Ambient creature minipets. You can sell them in packs. Willard wants a pet rat.
Is there a utility that increases precision now?
I don’t know why anyone has a bad thing to say. I experienced lag. I didnt like it at first because I couldn’t just Bow Bear my way through it. But then I remembered I wanted something a little more challenging.
I’ve played since Factions. Anet made some deep cuts and I appreciate that. The story was very satisfying. It tied up plot points that were hanging for 10 years. But it gave me new questions, in a good way. Orr looks less dreary, but still keeps its character. The map is more difficult in parts if you are alone. I like that. Now off to the Crystal Desert! I’m ready!
I love it! Thank you for an awesome outfit! Excuse me while I jump maps and dance in it!
Update: I’m in, FL. Thank you to everyone who worked to fix it!
For over 10 years Guild Wars has been the most stable MMO I have ever played. I’m sure they are working on it and it will be fixed soon. Thank you tech support! For keeping the game online so much, that when its gone just for a little bit, we panic.
Me too. I’m in FL and my power went out for a couple hours. But everything else works fine now, except GW.
250 HP For Elites [Feedback][Merged]

On behalf of most altoholics, thank you.
I dreaded to farm HP for most of 9 elite specializations. 250 seems doable. Hardcore content is in the raids and fractals. I dont see how making Elite Specs easier to attain curtails or takes away from the endgame experience.
1. Players will underestimate the Ranger.
2. The Druid wont be that bad.
3. They will blame the pet mechanic.
4. In actual practice, the Ranger will work as good as any profession.
At the very least they could give us a bunch of champ bags. I like the encounters. But, if your not after blooms its a waste of time.
TLDR thread
If the F2P version has the restrictions data mined, we will be fine. No harm.
If we do get raids. I wont be concerned about lack of content from the expansion. Dungeons are good, but the 5 man party size turned me off. 8-16 or more players allows casual players to participate in challenging content with much less pressure than 5 players. Who knows, they might even like it so much they get into more challenging content.
The warrior has many traits related to adrenaline. Will they all be limited to 10/one bar of adrenaline while in berserker? Or will they get individual attention for balance?

I like it.
I love speed buffs. Especially when I dont have to trait or skill for it. Would 33% speed boost for PvE open world, and out of combat, be too much to ask?
Auto loot, it really sounds like a QoL improvement that should be added as baseline for everyone. But, this mastery doesn’t sound as difficult as others. You get it by playing new content. Something most of us are going to do anyway. So I cant see a reason it would be an issue.
Crafting- Not my thing past 80
New merchants? I have my good eye on that one.
Revive Speed. Yes! I actually like the downed state mechanic. I cant tell you how many times I’ve seen or been a player rezzing another player and almost get there, and boom, the rezzer gets blindsided/stuck and death. Maybe this will give us that extra second or two for a dramatic rescue. Combined with the DP reduction, you can turn the tide of battle quickly if your a mentor. It also encourages reviving. No, dont WP back. Rez here where we can keep our buffs and numbers. Instead of everyone getting slaughtered running back one by one. There are situations where WP back will be the correct choice. But when its not, this mastery will help.
Other than that, it looks like a great mastery to expand in the future. I cant think if anything specific. Maybe some small incremental bonuses to magic find or stats while you have a party.
I use two Eles, one is a celestaff the other one is FA/Might stacking. Unlike the other Elite specializations, I don’t have a use for it. Which is ok, I play every profession. Believe me, Ele was already in a good spot. But now with more utility!
The overload mechanic needs a dramatic decrease in cast time and stronger damage for it to be worth it.
The only place I can think of a Staff Ele using Tempest would be WvW. And only if your in a Zerg vs Zerg scenario. Its not worth losing the damage modifiers for my builds.
You never mentioned PvE or PvP build. Below are the highest DPS builds using a scepter. I say power will be your best bet.
For PvE: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Elementalist_-_S/F_LH
For PvP: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Elementalist_-_S/F_Fresh_Air
Scepter is used mainly to blast fire fields for Fury and Might. Or Fresh Air builds. Both take a lot of practice and skill to master. The lightning hammer is easier to use and I would recommend it for beginners.
I use a PvE Fresh Air build because I’m weird. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJArYnMICNNgVPAmNAsSgBBAjeCbhMZEAKAHA5SeBqhA
Its a lot like the S/D LH build. But instead of LH during that rotation I start bursting with lightning strikes until Fire is off cool down and then repeat. All zerkers, all the time.
Dragon Tooth and Fire Grab are your two biggest DPS skills. Sadly, Arc Lightning is your strongest AA. So you should stay in Fire and Air most of the time if you want anything to die. Use Water for heals or using a conjure. Search the youtubes, they have very good guides on using these builds. Good Luck and Happy Hunting!
I switched to a Fresh Air build(PvE) recently. I’ve been having so much fun, I cant believe I didn’t switch sooner. Burst, burst, and more burst.
But I have concerns. Is Scepter being pigeon holed in FA? Might stacking isn’t as important as it once was(see phalanx). Will Warhorn be of any value to Scepter? And will it even be worth speccing into Tempest for the overload? You’ll lose some good damage modifiers if we do. As far as the Scepter itself, i would only improve the AA of Fire and Air. The rest are good skills and rewarding when properly played.
Flame Strike: Too slow. Break it into three quick projectiles. More procs and places it in line with the other Scepter AAs.
Arc Lightning: Remove pierces targets in a line. Make it arc to two nearby foes. Reduce full cast time to 3 seconds instead of 4. We could use more reliable cleave on our “damage” AA. Reduced cast time would also help it from carrying it over when you swap, so you might actually have to use a skill in another attunement to get back to Air.
If attunement camping and PBAoE are the focus of the tempest, like some have suggested. Scepter is in bad shape. I just hope this is only one trait and not the new mechanic.
Scepter’s niche was always been fast attunement swapping. Either for FA or blasting fire fields. Not because FA or blasting fields is OP, but because the AA hits like a wet noodle. My guess would be not to hold your breath. The best we could hope for would be a different synergy with Scepter than with Dagger. Otherwise D/WH will be the only choice.
Thank you all for the input.
Maybe its confirmation bias, but I feel even more comfortable with my weapon choices. It’s not as bad as I suspected. I lose a good deal of burst every 20 seconds or so. A scepter rotation when entering combat, large hit boxes, and/or multiple foes out of cleave range, will help make up for that. Sword/Torch does good damage, its not best and I’m ok with that. I get range, mobility, and playstyle preference that justify the means. If anyone has any tips or suggestions, ill keep an eye on this thread.
Edit: +10% Damage modifier. They seem to have given it to symbols and they wont give it back. 10% is also about how much DPS I lose for using sword. Why Anet, why?!?
(edited by Medicarejunkie.6032)
Trickster can give thieves a ridiculous amount of quickness. That is a ton of damage to just give baseline. I say add bountiful theft to the kleptomaniac minor, so you still have to invest into trickery to get it.
I love Sword. I understand its a DPS loss vs Mace/GS. If someone asks in a dungeon, I don’t mind switching to the meta, and I understand how the build works. However, when I’m doing Silverwastes, dailies, etc I want my Sword back. And since I’m stubborn about my weapon of choice. How can I make it the best DPS Sword build possible? And how much DPS do I lose by being stubborn?
I use Sword/Torch and Scepter/Focus. My traits generally look like this(http://dulfy.net/gw2traits#build=AgIBmAKkBdQ~). Zerker.
I wouldn’t use it, but it would be a nice quality of life update to get the functionality back as an option.
Personally, I like the Guild Back Pack. I figure my engi puts all his gear, gadgets, and different types of ammo in there. I like realistic fantasy. I’m sure that’s a thing. Magically disappearing/reappearing rucksacks with large containers of fluid and barrels breaks the immersion of a technology based character. But, like i said, i’m all for the option. Just dont expect it soon. I’m sure Anet is busy right now.
Is it just me, or is part of the nerf the fact that we are forced into the pet swap mechanic? When and where to swap pets for quickness is trickier to master than it first appears. You have to be more aware of your skills and your pet’s skills on cooldown, positioning of you, your pet, and your enemy or you could waste it. It also forces different pet combinations than pre patch. Pre patch I had my jaguar and a utility pet. The jaguar was out 95% of the time. But, now that its out almost 50/50, its a huge dps loss to put anything other than a cat as my second pet.
I also feel that we gained utility with this patch. Not enough mind you. And with a change in the mechanics as posted above, its hard to enjoy it. Frost spirit has never been more powerful or easier to use, even untraited. Clarion Bond gives us 100% party uptime of Call of the Wild if you use a Warhorn offhand. Spotter + Fury is a 27% increase in crit chance for your entire party. With the endurance nerf, swiftness is even more important. Quick Draw has its uses, double Rapid Fire anyone? Resounding Timber can also be taken now with minimal DPS loss, more DPS if you include the ability to use strength of the pack more often. You can knock regen if you want, but it helps keep over 90% health for scholars and Loud Whistle, and can add damage for those who get +damage modifiers for boons, and adds almost 20% extra heal and reduced CD on We Heal as One.
… Imo pets should teleport to target x.x
I agree. Or maybe a baseline leap added to all melee pets. Your pet’s buffs should also apply throughout the swap. Meaning if you have SotW or “SotP!” it applies to your swapped pet and any buffs are passed on. We should be rewarded for pet swapping, not punished. Half the time 3 seconds of quickness and a few might are not worth swapping pets. If nothing happens, they should add an extra second of quickness. Have you seen the amount of quickness a thief can get traited? 4 seconds wouldnt break anything and would put it in line with Heightened Focus.
Why can’t I use two Jaguars? The same pet on swap. Make it happen. And/Or make pet stats and skins interchangeable. Want a pet pig that has cat stats and skills? In PvP I could see a concern about countering an unknown pet, if it is make it PvE only.
Edit: Companions might should be added as a minor trait in beastmastery.

Fortune Teller: Cause Confusion by placing an old lady in your foes head.
Abaddon’s Leash: The next three times you are defeated, you rally and receive Torment. Cool down ends when an expansion is released.
Vizu’s Revenge: All your stats and speeds double for a short time. If you are hit from behind you are downed.
Jade Flatulence: Break jade wind, causing Poison and Torment nearby you. If you are burning, you explode.
Because the Engi’s Rifle was designed for mid range skirmishes. But I’m not opposed to rifled barrels as baseline.
Perhaps I should have made my post more clear. At a minimum, increase the AA to 1200. I’m within 240 distance for the majority of my powerful skills anyway. Personally, i dont have trouble landing the 2-4 skills without the trait. But, i could see how it would be frustrating if you know you just missed a shot that you would have made a month ago. Increased AA would, at least, give more piercing potential and helps tag fleeing foes as you reposition.
I have been using Sw/Sw+Staff in PvE, mostly Silverwastes. So far, its my favorite weapon combo for aesthetics, practicality, and mobility for when i pug. I use staff because I like chaos storm. Its pretty and can daze interrupt, giving me quickness. Phantasmal Warlock may not be as strong as duelist, but it hits hard. And i figure it doesnt matter what ranged you use as long as you dont sit on it.
Tweaking the Zeal line with better options for non symbol builds would probably work better. And cause less work for the devs.
Or maybe we are just suppose to take the Dragonhunter line, when its ready.
I vote for increasing only the AA to 1200.
My sword hates this thread
Sword could use a symbol. It’s not ok to lose a perfectly good weapon because traits were changed. I find it hard to believe that the goal was to replace Sword with Mace as the DPS weapon of choice. Thief sword also lost DPS to the power creep. Maybe Anet if nerfing swords?
If adding a symbol doesnt work for Anet, at least give us some better synergy in the Zeal trait line.
I think they should make Arc Lightning cleave instead of hit foes in a line. And the channel time should be decreased.
If you’re taking scepter, its probably to blast fire fields. If you dont have LH conjure, your most powerful AA is weaksauce. You’re stuck in that long channel after carefully placing your fields. This makes it difficult to switch targets, and places you in awkward positions just to try to hit more than one thing or get the last hit in.
tldr, make it as difficult for warriors to stack might as it is for eles, and see if it gets fixed.
Hmm, so for the most part I’m not losing much DPS by taking AARocket? Sweet. Never been happier to be wrong. Plus it hits for decent AoE. Although, I was gonna keep it anyway because it looks cool. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for it to work with explosives traits.
I have two Eles. I play one celestial staff and the other does might stacking. Life is good.
Sword/Sword and Staff. Front load staff skills at the beginning of combat and Swords ftw.
I just hope they dont nerf it too much. >40s recharge and/or <4s quickness would ruin it.
Besides, for a profession that was suppose to be support play style oriented, it severely lacked offensive support. And now it does. Working as intended.
Thematically, AA Rocket is awesome. The only thing standing in its way is the trait Shaped Charge, which is basically a free 5% damage modifier. The damage numbers from the AA rocket look good, but I doubt it increases your overall damage an extra 5%.
As it stands. Reaper, Spite, Soul Reaping is the way to go.
Dagger synergies better with life steal due to the fast attack rates and blood spec traits. GS/Reaper synergies better with Spite and SR. Blood gets dropped for Reaper.
FYI, I’m using Blood in lieu of reaper and having a (life) blast. So many tiny numbers!
Arc Lightning needs to hit harder. Right now, it does all the damage of a wet noodle. I don’t care if its a trait that does it, base damage, or a mechanics change. More damage the closer you are? Anything. Please make it happen.
I also enjoy the run and gun style of rifle. No kit swapping and minimal laying of green awkward AoE circles. I use SD, Aim Assisted Rocket, and Takedown Round to compliment a rotation of rifle AA, Blunderbuss, Jump Shot, Thwack, and Orbital Strike. Its for fun, not DPS.

I would love to see a melee staff thief. Designed around the GW1 assassin caster (assacaster?) build. It had elements of both melee and caster. Really good for cc and spike damage.
The Reaper gives me some nostalgia of the Dervish from GW1. Even infusing armor has a flash enchantment like effect. As long as it turns out to be a viable melee for necro, I’m happy.
If health stolen by Vampiric Aura is good enough, it could be a nice DPS boost for a party of 5. I also want Rise! to be worth taking, even in non MM builds.
Dagger+Warhorn might give you faster LF gain. If its quicker than GS.
But, I never like to be without a ranged weapon set. So, Reaper-GS-Staff will be my weapon set of choice.
Definitely a bone minion. Putrid Explosion on death.
“Feel My Wrath” is intriguing. If it affects allies, I want it yesterday.
What I did not like about tomes is that you lose all of your skills. I would prefer to keep some form of weapon. But I like the powerful utility provided on a long cooldown.
Silly pipe dream, but what if tomes were part of the next specialization, Paragon. Each tome gives you access to Anthems and Chants. These would basically be chained shouts. Chants would work like Mantras, two or more identical shouts layered on top of each other. Anthems would have two or more different shouts. This works thematically, like reading directly off of a tome. Some could even be quotes of legendary heroes.
Thats what I thought LS was suppose to do. Slowly change the landscape to reflect that time keeps moving forward. They should create separate instances for PS so they can do whatever they want to the open world. I just hope they start making content again.
Get back to GW1 lore. Tag team mashups are cute. But the old lore felt epic and meaningful.
The way you changed Kessex Hills, do that with Orr but in a restorative way. Clean up the undead in other areas while your not in personal story mode.
War- Please allow Quick Breathing(warhorn) and Empower Allies to both be used with 20 points in tactics, otherwise your killing my personal build :P
Ranger- I like the anti stealth and hope more finds its way in WvW. Do you have to target them before they stealth? You cant target someone when they are in stealth, so some more explanation or iteration may be needed. Rangers could also use more access to stealth, preferably from utility skills like signet of the hunt and lightning reflexes or muddy terrain.
GS could use an AA damage boost. Or provide more synergy with your pet. Sword, I think we all know what needs to be fixed there. Warhorn, as our only support weapon, it should do more support. Add blind to Hunter’s call and boost the might on Call of the Wild and increase swiftness duration.
Thief- Venoms need more help than that. Make blinding powder or another utility also reveal stealthed foes. Or create traits that do the same thing. Whos better to catch a thief than another thief?
Ele- Good start on the staff, I would also suggest increasing radius and duration of windborne speed. Reduce lightning surge’s cast time, alot. Make flame burst a blast finisher, or add blast finisher to beginning of meteor shower, or also at the end of cast. And either reduce cast time or increase damage of meteor shower, its cool looking but doesn’t always do much.
Mesmer- The staff could use some more supportive buffs, in the current meta, the GS is better at support than the staff. I would like a really good reason to take it over GS as my ranged weapon offset.
I also purchased items from the gem store and did not receive them. I submitted a ticket and no response for several days.
EDIT: Resolved. Too much mail. I deleted the mail and received the items. It would be nice if we could get a message that our mail box is full. Thank You.
EDIT2: I did receive a response in a timely manner, I just looked for it in my email not my support account.
