You could put the orbs back but give them the Outmanned Buff instead. Makes more sense.
A free market would lead us to more speculation and even more attention from hackers and gold sellers. Right now it doesn’t seem attractive to buy gems or gold via the currency exchange because we’re in a troubled part of the game life. Some people got rich really fast while most of us barely have 10 golds. With some time the economy will stabilize (I guess) and the gem demand should lower too (Halloween has a big part to play in the gem’s exchange rate).
As for a free market, most people playing GW2 are casual. Why am I so confident about it? No subscription fee. So what that people are casual? Well I’m pretty sure someone who only has max 1 hour per day to play the game doesn’t have time to check out the TP and try to make sense on how to buy gems and gold. Free market = gimmicks. The currency exchange controlled by ANet = fair.
What are you trying to prove Kam? That we’re losers and you’re great? Good job, you are now a king.

Still wondering why people like you post on this thread other than to make it get locked down.
It’s just a themed event. If you don’t succeed it’s not a tragedy.
I know, the Halloween event is a pretty funny excuse. Like yours is THE ONLY server where it’s going on, right? That’s why you’re affected and nobody else, right?
I was just making a joke. No need to be so rude
People cry because jumping puzzles are too easy. People then whine it’s too hard.
Don’t hate on us. We’re trying the Mad King’s Clock Tower challenge instead of doing WvW.
Oh great, just when I deleted all of my tonics because they were useless.
Great post OP but the people that don’t read chat and follow useless zergs will surely not get on the forum to read this.
With what happened yesterday, I don’t even feel like logging in WvW. I know that NSP isn’t filled with hackers but to lose an orb because of a hack is just a stab in the kidney. Itkitten off pretty much everyone in Anvil Rock. To get crushed because of morning cappers and then losing even more because of a hack… it’s pretty much beating a corpse.
But I insist on the fact that we had a great fight with you all from NSP during the day yesterday. It’s just sad that our effort were destroyed because of a hack.
Yes, we all saw it. The Orb was taken in a fortified keep with a waypoint, and we could teleport on it. No wall was breached, nothing. It took about 5 seconds for the carrier to reach their garrison.
If anyone in Northern Shiverpeaks saw the hacker, please report him. It’s really aggravating for the morale and we don’t even feel like playing WvW anymore if people hack like this.
Jayman, I love you. You merit at least 2 Internets.
6 pages of whine and hate. Wow. I think you guys like fighting over the game more than the actual game.
2. Make WvW “teams” instead of “servers.” ArenaNet should use their data to compile the maximum size of a WvW Team (say 5,000 players?), and allow the players to choose the team they want to be on. Maybe even give guilds a priority so they can organize on the same team.
Oh god, no.
Just change server. I’m on Anvil Rock and never have queues longer than 5 minutes. If you are complaining about queue times, you should actually complain about free server transfers to high pop servers beforehand.

I’m trying really hard to have some compassion but, nope. Nothing.
I like the idea!
Most likely because we have lvl 5 Art of War and whatnot
Yes, I’m in the Anvil Rock vs Darkhaven vs Yak’s Bend battle and Yak’s Bend is the unofficial gathering point of Oceanic people. What happens is during the evening we really rock the battleground but when we log off at like 2-3 am, Yak’s Bend got fresh reinforcements from the Oceanic people and we just can’t do anything.
And so we wake up in the morning and everything is capped and we slowly have to build up our forces throughout the day to be able to give a big punch in the evening.
I don’t mind too much since Yak’s Bend will just go up in the rankings and we’ll never see them again
Ok, point 1. Not sure what you mean by dilluted? Please explain. Medium populations guilds can better recruit in high population servers and they get the added benefit of having no queues for WvW where they can play to their heart’s desire. So could you please go into more detail about dillution, I’m interested as to what you mean.
I’m playing in a medium to high pop server (Anvil Rock) and we already have a 300 members guild, and counting. There is a cap to a guild and it’s fairly easy to reach it. If you have a bigger population, you obviously have more guilds around that try to run the WvW and so the good players can be dispersed in too many guilds.
On your second point. I see your point here. Guilds in the top 4 servers don’t want to transfer to the second and third tier servers because of performance in smaller servers. However then, by logic the opposite would be true as well. Low pop and Med servers would be transferring to the second tier servers where they can enjoy High Population more active WvW and an around the clock coverage – but this is not currently happening. Point taken, but would like your opinion on this pls.
Without the real rankings it’s a bling pick. If we look at the actual state, transferring to Jade Quarry is a REALLY bad idea because they are against Henge. Imo I wouldn’t take the risk to transfer to a high pop server just to see myself getting owned all the time in WvW despite all our efforts. I’d rather be in a smaller server with absolutely no queue
I’m for smoothing out the WvW populations. Cancelling out the free transfer system lets things be as they are now. Understanding why people aren’t using the system in place to smooth out WvW populations is what I’m after. But thnx for derail – back on topic.
Well it’s fairly easy. Medium pop servers are building guilds and might not want to be dilluted in a high pop server with so many other guilds.
High pop server guilds don’t want to go in smaller servers because they don’t perform as much in WvW (by the ranking numbers).
Oh wait, you’re against Eredon Terrace?

Because the night capping servers have a high pop, and so you would need to queue for hours “to be competitive”.
Just way for the night capping servers to win and go up in rankings. Next WvW round, you won’t be against them.
You do know that if Oceanic servers perform better, they’ll go up in rankings and you won’t play against them, right?
Imo, when a server hits a certain amount of points in a certain time (like, they cap the whole map and get 650 points per 15 minutes), they should just reset the WvW and give a candy to the winning team.
Right now, every single tower is tier 3 and we can barely do anything since no one joins WvW. If it’s 2 weeks long and we can’t do anything…it’s bad
Imo, Orbs should give what the Outnumbered bonus gives: +magic find, +karma and +xp, not +stats
you want the good buff? you have to work for it. the “have nots” arent suppose to be artificially inflated for incompetence
I’m not sure being an Oceanic player is actually considered “skill”…
I would at least let people move it just a bit when it was just built. Sometimes, a ballista is at a wrong spot and you can’t do anything but shed a tear for the lost supplies and money.
Making the guilds truly global would work too. I just want to be able to game with all my friends (sort of like ArenaNet promised me before launch that I’d be able to do) & help out with their guilds when we’re doing activities together.
For someone like me, who is pretty much solely a PvEr, being limited from being truly global just because of something like WvW is frustrating. The only reason I’ll ever be WvWing is for my monthly achievements & apparently, in order to get 100% map completion so I can get the gift of exploration needed to craft legendary weapons.
I would also love a way to chat with other guilds I am a member of regardless of representing. To not have this feature makes joining multiple guilds a little bit pointless.
Why don’t you and your friends all join the same guild? Also, if the chat was global between every guild you’re part of, trust me, it would be pure chaos (considering guilds tend to have 200+ members)
Bump because I think more people should at least read this suggestion

The long lockout when you switch attunements is puzzling as a design choice

I find it fine as it is, for any weapon.
My guild have like 250 people and probably 200 always Represent it. It’s a matter of being interesting.
Would it be possible to create subforums for each server? It could be useful for guild recruitment, and maybe WvW strategies (if the subforums are only available to those playing on said server)
Well, you’re right
If you’re ready to dedicate people to run supplies, you’re not defending during that time. It’s also not a very reliable method when under siege. It’s just that I find it stupid that you’re stuck with 10 supplies, while no one drops a siege weapon (or the situation doesn’t let you do that) but the keep could use the supplies.
I like the idea of starving a tower/keep/garrison before attacking it, but because the depot is available to anyone anytime, we often lack supplies to defend. A good thing would be the ability for players to give their 10 supplies to a depot, so we can make a supply run when say, the enemy team is camping the caravan.
. I hate dungeons. It would have nice to acknowledge the near universal disgust at the gear grind.
