I think there probably is some thread for suggestions an such, but a lack of time makes me prioritize other things.
simple suggestion for a MAJOR gold sink.
Offer the expansion for gems.
I know that it’s probably to late and that the community would riot if it was introduced right now.
but please consider adding it in the future. (of course the gem cost would have to be greater than the $ cost)

Why would people complaining change the balance?
Any good game dev. won’t listen to the forum masses. they will look at forums, sure. but they will base their decisions on stats.
and people will only bother complaining if it gives you some kind of reward.
if you can’t gain ANYTHING from it, people won’t care as much.

The same type of thing happened in WoW when they added arenas to a system that wasn’t balanced for very small pvp encounters.
The reason people complained was because of the major rewards and tournaments available to arenas. I’ve only ever heard a couple of people even talking about dueling balance in WoW. and of those handful i can only remember one complaining, but then again he botted things more than he played the game.

there is no constructive critic against the idea except that it might change the game.
exactly why would it do that? (except for the obvious change of a new game mode and more content)

I would like an option to remove the information posted at the lower part of loading screens once you have completed that area.
I would also like an option to hide wold completion rate from the map. but that isn’t as important.

Edit: would also be nice if you had the alternative to choose your towns outfit…
interesting idea. but i would rather see a “monthly rotation” of say three dungeons.
Edit: didn’t read the reward bit. don’t agree with that. i would rather see some kind of dungeon tokens that can be traded in at any dungeon vendor, and not to much of it.

As much as i would like to see it…. i don’t think this is a good idea.
for one simple reason. clipping issues.
I haven’t read the entire thread…
but from a game design perspective it would be idiotic.
the world isn’t made to be traversed by use of mount. it’s to dense. to much water. to much mobs.
and it would take the feeling of being in danger away in some areas. (thinking of Orr, that place is “amazing” because it takes skill to get trough it alone)
if Orr was like every other zone….. it wouldn’t be Orr anymore.
I might be alone in my opinion, but I like that it’s a place where it takes skill/friends to survive.
respawn rate is a little bit odd sometimes thou. not short or long just “varied”. (I have seen the same mob die once only to come back 15 sec later one time. and an other to not come back at all (at least for the 3-4 min i was standing in the area chatting))
If the game isn’t balanced 1v1 then people will complain when one class dominates another in duels. That will affect the balance of the entire game… so no.
who cares it’s another way to have fun with friends
So the community will just accept it if they add dueling and it’s incredibly unbalanced? Of course not.
I think you are wrong, at least to some extent.
I’ve played many games with dueling, and sure there are people complaining over balance. but I think that the group that enjoy dueling and focus on that aspect of the game isn’t in it for the balance. they are there to have fun. to challenge their skills against a stronger class. to spar with friends.
And i know for a fact that i like that imbalance. it makes it interesting.

Does it state “reason 20”, or does it explicitly say “the use of a third party program”?

don’t think that this topic belongs here…
but i haven’t been playing at all…. i have been studying… (the heavy play right at launch left me 2-3 days behind in my schedule, something that i have corrected by now)
so i tried to login today again. (just to see if there had been any update to the ban/suspend message)
to my great surprise it had changed. it now states that i got banned because of reason “20”
I’m just looking to see if my suspicion is correct that the number corresponds with the numbering of issues in Rules of conduct
would be great if this was the case… (not that i have been accused of botting, but that i acually now can update my ticket with relevant information)

The story so far…
It all began when I got banned.
The game stated that I broke the rules of conduct and/or the user agreement.
So I submitted a ticket. (lacking information, but a ticket non the less)
I submited an updated variation yesterday.
And logged in today trough my phone to see if anything had changed… And to my great surprise it had! It had the status updated… And a new title. Turns out that the new title was the entire update.
The previous title was something along the lines of “why was I banned”?
The new one was called “violation appeal”.
I admit I don’t know a lot about the appeal/law/etc. systems…
Sure I want to get into the game again, but first and foremost I want to know why I was banned. Not actually fight the decision.
I’m just wondering if anyone else have experienced anything similar..

I just tried to login and my plan was to update my ticket with new information. (things that i missed. not new developments)
however after login in to the site and getting the captcha the screen didn’t load my already existing ticket.
after writing a new ticket with the missing information and adding the dissaperence of my old ticket problem i went back to double check that i had gotten everything correct.
to my great surprise there where nothing there, knowing that opera sometime have problems… i tried to login through chrome instead…
no problems. now it shows both my tickets….
might be a good idea to add something to the site that either prevents people from using opera, or adding support for it.

p.s.
I only have one extension and it’s “auto patchwork”. and since i have it on both chrome and opera i don’t think it should be the problem.

Also I think the wording on the login screen have changed from yesterday… (if my memory serves me right it mentioned character names last time I checked)
Funny thing that I now suddenly get verification emails when I press login to see the “error” screen….
But after reading the user agreement there are a couple of things that I might be accused of aswell:
Copy software – (I copied the game to 3-4 computers so that me and my friends didn’t have to download it again)
Reporting the same guy twice – I wasn’t sure if gold selling was to be reported as spamming, scamming or botting… (this is what I did the 1-4 min before I got kicked out and banned)
Use the game at an Internet café – it’s not an Internet cafe, more of a LAN locale open almost every day of the week. (didn’t know you could get banned for that)
Letting a friend test the game – he have already bought the game… He just wanted to see how the thief played (all character slots he owned where already taken)
Calling my friend(s) by his real name in chat – I only think I did this in party chat, and I don’t really think he minds since I’m fairly certain he did the same thing. We where sitting in the same room and had Skype active to communicate through VoIP while playing so I’m not sure which messages was ingame and which where not…
And none of those things is something that in my mind makes me deserve a permaban…
There are two more things I probably should add while we are at it… I ran up to 2 people ingame (one downed) and ressed him… Without noticing in chat that they said dont ress please
And the last thing I can imagine is that I might have been playing through a VPN service. (don’t think I did this but it’s a possibility)

But I think this isn’t something that should be posted under account issues…
My password is gw2 exclusive.
And my mail requires a second stage verification trough my iPhone. So getting a new mail won’t be necessary.
But I will ask around and see if any of my guildies/friends have seen me online when I shouldn’t be.

I 3-5 min ago logged in to my “account.guildwa…” address.
Because a friend told me to show him that I could still access that page even thou my account is banned…
This is the first time I have recived an authicention email. Ever. (even thou I have logged in from at least 4 locations and 4g)
So I’m right now wondering if I somehow have gotten myself placed into some watched category by logging in from all these different IP:s
Side note: I think it’s somewhat interesting that your forum login is still viable even thou your game account have been banned.
I do admit to having two characters that might be cocidered offensive:
Tearharvester – pvp focused with maybe 5h of playtime (I got the inspiration from massiveley speaking I think)
And
zodiac chimera – this name might be very offensive if you think about it. But this character I only ran the tutorial with. (I also planned on deleting it because I didn’t like the name)
Other names are as follows:
Timid nightingale
Emperor penguin
Flarn
Thou I don’t think any of those make me a target of a permaban (I have seen much worse ingame, and heard of people getting 72h for names I personally felt offended by)
Other things I might be judged by is speaking Swedish in partychat with other Swedish people.
And I politely asked a person to refrain from using Swedish in map-chat. (not realizing I was in overflow)
I have tried to remember more things that. Could be reasons enough, and will continue to reflect on things…. But that is everything I have right now.

Yesterday evening I logged in as normal. Was planing on running the second dungeon with my friend. But I was kicked out thanks to a networking error. (or that’s what it said at least)
It have happend a couple of times before. So no biggie. Tried to login again and Baam! “your account have been permanently suspended”
I submitted a ticket (120904-009218) and did some other useful things instead.
The thing is that I can’t really figure out why. Sure I can admit to “spamming” 3 identical messages in chat when we where looking for our last member to catacombs of ascalon.
And I can admit to running the same DE twice in a row. (thou I thought the reset was because we failed)
And I admit to following a guide to speed up my crafting progression.
Other than that I can’t find a reason. And to me none of those reasons are enough to get permabanned, right?
My biggest problem right now is that I have a signed collectors edition sitting in my bookshelf that reminds me of the problem every time I enter or exit my computer room.
I would simply know what happened.
