gaile, you might want to correct that typo :p

as far as i know, they changed it from account bound to soul bound, to stop people from abusing it. seems like they just didnt change the tooltip yet – something you dont even run across if you dont try to abuse :p

this was probably because they attached 1c to the mail, i had that as well. pretty annoying. just send it back, and if that doesn’t work (as described), prolly just take the copper and delete it then.

it’s not a bug, it’s a feature. it is just random. sell it or break it up and buy/craft your own gear.

what do you expect as rewards? anything apart from the gifts of exploration?

what did you get as rewards for the 100% map completion?

Worked for the spectral guard located south west in Straits of Devastation.

there is no npc to be defeated by :/ at least for the two skill points in the cursed shore

so it should be a bug. there are, though, discussions that it may be linked to completing the explorer achievements.

maybe use the forum search instead of google-ing “for hours”

i think, just from t2 (the verdant stuff) and the icons, that there are blue glass blades/stones in the weapons. the preview is probably bugged (look at the other cultural weapons, it’s just the same there). if that is the case, they probably look pretty awesome. haven’t found a valid picture yet, so at this moment it’s just an educated guess.

you might want to have a look at the ebonhawke weapons, they are some of the most beautiful ones ingame in my opinion (black and gold and dark blue). you can reach the fortress through an asura gate in divinity’s reach (all to the east of the city), or by just walking to the fields of ruin.

renewed focus is really, really a good skill. i don’t know why everyone underestimates it so much. if you skill into the last trait tier, you get reg/protection/might from your virtues, then get invulnerable for 3 sec, then do it again? no matter if you are alone or with others, that skill is awesome, no matter if you’re playing tanky or dps or supporty.

really, give it a chance, you will not regret it.

yes, we just experienced the same problem (server: dzagonur). really annoying, as its the only point missing for completion of the area.

that may sound depressing, but.. if you checked all your drivers (fixed the problem for some), just wait. let it do its 0kb (maybe restart a few times, it usually downloads some kb on restart). it worked for me.

..yes, after an overall 8 hours, but it finally worked without doing anything else, and now it runs fine (at least in this regard).

lol. as i said, i got fed up, and just left it there standing with its 0kb/sec and went reading a book. from time to time, when i felt like, and hated that 0 even more, i restarted. after one hour of waiting with 0kb/sec………. the game just started. thats my afternoon. the game really loaded many many 0 kb’s :p

okay, so.. it seems like my monitor is “correctly” directly connected to the grahics board (= gpu?). but since i tried reinstalling it anyway, and it is correctly connected, probably its something completely different for me.

i have to admit, my patience is running low. i’ll ask a friend to download the patch and give me the whole thing later. maybe that will help.

i downloaded the newest driver just an hour ago (i got an ati radeon hd 5770), didnt change anything. :(

it was for fontanero, sry. my brain hurts a bit from google-ing for nearly 7 hours now. and the only response from anet i got so far was the much anticipated “hey, maybe try to restart the launcher? :D”
…on the other hand, i have to laugh every time i think of it, so it was probably the best answer they could give.. ^^

i personally dont get into the part of the launcher where it shows any error messages, or what do you mean?

if you think you are experiencing a different problem, you should open an own thread.
as far as i understood, we are all stuck with a launcher that does not download anything, without an obvious reason. seems to me like quite the same problem.

wtf, the game is amazing. just wait for them to fix the problem. i doubt this will be within the next days, but afterwards, it will still be an amazing game.

just wait or try to fix it yourself, somehow.

hey, it is really getting a problem that many people experience. we might get help! yay!

maybe some more detail after 5 hours of trying:
- winsock resetting doesnt help (yes, i tried about anything that ever fixed any problem in this forum)
- i noticed that my internet slows down incredibly when i had the launcher running and trying to patch. i can hardly open a website. the moment i shut down the launcher, everything works perfectly. does that maybe help? (if any official is reading this, anyway) it almost looks like the launcher is somehow slowing down the internet connection, and then obviously cant use it itself..

edit: awww, i tried that as well, didnt help :/

i have a similar problem, only that i don’t even get this far – my launcher is stuck at the very first stage, where you only see the amount of downloaded data and the download speed. has been like this for nearly 4 hours now. found 1 or 2 other people with this problem.

on twitter i was advised to “just restart the launcher” – guess that translates into “we have no idea what causes this, but there are currently not enough users experiencing this problem to seriously deal with it” (which is not meant as an accusation, they have to focus on the stuff that prevents most users from playing first). just keep posting if you get that issue, maybe it will be enough to be addressed after a while.

but remember to post it if you fix it!!!

i guess there is some malsynergy.. or however you call the opposite of synergy.. between the new patch and some of my hard-/software.. would be easier to determine if there were patch notes -.-

flushed it (said “successfully flushed”), didn’t change anything.

btw it stopped downloading altogether like 3 mins ago. (i did nothing special just before that. the flushing was afterwards.)

i did the exact same as i did every day since release (i like holidays), and yes, i’m running as administrator. i’ll try that dns thing (just went to reboot the router, didn’t help).

will that renew my computer’s ip address? because i access internet via a whitelist, so if it changes my own ip address, i won’t have internet access any more, which kinda wouldn’t fix my problem :/

edit: internet works normally apart from that download problem, i just patched another game and it worked fine.

the mouse wheel only works to zoom in/out if not both mouse buttons are pressed. it was this way in gw1, too, and is intended.

maybe try if its not a bug, but you sometimes pressed both mouse buttons (e.g. for running without keyboard) when trying to zoom.
