Easy peasy, but i fear i may only get the first choice
1, UW and FoW content
2, I want to be able to guest on US servers so i can play with my podcast buddys
3, An iphone/android app so i can guild chat when commuting etc

Sadly, an opportunity missed.

With the end cinematic showing by all accounts what most of us think is a waking dragon i cannot help but think there was a better idea. Having found the ley lines under Lion’s Arch and used all that energy for her evil purposes, surely the better route for the story would have been this.
The drill was opening up a portal to that fabled arena of evil, The Underworld. Scarlett heard a voice of madness in her head, it could so easily have been Dhumm.
We have enough dragons in the world, i want to see Terrorweb Dryders, Banished Dream Riders and Mindblade Spectres.

So far all 3 of my precusors have been gained from the forge, The Hunter, Rage and at the moment the only one i turned into a legendary, Leaf of Kudzu. Removing this option is a crazy idea ;-)

My most memorable moments from gw1 are of late night/early morning complete UW runs with both friends and pugs. It is to my mind the finest and most challenging group of events i have ever played and Hard Mode made it beyond epic. I am rapidly approaching 35 of gaming and this area has held top spot for “places to go in games” for close on 10 of those years. With the greatest of respect for gw2, nothing in it comes close yet. If anet are ever short of cash and need bankrolling, all they have to do is put UW scrolls in the gem store and i will single-handedly keep them afloat.

Try using the open world tab in the lfg window, i’m betting that if you used that to state your predicament it wouldn’t be long before you captured that skill point.

Alas, the need to play together with other players for a common goal (such as taking down a champion mob) is a bad sideeffect of playing an MMO.

it’s an mmo, it can’t possibly be a side effect to have to play together, and even if it were, it would be a good one.

It is not the event, it is the placement.

let’s look at where it is.
An out of the way area of Lornar’s Pass which players with a level native to the area have no reason to visit except for the exploration poi. And they can get this in the 1 1/2 hours when the event is not on.
This event is perfectly placed in the open world so as not to interfere with native level characters

I said it when Tequatl was redone, I say it again, this is bad game design. It is the worst open world game design I have seen in 15 years of MMO gaming.

I couldn’t disagree with you more, this content is amazing, it requires strategy and intelligent thinking from the community. Clearly a huge number of players are also drinking it up and loving it.
For the most part map chat is friendly with very little omgwtf usuck infantile comments from players.
The commanders are doing a fine job. The rewards even for failure seem reasonable (which i will give, is a 1st in this game) And i might add even the overflows i have had the pleasure of playing in are getting close to sorting this fight out.

I used to find this spam somewhat annoying, but having read how people deal with it through reporting, i now treat it like a mini game. You spam me, i report you, anet kills the account.

i’m not sure these accounts are hacked at all, i have had 4 whispers in the last 1/2 hour and when choose to report, the window i am presented with contains the account name not the character name (and i don’t believe one is able to change that, as one can change a character name). Without fail all these account names are a random group of letters such as hgdgfgr and i do not believe for a second that most players pick account names like that. We pick account names based on real world language that have personal meaning to us.

Mesmer portal: a Liscence to Steal

There is no justification for portal QQing when you consider that there was an entire gameplay experience (and economy) in GW1 in which players were helping others to avoid or rush through content or avoid combat, Lornars Pass runs, Imperial Sanctum and Jennur’s Horde missions spring to mind, but there were a host of others.
The huge difference between GW1 and GW2 is that as far as i can tell the players who are using portals to help others very rarely take gold for their time and efforts and i for one salute them.

A wee "thank you" message.

I’m in the same situation as you were, running on a GeForce 9400GT and a poor 2.6GHz processor, GW1 still runs superbly on max, CE of GW2 is on minimum settings just to get the frame rate high enough for a smooth feel (big sad face). My guildies are running on ssd’s and great cards :-(
I blame my atrocious ability to do jumping puzzles on my pc rather than my skill level.
I’m glad that Doghouse Systems now deliver to the UK, one day my friends, one day.

It’s as simple as that, I love it, Southsun has always been a favourite place for me to go, i like the setting, i like the foes, the events were a bit poor i will admit and i realise that i may have been out of tune with the rest of the community, or at least my server, since it seemed not many people were ever there.
What a change some proper events and a bit of story do, now there’s an overflow for Southsun and it feels like i’m in an mmo again!
Great work anet!

@Korrigan, they may well join your guild to participate in these events because they feel their small guild is unable to raise the required revenue. If they communicate this to your leadership will you really kick them if they don’t represent you 24/7? Maybe a little understanding on your part would then see them represent you for some of the week in order to participate in the accumulation of your influence. Dear Lord, it’s hard enough that this content is gated for them by Anet, don’t Guild Gate it as well!

Our small guild of 8 operating on Gandara had an excercise last night when only 4 players were online to see how much influence we could earn in an evening. We split into 2 groups of 2 to maximise the earned influence from events and set to work on two different areas of Plains of Ashford. Within 2 1/2 hours we had clocked up just over 1000 influence for the guild. (and the coin we earned can buy even more)Now i’d not like to play like this every night. And every time a guildie logged on i’d not want to insist that they played like this to earn us influence. But comeon folks, stop whining about “i can’t get this content”, with a little bit of effort and guild management it’s entirely possible.
And oh yes, as posters are now pointing out Multiguild!

Fireheart Rise exploit?

Menzzo Berranzan.8379

In the lake near The Baelfire it’s possible to access an underwater area that allows you to swim under the whole of Fireheart Rise. It is then possible to attack the Giant Undersea Wurm event from beneath the wurm and as far as i can tell the wurm doesn’t appear to be able to hit back very effectively. This allows easy completion/farming of the event and looting. Also the Broodmother event can be done from this position.
