[Serious] how to detonate fire aura/shield?

okay I think im understanding how king of fires works.

I’m still not clear how normal fire aura’s differ tho. These would work the same way for other classes right? Like how do ele detonate their fire aura? Through blasts? Or since im a warrrior….does traiting King of fires make all my fire aura’s detonate through berserker skills? Then shouldn’t my fire aura’s also detonate through the same way an ele or other classs can detonate them? and what are those ways?

I mean I can torch 5 and sword 2 to leap through a fire field to create a fire aura. I can do that with or without king of fires traited. HOw does that detonate though? Just confusing me. later ill have to test between having king of fires traited and not having it traited.

Or do fire aura just NOT detonate unless ur a warrior running king of fires? I’m thinking thats the case? idk i look the stuff up on the wiki…go through alll the diff possible pages and can’t find anything but sometimes thats just a case where they omitted the information or put it on a 3rd or 4th page ’somewhere’in there…
I mean looking up king of fires fixed alot of my confusion on the wiki. Before, I looked up the fire aura/fire shield/ aura/ combo fields….and those don’t give you answers. Or mbe all classes have a special trait that allows them to detonate aura….idk!!! 10 wiki pages of every combination of things involved might give me an answer tho….if i can think up the pages.

You are overcomplicating things.

1 – The aura you get from from the trait is just like anyother fire aura. Elementalist can’t detonate their auras. Only warriors with King of Fires can.
2 – If you don’t have King of Fires traited you can NOT detonate fire auras.
3 – Again, Only warriors with King of Fires can detonate fire auras. Other classes don’t have that mechanic.

The trait works fine for me.

+33% burning duration. You gain a normal fire aura when you deliver a critical hit (15 ICD). Plus, while you have a fire aura, any rage or primal burst will detonate it. Simple as that.

What it seems to me is that the tooltip was written poorly.

Lets say we live in hypothetical world and stomping is not a thing. I have had several situations where i killed both pets and yet, somehow, the ranger was still getting revived. I was just wondering if there is any way to actually and reliably interrupt that skill.

Just balance the condition damage, scale and modifiers numbers (not the gear), there’s no need to make a whole new system that will just cause more balance more problems.

Just imagine the lag as the server tries to calculate condition crits.

It doesn’t take alot to fix WvW, and ANet could have done it with the development time they have invested on trying to invent miraculous solutions. The same situation with PvP, they have tryed to reinvent the wheel to, in the end, use a existing system that works. The developer EGO speaks to high and obvious solutions are ignored. I think soon they will realize that.

Indeed, the good ol hammer warrior is long dead and so does support warrior. Even warbanner might not be worth it since everyone gets revived in 2 seconds. Just go full damage.

I have the same problem, every time a skill is used or a enemy comes by, my ping goes up from 160ms to 200ms.

I’ve reported this over a year ago.

Shield bash range is bugged, the tooltip says 450 but the effective range is 300. It should move you the same distance as windwhirl attack (450 range).

Makes no sense because they don’t know what to do with warrior/berserker. And all feedback that is constantly given is ignored.
They are randomly adding damage and reducing cooldowns in a mindless hope of making warrior viable.

My feedback about warrior balance.

  • Please, send some one to actually read the warrior forums. There’s A LOT of feedback there that gets constantly ignored.
  • The problem can be solved really easily by just swaping some traits around. Adding damage will no solve anything.
  • The rifle change was a step in the right direction (Still a gimmicky and clunky weapon), although the berserker stance change was a massive leap back.

Kill shot should do more damage to further away foes and you should be able to move (slowly) while casting it.

Quick tip: if you press ’’V’’ your character will execute a dodge. So when you see a warrior glowing all red and aiming at you, you can use that button ’’V’’ to avoid the damage.

Don’t think the build will be completely killed off because of that fire field merge as long as it requires enemies to stand in it, just like napalm or flamewall. However current state of scorched Earth is messed up as hell. I mean it does make Gorseval fight easier and allows fun stuff such kitten man VG happen, but I completely disagree with 2 fire fields from 1 skill ticking twice.

Anet can also increase the burn stack on torch to make it appealing for pvp and pve but scorched earth at current state needs to go. Just to defend myself from people who likes current state of scorched earth, yes I invested lots of gold converting my heavy ps set into vipers, fully ascended weapon, backpiece, trinkets, etc. Still don’t like scorched earth.

I don’t know, usually when ANet nerfs something it gets destroyed. And I don’t care about the gold i spend on the build, i’m just tired of playing PS Warrior and having no build diversity.

There is plenty of evidence showing how much more DPS burnzerker does then all other classes on not only gor, but vale and sabetha as well. The exact numbers people come up with on spreadsheets is irrelevant.

Yeah, they will probably fix it by making scorched earth into a single fire field. I just hope they don’t kill the build.

A spreadsheet does not reflect the actual reality, on a super hypothetical situation where everything is perfect, maybe, condition berserker can do 34k DPS, but again, that most likely will never happen. + nerfing the burning on berserker will probably kill warrior (beserker) even more in PvP. Making scorched earth into a single fire field and buffing the burn duration on flame flurry is a good way to balance it.

So i decided to make some trailblazer’s armor to play my condition build in WvW, but i can’t change the stats on my ascended armor to trailblazer’s because the insignias don’t work in the mystic forge. I Know this bug is already known, but it was reported more than a month ago and i thought it was fixed already.

I feel like the only balanced professions right now are warrior and thief, the other professions got so much stuff out of their elite specializations that they have become over powered.

So you have 2 solutions for the problem;

Buff warrior and thief to the same level of the other professions. Which in my opinion is REALLY, REALLY BAD for the game because you end up with builds that can do everything at the same time, be tanky, do damage, etc… see for example marauder strapper, it has everything, Damage, support and is tanky.

Or nerf everyone down to the warrior and thief level. Witch is way more healty to the game because you dont have superoverpowered classes that can do every thing. For example: Warriors can do a lot of damage, but they are quite squisy. Or they can play more suporty being more tanky but doing way less damage.

But still, warriors and thieves need some help, but is more a question of changes than buffs.

You are not only giving out might, but, 320 power (1070 including the might), 170 condition damage, 170 precision and 170 ferocity.

Also power ps warrior can do some really good damage right now.

Suggestion to the warrior rifle (damage buffs will not fix a bad weapon by design).

  • Auto attack: 10% damage nerf – 10% attack speed buff.
  • Tranquilizer: Shot a tranquilizer dart at your foe. Causing slow, vulnerability and blind.
  • Volley: it is fine.
  • Piercing ammo: Load your rifle with penetrating bullets. Your next 2 attacks are unblockable.
  • Rifle butt: Push your foe back and evade backwards, gain vigor.
  • Kill shot: Nerf the damage 10%. It does more damage to further away foes.
  • Gun flame: Nerf the damage 10 – 20%. Shot a explosive ammo at you foe that explodes upon hitting, dealing AoE damage and dazing nerbay foes.

Regarding banners, I’d like to see them reworked in light of the new engi Gyros.

  • Reduce normal banner duration to 60s and cd to 70s. Increase Battle Standard duration to 120s and reduce the cd to 180s.
  • After summoning a banner, have that utility slot change to a skill that allows the warrior to basically collect a banner (in range) and wear it on their person so the field emanates from the warrior at half the radius.
  • Have the utility slot become “Plant Banner” while the banner is worn
  • Double the number of allies affected by a banner when planted in the ground
  • Trait increases effect radii by 50% (i.e. 900 when planted; 450 when carried)
  • Trait adds a specific pulsing boon to each banner: Defense – Protection or Aegis, Discipline – Vigor, Strength – Might, Tactics – Regeneration, Battle Standard – Stability. The different boon durations and pulse frequencies can be adjusted for balance (e.g. permanent uptime of protection would be ridiculous). Another approach would be to add the buffs when for longer durations when the banners are summoned and reduce both the durations and cds of the banners themselves (to increase application frequency of summoned boons)

Also make it so you can only carry a maximum of two banners at same time, and they display at the top of your head, see attachment for example.

I have an idea for a healing skill that can be useful besides healing signet.

Since the main ’’theme’’ of rage skills is to gain adrenaline, why not do something useful with that adrenaline besides expendin it on burst skills?

Blood Reckoning: Heal yourself and gain adrenaline when you hit a foe. All adrenalin you gain while Blood Reckoning is active heals you.

What do you all think about this for Tactics. I just merge some traits to open 2 Major an 1 Minor for some new ones… oh an i was thinking of moving Powerful synergy down to Master so a Grandmaster slot would open. (?^o^)

Sounds good, in my opinion powerful synergy should also affect other combo finishers, like projectile or even blast finishers.

I don’t think it is worth swapping a entire rune set to get 1 second of chill, you can get more by just using hydromancy. + i don’t really think chill is dat good on warrior, i only use hydromancy for the damage it can do.

Hello,
So… I decided to waste my time and write a list of changes that could improve the berserker experience.

First of,

TRAITS:

  • Smash brawler: Reduce the recharge on burst skills, while berserk mode is not active each bar of adrenaline you spend will reduce the recharge of berserk mode by 2 seconds.
  • Savage instinct: Activating berserk mode breaks stuns. Breakin a stun removes 1 condition.
  • Dead or Alive: Becomes Embrace nirvana: Gain the ability to leave berserk mode, upon leaving berserk mode you consume your adrenaline, gain health (300 HP per adrenaline point), regeneration and retaliation for 5 seconds.
  • Eternal Champion: Take reduce damage while in berserk mode (10 %). Breaking a stun gives you 3 might stacks for 10 seconds and ‘Unstoppable’. Unstoppable: impairing moving conditions take no effect on you (3 seconds).

RAGE SKILLS:

  • Blood Recogning: is now a stun break with no cast time and it last for 8 seconds. 25% of outgoing damage is converted into healing (this also includes CONDITION DAMAGE).
  • Sundering leap: becomes Enraged: (This skill can be casted by holding the skill button, up to 3 seconds), for each second you are casting Enraged you gain 10 adrenaline points, while casting enraged you take 50% less damage and you absorb 25% of the damage dealt to allies in a 300 radius. if enraged is casted for 3 seconds you ‘Enrage’ dealing damage and healing you for 50% damage you have taken and absorbed from allies (300 radius up to 3 targets, this ability cannot crit). Also stuns you for 2 seconds.
  • Wild blow: Reduce the cast time and the cooldown, remove the 100% crit chance, this ability now knock foes out of their boons, removing 2 boons.
