Nah statues you gotta pay for, gemstore exclusive.
My only issue with spellbreaker is i feel that Full Counter does to much, it’s on a 6 second cd (when traited) gives stability, resistance (when traited), stuns, blocks an attack, gives an evade frame, is unblockable, and crits for like 4k with a demolisher ammy.
IMO that is way to usefull to be on a 6s cd.
Didn’t even make the ranger rankings #feelsbadman
I like making duplicate threads to raise awareness
yeah ranger pets are broken too lol, our class is legit unplayable in pvp right now.
If you’re in combat and swap pets, all the pets proceed to do nothing for 3 seconds after the swap, they don’t attack, you can’t use their skills, they just stand there. I’m guessing this wasn’t intentional as the traits that give buffs on pet swap are now completely worthless as they expire on your pet before it does anything.
So since wvw is getting gliding only seems fair that PvP should too, I think adding Ley-Line gliding to pvp maps would really improve gameplay and balance.
Like this is going to happen in the monthly tournament finals, and cost some team 1st place, and it will be entirely your fault.
Like this has been in the game for 3 months now and literally costs games. It’s like effectively having one person on your team DC. A close game that could have gone either way immediately becomes a loss for whoever’s team has a teammate that gets knocked into the wall. Khylo is by far the worst map that it happens on, but I’ve seen it happen on temple and forest as well.
If it’s just like rubber banding and jittery movement in like the area of a capture point, it’s probably lag. When you see a warrior teleport to you from across the map then it’s hacking.
Ithilwen I’m sorry but you are the minority in this arguement. AT’s are supposed to cater to the elitests who want competition, the worst players who don’t put in the effort don’t deserve the rewards. Does your boss pay you for a 40 hour work week when you only work 10? Doubt it.
The casual playerbase isn’t asking for AT’s to be accessible, if you want to enter with 4 other pugs and basically solo queue a strictly team mode game that’s your own choice but you cant expect to do well. It’s like bringing your stock mini van to a race track and expecting to win. It’s illogical.
You’ve deleted half your posts in this thread because the community is continuously tearing you apart as you constantly make comments trying to make a competitive game mode less competitive.
Yeah the house might always win lol, but playing on house money isn’t at all what you said it was.
You’re playing with house money. That means, yup, the house always wins.
But playing with house money means you have nothing to lose, you can take big risks because you’re playing with the house’s money not your own. It means the casino has either given you money to play with, or you are so far ahead that you have nothing to lose. It’s the complete opposite of the house winning lol.
How do you get decapped by a bunker rev? They literally have like 1 knockback. They are also not that hard to push off a point. Legit the only thing that class can do is keep itself alive. They offer zero team support and do zero damage.
That shoutbow build that you’re using is really good at small skirmishes and all right for team fights. Druid has some support but no where near the level that elementalist has. As such its usually better for us to roam as we have access to perma swiftness and the staff #3 skill we can get around the map quite easily. Our 1v1 potential on sides nodes is really good as we can take a 1v1 with just about everything in the game and be successful. We are also quite good at decaping as we can knock our target off the point then immobilize them off the point for a free decap.
The biggest thing about playing druid is that you have to be good at kiting. While fighting on the point is good at times druid excels at moving around their target and keeping them locked down. With our easy access to stealth from CA and longbow #3 we can disengage, reposition ourself, knock our target somewhere, then lock them down with immobilize while our bristleback’s F2 skill does 50% of our targets hp. Your main source of burst damage is going to be from that skill.
As for druids role in the game, based on the build that you are running you should probably cap home at the start, or push far. Druid is really good at pushing far at the start of the game because you can keep the point decapped and kill most of what tries to cap in a 1v1. Or if they send multiples to you, you can disengage from the fight really easily. Throughout the game you want to mainly be watching for enemies to push your side nodes as you are going to be responsible for defending them. You can be at mid helping that fight, then break off and get back to your home before the enemy can get there. Then either win the 1v1 or stall long enough until you can get a +1.
My favorite thing to do on druid is just sit on the enemy’s home and make them send 2 to 3 people to me and just run around popping in and out of stealth keeping them all occupied while the rest of my team caps the other 2 points. If you can hold an outnumbered fight on druid for an extended period of time that will help your team out a lot. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions and I would be happy to help.
Hey Arenanet could you clarify how these rewards are distributed? Specifically for the Kormir’s Clash tournament, are the rewards per player? Or is the 500g distributed evenly among the team?
Did you guys know 95% of statistics are made up on the spot?
idk probably has something to do with the fact that you need over half of the 5 players to be considered a team, anything less than 3 you could have 2 teams on Red/Blue in one game….which doesn’t work for obvious reasons.
So healing signet regen is pretty low, all of warrior’s healing these days comes from the trait adrenal health. The signet is basically like a panic button when they get condi bombed as it gives them resistance . Other heals the other warrior has all rely on you or your opponent doing something in order to proc the heal. For example Blood Reckoning heals for a lot but requires you to land damage, if your opponent sees that and runs away from you, you effectively get no healing. Same goes for Defiant Stance, in order to maximize that heal your opponent has to damage you while it is cast. This makes it rather difficult to successfully pull of your heal in PvP
Most warriors take the signet for the passive healing stat bonus because it synergizes really well with adrenal health and the resistance on cast, they don’t take it for the actual regen it has.
I think the issue is that the fact that people can’t maintain a good rating by doing well in the first ten-twenty games and then playing the minimum required to prevent decay is exposing the flaws in the system that make it virtually impossible to maintain a good rating if you play regularly.
It’s not impossible, i usually play 2 to 3 games a day and this entire season I’ve been hovering around the 100-130 mark on the leaderboards. If you maintain like kitten win rate you should be able to hold your spot.
I think that’s his point…. You play the minimum to stay on the boards which is a couple games a day as opposed to s1-4 where people played 30+ a day. The system encourages people to play less to look more skilled which is sort of an oxymoron in itself.
From that pic I can respect Rarnark and Tivez though, they are the true PvP players.
Yeah but even only playing that I still have like 200 games played this season, people can’t play 30+ games a day anymore because they have to make a living now without esports. People also don’t want to play a lot because our games for the most part aren’t even fun, 7 out of 10 of my games have players so far below my skill level that I can just sit far and farm them. When you’re playing druid and you drop an engi in about 5 seconds something is wrong.
ESL was basically what was holding the high tier players in the game. We wanted competition, ESL was that competition. The goal of forming a competitive team was to be able to play in ESL. But because they dropped it now we literally have no competitive incentive at all to form a team. This game is 100% solo queue with no competition drive now.
It’s because the entire group of high MMR players quit. There are less than 250 people left in this game with high MMR. So when you’re on the leaderboards and no one queues you get matched with people in silver and if your team is so bad that you can’t carry you lose 20 rating and if you win you get 5 rating, which is why no one is in Legendary.
By all means if the players in Gold and Silver learned a few things to boost their own gameplay and rating and actually tried to be competitive instead of just talking trash every game and refusing to play as a team. Legit had a thief tell me to kill myself when I asked if he could go decap far….. So yeah when the community has become this kitten what do you expect lol?
It still baffles me Ithilwen how you have such a terrible win rate with the number of games you have played. Like do you just refuse to learn why you lose? And keep making the same mistakes over and over and over and just never getting better at the game?
I’ve seen your play in game, it’s not that great. You spend way to much time making posts on the forums about how stuff is OP instead of thinking “Hmm how can I beat this”? I know you play some weird Mesmer build because you think the meta is lame, but when you lose this many games can you really tell yourself with confidence that your build is working?
Like legit if you cant figure it out on your own I will duel you repeatedly and dissect your gameplay/build. Because clearly whatever you are trying is not working lol.
Yeah, the playerpool is so small right now that you get about the same as you win and lose all the way through gold, once you push top 100 on the leaderboards you start getting like 8 per win and -15 per loss
No, the game runs on dedicated servers, unless someone in your game was directly attacking those servers they have no way of giving you “lag”. Lag switches don’t work in the GW2 environment, the lag you experienced by “bots” was purely coincidence. The servers were hit recently by an attack so they could still very well not be operating at a full 100% hence the skill lag.
Anet you seriously need to fix this. This happens constantly where one team legit gets every single high duo and the other team doesn’t get any. This game would have been way closer had you split the duo’s.
Anet you put me in a match of all 1200 players….I’m 1620 I was only in queue for 10 seconds. Please fix your game.
For someone who claims to be the best rev in the game you really don’t understand why people quit lol. Yeah balance could be better, but it’s really not that bad. The top players quit because there is no competition. There is no competition because there are no tournaments. Solo queue and the leaderboards are supposed to be what solo players use to get recognized by teams playing in tournaments. But we have no tournaments now let alone a team queue. And with all the exploiting that happened last season on the leaderboards yeah people quit because there is no reason to play at a high level when the competitive environment does not exist.
Can we give ranger dual longbows? I think it would really shake up the meta and make other builds viable. Like thief gets dual pistols so we should get a dual ranged option as well.
So I was top 50 for a while, couldn’t get a single game against anyone else in the top 50 for the life of me. Decide to just tank my rating cause I’m not having fun, drop out of the top 250. Immediately when I get out of the top 250 I get put into games with duos in the top 25. Are you kidding me anet like for real you need to hotfix this.
I have a little over 7000 games played and am currently 42 on the NA leaderboards.
I placed low tier gold I believe when the season started and climbing out of that was a little annoying but manageable. Plat my games started to improve and once I hit top 250 I got a few good games while the leaderboard players were actually playing.
A few questions for you:
1. What do you want from PvP? Are you only here for the rewards? Are you here because you want competitive games?
2. How much time do you want to invest into PvP
3. Do you actually enjoy playing PvP, both winning and losing?
I’m assuming you’re not here for the rewards based on your post haha. And you’re clearly not finding those competitive games yet. I myself am a very competitive person. When I started PvP in this game I got my butt handed to me over and over and I hated that. I hated losing every 1v1 I took. So I worked to fix it, I dueled everything over and over and over until I could consistantly beat it. Then once I started winning the majority of my 1v1’s I was still upset that we were losing so I started focusing on map rotations, what 1v1’s should I take or not take, where should I be in the next 20 seconds, how many enemies are alive right now, where are they on the map?
I hate losing so I pushed myself until I could start winning not just 50% of my games but more like 60%. That was what kept me going. This was all back in solo queue too. Solo queue is very different than playing on with a team. In my honest opinion trying to climb as a support in solo queue is going to be really hard. I find it much easier to “carry” (for lack of a better term) on a roamer who can kill stuff really well than anything else. If your team isn’t performing well against the enemy the best thing you can do is kill the enemy before they kill your team. No amount of healing/support is going to win that team fight if your teammates don’t know how to interrupt and capitalize to get the kill.
Winning 1v1’s isn’t everything but it definitely helps a lot when you can consistantly do it in solo queue. Like I can push far at the start of all my games and with 99% certainty of winning that 1v1 and capping that point. So that immediately let’s my team start with a 2 cap (assuming home didn’t get kitten on) even if the mid fight goes super south.
TLDR: You’re going to lose a lot of games, don’t be upset with losing even if you had a spirit guardian who just talked kitten the entire match and contributed nothing. Always be thinking about what you can do. It’s inevitable you will get bad teammates, the trick is learning how to use them without making them feel used.
Yeah the toughness is a passive effect, so when you use the signet, you lose the passive effect.
I like to start my mornings with a cup of coffee and excess amounts of salt lol. Nah if you’re around late tonight or tomorrow all day hop in TS and I can fill you in.
Nox get your kitten back in GW2 you nerd.
Compared to previous seasons this season is quite refreshing but I would like to see a few minor balance changes on some classes for next season. Currently hovering between 60-70 on the leaderboard this will be primarily based around those queues and what I’ve noticed from solo queuing.
Guardian
-I think the amount of blinds this class puts out is a little silly, would like to see blind removed from at least one of their skills
-I still feel that the DH healing trap heals for too much on too short of a CD for the amount of blocks they have access to. Either increase the cd, or decrease the healing.
Druid
-I would like to see ancient seeds get a longer ICD, perhaps 15 seconds?
Thief
-D/D condi and Vault Spam need to go, these two builds while not really OP are incredibly unhealthy for PvP. No one wants to fight a class that only has to spam 1 skill to be effective. Perhaps increase the initiative cost on Death Blossom and Vault so they can’t spam it quite as much.
-I don’t think the Unhindered Combatant dodge should remove immobilize, as it is currently there isn’t really any class that can pressure thief on a map except another thief. If landing an immob on thief was actually possible I think it would open opportunities for other classes to pressure it.
Sure you can ignore teamfights, but then the thief is really going to shine in those small skirmishes. Hence why I think the combo is so strong.
But DH doesn’t pressure the thief, they can sit on a cap yeah, but then the thief just goes elsewhere.
Just my opinion, but in the high tiers I seem to notice games are much harder not having these two classes on your team vs a team that does have them. Ele is such good team support and thief really cant be pressured on the map anymore except by another thief. Post your thoughts.
I can only imagine that bronze/silver players getting matched with say plat is because they are duo’d with someone in plat. The only other thing I can think of is players with artificially high mmr from last pvp season are still in the process of falling into the bracket where they belong.
It depends on how different your team’s MMR is compared to the opposing team’s MMR.
EG1: your team MMR is 1700, opposing team is 1600. You win, you gain 30.
EG2: your team MMR is 1700, opposing team is 1680. You win, you gain 10.(numbers may not be exact, or may be reversed)
If your team MMR is lower than the opposing team’s MMR, and you win, you gain more. If you lose, you won’t lose much. If your team’s MMR is larger than the opposing team’s and you lose, you’ll lose more MMR.
How much you gain or lose depends on your team’s MMR, opposing team’s MMR, and whether or not you win or lose.
But then like shouldn’t games I win that are complete blow outs give me 30? Cause I’ve won a match like 500-10, and got 15 mmr for it.
Finished placement games, put me t2 gold, was winning and getting ~30 mmr per win. Hit T3 gold, games still feel super easy, getting ~10 mmr per win. I don’t understand Anet.
Yeah bring back Minstrel’s Druid so I can 1v5 for the whole game and nothing can kill me xD
It’s so easy to 100-0 rev it is ridiculous.
You have a shield, glint’s heal, staff evades, your evades, staff block.
The stab is unreliable since u have no control over when it is up
You literally get stability on dodge.
The lack of condi mitigation just allows it to be destroyed by anything that can consistently dish out conditions.
Last I checked if you run Mallyx you have free access to resistance.
The duration and access to evades has been lowered.
Well you have your two evades, then some staff evade frames and blocks, then the Shiro utility evades, and the sword 3 evades….Yup no evades.
Yeah this class is total kitten, lets give it permanent stability and resistance, give it 30k hp, and buff the dps so you can crit for 16k autos. Having counter play in this game is dumb. The true master race should have no counter play at all.
can I have your stuff?
Let’s begin with the concept of what Ranked Arena should be. Ranked Arena should be the place reserved for competition. If you’re queuing ranked you want fun competition that pushes your skills as a player. You are here for the competition and that alone, not the fancy rewards that have been attached to this game mode. That being said if you are a 4 or 5 man team looking for competition in this current system you rarely find it. Most of the time you will just roll every single team that isn’t a 4 or 5 man. Maybe 1 in 10 games you will find another premade that is actually on a level playing field with you. If you are a team looking for competition you should be skirmishing other teams near your skill level, entering amateur tournaments (AG Cups), and pushing yourself and your team’s ability to work together. Not steamrolling through a bunch of randoms for a free ride to Legendary. The current system isn’t really bad with the whole pugs vs. premade thing, the problem lies with the fact that players trying to form new competitive teams have no way of finding good players in this system (short of posting on the forums and hoping for the best).
Before when Solo & Team Queues existed (possibly the healthiest PvP has ever been in this game) competitive teams could simply look at the Solo Q leader boards pick someone in the top 50 and expect them to be better than average at the game if they needed to fill spots on their roster. This was great for teams looking to get competitive but didn’t quite have the manpower for it.
This is why we are pushing so hard right now for solo/duo queues. This system if implemented correctly would eliminate the current team leaderboards that have the same 10 teams every season and actually give the good players a chance at being in the spotlight, combine this with the proposed matchmaking changes and Season 5 might actually be one of the best PvP seasons this game has seen in a very long time. Where you see someone in Legendary and can tell yourself with confidence “They are probably a good player.”
If you are that guild group of 5 people who just wants to play PvP “for fun” and doesn’t care about competition. I’m sorry to shatter your reality but that just doesn’t belong in Ranked. And if you’re a premade who actually wants competition and think you will find it random queuing ranked you need to retake your statistics course.
Case in point, every single ESL team is skirmishing each other not queuing ranked and hoping they will just happen to get queued against some other team that can fight them.
That’s the end of my rant, feel free to discuss.
Don’t try to kill the ranger pet, you will never succeed. If it was a druid you need to pressure the druid and watch for the 2 animations that actually do damage from the pets (the smokescale assault, and the bristleback f2 burst). Focus on avoiding both of those while pressuring the druid. Those are the only two skills that let a druid kill stuff. They usually happen right after the druid swaps their pet.
My ruby queues were quite fun, ESL players in most of the games, prominent names, twitch streamers, people who basically knew how to play. Most of my matches were fun and competitive. I hit diamond with ~60% win rate. Then my queues turned into complete garbage, no one knows how to rotate, people lose matchups they should win, the team loses a 3v2, etc. It feels like diamond queues should actually be emerald queues. Seriously Anet what gives? Why is a higher division filled with players of lower skill than the previous division? Something is clearly wrong.
Looking for diamonds with 58%+ win ratios to queue to legend with, have a good attitude, minimal salt, only constructive criticism. I main druid (4,400 games on ranger), can also play scrapper and rev decently well, not nearly as good as I am with druid though. Shoot me a message in game if you’re interested or just leave a reply here.
