Seriously?? 2h Axe with nice skills only for town clothes?? Anet, we want play with our warriors using this weapon and skills.

Anet has great heavy armor designs how you can see in his concept arts. However and I don’t know why, they bring us heavy armors that look medium armor and so horrible, Ascended and Aetherblade heavy armor skins are two examples.

Finaly someone using a Sword&Shield combo instead of a blunt weapon! I was tired to see all those people building confusion warriors around Mace or Hammer…
But i’m surprised you took bullcharge and stomp, wouldn’t you be better by replacing Dolyak Signet with Balanced Stance and Stomp with Kick instead for your build? Sinds those have pretty long animations and make it hard to interupt any good players? Also you are a primary condition build, isn’t that retaliation you deal a bit weak and situational?
I took Bull’s Charge because the majority of classes fight at range and is a great interrup from far away and I prefer Stomp vs Kick because it’s easy evade Kick and your foe need to be in front of you and using Stomp I have 1 stun breaker and knockdown my foe around me. And finally I prefer run with Dolyak Signet because normally I don’t need to use stability, and DS give me more survivability. But this is my way to play, not the best, but it’s funny.

I wanna bring you a short view which is one of the greatest differences because warrior is on the bottom class mainly in PVP in my opinion.
My main character is a warrior but is very difficult to play with it in tPVP, everyone know why.. And when I play tPVP I only see Engineers, Rangers, Necromancers, Guardians and a few Elementalists, Mesmers and Thiefs. I’m forced to play with one of these classes to play tPVP because warrior are useless and then I saw a one great difference between warriors and the other classes.
I realized that the vast majority of Rangers play spirit build, Necros play minions build and Engineers play turrets build because these builds are amazing. We gonna see why…
Ranger spirits: When ragner summon spirits obtain passive and active utility skills (protecction, swiftness, immobilize, cripple, chilled, heals and cure conditions…).
Necromancer minions: When necros summon minions obtain passive and active utility skills (minions can attack and necros can poison, immobilize, knockback, blind, break stun…)
Engineer turrets: When engineer summon turrets obtain passive and active utility skills (turrets can attack and engi can regen, inmmobilize, stun, blid, bleeds, knockback, chilled, heal, cripple…)
In a less level we could find the other classes summons. Guardians with spirit weapons, Elementalist and glyphs which also obtain passive and active benefits.
Well, what are the warrior summons? BANNERS, which give us useless skills, eliminate our weapons skills and burst and only increase our stats. If we spend 30 points in Tactics tree we obtain a regen, but we only need 1 banner and run with more is useless. Warrior haven’t Banner build as Spirit Ranger build, Minion Necro Build or Turret Engi build because we haven’t benefits like they have (passive and active utility skills)
My suggestions to Anet: Change Banner mechanics like spirits, minions, turrets, spirit weapons, etc etc etc. How??
1-Eliminate skills 1….5 and give the obtion to run with banners on our back.
2-Give us passive and active utility skills like other classes have (protection, knockback, heals, immobilize,……).
Maybe with these changes we could run a banner build and be competitive in tPVP.

I have a problem. I want to acquire Settler’s armor and weapons. The problem is that I need to finish Karka Queen events in Southsun Cove, but we are a small Guild and we can finish all events. And the other problem is that Southsun Cove is desert and nobody want to make these events.
Any solution Anet??

I love your suggestions. I hope that Anet takes into consideration your ideas.
I run dual sword build, but while #1 and #2 are great,
Sword #3 is slow, and not apply conditions.
Sword #4 is bugged and only apply 1 stack of bleeding (description: 4 stacks of bleeding). Rip is useless skill.
Sword #5 it’s like Shield #5 with less seconds duration duration, and you need to be close to your foe to apply 4 stacks of bleeding.
Anet needs to improve Sword #3, #4 and #5 to obtain more viable dual swords builds.
I love run with banners in PVE, PVP and WvW. And I would like to give some suggestions to make banners builds funnier.
1-You can run with banner on the back.
2-Each banner gives boons or conditions:
Banner of Defense: Retaliation or Protection during 3 seconds every 15 seconds.
Banner of Discipline: Swiftness during 3 seconds every 15 seconds.
Banner of Strength: Condition damage during 3 seconds every 15 seconds.
Banner of Tactics: Grants 120 Regeneration every second.

Sword #4 IMPALE is bugged. This skill only apply 1 stack of bleeding over time when you throw your sword at your foe. Anet fix it, please.
With last patch changes. I understand that Berserker’s Power and Heightened Focus Traits have been moved to the Grandmaster tier. However with other changes, I’m not agree that improves the warrior’ viability, mainly in WvW and PvP.
WEAPONS:
This patch tries to force that more people use different weapons combination rather than the vast people run (hammer/axe shield, GS/axe shield, GS/axe mace, etc). As I can see, they want that we use more sword axe/ axe axe and LB or Rifle (Increased the projectile velocity by 33%). The problem is that some changes in these weapons are weak.
-Mainhand axe damage was nerfed.
-Mainhand sword: Final Thrust aftercast is slow and easy to evade.
-Offhand sword is still useless.
-Hammer aftercast is still slow.
-GS: Rush skill needs to be fixed correctly.
TRAITS:
Strength
I don’t find any Adept Trait interesting.
I propose to move Distracting Strikes Trait to Adept Tier.
Arms
No usefull changes.
Defense
Nice changes here but…. I love Cleansing Ire, but our condition removal problem isn’t solve. With this new Trait you remove a condition for every bar of adrenaline spent but you need to hit your foe, then if you use melee weapons and are blinded, cripped….. or your opponent is evading you can’t remove conditions.
I propose that using this trait you could remove condition even you don’t hit your foe.
Tactics
No revelant changes. Minor traits are still useless.
Discipline
I find Burst Recharge, Warrior’s Sprint and Sharpened Axes changes interesting but don’t give us any relevant advantage vs other classes.
HEALING AND UTILITY SKILLS
Healing skills: I find that heals need to be improved, mainly Healing Signet.
Utility skills: Nice cooldowns reductions but some Physical Skills are still useless.
-Stomp: nice change but I think that this skill need to be changed to a range skill (600) and you could jump to interrupt and evade attacks, similar to Earthshaker.
-Kick: it’s still useless, maybe it needs range improvent (600).
In conclusion, the last patch give us some changes, but in my opinion aren’t relevant. Warrior PVE damage was nerfed, and now warrior is weakest than before in PVP and WvW.
PD: I’m still waiting that we can run with banners in our back, using weapon skills.

Totally agree. My build is exactly the same. These changes didn’t give me nothing new.
The idea is simple, provide one option to run with banners using your weapon skills.
What do you think?

Personally I only use the adrenaline when I run with Hammer or Axe and maybe Sword only because you can immobilize your foes. When I run with other weapons, I do more damage with autoattack or other weapons skills than burst skill, then I don’t remember that I have adrenaline and I try to obtain damage profit with full adrenaline (traits V in Strenght and Discipline).
And you? How do you use adrenaline?
This is the max armor that actually I obtained with 1 of my builds, only need 1 cavalier more to increase it. And u can increase more using Banner of Defense. I didn’t try to obatin this amount of armor with other class, but I think that it’s only possible with warrior and in my opinion taking into account the Anet warrior definition, we have more survivability with great amount of armor, but the reality is totally different. As many of you mentioned there are skills that are more important to survive and where I find that warriors are in disadvantage with other classes that can reach “the efective armor” and they have also these skills (constantly Protection, best regens skills, blinds, aegis, stealth, best condition removal, more ways to evade and back to combat, etc etc etc)
Rune of Lyssa can be amazing with Signet of Rage for some tankier builds for warrior.
Signet of Rage is mainly a DPS skill, but this is the only elite skill that works. Rampage is the TANK skill, the problem is that doesn’t work and nobody uses it.
My WvW build when I run with hammer

Your entire premise is a fallacy. For every OHKO move in this game there are 5 other attacks you have to face that are not OHKO. Dodge the OHKO move and your toughness lets you take more of the other attacks. Simple stuff.
And in general, Warriors don’t require any sort of buff or fix in PvE or WvW. For every “useless” skill or trait Warriors have, every other class has more.
Warriors are kings of PvE and good in WvW. They’re terrible in sPvP, which is the only real problem with the class.
I gonna repeat, IN MY OPINION a great amount of armor isn’t relevant. No matter if you play PVE, WvW or sPvP. I never said that warrior class is bad, I remember that I said that I love play as warrior, is my main char with 1000 h played. And YES, warriors are the kings in PVE, sorry, BERZERKER warriors (100b, dodge, Whirlwind, dodge, Axe, dodge, 100b, ….) are the kings in PVE. and YES, warriors are good in WvW, we change to only good. And finally the warriors are the worst in sPvP.
Warrior definition by Anet:
“Warriors are masters of martial skills. They rely on speed, strength, toughness and heavy armor to survive. They’re versatile in combat and benefit from offensive and defensive abilities. Warriors inspire allies and demoralize enemies. As a soldier profession, warriors wear heavy armor”.
The definition says “toughness and heavy armor to survive”. No comment. This is my opinion different than yours, but be happy no angry because 1 person express his opinion.
Damage mitigation with respect to the armor value is not linear. Please refer to the wiki entry “damage”, specifically the formula.
It makes sense to invest in toughness when your armor value is low to medium. However, adding toughness when your armor value is already greater than 2700 makes very little difference in mitigating damage. Therefore, trait points are better spent elsewhere if your armor>2700.
Then my conclusion is correct, If there is 1 point where invest in toughness isn’t relevant, we need more ways to obtain survivability. The other classes have the same amount of armor with more survivability tools (protection, blind, aegis, great regen….) and not depending on dodge.
In my opinion I’m playing well, I never die in PVE and a few times in WvW. I’m only saying that warriors have disadvantages to survive compared with other classes.

I tested many different builds. In my opinion armor is irrelevant in PVE, you only need to know when dodge. And in WvW this is my build which I have a great damage and armor defense
But this great amount of armor only protects me maybe 1 hit, and doesn’t 5, 6 or 7 where can give me the time for next Heal or dodge. As you can see I use Superior Rune of Forge in my armor to gain Protection 13 s at 50% of Health. And when I use my Berz build, I obtain practically the same survivability than when I run with the above build. Then my conclusion is that great amount of armor or health aren’t enough to survive and the warrior needs more tools to reach the survivability of other classes. And I suggested 4 or 5 improvements that all warriors comunity are claiming.
I’m not starting to understand the PVE system now. The question is: why do I want a great amount of armor if I have the same survivability with Berz armor?. And I’m totally agree that warriors are amazing in PVE as DPS, you only need to know when dodge. The problems come in sPvP and WvW when dodge is not enough and you haven’t more tools to survive and armor is irrelevant.
And I don’t want to be a Tank, I’m arguing more ways to survive than dodge like the other classes, mainly in sPvP where warrior is dead and WvW.
My conclusion is that the armor defence is not relevant in this game. Actually I have more than 4000 armor defence with one of my warrior’s sets combined with 30 points in Defence. But, why do I want 4000 armor defense if 1 boss can kill me with 1 hit? why do I want 4000 armor defence if 1 thief, D/D ele, engineer, ranger, etc can kill me easy and doesn’t matter if I have 0 or 4000 armor defence?. The answer is for nothing. The only way to continue alive is evading and dodging at the correct moment.
In other MMOs if u have a big defence numbers, this give you a little bit of survivability. In this game the only trick to have more survivability is evading and dodging. And it is not relevant if u are heavy armor warrior with great defence numbers. Are we crazy?? Really?? XDD
Then, which is the problem with warriors compared with other classes? I have 5 characters more at lvl 80 full equip, and with less than half warrior armor defence, I have more survivability. Why?? because the other classes have more combat mobility, don’t need to be close to hit, cripple, immobilize or chill the target, have more ways to condition removal, constant regeneration skills, and more ways to out and back to the combat.
In my opinion these are the main warrior problems:
- Traits XI and XII in Strength, Arms and Discipline have not real benefits. Nobody uses 30 point to get any XI and XII in these 3 traits.
- Bad regeneration skills.
- The only viable elite skill is Signet of Rage.
- Nobody uses adrenaline. And there are only 3 arms in my opinion that have a great burst skill (Axe, Sword and Hammer), the other ones are slow or irrelevant (for example GS burst skill).
- Banners only work well in PVE.
- Nobody uses Kick and Stomp.
- Some utility skills are duplicated, you can obtain the same benefit that Signets with Shouts and Stances, which are more viable than Signets.
- Nobody uses Berseker Stance and “On my Mark!”.
- And we take 50% more damage with Frenzy compared with other classes with same skill.
How to improve and solve some of these warrior problems?:
- Change Stomp to 900 range skill. Then we improve our combat mobility combined with Bull’s Charge. And we have one reason to use trait XI in Strength.
- Provide one trait where you obtain regeneration per quantity and adrenaline strike gained. Then we have reasons to use trait XII in Strength, XI in Arms, use Berseker Stance, etc.
- Provide one trait that permits removal conditions using adrenaline. For example, 1 removal condition per bar adrenaline used, then we can removal max 3 conditions using this skill with full bar adrenaline. Then we have reasons to use traits XI and XII in Discipline.
- Provide one trait that gives Protection (3-5 s).
- Provide one trait which we don’t lose passive effects using Signets.
In my opinion these are the most important improvements that warrior needs, because the only way that warrior has to survivability are dodging and a great armor defence doesn’t matter in this game.
Of course I think that Anet need to eliminate 50% damage taken using Frenzy to compare this skill with other classes, or that Anet permits use utility skills with Rampage, but this is other story.
I love play with my warrior and I hope that Anet take into consideration the improvements that all warriors community are posting.
HB while moving with new animations. Stomp with stun or knockdown and 800range.(like heroic leap in wow)This will help to gap-close, do damage and will increase fun of warrior gameplay through much more dynamics.

Totally agree with you. Stomp need to be a ranged attack. Only this change open a new world of possibilities, new builds, new combos and the most important thing, improves the warrior combat mobility.

I use the same build (10, 0, 30, 10, 20) and the same Major Traits. However, I prefer in some cases use Mace/Shield and Physical Utilities (Throw Bolas, Bull’s Chargue and Stomp). I make an amazing combo with Hammer, Shield, Mace and Physical Utilities, stunning and knocking the opponents.
I start with Throw Bolas, Bull’s Chargue, Hammer (5-2-Earthshaker), Stomp, Hammer (3), change weapon, Shield (4), Mace (3-Skull Crack), change Hammer and finish him. With this combo the enemy can’t move, even Mesmers and Thiefs have many problems and they can’t escape.
What do you think about Mace/Shield and Physical Utilities combination with Hammer?
I’m totally agree with you. It’s obviously that warriors are disadvantaged compared with rest of classes in PvP and WvW, and there are many complains suggesting fix in some weapon habilities and traits. I gonna express 2 examples.
If you choose Dps build and equipment, you can have a great damage but other players kill you instantly, but if you are Dps Thief or Mesmer, you have an amazing damage and can easily escape of combat if it’s necesary, the same with other classes like Elementarist or Guardian for example. Otherwise, if you choose Tank build and equipment, your damage is ridiculous, and you can never win a duel like Tank Guardian or Elementarist versions. YESS!! Even Elementarist with light armor is better tank than warrior with heavy armor, this is stupid.
I could enumerate more and more warriors disadvantages in PvP and WvW. I love warrior class and I hope that Anet will take into consideration all these complains about warrior class problems.
