (3vs1 and up). More than one time they turned away if a tower was defended by one (1) regular ac…
Back to topic i’ll add my impressions.
Fort Ranik (FR): They are able to field huge, for our league, numbers but very bad players individually or in small groups. They lose many engagements maybe because not used to small furrballs
Vabbi: As with us they suffer coverage, very good roamers btw
Underworld: Even less numbers than Vabbi, I think they are in the situation that we were a few months ago. They need to organize a bit. They are becomimg more cunning in the meantime. Their yesterday’s cap of SM while we were facing FR on another side was very well played.
A brief summary on what happened this morning.
I was one of the two (then three) defenders at WSR Garrison. Managed, as said, to negate the cap and to kill him a number of times. The cheater ressed on the spot and started using “warping” cheat to give us an harder time following him. Ultimately he desisted for the time being but moved to cap Sunnyhill. As soon as it was swapped I rushed to Cragtop. Lord was already at 5% but managed to stop the cap there too.
Then the cheater moved under the map (I could hear the “evade+caltrops” sounds) but seeing me staying moved to EB first then returned to finish the job.
GM said that they are online 24/7. After all written here, after all the reports and videos, after a whole week of cheating at the very same hours, I seriously doubt that someone cares.
Sorry if I sounded harsh
And…. he’s up again, openly laughing at us too.
Flipped all three keeps in our border in a matter of minutes.
One more for EOTM, useless to fight like this
Take the asura gates in Lion’s Arch – Gate Hub Plaza to reach a specific race city. From there move to the respective starting map.
You can tell which gate goes where by hovering the cursor over them, getting close enough or taking a look at the guards near them
Cheers
Since thieves bring very little to a zerg in terms of utilities, that leaves you with mesmer.
Deadly in roaming and you can also assist the rest of your group with things like feedback, time warps etc
Btw you want survivability so… be ready with those stealth buttons
Try taking a look at this post (Orr is the last one).
Helped a lot with the explorer achievements, I bet it’s one of those
You are right :/ I’ve been fooled by the large amount of files remaining but it keeps diminishing after each reset. Showing the amount of data left instead of the one downloaded should heve been more helpful.
@Air: that was my backup plan. Download a part, wait for the counter to reset with the client open, download the rest. I can take things easier it seems.
Thanks for the advice and sorry for the inconvenience.
We can end here. Bye!
If the download is not complete yes (or at least is what happens to me)
It resumes only if you don’t close the client
(edited by Marpo.8695)
Hello everyone,
I’ve an issue with the last patch. Since my provider caps to 1Gb a day the downloaded data I cannot update to latest version. Interrupting and resuming the process later is to no avail since the client restarts from the beginning. So here goes my suggestion(s)
- Add a “resume” function to the client
- Provide a link for a manual download (with download managers you can split the process on different occasions)
Kind regards and sorry for my bad english ^^
