I have almost the same rig as Kappell, I can recommend following settings for wvw on 2440p resolution:
Everything on High except:
Reflections – Land and sky only (less load on cpu when near water)
Shadows – Low (helps a lot, again less load on CPU in big fights)
Character model limit – High (Highest slows a lot down on 3x server blob fights)
Character model quality – Low (again massive improve in FPS for large fights)
Effect LOD must be ticked

The following setting depends your preference but I have
Vertical Sync – OFF
and Frame limiter to 63 FPS
That way if nothing is happening its limited to 63FPS and PC is silent.. when it drops below, the CPU is cool enough to allow longer Turbo so the FPS drops are not so often happening..

crashing every five minutes. Interesting is that the game still runs until I close the error! So the error is not so bad to crash the game when it continues…

Not fun to play game like that..

Im playing GW2 since beta and day one and more and more time passes I feel that there is no really enjoyable, funny and rewarding progress in the game anymore…

I hope something will change or…..

First year was the best. Every two weeks or once per month a big event going on, story was getting deeper and event content was tied to the story..

Second year , still very good, a lot of changes ingame, wvw was full on all maps at all times (at least on my server) , many guilds actively playing.. although megaserver system destroyed the uniquness of going to LA and chatting with people sharing the same server and same languages and same wvw content.. but on lowlvl maps it helped.

But then something has changed.
Events got recycled, no interesting story added, wvw died, dungeons died, pvp got very hard to play for casuals like me as well as raids are too time consuming = undoable without grinding for hours..
While the real grinders left the game in the first year when finding out there is no hard end content…
So the few casuals that stayed dont have anything valuable to do now…

So what is left? Emmmm…..

Looking at my guildies disapperaring one by one it looks like Im not alone with this mindset… and I dont want to give up like that.
But do I have a choice?
Is there any better multiplayer mmo out there with similar mechanics? i dont see one..

Im stuck and bored. :’(

( ps. casuals are usually those that work in the day to have fun in the evening, so ppl that have money to donate)

My guild (wich is love for it’s people, not truly another reason), doesn’t do serious pvp, and most pvp guilds require full time representing. I still haven’t found pvp guild advertisement that is open to ‘sometimes pvp playing’ people.

Exactly. Also most PVP guilds are looking only for ranks 70+ / soon only diamond players.

And with the added PVP icon showing up in PVE/WvW , why would anyone go for unranked or open arena matches?
All PVErs want to look like the best in all areas somany randoms will play solo at least until January 26th.

As always whenever some new stuff came out, the people who played 24/7 in the first weeks got a massive advantage over those who came later to the game or who cannot afford to play more than two hours per day..
All others coming later have to farm x times harder in Tyria to get to the same stage like others..

My suggestion – farm your tyria masteries in COF ASAP because it is likely to get nerfed in the next weeks, since “it was not intended to work like that” in the first place….
(After I get all my Tyria masteries to 100%) I suggest the devs to limit events even more, so the others cannot level up as fast as I did

Hey, I have just last week bought the pc that you want:
i7 4790k
16gb Ram
ssd 256GB
gtx980ti
and a new lcd , resolution 2560×1440.

Since then I play everything totally maxed out incl supersampling and effect LOD disabled and I the lowest I can get is 18fps on karka boss with loads of players and massive effects (because of effect lod). In pvp I get around 150fps without vertical sync, altough i play with v-sync usually because I hate tearing.
I think your pc is fine except the CPU. I dont think you need to rebuild anythin else unless you have a 4K monitor…

How can I buy 6x pieces of Superior Rune of the Dragonhunter?
Cant find it anywhere.. just got one piece of armor with this rune from a quest but its not salvagable.

Same here… i played today like 10 hours but got like 30 crashes. When I just stand somewhere or do dungeons no crashes occur. But when I join a commander with 20+ ppl around, or any boss on the new maps, it crashes immediately. Sometimes with an arenanet error, sometimes it just freezes and i need to kill the process.
My PC is Win7 64bit , Nvidia gtx980ti.

p.s.: my GF also playing but with an AMD 7950 card has the same issues and crashes but only like 3-5 times compared to my 30.

I had the same problem yesterday with my guardian. But it got fixed somehow over night and now everything works as usual.

also stuck. even with different characters. even when i get kicked due to inactivity i land back in the old map on pvp.

Hi,

will HoT be available in the ingame Gem store in the future?

I think this would convince a few players to buy it with Gems rather then paying the game only with a credit card online.

I hope this can be arranged in the near future
(Like ie. the Digital Deluxe Edition is also available ingame)

Edit: Just tried it again, and the increase in boon duration trait for staff actually works, but the tooltips dont update on the skills. Would like to see this fixed still .. Thanks

Same here in Lions Arch. Happened when i wanted to go to mad kings labyrinth. since then I cannot log on to my character.

Since the update (26.2.) I have very often stuttering and skill-lags. Since today from around 5-6pm I cant play at all. Superior lags up to 10seconds and disconnects all the time. There is no way to play this game atm.
Other games work well.

I am from Czech Republic and server is Desolation EU.

I have the same issue with superior rune of the nightmare.

I have a Necromancer and when I take food with condition duration then I can see the difference in the stats and also the time on the conditions is longer but when I take off my armor with this runes (5/6) then nothing happens, the condition time does not change.
