I like the scrap/ticket system for weapon skins — it allows people to gamble with gems, farm their own keys, or just buy skins on the TP from those who like the first two methods. I would like to see it applied to armor, too.

(However, I doubt it’s going to happen.)

How do you farm keys now? I thought you could only get 1 per week per account from the PSLvl 10.

You know I was pondering whether it would be a good idea to have different boss difficulties at different times of the day. For instance, back when they changed Tequatl’s HP in response to the condition changes and before they made it so you can apply conditions to him, many loved the new challenge. Of course many hated it as well.
So I wonder if it would be plausible to schedule a higher difficulty of the world bosses at certain times.

There’s nothing tricky about how/when/where she spawns; what i don’t understand is, if you’re not using a timer then how on earth do you get to ANY of the bosses? I’m totally mystified.

Yeah I use this method also and never had a problem getting to her in time.
For certain she is a challenge when there are few. However, with the mega servers and the big crowds now, I’d like to see her become a bit more challenging again as I almost never find few in this fight.

Maybe they can scale her a bit better.. as people show up.

IMHO, I think the best solution is to give us more ways to earn MPs. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Then these adventures would become what they are in Tyria. Something different and fun to do when you feel like trying it.

I think I had the easiest time in HoT with my thief/daredevil. If you want to skip past tons of mobs, take a thief.

Edit: Once you unlock the daredevil, the staff does insane damage and gives you great dodging abilities.

I think OPs idea is great, not only for crashes, but with so many maps open now and taxis everywhere, the maps seem to be closing constantly and my progress gets lost each time.
I’d love to see some type of system to hold our progress while on a specific map.

Got my first Hoard today. I also had one ascended weapon chest before the expansion came out. The shame of it is, I don’t have dire need for an ascended weapon on my Revenant. I want to work on a tank build, though, eventually, so there may be a staff in my future.

Congrats on your Hoard. I’m not sure if your Revenant is your only character, but if not, all ascended items are account bound and can be used by any of your characters. Also you can now exchange the stats in the mystic forge pretty easily. Just keep in mind you do lose upgrades when doing so.

It’s back in the saddle – So today, I followed the guidelines that Sligh.2789 apparently uses to help him get decent Tequatl rewards and…I got gold mostly everytime and at the end I got a Angchu Ascended Weapon Chest…whether focusing on battery defense helped or not…I cannot say or prove otherwise, however for once Tequatl didn’t give me garbage.

So the real question to now be asked…

IS THERE A SECRET TEQUATL PARTICIPATION METER?

Well congrats! I’m not sure if there is, but I think I’ll give it a shot too :P.

lol, I’m doing same. I have over 9.5 million. Once in a while I buy a few greatswords to throw into the forge.

I believe it took me as many, if not more kills to get my first/only hoard. I also have been killing him since he was out, and I was using alts to kill him multiple times in a day. I still fight him and enjoy the battle, even though it has gotten a lot easier now that we all know it. I honestly don’t know the total number of times I’ve killed him, but I ended up with two stacks of spoons before I eventually sold them for the bank space. Not to mention I didn’t even keep them at first.

The hoard I got actually dropped from the dragon chest. According to the wiki it has a rare chance to drop from the exotic chest as well.

Since then I have gotten 2 more ascended weapon drop chests from the exotic chests.

My point being RNG is the reason, but don’t give up. It will drop eventually.

Wow, I love these armors. The first one is gorgeous. I would love to see them in game. +1

This made me smile. I do this too and really wish we could use gliding in all of the game, although I know the maps weren’t made for it.

Today is the Sparkly Fen Daily also so there are many people on those maps, and doing the Teq run basically fills that with the different events in it. You may want to try when that’s not happening and there are less people/less dps.

They will spawn if the burn phases aren’t fast enough. It’s best to go only a couple minutes early to a map that isn’t full but still trying.

Don’t forget to hold your control key when under to see the chest.

This made me laugh so hard lol. I do like the Auric set though and would like to see that as armor.

It’s a kittenen mess. A tag calls out a champ that happens to be a mastery I need. I make my way to tag, but it’s not the right level. I look for a way to get to the right level. No clear markings on how to get there, so I try going to highest point in area so I can maybe glide and find it. Ten minutes later, I’m still looking for tag/champ, champ is dead.
This is basically how the entire map is. Frustration after frustration, mobs attacking you left and right so you can’t even take time to look through for paths. It’s just a mess. I like the idea of complex maps, but this one is a bit over the top and just not fun for me.

I ported into the westwatch challenge ‘trial by fire’ where you put in bids of aurillium. The time was still counting down and portal open. The last bid had already been placed, which I didn’t notice. It forced me into a no skill/combat mode. I left the area when I noticed the last bid had already been placed to prepare for the Meta event. I could not leave the mode I was forced into, nor could I go back through the portal.. I had no use of any of my skills and there is no ‘leave transformation’ skill like the transformation potions have. I tried using potion, but I got an error message saying you can not transform again right now. I tried getting killed and going through a WP, but when I revived I was still in the transform mode. My only choice was to log out and lose all progress I had made only to log back into a dead/fail map, which is beyond frustrating to say the least.
Please add a skill to allow us to force out of that mode.

I also am having a hard time finding Mastery Points at the stage I am in without having to go into these challenges. I have one Mastery line at 99%, but I switched to another because I didn’t have enough Mastery Points to unlock it. Now my other lines are getting fuller, but I still don’t have enough Mastery Points to unlock either of them.
I am now picking my content by what rewards Mastery points which is getting very limited the higher you get. It really has a ‘forced’ feeling to it, so I have been avoiding HoT maps more and more lately because of this. I would like to be able to go into those maps and do the content I enjoy yet still be able to make some progress towards Mastery, which you can only do until your XP bars fill.

Doing the events in SW is the only way I know of. People do group up to farm the chests, so even with a few you get access to many chests.

I couldn’t remember for sure if I had completed the personal story on my Daredevil so I went to check my progress in the Hero’s Panel, but it is only showing Step 1 – 7. I am quite certain I finished it recently though, because I have the rewards (Pact Weapon Container, Mentor’s Kit, Accursed Visage) still in my inventory bag from the final episode. Anyhow, with over a dozen characters on my account, I depend on the HP to tell what I have or haven’t finished so if there is anyway to fix this I would greatly appreciate it. Screenshot attached.

I just had my first BSOD crash again since my last post in this topic and it was triggered when I tried to /wiki something from chat in the game.
That is actually what triggered my last BSOD as well. I have been alt/tabbing all day for days without any crashes until this.
Computer specs:
i7-4710HQ – 2.5GHz
12 gb ram
Nvidia GTX 860M
Windows 10, x64

Yes Elementalist is very squishy. You have to pay close attention to the mechanics of the fight you are going into. Often times you can find a description under the enemy’s name of their attacks. If you know there will be many projectiles, find your reflects and be ready to use them. Dodge out of red circles and watch for big attacks. It gets easier as you get more practice. Staff is a great choice for range and damage. Water trait can be helpful also for the regen, but you have to be ready to switch between your elements as needed.

I had this same problem/crash yesterday and a few times in the days before. I decided to try and update my graphics drivers and found there was an update for the Intel one. I haven’t had a crash/BSOD all day yesterday and so far today since I did that. It also seems to have fixed the news feed not loading in the startup screen.

I was having this same problem for days. This morning I had a BSOD/Video
Scheduler Internal Error so I updated my graphics drivers, the Intel one specifically had an update and now it is loading correctly. I can’t say for sure that is the reason, but that is my experience. Hope this helps.

I’ve played all the classes, some more often than others, and yeah they are ‘mostly’ balanced, but if you are looking for really high dps, I’d suggest trying out a staff Elementalist.
I prefer her for pve, (solo play mostly) for fast damage.

I’m not sure how this affects other players. I made a f2p account just to test it out, and without the trading post or friends, how do you expect them to get gear? I’m just not sure what the problem is, maybe if you rephrased your problem with this, we can understand better.

I really like the first one, the charr looks nice too, and the last one looks good. Of the female characters, the norn and asura (second from bottom) look nice also. I’d suggest for the human females, the human cultural armor, or if you like darker looks, the shadow garb. Anyhow, nicely done.

I know you guys have been busy with bug fixes and other more important issues, but
I would really love to see some new faces, hairs, and dyes available in the makeover kits.
I actually thought they would come with the new HoT release, but when that didnt happen I thought maybe Halloween, still nothing new… Anyway, I’d love to see some newer options, maybe for the holidays or the new year. Thanks.

I just noticed this post. I also have or had this problem. I have a fairly new Asus PC with a liquid cooling system and after using the new 64 Beta client it actually broke. I am not familiar enough with all of this to put blame anywhere, but I did notice it working a lot harder after I started using this client, and I do play a lot of games never having this problem before. Anyway, it is a good idea to have some type of temperature monitoring software and as I read in other replies, limit the fps. I definitely will once I replace it and get it back working again.

So I just re-did the episode, and it played fine this time. I didn’t even restart the client.
I thought I’d add the part that didn’t load the last time I tried it.
I was suppose to say: " How’s it working now, Taimi? We back on track?
Taimi: "I think so. We’re almost right on top of the source!

I’m stuck on the step where Taimi is following the ley energy to get to Rata. We killed the golem and chak and just like the others said, she walks back to her spot to continue on the path, but then she does nothing. I’ve done this several times before with other characters but had no problems anywhere in the episode, so not sure what’s changed. I am on the 64beta Client most recent patch.

One thing i noticed since this was posted was that there are many HP trains going on. They are going through all the new maps and its pretty fast. (I merged with one at one point getting a hp and finished the map with them.) May be a useful solution for anyone that is having trouble finding help.

Fortunately on most of my alts I have 100% map complete pre HoT, so it does not take many HPs to get my elite specs on them. Unfortunately, there are some I do not have map complete on, and for those it is taking longer and the experience has shifted from fun and challenging new stuff to just tiresome. I can definitely relate, but I guess it is my choice to make and level so many characters, so I can’t complain too much…

Hmm, this is a tricky topic because many want more difficult content and a challenge, and many really enjoy solo play. In my opinion they should give us more ways to get hero points in pve so that solo players can at least open up the elite specs they paid for. That way players that enjoy group content with difficulty can get them that way, and the solo players that also paid for the expansion have some options too.

I’ve sent in numerous support tickets on this issue, but I am still having the same problem. I will be in the middle or at some point in a Teq battle, and the client will pop up an error message and force me to close out and restart. This leaves me with no way back to the map that I was in, which means I cant get to the chest I would have gotten, or any of the rewards… Lost resources that I paid for and time that I spent waiting for this battle and while in it.. and the worst part is it keeps happening with no word on it being fixed or even looked at to be fixed. It’s frustrating, and I know I am not the only one because people complain about it in game often and usually at Teq.
Fix the problem, give us a way back to the maps we were in, and if you can’t compensate us, at least keep us informed of where you’re at in fixing this issue or you will lose the players that haven’t left already.

Gem store won’t load for any of my characters either. It’s really frustrating. It’s just stuck on loading. It actually stopped working a bit before today’s update. I’ve restarted my PC, and deleted GW2 cache a few times but that didn’t work. Any other tips/suggestions would be appreciated.
