But I’m concerned about where it seems to be heading!
Distinctly less shiny than it once was
one thing i dont get …Most peopel got to 80 in 2 days. , i got to 21 in 1 week :O
This is far from normal, don’t worry! I only dinged 80 on my first character during the first Halloween event (played since launch)
Just explore the world, experiment with different weapons, armour and builds. Talk to every NPC you meet, find hidden corners to take cool screenshots. The GW2 world is absolutely stunning, and you won’t get to appreciate that grinding levels in Dungeons for hour on end
Still happening on Gandara… tried about 10 times with multiple toons, keep getting into spectator mode
You know what… I’ll throw my hat in the ring. Nothing earth shattering, but important to me:
1) Condition Cap in PVE
2) Pace of Living Story (a little slower please)
3) Making something other than “Zerker or GTFO” or the Zergfest/Spam 1/Particle effect catastrophe viable
On Gandara, not in overflow, got Gold on the Labyrinthine Horror (but no achievement) 4 times now!
Every time we get a release there is a guide provided on the GW2 site.
Mmmm… It’s hardly unreasonable to expect to have some information actually in game is it? I’m NOT new, and the fact I have to find out what to do from the internet drives me absolutely potty!
never log in to the forums, but had too… Well done you!
Lilitu Livid… A handmaiden, diminutive and pale fury, all combined!
Couldn’t resurrect Ophelia Ordura…. She was my GW1 girl and her time is past
Apart from the odd mistimed Epidemic (which IS frustrating, I grant you) could you give some concrete examples and an explanation of the kind of scenarios that it’s been troublesome… Because I honestly don’t see it
1) Gandara, because my IRL friends were there, and there was no reason to change, and now I’ve made new friends…
2) My only foray into W3 was dispiriting, to say the least… I arrived, didn’t know what to do, died more times than I am used to, asked for help (explaining I was new) in /map, and got various snidey “L2P noob” type responses… pretty much reinforced my opinion of PvPer’s, and have never set foot there again
3) The only time I notice a W3 buff is when I gaet an extra go at a hern node and a coriander seed pops out.
4) No. I have all the gold I need
5) The legendary waepons that look appropriate for my Necro are lacking, to say the least
6) I don’t know all the server names/abbreviations… Possibly Gates of Madness?
“Is that a Scythe in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?” – Mae West
“By Grenth, I think she’s got it!” – My Fair Lady
“Can I put my Grasping Dead in your pocket?” – Gone with the Wind
Like the thread idea Bas, and all that you (and others) have done to make the Necro Forum a nicer/more positive place to visit… Might we have some sort of Community developing? (gasp, horror, faint… Wait for the next big QQ thread) ;-)
I had most luck with sage leaves from Herb sprouts in Snowden Drifts and Lornar’s Pass
I’m rather fond of the “Verdant” skin http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Verdant_Dagger (also available from drops in Mount Maelstrom), staff wise I use the Modnir skin, but I DO like the look of Bramblethorn, as well. Armour wise I use a mix of Winged and Feathered, with a Cabalist hood (I hide the shoulders, honestly all the shoulders in this game are just “Meh”)
As a “PVE’er” I’ve set foot in WvWvW precisely once… I had no idea what was going on, put out a map query that was met by 3 “L2P” type responses, ran off to the nearest objective (for lack of any other ideas), died immediately/horribly, as per Lina’s post above, and then promptly left! I’d like to get involved, but, as an introduction to something that’s supposed to be “fun”… It really wasn’t
I like the idea, and I’m willing to learn, but my previous experience, reading through various threads and seeing terms like “care bear” bandied about, as well as a perceived need to be fully kitted out in exotics (getting there, but a way off, yet) doesn’t help matters
I’m on Gandara… If someone wants to show me the ropes I’m all for it!
Drops out of giant winterday gift boxes
And here’s my girl… I like the tats!
Bags of Booty drop from Pirates (Lornar’s Pass and Harathi), I believe you also find Oranges in Ritual Sacks and Medium Ritual Bags (Flame Legion) and Thorned Sacks (Nightmare Court)… Hope this helps
@ Poison Fearfire… I’m also on Gandara, so do feel free to get in touch! I’ll add you as a contact if that’s OK? I’m on pretty much all the time (not working/ no life ATM)
^^^ I believe it’s the “Modnir Quarterstaff” skin (Karma Vendor in Harathi, can’t remember which one).
Thanks for the warm welcome all… Now if somebody could drop me an invite, that’d be extra cool
@akamon, I’d suspected, but not known for certain that a dungeon would be the final story step… Dreading it a little, TBH
@DEK2C (hope abbreviations are OK, that’s an awfully long name, LOL)… Those wolves + gibberlings outside Candlekeep were a bugger (esp if a Mage who’d chosen “Identify”)! Thanks for the invite for W3, but a server change isn’t really on the cards ATM
My achievement of today is getting Hannah out of the tutorial and into the world… As someone who has NEVER played melee, I’m having an awful lot of fun killing things with a Hammer! (But as someone used to playing range, staying close enough to hit stuff can be tricky!)
PS: I forgot my L8 Charr Engineer (Criolla Sella)… Currently parked in the Plains of Ashford hoping for Chili Peppers :P
Hi All, I have to confess that I’ve not read all of the monster of a thread, but have been dipping in and out! You seem to have created a nice Community, and it sounds like something I’d like to be part of, if you’ll have me ;-) (how do smileys work on this stupid forum?)
Name: MissKittin
Main: Lilitu Livid (L80, Human Necro)
Alts: Tethys Tarragon (L35, Sylvari Ele), Freya Fatalii (L35 Norn Ranger), Hannah Habanero (L1 Asura Guardian, parked in the tutorial since head-start!)
Server: Gandara
Interested: Finishing my personal story, getting to level appropriate zones (I’ve been over-leveled throughout due to poking into every nook and cranny), Map Completion, crafting Exotic Armour for me + hubby
Eventually interested: Setting foot into some sort of dungeon… TBH, I’ve been a bit scared off by the inter-web of horror on this front, getting good at jumping puzzles (although I was astonished to earn the breached wall achievement without even knowing it was there), Master Craftsman (1/8 so far, LOL), possibly some WvWvW (it sounds like mayhem, and a little bit of that is always good!)
Active: Most evenings (although I tend to play with hubby and represent our Guild then), but also during the day… I’m currently not working due to illness, and have far too much time on my hands.
Additional: It takes me a while to get to know people, so I’m often quiet, but that doesn’t mean I’m not interested! I’ve only ever played GW1 in this genre, and still think the Baldur’s Gate series is the best game of all time (showing my age here… Eeek)! I have far too many bank slots, all filled with the products of my cooking adventures (and I love cooking iRL too). Always happy to help other people out, even if over the ether
Willing to participate: Happy to represent LOH when participating with other members (are there any on Gandara?… If not, I’ll represent during the day on my wander-abouts)
PS: Glitch… Good luck with Med School, it’s the best decision I ever made :-)
Maybe I’m being unreasonable…
But when the game engine tells me “This content has been disabled… Please try again later”. I shouldn’t have to come to a forum, wade through 5 pages and then find out that it works if you stand around the side?
Might be just me though
I hate jumping puzzles (mostly because I suck at them)… Maybe one day I’ll make the effort to try. Now, I’m a completionist along with the rest of you, but there are some things that aren’t happening for me right now: It’s a video game, deal with it
(sorry to sound harsh, but really: The whining is becoming ever more toxic)
I’ve also had Superior sigil recipe from personalised T-oT bag
I don’t think I’ve ever been compelled to post twice in a row on a forum but…
I want my Quaggan plushie!
I’m loving this thread… It’s a breath of fresh air after seeing all of the negativity
I’m having an absolute blast with this event: My little witch whizzing about the world on her broom, sucking at costume brawl, the cutest Quaggan’s ever (and that’s saying something, because they’re pretty kitten cute in their normal state), the bats in LA are just one of the tiny details that makes me smile, the fact that ANet responded to the Community furore re BLC within 48 hours.
If I had one little nit-pick: I think the Scavenger Hunt clues were a little too easy!
I have to say, I’m not feeling left out… I’m whizzing around LA on my broomstick, spawning cauldrons so others can enjoy costume brawl, farming candy corn, so I can exchange it for T-o-T bags, enjoying the bats fluttering their wings along the banners in LA, and hunting down “haunted doors”. The scavenger hunt thingy was great fun, although a little too easy. The BLC blurb always said a “chance” to obtain a weapon skin (and I’d already decided that the keys were really too expensive)
And this is only Act 1!
Call me easily pleased (I don’t think I am), but I’m really loving this update!
I really like the “Modnir” staff skin… Acquired for Karma in the Harathi hinterlands
Dill also drops from nodes in Bloodtide Coast, although rarely
Both Rosemary and Sage are found in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. Sage also seems to be available in The Fields of Ruin
If you hover over the gathering tool in your Hero panel, it will tell you what resources it’s used for harvesting (so no need for trial and error, or internet searches)
I tend to carry a selection of gathering tools, and check they’re appropriate as I approach the node (of course you do get the occasional “ruined plant fibre”, LOL
