This is what happened during SEA led by Sfeeee. I think the bigger issues are 1) allowing enemies rallying freely and 2) not taking advantage of the RI buff to re-rally after a wipe. Whether you guys had enough people I’ll let each viewer of the video decide individually.

For #1, I should not have been kept alive for so long. I was rallying too many times and I think the BG zerg needs to focus on moving their uplvls away from the center of the battle.

For #2, BG didn’t make use of the RI buff. The fact that they tried to push us after capping the tower (instead of running) tells me that they did want to fight. But after we wiped them, we sat in the tower for almost 3 minutes, and then took it without any resistance. There should be plenty of time to re-rally at their keep and push us out. Especially when their WP is not contested and everything in EB is just a short walk away.[/quote]

Yes sadly we have been lacking in the tactics dept lately I’ve also noticed, But you also have to remember when a server gets more pvers than W3ers in wvw at times this will happen. But thank you for the constructive criticism, whether its asked for or not it normally makes us a better server/opponent.

Because our server chat is private to OUR server, but in this case your posting what BL your on, our numbers, but even worse the chat contains info about a mesmer going to hide in the keep thats about to flip as it happens. Just get in the habit of editing all chat even if you dont think its important.

Yep, It was me.

I was using FGS to damage the gate as fast as possible but I ’’bugging’’ inside tower. And I immediately jump out after that, I neither try to kill BG nor siege inside that tower.

The last time I saw you do it was right before the gate went down (T3 Sunny), but you weren’t the reason it flipped so easily, and it wasn’t what Mez was referring to. I think some time afterwards, it flipped again very quickly, and (supposedly) without any siege. I don’t really know what happened there.

Maybe… A class with the ability to portal people was hiding in the tower? No…. Too far fetched. More reasonable explanation is one ele hacked/glitches past the gate… It would take an ele ages to successfully solo a keep lord and survive.

Sunny was swept after we got it back and before it suddenly turned red, and yes that included above lord room on the dome. But anyways we’ll win still.

What happened on BGBL with sunny changing red in under 30seconds was out of order, your just lucky the BG map didnt want to fight fire with fire. [TID] sort it out, dont know what server you xfered from but pls dont pull stunts like that again.

I participated for 6 hours per day in the first three weeks on my server (blackgate) then had to stop playing the rest of season due to having 21 credit hours this semester.

I came back today after my finals with only half the achievements done for the chest and nothing to show really for the 3 weeks I fought to make sure we would have a lead.

No chest for me is fine I don t really care about gear and those silly rewards but I would have liked a title for having been part of the people who helped. I didn t switch server and I played a lot for just under half the season but I will get nothing but pride for keeping our #1 place rank.

kinda sucks if you ask me that only people who were able to play everyday for hours and complete all the achievements got something. My point is that what makes people who spent more time following a karma train once the season was basically worth worth more than people who thought teeth and nails at the start?

I would hope the Anet looks at their stats. The organization of this season was a disaster. Giving easy weeks to JQ was not acceptable but they still got beaten. There is so much potential for doing some really cool stuff in wvw but you guys seem to want to apply PVE rewards to a WVW game.

I personally do not care about minis and gear or gold. I want something fun like an armory online that would show more server stats and players stats with best wvw players etc. That way guilds could see who are the valuable players. I think you should build server scoreboards for wvw and introduce bounties and merc contracts etc…

Sorry for being off topic. My point is I wish EVERYBODY on the server that participated even if they did not manage to finish all achieves would have something to show for it like a small title.

Dont be shocked if they start selling wvw “reward” chest keys in the Gem Store.

Totally agree those rewards are completely not worth the extra time.

Finishers should be perm for a season, something more worth while like ascended item/s, Black lion keys? extra wvw ranks? badges of honor? nope we get stuff we would get anyway in 30mins in pve (apart from 250 finishers and mini).

You create 2+ hrs queues in wvw for us reg W3’ers on BG by starting the season,

One map i got in after 5 mins, another was instant. This is unheard of for BG on reset night we normally have 1-3hr+ queues before the seasons, its now dead…

If we dont see some kind of change coming to WvW season chests you will not only put of the pvers but also the reg W3’ers like myself. Tbh I played no matter what before the seasons but after this first season like many others i feel cheated by this “reward chest loot”.

The seasons got more people to come to wvw, thats for sure, then these “rewards” got them running as far as they can from wvw like Orr….

bear in mind these codes were leaked guys, the armor may not even be finished yet or those codes maybe from skins that anet have already dropped and working on better ones. And if that isnt the case I’m sure anet have seen the feedback on the forums and will change the armors anyway now. Just wait it out until the codes are released offically.

I believe Ascended gear should be removed from PvP. It creates the typical “Grind to Win” scenario that is so common in other MMO/Games.

I feel that Arena Net created an amazing PvP game with Guild Wars 1 and they should stick to how things were run. I also predict a very certain power creep for Melee classes like Warriors/Thiefs who benefit so much from weapon power as opposed to classes like Mesmers/Necromancers, this will create a distinct imbalance between these classes that will be compensated by 1) Nerfing the Warrior/Thief/Guardian/Ranger and effectively screwing players who don’t have Ascended armor on these characters; OR 2) Not nerfing them and creating a huge gap in power between “Physical DPS” classes and “Magic” users.

WvWvW players like to PvP, but any PvP’er will do everything in their power to achieve an advantage over the enemy, the important thing for most PvP players is winning (yes they have fun too but winning is the most important), pretty soon we will have fully ascended players in WvWvW which will make it unplayable for people who don’t have hundreds of hours to dedicate to a single character in order to equip them with full ascended armor, I believe the weapons cost 200g each, the trinkets/accessories using Laurels would take almost a year to get and the back piece is not even available, and that’s assuming you do your daily every single day. Fractals should not be required to play PvP competitively.

WvWvW players already have to spend ~50+g on Runes + exotics to remain competitive, I believe that’s enough as you should naturally accumulate that gold levelling your character and doing a few dungeons along the way, a lot of people will say ascended armour makes no difference but if we assume both zergs are of equal skill, the zerg that is fully ascended will always beat the non ascended zerg that has 5-10% less stats, it’s the same thing as putting a level 80 zerg vs a upleveled zerg, which zerg do you think will win? And don’t get me started on roaming/sniping groups fully ascended vs non ascended people, in the law of averages, we have to assume everyone is at the same skill level so the person who is better geared will win. Could a pro player beat a fully ascended “newb”? Of course, but pro players a very rare and they don’t make up the average WvWvW in our realm. Heck, my realm is full of PvE players (Desolation) so if anything Ascended gear is awesome as the sheer power of these people will carry me but I still believe these items should not be implemented in this game mode.

Solution: It’s simple, just scale Ascended gear to Exotic stat level upon entering a Borderland. I believe fair play should be encouraged and “grind to win/pay to win” (crafting) should not be encourage or allowed in PvP, this is not World of Warcraft and I believe the fair play/balanced gear model from Guild Wars 1 was perfect and it should be encouraged not scrapped. If I wanted to go “3 Shot noobs with overpowered gear” I’d go back to WoW and grind RBGs to 2200.

WvW is NOT classed as PvP, I do see your point however but but then again they would need to remove all ascended gear, all foods, all backpacks (cos not everyone has one or rare one etc). They would also need to fix uplevels giving them full skill points to unlock their skills and allow them to use level 80 gear. Also they would need to fix skill/game lag due to their useage of old gw1 servers in gw2, remove all bugs and exploits and balance all classes, as well as removing Legendarys weps. And after they’ve done all that they then need to ban all players with good pings and cpu’s etc. None of which they will ever do as well we all know.

Yup before i logged JQ and SoR had hit BG heavy on all maps we were down to 4 camps across all maps and 1 tower and 1 keep. So yup clear there was a truce since both servers hit BG at the same time on all maps. Normally JQ still lose out when they did passed truces with SoR, this time it was SoR that lost out and slipped to 3rd.

Only last week BG finally got a guy perma banned for that, thanks to a dev spotting him walking lems off a cliff.

Am i not correct in saying [FEAR] is a SoR based guild? but in any case thats a screenshot from the lobby, so i dont think they’re spying per say. That said there is prob spys on all servers TS servers again this weekend at least, while free trial has been extended. Anet should make it clear to everyone who is using a free trial account by maybe having the letters FT against there names. That way we could weed out the potential spys from our TS, while still letting Free trial ppl still try out wvw.

Like i said you can’t honestly tell me BG losing 8hrs in W3 to close the gap didnt harm us. I really dont see why you’re even trying to argue the fact SoR wasn’t at a advantage because of the patch screwup and W3 downtime.

BG gained more of an advantage having the outage rather than not having it. As Brutus said, that lead should be much greater right now.
