I advise you not to disable UAC. It’s a security feature.
I guess GW2 isn’t built for Windows 7. The game needs access to write to its own program folder and if the game is installed under C:\Program Files, which is a protected folder, these popups will appear. Instead, try to install it elsewhere. Create a folder called Games, or something, under root of C and install your games in that folder, ie. C:\Games\Guild Wars 2.
Some games, mostly older ones, might still need higher privilege to access other areas to play but GW2 works fine if installed outside Program Files.
I’m getting this every two hours or so. Pretty annoying when mid through a boss/event and after relog it’s to late.
I’ve been logging my connection as well as playing streamed music to see if my connection is at fault, none says there were any problem when gw2 crashed.
Edit: last 2 hours, once every 30 minutes.
Edit2: Fk, it’s getting worse. Now I can’t even play a game of Queen’s Gauntlet without crashing. I want my tickets back (and then the game fixed).

Good idea. Have had the same problem
TLDR post
TP ideas, add likes/dislikes on each:
- Navigational buttons: Back, Forward and Home.
- Skip filter reset at navigation.
- Add list navigation (to the standard First, Prev, Next and Last): Prev 10 and Next 10, Prev 100 and Next 100 and so on.
- Search filter in My Transaction.
- Add links to My Transaction on TP Buy-page or list your current bids.
- Move reset button and indicate filter is active in TP.
- Better filters in TP. Heavy/medium/light armors. Stats and price range.
- Use the cash from the Pick Up-tab for TP use.

TLDR post below, click here
I would like to see some changes to the Black Lion Trading Company interface to make it more user friendly. I’ve been using it for a while and find some of it quite annoying, time consuming and very inefficient. Here are my ideas on how to make the TP more pleasurable and fun. Please add like/dislike on each idea and your own comments.
- First off, the TP need some navigational buttons other than the tabs to the left, i.e. Back, Forward and Home. It’s somewhat annoying when you’re looking at My Transactions-tab, clicking an item to see the bids and then can’t go back to My Transactions without clicking another tab first, and that’ll reset the view. Users who want to increase the bid on an item they already bid on might find this an issue.
- Why reset the view when user is navigating the tabs? I.e. when browsing the TP, I sometimes check on other tabs (like Pick Up or My Transactions) for a quick update. Navigating back to the TP resets all filters and shows the Top X Items-view. With the poor navigational options in TP it can take time to find back where I were. If we add a Home button there would be no need to reset the view when navigating the tabs, right?
- Having First, Prev, Next and Last as the only listing navigation is fine, unless you have 50 or more items to browse through. Using filters to narrow down the search may filter out the ones you want, thus not an option. By adding Prev 10 and Next 10, Prev 100 and Next 100 and so on when needed will speed up browsing. With the slow TP, I would call a better list navigation a gift from the six gods. Also needed in My Transactions-tab as there are no filters there. I may only have 4k items in my Sold transactions, guessing there are quite a few with 10 times that and a lot more. Searching for a transaction 2 weeks ago takes forever.
- Just as good to add the idea for a search filter in My Transaction. Maybe someone would like to see the history sells of one item.
- If I’m buying/bidding something on the TP, I would like to see if I currently have bids on the very same item. When selling on the TP you see the “Add to my lowest listing” option, maybe something similar could be added to the buy page. Or use the current list of orders to highlight the ones that are “mine”, in parentheses how many items. Or a quick link to My Transactions, filtering items (see 4) to the ones I’m interested in, so I can remove my previous bids and more. Also a quick link to Sold and Bought to quickly check my previous transactions on the current item would be a bonus.
- A change I would like in the TP filter interface is to see/use the Reset (filter) button without having to Show Filters, also let the reset button be greyed out if no filters are selected so you can quickly see if there are filters affecting the result. Alternatively add an indicator that there are filters
active.
These must be old ideas but I add them anyway. - Better filters in TP. At least give us the ability to filter between heavy/medium/light armors. Ultimately, add filters for stats and maybe a price range.
- I would like to have the ability to use the cash in the Pick Up-tab for TP use. Why? Cuz I’m lazy and greedy, just as everyone else.

A friend of mine just got kicked when traveling to Lions Arch from Overflow and now he’s got the same problem
AoE worked for me, standing above ground and finding where they are. Second time here, did the same both times
I didn’t get any for the Lions Arch JPs but got for three other JPs in Kryta that I tested (one discovered and two not discovered earlier), right at the entrance of the JPs so you don’t have to complete them either.
I got the overflow msg just when I started a wintersday JP. Real fun when I lost most control (but not all) as I jumped the first snowflake
Really annoying when it pop up like a modal dialog. Can’t it just be a little note in the corner by the mini-map, blinking red to call for attention? Also, why does it have to take away most of the control of character movement? Feels like these dialogs have been put in after the game designers called the day. And make those dialogs bound to keys so we can easily discard them (like Enter for Ok and Yes, Esc for Cancel and No).
I find my pet useful though somewhat dumb (like when I jump down a two meter drop just to see my pet pull 3-4 mobs by taking an alternative route). But at times I would like to lock my pet away until I tell it to reappear.
The thing I find odd is that when you put your pet in Avoid Combat and then stow it, there is no reason for the pet to activate unless you press F1 or change pet mode. Thus my suggestion is to keep the icons for Attack My Target and Guard/Avoid Combat visible even when pet is stowed, keep the pet stowed if pet is set to avoid combat and only activate pet on your order. When the pet is set to guard and is stowed away it’ll function as it does now with the added Attack command available as a bonus.
Check your other characters mailboxes again. My mail was on the first character I logged in with so I had to look for it.
Two times in three days and neither were close to server reset (I do my runs after 10 am) and I didn’t run fast (~15% HP left). Never had any problems before christmas, and I ran every day, so why this now?
I’ve read many posts around the web about the faulty targeting system and most have problem with the auto-targeting feature. My biggest problems are with my ranged classes, the random targeting of out-of-screen yellow veterans when fighting a champion and its minions or retargeting of some far off red mob not in fight when I have gathered a bunch of enemies for my fireballs or lined up for my piercing ranger. There are some irritating behaviors with the targeting system that need some clean up but sadly, it seems, the developers neglected.
Here’s what I would like the targeting system should do.
In order. Those in parenthesis might be unnecessary advanced options meant for manually targeting.
If no target selected and using a skill which need an enemy target:
• (If you’re downed, select least HP target within range that if killed might bring you up.)
• (If ally downed, select least HP target within range that if killed might bring ally up.)
• (If skill can hit several, like AoE or piercing, select the target in range that will hit the most targets that are attacking you or ally.)
• Select least HP target within range that are attacking you.
• Select least HP target within range that are attacking an ally.
• Select closest target within range on screen that are attacking you.
• Select closest target within range on screen that are attacking an ally.
• Select closest target within range not on screen that are attacking you.
• Select closest target within range not on screen that are attacking an ally.
• Select red target within range on screen.
• Select yellow target within range on screen but don’t use skill.
• Select white target within range on screen but don’t use skill.
If target selected and using a skill which need a target (maybe deselecting targets should be the users responsibility):
• (Selected target is out of range and skill has “low” CD+AT, use skill, deselect after “X number” of misses and nothing else was hit or affected.)
• (Selected target is out of range and skill has “high” CD+AT, deselect and retarget as if no target was selected.)
• Selected target is out of range, use skill and deselect if nothing was hit or affected.
If no target selected and using an manually ground attacking skill:
• Select the enemy target hit or affected closest to the skill epicenter
If no target selected and using a skill that does not need target (like self AoE):
• Select closest enemy target affected by skill.
The do nots:
• Don’t retarget when skill misses, is blocked, is obstructed or has no effect (unless out-of-range maybe).
• Don’t target non-fighting mobs if there are mobs in range attacking you or an ally.
• Don’t target mobs out-of-range if there are mobs in range.
• Don’t target yellow mobs if there red mobs in range.
• Don’t target white mobs if there yellow or red mobs in range.
• Don’t attack a random mob if not explicitly told so (remove queued skill attacks if no target selected and let us choose if right click should target and attack).
• Don’t attack a random mob when elementalist attune to air.
