Guild Wars 2

That’s sad. looks like I’ll stick to WoW and Rift because I can’t stand the inability to not heal or tank when someone is going down. It’s to much of a zerg mentality of just throwing damage at something with no real mechanics for me to have any fun. Tha and I’m still upset about Anet just blatantly lieing on their manifesto and making the game have that vertical progression (remember now when I left, it was after that November patch.

So, I’ve been gone for god knows how long because I couldn’t stand the zerg mentality and the all dps run around like a chicken with your head cut off game play. So I left for games where I could be a true tank or true healer once again. Now I am wondering can one be either of those things in this game yet or is it still be like a DPS with it’s head cut off routine that really just seems like a giant cluster-@%#$?

RNG is one of the reasons I uninstalled and quit this game. There is no fun and trying for days and months to get a item when some one comes along and on their first try gets an item. It makes all the effort I put into the game seem wasted as you can not improve your odds to get a item, you can only put in more time. Why should I waste my time trying to get something when I can go play a game where I am at least knowing what I’m going to get.

Was reading the blog and now they wish to make you pay for a server transfer?? Why..only a excuse to get more money from the player base, whats next a subscription to post on the forums..this game has quickly turned into a Much more costly game than when it was pre-purchased.

This was just one of the many things that annoyed me enough into quitting the game..I never felt like I was getting more powerful anytime I leveled up it meant nothing as I would always be scaled. Someone mentioned Skyrim as having “harder mobs” Just got 100 destruction magic on my mage last night..and yea…even elder dragons are pretty easy now. See thats progress, Guild wars never really had that progress feel. Even Guild Wars 1 with its statscap let you keep your stats once you got them.

Easy to get BIS gear, easy as in a few coin could get you the best Stats..and fairly early in the game, Then you went with the game. Yes the Look was plain and drab but the stats were set…I actually quit the game and deinstalled due to this, if I wanted gear grind RNG praying would stick to WoW.

GW2 seems nothing but a lie and waste of the years I spent waiting on it and the fact they made me a liar to my friends when I told them best things about guild wars based on their manifesto.

Just do what I did…quit the game and tell everyone you know not to waste money on the garbage that GW2 has become..sol far from its orginal manifesto not funny…Skyrim though has been fun

Pvp as someone said earlier is the worst thing you can put in a mmo and then add loss of items and money you worked for…those games dont work, people have no desire to risk items they won in a game.

In fact only people I ever see ask for this Crap are griefers who never actually go up against people their own level and gank newwbies and lowbies. I have to come to the conculsion that world pvpers and those that request ffa servers are the worst form of human on the planet and are despicibale gamers

Ok, I’ve tried multiple times since the fractual update to get back into the game but frankly its boring now, before it was get to level 80 get a max suit of armor and then start going out looking for skins and looks. Aka effort = reward.

Now when I log in its ok…I know I have to log in get to 80, then go into fractuals and pray to the RNG gods that I hope my gear drops…to me even thinking of that is boring, if I wanted a RNG treadmill I would have stuck with WoW. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and uninstalled multiple times just Trying to get into the game and play. How ever I just cant do it, the game I couldnt stop playing in its beta..now bores me to death when I even think of logging in.

I did leave, logged out of the game. I hate dieing and to a stupid troll event even more…

So, logged in I’m in the asuran starting area and I head to open a gift..now, 6 little “toys” pop open and I die…wtf, dieing is Not fun..and who ever thought this would be cute or funny can receive a pink slip for Christmas this year..

Honestly..won’t find any disagreement from me.

Ok, I’m no stranger to the forums. I like to speak my mind, and now I’m doing it again. I’ve been following this game for years. Even heard the rumors back when it was thought to be ‘vaporware.’ I was estatic when I read the Manifesto about how no grind or no chasing after gear and how any class can fulfill any role in the game so as to avoid the holy trinity.

Now here comes the problem, when I go to log onto my character. Starts at level 1 and I think to myself, it’s going to take forever to reach level 80, and I Despise leveling, why I played GW1 for so long the leveling process was short and quick. Could do it in a weekend. Now in GW2 I just see weeks of grinding up through the levels to reach cap And then unlike GW1 there is fractional ascended armor which goes completely off RNG and you have to chase a carrot on a stick. Main reason I only played WoW for 45 minutes when I went back to them. I saw nothing but having to invest time before I could actually enjoy the game.

The last sentence in the above paragraph is nothing but a 180 degrees direction from the original manifesto. When I first started playing, the game was great people out in the world doing all sorts of things, whether you were at level range or a level 80 coming back to farm Karma from events Now no bodies in the world, no one is trying to get some rare cool skin they are all in one city and trying to do one instance.

So the problem is, no one to play with, the game when logging in feels like a chore and I Might get what I want, I might not. (Loved how armor could have been bought with just karma) So, Anet I believe personally has failed in their endeavor to create the game that did have great promise but now with lack of people in world, the long tedious leveling, the dangling carrot that you may or may not get.

Honestly I don’t think this would be such a problem to make personal on Your screen, just have Anet ad a option in game to change that color on your computer. Let it be hot pink. (I actually favor hot pink because it’s easy to see /shrug)

So we have found out where Chuck Norris keeps his deer that he hunts. Truly only these deer could satisfy his appetite for the hunt.

Strange fact, when I play WoW. I tend to go back to low level zones to help people. farm some mats of lower level to sell on AH and I enjoy them as I know now that I put in effort and time I can destroy those which used to be able to destroy me.

Playing GW2 Go back to a lower level zone? HELL NO! All my gear/stats get down graded it feels as if I’ve done nothing in the game and it’s not even worth a thought to go back. I like to think I’ve progressed some what.

trying to decide on what (non-full) server to play on, I know what I’ll be doing. Necromancer, type of gaming I’ll do. WvP and some pve. How ever it seems all the servers are full, and can’t go to start a new character.

Anyone have any recommendations for a server to play on, and a active guild to join?

So, in CST zone but I’m looking for a late night guild for when I can play on my days off I can play with other people. Now looking for WvW and some pve content. Any guilds fitting the build of late night, I’ll be starting complexly over so be a while to level up the character but I need a place to play.

I’m 100% certain this has been asked but I will ask anyways, is there a way to restore a character on a account? I had a high 60’s (my highest character in fact) that I deleted but now I know in EVERY other game I played, character restorations are quiet simple. (having done far to many to count my self when I worked for a gaming company) How do I request a undeletion?

Yea, found that out after I deleted my characters to try and move…well I might as well not play for 5 days. ….Dis, I don’t understand dis..

Is it possible to create characters on multiple servers, or do you have to delete your characters to start on a new one? When I came back to the game, it said to “transfer” a character you had to wait 7 days. now all my characters are level 2/3 and no problem deleting them, how ever if I do delete them, do I still have to wait or can I start completly on a new server?

So eating dinner, reading the forums and a idea struck me. Class Change in the gem store. See class change doesnt work in most games with the amount of skills you learn. In GW2 that doesnt really apply as you can be leveled to 80 in most situations anyways.

How ever in PVE this doesnt always work because of slots opened not really skills. So my idea is to simply pay a fee to change class. I personally would do this because I HATE leveling, it just about worst part of the game to me, so you would pay to change your class, yes have to get new gear, yes would have to unlock weapon skills if you didnt unlock them. You would just be level 80.

Now I admit like I said a class change wouldnt work in most games, how ever in GW2 would make perfect sense

Secondly, I’m trying to start completely over and level a character as close to support as possible. Ie some healing, some conditions such as blind/cripple. Because I feel useless at times because I’ve never been the best at DPS, so. I was thinking Necromancer with their wells, but was wondering what other people think. Staff necro with marks/wells or is there a better all around support class?

I know guardian has the heals and tanks, but I’ve played the guardian, didn’t really like the feel of it, so any suggestions or thoughts?

Ok, I got all mad and everything about the Ascended gear..still am to be honest because I hate gear treadmills..how ever, I went to go back and play WoW. (mistake 1) In the few hours I was back there, bosses bugged in instance that I couldn’t play, non shared mobs. (WoW, guild wars totally spoiled me on that) People who are just so …Wowish. AKA, I can talk civil to people over here, even the most fundamental ragers have decent grammar and spelling.

Monk class is fun, don’t get me wrong and being a dedicated healer again is awesome..how ever, I am doing damage and healing at same time..was thinking, I’ve already done this before..Oh yea, Guild Wars pulled that off better.

So, basically what I’m going to have to do is eat some crow and reinstall Guild Wars, for I Tried going back to that other game, but sadly once I played GW2 and had what it offers, there really is no comparison, so the real question, is how to find the enjoyment of support class in GW2, for really that to me is only thing lacking is a ‘true’ healer, Well, time to DL game and install again.

Wow…it sounds like some bully, here. they don’t want any mention of it anywhere. All I see now coming from ANET is hostility, this is anet on a whole. You guys have just turned hostile to your player base.

Used black friday to purchase Mist of Panderia. uninstalled game, took down my guilds vent server. (I wasn’t going to be in game, wasn’t paying for it.) The patch was in Complete contrast to their manifesto and turned it into RNG hell. You have to run these dungeons to get better gear, if you go into the world, that effort is turned to dust because the game down scales your gear..

At least in WoW if I run something over and over to get better gear, I can then go into the world and my effort isn’t turned completely around. To me, this game makes no sense at all anymore..

Wow…my post had nothing really to do about ascended gear, it was on the topic of the forums and the silence by Anet..and they go merge it into this thread so it becomes buried. yea…Anet..good bye, I won’t be missing you at all. I went from upset to disgruntled and angry.

Wasn’t comparing the real id information on the forums. I was comparing the outcry on the forums, Both to me are just plain wrong. (I don’t work for them anymore I can say they were just Wrong !) How ever the major fire storm of their forums turning from meh..to raging cluster *@#$ is very similar and Blizzard drew back and corrected that problem. The question is, what will Anet do to correct the problem.

As most of us are WoW/Ex WoW players…I’m sure you guys remember the fiasco of the real ID that was to be implemented on their forums. I worked for Blizzard at the time and the community teams couldn’t keep up with the posts, it was gaining at time 5 pages a minute in posts The “thoughts on Ascended gear” now looking at 10844 replies with 134949 views. It took a letter from Mike Morhaim himself to kill the fire at blizzard and a retraction of realID on the forums

Now, we have ascended gear in game and frankly only way I see this fire being put out, is either reascending the new gear or nerfing them to exotic stats. With a letter from Anet design team saying. “Yes, this did seem like a good idea in theory, but it did go against the Manifesto and we will be adjusting the stats of Ascended items to only include Agony slots, and all exotics now will be formatted to include Agony.”

But watching these forums is exactly like the fiasco of Forum RealID…what do you guys think?

Being a GW player for years and a big fan, I never thought that quitting GW2 would even occur to me. Suddenly am forcing myself to take a break from all the shocking disappointments by Anet handling GW2 and not keeping their word. Just not to actually quit. I am tired of this. I love the game and hate to see such amount of anger and disappointment towards it…Not everyone has the time and not everyone has the money. You promised us a fair game play and experience; so far I have been witnessing the total opposite.
I am loosing all the excitement I had once for the game, I don’t like this feeling. Please give us GW back…Now am just afraid of what next event/content release would be…

Same boat you are in, I played several different alts trying to find my way in this game as I was used to playing support/tanking roles and was trying to find my niche in the game..highest character isn’t even 70 yet… I followed this game for so long, it was like it was vaporware at times. Now I’ve uninstalled the game and just so disheartened at Arena net and by word of mouth telling others to not even bother playing it.

One thing was promised, now it’s destroyed. GG anet. (practicing my WoW lingo for pay day)

Yes, max level armor stats. Should be easy as heck to get. Because of the differnt types of builds and skills you could get +healing, +condition, +might +What ever…but once you had it, you could change your play style around them, and if you decided, wow that +healing set looks awesome, I’ll try for that. It doesn’t do more, it just looks different. That was the game Guild Wars was built around and it was great..this new stuff, well I’m done and they already lost this player.

Yea..your SoL for the old armor it seems, because why run old stuff if the new stuff is better. It’s why I uninstalled the game this morning, no point in playing really

This is my response on ascended gear..sent this to my guild leader this morning.

So, questing hatred aside. The thing I loved most about GW2 was the gear cap, I didn’t have to worry about random drops or “wanting to get a item” I could get it if I put the time and effort into it. With this new change and the desire to put grinding/rng into the mix. I won’t be playing anymore.

Been fun, been great. Hope you guys do enjoy, I will be taking the vent server down as I won’t be playing on this game and I do not wish to continue paying for it if not using it. I will be uninstalling the game

Reading over these posts, and logging into the game…All I see is fractual dungeons. Before it was a mired of different dungeons… Now it’s Only fractuals. Not only have the forums changed in a weekend, the game itself has changed completely… Maybe they can just roll things back and just take out the new gear, or something… I want Guild Wars back..not…what ever this is now.

As a previous WoW player, I would go at times to read their General forums it was in fact a deterrent against ever wanting to go play that game, I would then come back to the GW2 forums, read the civilized and constructive posts and how everyone was for the most part happy with the game. It was great…

Now in a single weekend, that has all changed. 200+ thread filled with hate and animosity against Anet, people claiming Bait and Switch, A complete change of Guild Wars mechanics at its core..now…WoW not looking so bad anymore, because I see things over there that I know, classes I understand, mechanics I know..and I know where Blizzard stands on gear and grinding. I know Raids = best gear, Dailies = Grind, Dungeon Finder meaning I can skip questing…

Guild Wars…not sure what to expect anymore..and after bringing several friends from WoW to Guild Wars…I am afraid I may have done them a disservice.

Yes they should, number 1 thing I loved about Guild Wars and what was Guild Wars 2…no gear grind, no worrying about “If” I’m going to get that drop or not…now it’s turned into do you have the latest gear, do you have max stats. Sorry…this isn’t the game I bought and played for months through the beta’s and up to this patch…This isn’t the game at all..

Why would you do all the dungeons you could before if it doesn’t give the best rewards? It’s like tier progression in WoW..you don’t do the earlier stuff once better stuff has been released as your getting less reward for your effort. Because once you get those items and move into the world and go to differnt zones/area’s those items will be lowered anyways.

It seems we now have the worst of both worlds now. The best items are in select few places, those best items once you go into the world will be downgraded…What is the point here? I really don’t know anymore.

I actually agree, it’s annoying at times when your level 60 and go to a level 20 zone. You play for progression, you want your character to get stronger, but so far I don’t feel like I progressed at all in this game as the mobs mostly look the same zone to zone and I’m not getting any stronger because of scaling. People have said you progress with weapon skins and such. When I use my weapons, I never see them. So..let us have some form of progression right now it just seems like a giant grind with no where to go.

Ok, I’ve been playing this game since the early beta’s and now. I know Anet said they didn’t want to have the traditional role of "healer/Tank/DPS’ and that’s fine and dandy..but some people actually enjoy tanking, or me I love playing healer and I’ve been going through the classes trying to figure out which could actually help me keep people alive.

So far, everything is subpar and the more I play and the more I have to deal with frustrating mechanics and bugs..the more I want to go back to WoW..the game is not fun for people who like to play support. Now I will admit alot more people love to see damage numbers than those that enjoy healing people or allowing others to do the damage. So is there any way to play a viable support character and be that healer or tank…because so far, haven’t found it
