About the weapon design contest

Feel free draw the full set, one weapon might stand out as the best for you to put forward as the final piece at the full A4 Size. The templates are thier to make sure u stay in the size guide lines. The photoshop file got them all on seperate layers so you can Turn the others off and scale it up to a4 to save as a final piece.

Each of your 3 designs can be a different weapon with its own theme or same theme. Encase my wording confusing you.

It just one weapon for any of the template weapons you choose. You can submit 3 designs ( all same theme or all different). The devs got make 3 weapons, one from 1st 2nd and 3rd place they not going do 3 full weapon sets.
I would say showing ur stuff off on other sites fine, just make sure u have good proof you original creator if some one steals it before u submit them.

Im making my designs in blender as physical objects and rendering the image out. I have an asura model i made so it nice test the weapon design on a model.

I think this is a brillant comp for the people who love fashion wars 2

Positives:
- Great map design
- mounts feel alive
- Mob design fantastic
- Bounties are intresting
- uni gear is good idea but needs better execution
- Lore is more, keep adding more lore makes world feel alive

Negitives :
- Ai needs more counter play. Give some stealth, boons big attacks to interrupt anything to feel more engaging.
- uni gear neededs blue/green as one type and yellow/orange as another type to take some of the rng out and gold sink.
- Didnt play much because it was a demo and still wanted starting full experience feel fresh.

I expect the full thing will be great with some issues resolved.

Good points:

- nice map size, with varied biomes
- the vine grapple hook is the best thing ever (wish we had it in HOT maps)
- good map bosses this time
- new shoulder piece is really nice
- the world didn’t end

bad points

- map can be confusing to read with the 2d map system
- story was bit short and padded by long travel times (start was good, ending felt rushed)
- not a lot of new enemies
- didn’t like the flying fighting story bits, really annoying
- new legendary is obnoxiously large, the design is a 5/10

big issue with rev is the lack of compatibility of legends(traits) combined with other legends (traits) they so distinct from one another but they want you to legend swap a lot to refill energy. so you then might lose the utility’s that went well with the weapon you was using.

I think they should just get rid of the legend swap completely put the energy regain mechanic into weapon swap (nearly same cd) and just let you mix and match utilitys based on the legend trait lines you have picked.

ventari would be an issues because of tablet utility’s but their would be a way around it I guess.

pretty cool ideas, might want address the traits power creep. them adepts are over tuned a bit and I find people seem to over complicate these class mechanics a lot. if your giving your spec a powerful mechanic with a lot of trait synergy, the traits should be considerably weak to avoid people always taking the trait line. this trait line looks like a good swap for domination line runners if they didn’t want interrupt focused damage.

ppl would run illusions, inspiration and trickster with this. illusions for shatter synergy, inspiration because survival and your trickster line would be the pure damage line.

new Sigils I would like to see
> 2 second protection on block, 15 sec icd
> 5 seconds of fury on weapon swap
> sigil that grants 25% movement speed

put the on interrupt sigils in but put an icd on the boon steal and lifesteal ones of 10 seconds (mesmers and thiefs chain interrupts to easy)

bring in sigil of cleansing I like the remove condition on weapon swap

Overall impressions, not a massive amount of game changing stuff other than ranger pet AI improvements, great sword reaper getting some love and the cap increases to some skills. still thinking the team skirting around the Overturned elite spec issues once again to not cause an outrage to people who brought expansions just for the power creep.
really like the added summon ability’s on Mesmer hope they all get little something over time.
looking forward to seeing if the engi flamerthrower any good now it more condi focused.
also very happy base guard virtues now in pve.

still disappointed rev mayllx trait line not had something done yet since the getting more powerful when having more conditions on you got changed. cant you put a stacking buff that increases condi duration and condi power when you get hit by a condi with a 1 second internal .

I have voted NO because I believe it will not fix anything. I voted no on the solo duo queue because it would change very little. most of the issues with pvp are down to the player base, the competitive game mode and the build diversity of classes.

the player base wont change it will still follow meta builds for classes and pigeon holing classes into one type of play style, people will still rage about balance and losing to better skilled players or lag or team disconnects.

the game mode is flawed as it favours mobile, high damage builds or solid bunker damage mitigation builds. so a team comp with all of one type will struggle without good communication.

build diversity as become a lot less since the heart of thorns elite specs have come in. mainly due to overtuned class mechanics what require a whole trait line to have access to so leaving most ppl then with 2 trait lines and a small choice of traits that have good synergy with the elite spec trait line. also most ppl with pick the elite spec weapon and traits because they were made to be used with the new trait lines, lowering build diversity. (I do believe thou as more of these elite specs are added it will get slightly better)

only the last two options anet can really change, I cant wait see the changes but don’t expect it solve the real issues but I glad they experimenting with the game type shows the pvp team really putting the effort in for the community.

I would love a vanilla queue, i have hot but play only vanilla builds in pvp because i like the challenge. But i only have 2 classes that i can play and thats my condi interrupt burst mesmer and bunker support healing guard. Balance was much better before hot, not perfect but i felt it was getting close then suddenly elite specs through all that out the window. The devs just went over the top with them to sell the expansion and cant really go back now till a new expansion addeds more op choices so ppl have to pick from 2 elite specs at least.

The guardian change seems ok, it nice that they pushing base guard as the healing support spec and dragon hunter as the damage spec. But this dont work with most other elite specs due to them adding mechanics instead of overriding them. You cant fix chrono over base mesmer because you gave it a overpowered mechanic that combined with the core mesmers shatters, you gave daredevils extra dodges and added bonuses to dodges. You gave breserker extra burst skills and let them keep the old ones as well. Necro and guard the only specs that had mechanics swapped out, not added to. These two classes i would say are balanced ( ok base necro shroud needs love) but still hot elite specs broke the game, and anet need to address op mechanics first to put core and elite specs on par before gutting vaiable builds and classes. The rev nerf extreme but at least fix mallyx traitline and make ventari traitline NOT only useful when using tablet.
I will be running core only builds in season 5 in protest.

this ice brood wolf learnt to climb a tree, very impressive AI.

I also had one of the ice broods even scale a non AI pathed area by teleporting to my postion every second as I scaled the cliff. I would say anet got a few AI issues they need sort out with these new AI mechanics they testing.

I think anets fractal team really getting to grasps with the identity of fractals as a middle ground between raids and dungeons. this was most enjoyable. pug group beat it first time tier 3 a few downs and wipes, fun different bosses maybe bit overboard with aoe circles but it did stop us from standing still and auto attacking for long times. bit disappointed was no toxic spore nodes like molten had the mining ones. can you add a small patch that sprout at the fractals final boss kill or after each boss kill would be a bit rewarding and help drop the spore prices a bit on trade.

anyway this was fantastic and my fav fractal but not just because my names nightmare ok maybe a little bit.

the biggest issue team death match suffered from was the spawn killing if one team managed to get a moment of domination they could just push the spawn due to the map size and spawn kill for rest of match.

we need a death match with 4 teams of 3. more teams equals more unpredictable outcomes, the maps should each have a unique powerful weapon bundle pickup that spawns in the map centre that teams can fight over.

don’t bring team death match back unless it, getting a massive overall, if it gets brought back half baked at least put it on its own tick box like stronghold.

it looking that way. killing two dragons in one expansion will help anet catch up for lost time story wise. I cant see us fighting them separate in one expac if I does come to this. looks bad for LA again since it in the middle of fire islands and far shiverpeaks if they decided to come for each other. I don’t think bubbles will ever appear at all as they seem to not want overhaul water combat.

I’ve posted many times in the past that a Battlefield-like system could potentially work well in GW2 PvP. This would mean that:

1. The team with the most number of players on point would start to cap.

2. The cap speed would be greatly reduced if contested.

This might help keep the game from slowing down too much and would allow for larger capture points. It would be nice to also see different terrain on the points like large tombstones on Graveyard that can be used for cover and the like.

Larger capture points would also hopefully help with visibility because you could avoid bunching up. It might make certain builds more viable as well.

Yeah i support that type of system, if you decide to 3 vs 1 someone just to get the cap point faster so you can leave to help the other two on a point. Issues occur if you decide all go as a zerg through each point. But you could fix that by making points slowly degenerate back to netrual if no one on point what will keep forces equally spread out and less static.

I like to think everything she did was for her and she just wanted mordys voice out of her head so she wanted the dragon dead. If we had not killed her i am convinced she was going to use that powerful toxin she created to posion the leyline stream and destroy all the dragons that feed on the ley energy and rule over the world like a typical mad scientist. She could easliy rule without the need of magic in a magicless world with her atherblades and steam creatures that seem to come from a different universe. We will get answers when 4 necros and 1 druid stop killing mai trinn and horrik in level 100 fracts to give them time explain scarlets motives.

They need a special place, thats soul purpose is to store important lore data, artifacts etc guarded by scholars in a mountain with a secret entrance watched by a shifty looking chef.

Anet should just update that room to be a personal lore home instance filling it with cool story items and lore books as the story progress, add video logs and bits of dead dragons in thier. It amazing how much old living story lore lost overtime with very little records in game of it happening.

played since couple days just after launch and got 1 kudu from the forge by throwing random exotic dungeon weapons into it about 3 months ago. i don’t like the legendries anyway so made some nice gold from it.

so 1 in nearly 4 years not bad since i don’t farm a lot or throw loads of rares in the forge to just to get one.

I was playing on my rev in pvp and I noticed more bugs in one match than in my whole pvp time. i staff 5’ed a opponent rezzing and ele and it shot off across the map (it had used mistform already) then i used glints dragon push on a warrior in instantly downed and it stood up in downstate and went into a contant auto running animation into a wall, until a teammate revived him (could not stomp him in standing state) their seems to be something wrong with knockback,pull,lauch skills affecting downed people.

even though this stuff is funny to watch in ranked pvp it not so funny anymore more game breaking.

on a side note for anet i was once sitting emote in edge of the mists waiting for a game to start and as soon as the horn blew for the ready up screen (the one that annoyingly stops u in the middle of typing) it caused my character to jump up and run contently in one direction like what happen to the downstate warrior. so something in the animation transitions is not right at all it like when they get interrupted they go to an auto run animation or just slide away.

if that’s match manipulation, your doing it wrong. normally you would pay the other team to afk so your team gets the win. but you should never give money to people in pvp as it will always be seen as shady, just block the afker and use the new report option and leave the sulking child for anet to deal with.

This just boils down to the fact anet over charge on thier gem store items to compensate for the unreliability of thier income system. In my currency i get 800 gems for £8 that gets me say one outfit every month if i paided that as a subscription. Doesnt look great value does it. Still it just a flawed model and i wouldnt be against an optional sub if it got me more in game gem store stuff at a lower cost. But it just wouldnt work anyway as ppl would juat sub to get the discounts and then un sub till somthing cool pops up in the store again. Subs only really work for restricting access to stuff and this game not that. I think accounts should get 10% off gem stuff for each year old the account is would help bring ppl back at least or reward older players.

it is not an instant heal the numbers displayed are the total health gained over the 15 second heal. each burst skill bar gives you a stack up to 3 stacks so if 1 stack gets you base heal of 2,000 3 stacks would be 6,000 healing over 15 seconds. it added a nice sustain boost if you keep using bursts.

Condi is the easiest way of dealing damage since its just ONE stat providing it.

pve mobs also use toughness, so it would stop condi altogether been viable in pve over power because of its damage over time statues.

if pvp and wvw is the main issue for condi abuse (I use condi builds a lot in everything) I will agree with them been powerful and require bit less skill to apply that damage. maybe anet just needs give out more condi reduction traits to classes. you see a lot of damage reduction traits and utility skills but not many for reducing condi durations or condi damage.

ways of avoiding direct damage and limiting damage
evades, blocks, invun, reflects, absorbs and blind, % damage reductions, protection

ways of avoiding condi application and limiting condi damage
Blocks, invun, evades, reflects, absorbs, blind, % damage reduction, resistance, condi cleanse, % duration reductions, condi convert to boons, condi transfer

the balance is fine, yes condi as powerful reductions in resistance and condi cleanse/converts and transfers but its damage can still work through blocks,inv,evades,reflects,absorbs and blinds to compensate. the issue is classes have better access to direct damage reductions over condi reductions

you can make a tanky build for most proffesions but you cant make a Condi tank for most proffesions.

boon transfer necro, mayllx rev with jails trait, condi cleanse,healing ele, condi cleanse mantra chrono etc

the issue with these builds is you sacrifice a lot just to gain some survival against condi
where as damage reduction stuff is available in a lot of utility and traits passively making it easy to create any type of build and still have some access to damage reduction.

only real solution is to add more condi damage and reduction to traits, buff some runes and make a sigil for reduced condi damage and target classes with nerfs that have very high multi condi applications (looking at you necro)

Without swiftness the traveling from point to point is time consuming. So it favours mobility classes alot. But the size makes your team think about on capping 2 points because of the extra distance and dying is more costly as it takes longer to get bk to a point. I like it but sometimes u dont see ppl for a while then u see them as a zerg because they dont want die and have respawn and walk again. I not a massive fan of the conquest formula in pvp it very mobility based or bunker oriented.

It not a bad map though but could do with 10 vs 10 on the size for a death match map

The rune does work, but it does not update tooltips for any class, been like this since launch. Just a note it not that great with scrapper it as more longer duration stuns and only short dazes, u wont notice the boost, better for rangers and mesmers

I’ve been working on this a bit over the days trying tweak some of the classes into a better place, if even a couple of these things get into the official patch I would be happy

Profession Skills
General:
• Chills skill cooldown reduction changed from 66% to 33% to match alacrity, movement reduction changed to 25% to make it less then cripple
• Condition removal skills now priorities damage dealing conditions first
• Boon removal skills priorities longest duration boons first
• Removed Clerics Amulet from pvp and replaced with new 4 stat amulet power, healing, concentration and toughness
• Added sigil of cleansing, sigil of cruelty, (sigil of ruthlessness and rending) (Hot only) to pvp
Elementalist
• Soothing Ice internal cool down changed from 10 seconds to 15 seconds
• Cleansing water now as a 5 second internal cooldown
• Elemental bastion swapped with tempestuous aria
• Elemental bastion now just does the healing on aura application
• Tempestuous aria now reduces shout cooldowns by 20% and grants 250 bonus ferocity when you have an aura applied
• Air overload base damage reduced by 15%
Engineer
• Electro whirl base damage reduced by 20% and cool down increased to 9 seconds
• Rocket charge cooldown increased to 15 seconds
• Shock shield cooldown increased to 25 seconds
• Thunderclap cooldown increased to 30 seconds
• Defense field duration reduced to 3 seconds
• Blast gyro cool down increased to 25 seconds now causes 3 stacks of burning for 5 seconds on target
• Shredder gyro now removes boons per strike interval
• Sneak gyro cool down increased to 72 seconds
• Self regulating defenses as been changed to trigger elixir c instead of elixir s

Guardian
• Scepter auto attack speed increased by 15%
• Piecing light removes the daze on traps and instead causes blind for 3 seconds
• Shelter is now a consecration skill. Shelter creates a light field that applies aegis every 1 second and heals allies per pulse, 5 targets lasts for 3 seconds
• Shield of absorption now grants a small heal for every projectile it absorbs. Base heal 50
• Signet of resolve changed the condition remove to condition boon convert
• Signet of mercy changed the active to grant 5 seconds of resistance to the revived ally and reduced its cooldown to 120 seconds and cast time to 2 ¾ seconds
• Bow of truth now shoots enemies damaging and striping a boon from them every 5 seconds. The command effects duration as been reduced to 6 seconds and healing increased by 20%. The bow now benefits from the spirit weapon trait to cause burning

Mesmer
• Chronophantasma now summons the phantasms with only 25% of their health
• Tides of time as had its cool down reduction removed and now 30 seconds base and does not return to user
• Continuum Split has had its function changed, for every second the rift is open your health increases by 10% of max health, your endurance goes up by 10 and your skills recharge reduces by 10%. Split duration per clone is now 2 seconds for a total of 6 seconds. The rift is now 50% bigger and easier to see
• Evasive mirror now grants the mirror at the end of a dodge roll lasts for 2 seconds
• Mimic skill cool down reduced to 72 seconds
• Arcane thievery cool down reduced to 15 seconds now transfers only 1 boon and condition
• Prismic understanding, replaced might with 1 second of resistance
• Portal CD reduced to 40 seconds. Now a ground target skill with 1500 range (creates entry at your feet when exit is created, 1 second cast time, 5 second duration. Gives 1 second distortion on exit

Necromancer
• Reverted the sceptre auto attack boon corrupt
• Minions now degenerate health slowly
• Minions don’t count towards nearby deaths because they are already dead
• Death nova no longer leaves a poison field behind but instead the minions do aoe explosion damage. When you are downed you cast Corrosive Poison Cloud at your location
• Life blast now life steals on hit
Ranger
• Ancient seeds reduced to 3 seconds duration
• Celestial form can now be activated if over 10% full and lasts 1 second per 10% for a total of 10 seconds. If ended early keeps current percentage.
• Reduced some of the druids base healing on some staff skills
• Spirit of nature now creates a light field when activated that pulses to revive allies and remove a condition for each pulse for 5 seconds

Revenant
• Pulsating Pestilence changed to give a 5 sec buff that increases damage and condition damage by 2% when a condition is applied to you. Stacks 5 times for a total of 10%
• Bolstered anguish changed to increase condition durations by 10%
• Replenishing despair base healing applied increased by 100%
• Rejuvenating assault now sends out a healing aoe pulse instead of creating orbs
• Tranquil benediction changed to speed of the Centaur. While wielding a staff your movement speed is increased 25% when you have swiftness or super speed you take 10% less damage
• Grasping shadow now shadow steps through the mist to your foe and pulls them back to their current location 600 distance
• Precision strike changed to a leap skill (warriors sword 3 skill animation) knocks down foe for 1 second if it lands a critical hit, also inflicts 2 seconds of chill on hit. Energy cost increased to 10 cool down increased to 7 seconds does base damage 755
• Charged mists trait now grants might on legend swap. Might stacks increased to 5 stacks for 12 seconds
Thief
• Vault now costs 6 initiative to use and its damage is reduced by 10%
• Impacting disruption removed and replaced with Risk Taker. When you have less than 1 bar of endurance you gain 150 ferocity.
• Lead attacks reduced to 10 stacks

Warrior
• Mending changed to Banner of mending. Summons a banner that heals allies in the radius and removes a condition every 5 seconds. Base heal 350 effects up to 5 allies. 120 cooldown 90 duration.
• Cleansing ire given an internal cooldown of 2 seconds on the adrenaline gain
• Adrenaline health duration reduced to 10 seconds
• Distracting strikes and burst precision traits swapped round
• Defy pain changed to take 10% less damage when below 50% health
• “For great justice” cooldown reduced to 20 seconds
• “On my mark” now grants 5 seconds of vigor and stability to allies
• “Fear me” reduced cool down to 45 seconds
• Skull grinder. Removed blind, cripple and confusion. Doubled the bleeding stacks

Ive allways wanted traps to be high skill cap skills and should have thier mechanics changed for all class

You should place the trap, when a player triggers it the skill flips to an activation skill. This then starts the cd timer. The player then gets pick when they want to set off the trap.

This helps also fix the issue of AI triggering them (small buff) to compensate the new skill level for traps they should be buffed slightly across the board for all classes.

Also they should add an after cast (1/2 sec to the trigger skill to help stop you triggering all the trap one after the other to combat powerful stacking bursts.

here’s my list

1: AI, to much AI on screen for long periods of time. necros worse offenders, Mesmer can be a pain but at least have a summon limit and shatter a lot
2: lots of BIG flashy effects on short spammable cooldowns. anything with a big effect should be on massive cooldowns but be a big game changing move. biggest offenders eles, scrappers and chronos.
3 : Lots of spammable fields. grounds painted with rings just look terrible
4: asuras (just hard to see in all the flashy effects)
5: not a very exciting game mode, made worse with long surviving bunker classes
6: very poor build choices on show (everyone running very samey builds and same classes)
7: boring maps we seen for the last 3 years or so.

so theirs my seven deadly sins of anet’s pvp scene and why esports don’t really work for this game.

don’t let all the toxicity get you down, I run a non elite spec Mesmer build and a few other none elite class builds on other professions. the meta builds are their for the less skilled players because they have more room for error. if you learn your builds strengths and weaknesses and play to them you will be fine.

people should play whatever they thinks good, if it isn’t that effective in a match change it up, adapt your play to different situations, evolve your build. mines evolved over the 3 or so years. I even have 1 utility slot that I swap out constantly between 3 skills depending on the other teams classes I up against.

Warrior – Dagger main hand (I cant see warrior getting out of that brawler stereotype just yet)
Guard – Axe main hand ( guard needs a good one hand Condi melee weapon with some burning skills)
Rev – Focus off hand (Snaff) longbow (Eir) snaff is my preferred pick I just think it too soon for eir
Ranger – Rifle ( if the ranger don’t get more ranged weapon types it not living up to its name)
Engi – Mace main hand (it needs a weapon to compliment the off hand shield)
Thief – off hand sword ( I want say rifle but I think anet want keep the thief close quarters for balance)
Mesmer – Hammer (no logic for this pick but it my main and I want a freaking hammer)
Necro – Torch ( it a popular pick and a condi off hand for burning could be cool, but due to necros condi dominance I expect it have a defensive none condi nature for balance)
Ele – swo….nope changed my mind going say shortbow ( I just think anet will troll on this one for last expac because they know you want sword. also I think anet don’t want ele to have weapons the same as the conjure weapons that why I expect no ele greatsword,hammer,axe,shield or longbows)

i have had issues with two skills so far causing getting trapped into terrain on pvp maps.

the first skill is the rev downed skill 2 that pushes foes backward through the mist.
(i was on stronghold and i hit an enemy with the skill and he got trapped within the first gates door hinge and could not escape until the door was destroyed)

the second skill is the thief’s scorpion wire when the skill connects with a foe it as a small delay before the pull i got hit by the attack then i dropped down to a lower elevation and was snapped back into one of the point a’s pillers and trapped inside of it, i tried take a photo and write a bug report in game but the thief came back to cleave me down and put me out my misery.

can we get a instant death button that can be used to port us back to spawn with a time penalty so it cant be abused for quick map movement or something like that, because i expect that easier than changing how all skills work.

nope it was like that before the patch I run the trait line in my boon corrupt build just for the fun of having 5 exploding poison bomb minions to help negate a little of that ele healing with poison also the condition transfer, life steal and 50% damage reduction nice

Boons that could get merged:

Stability + Resistance = Resistance
Quickness + Swiftness = Quickness
Remove Super Speed, buff Swiftness to 50% and reduce accordingly the Durations by a few seconds
Protection + Aegis = Protection (First Attack blocked, then for the rest of the duration reduced damage)
Regeneration + Vigor = Regeneration

This way we would have:
Might
Fury
Protection
Regeneration
Retaliation
Quickness
Resistance

7 Boons are more than enough, now lets do the same for Conditions

Conditions that should get merged:

Blind + Weakness = Blindness (letting it work again more like GW1s Blindness 75% rate not to hit targets, Auto Block Effects won’t work while being blinded.
Immobilized + Chilled = Freeze (reduces Movement Speed and Skill Cooldown, completely stops movement, if stacks reach maximum of 10 Stacks)
Poison + Vulnerability = Poison (Damages per second, reduces Healing Potency by 20% and increases received damage pr stack by 1%
Cripple + Slow = Slow
Bleeding + Torment = Bleeding (or simple said, remove Torment, because its always a halfway Bleeding, just punishes Positioning what Bleedign currently doesnt)
Confusion + Taunt = Confusion (instead of taunt on you, taunt on nearest enemy ally, a confused enemy attacks its nearest ally and receives damage over time)

Fear gets removed as Soft Condition and turned into a Hard CC, Daze gets removed because its practically just Stun 2.0, theres no sense to have 2x exactly the same Hard CC
Under these changes, following Conditions stay:

Bleeding
Burning
Blindness
Poison
Slow
Freeze
Confusion

I think you have a good concept with the boon and Condi merging but I don’t think it needs to have this drastic of a change because we all use to the current layout.

:you cant merge stab and resistance because it don’t give daze and stun protection.

:combining regen and vigor seems ok if the vigor endurance gain reduced to combat increased uptime

:I would say merging superspeed and quickness would be better

: I would have cripple stack to 5 and turn into immobilise when at 5 stacks

: be better to merge weakness with poison IMO get rid of the fumble on weakness and just keep endurance regen reduction and maybe up poison heal reduction to 50%

: change chill to just the skill cd reduction and give it the fumble from weakness

: merging confusion and taunt also not great better off just getting rid of taunt and swapping confusions DPS ticker to damage 5 allies in an area around the confused foe instead of the target itself if you wanted the ally damage part making confused foes dangerous to stand near.

just some ideas maybe you should create your own thread on the subject because the amount of condis and boons in the game makes name bars a pain to read when overloaded with boons and condis the system could do we some better streamlining

I would expect Anet keep to the same plan they done with Heart of thorns.

base game and last expansion plus new expansion rolled into one set price

3 different price plans with bonuses

what I would like see is

: 9 new elite professions
: a new playable race (I need a good reason make another character) I vote tengu because it was in development
: a new region with either the same number of high detailed maps as HOT or at least 6-8 silver wastes quality maps
: at least 3 new weapon collections and 3 new armour collections
: a good quality story like HOT but a bit longer thou
: 1or 2 new guild halls
: at least 1 new pvp game mode with a deathmatch style gameplay 10 vs 10
: some new maps for stronghold and at least 3 maps for new game mode
: no new wvw content (don’t want get a new borderlands disaster like last time)
: new masteries
: one new gimmick ( not flight based we got gliding already) pogo sticks, surf boards, anything interesting really.
: 1 raid wing release in parts after expansion and living story to expand on the story.

At least Anet been upfront with us on this issue, I prefer that than keep stringing us along on promises they clearly cant keep up with. they will still arrive at some point so people will get moneys worth in future. but they need to keep their core casual player base around with casual, fun content. I would say they made a mistake trying to pander to a small potion of player base with raids and guild hall stuff. the expansion should of just gave us more of what we already had and loved and improved on them.

New fractals
New PVP maps and game modes
NEW WvW overall (that is coming at least, well came then failed and needs reworking again)
I agree with the dungeons being cut they were pretty poor design wise.
HOT story was short but delivered well on quality but really need living story to be no more than 3 months after its release to make up for the length.

they made a massive mistake promising content to come after hot release clear sales and other income stream are not grand enough to pay the extra staff to full fill the promises.

let ANET learn from this first expansions mistake and try get back on track. the community should support them and be understanding and have faith that they doing what’s best to keep the franchise alive. (or they all outta a job)

it ok and fixed now, was the cool and quite mode on the bios.

the mode meant to lower the cpu output when not running high demanding programs but for some reason stopped detecting guildwars 2 when it running but was detecting other games fine. so just disabled the mode and all working great again

posting in multi threads hoping the info spotted more to fix others issues

thanks Ellieanna for pointing that out, I decided to investigate my bios and it was the Cool and quite mode that was limiting my processor power. it must of been some feature that got turned on by something or added in an update. I working at full power now and my fps gone back to 60fps average.

having the mode disable don’t know if it will lower my processors lifespan but it not functioning how it meant to when enabled as the mode should optimize itself for games but must of stopped detecting guild wars when it running.

I have a problem! yesterday I was playing normally and today when I walked in GW2 in the morning and so far, my FPS is only 4 and that on any map! All other games that have are normal!

Follow me settings:

Size of memory – 3072 MB

internal clock – 1000 MHz

It never happened! And like a help of Anet as have other complaints here at the Forum of others!

I got same issue, mine been stuck at around 10-12 fps everywhere and I have same graphics card as you and same 6 core processer and ram but running on win 10 so glad it not operating system related.

my game near unplayable I just login for my daily now that all I can do. I just going through some of the suggestions on this post see what works, it all trail and error at moment. my issue started with balance patch back in jan. I never had an issue like this before and other games all work fine just guildwars 2 a pain.

I dont know if this got any relation to my current issue that making my game unplayable at moment. My fps has crashed to a mere 12 fps standing still and doesnt alter on best performance or best appearance nothing i do or change setting wise will change it like i locked in a fps limiter on the client. You lucky your stuck at 50 fps at least. My computer top of the range and only 4 months old and before lunar new year update was hitting a consistant 30 – 60 fps.

Mesmer Elite Spec :Puppeteer
New weapon : Hammer
New Skill Type: Tricks
Class Mechanic : Puppet Master Form
Gives the mesmer access to F5 transform skill that swaps thier weapon for a selection of powerful CC type skills for tactically moving and postioning enemies on the battlefield. The form as its own break bar and lasts until bar broke,a weapon swap occurs or player downed. The unique skill set as very little damage output but will synegise with the interrupt mesmer playstyle traits. this form as a 60 second CD that triggers when leaving the form.
The form comes with magical threads that float around the player as a visual cue

Puppet Master Form Skills (low damage, great cc application)

Skill 1 – fires a small front cone 360 distance blast of light enery from thier hand with a 10% chance to inflict blind on an oppenent. (1 sec CD)
Skill 2 – lockdown a foe with magical threads immobilising them for 3 seconds. (12 sec cd)
Skill 3 – lay a trap on the ground that when triggered pulls away boons from up to 5 foes. (25 sec cd)
Skill 4 – vanish in stealth for 3 seconds and create a clone of yourself that casts mind control on the foe taunting it for 1 second. (30 sec cd)
Skill 5 – fire out magical threads at a foe pulling them to you and stunning them for 1 second after they get up. (40 second cd)

Hammer Skills (very high damage, long cast time and skill cd)

Skill 1 – chain 1 – swing the hammer creating a 600 range cone wave that damages foes
– chain 2 – swing hammer again with increased damage
– chain 3 – slam hammer into ground creating a more damaging wave and inflicting cripple for 2 seconds
Skill 2 – throw your hammer at a foe, dazing them for 1 second and summoning a clone. 600 range. (10 sec cd)
Skill 3 – charge up your hammer then Smash it into the ground creating a ethereal line field (lasts 5 seconds) that torments foes that pass through it 2 stacks for 6 seconds and grants allies 3 stacks of might and fury for 10 seconds. (24 second cd)
Skill 4 – summon a phatasm next to a foe that takes a massive downward swing at it knocking it down for 1 second. (35 second cd)
Skill 5 – glow with magical energy then blink to a foe 600 range appearing in mid air and throwing your hammer at the ground creating a 450 radius magical explosion ( 40 second cd) (leap finisher at starting point)

Utilities – Tricks (instant cast)

Healing threads (Heal skill) – stitch yourself back together and summoning a clone that finds a downed or defeated player and revives them (when no ally in need (450 radius) follows you granting you 3 seconds of regen every 3 seconds)(25 second cd)

Confusing retreat – stealth away for 3 seconds, confusing upto 5 enemies around you in a 360 radius for 5 seconds. (35 seconds)

Flick of the wrist – an illsionary hand appears at an enemy, that damages and launches them away 450 distance (25 second cd)

Your master needs you – sacrafice all your clones/phanstams gaining 4 seconds of masters might per sacrifice (15 second CD) Masters Might gives you 200+ power and 20% condition duration and boon duration

Hypnotic blast – fire a cone of hypnotic waves 600 range slowing and weakning foes for 3 seconds (20 second cd)

Illusionary Army – summon 3 random clones from all available weapon types to attack upto 3 targets in 600 radius removes weakness and vunrability from you (60 second cd)

Traits – puppeteer line

minor 1 – gain access to puppet master form,hammer and tricks

minor 2 – illusions attack 10% faster

minor 3 – when in puppet master form take 5% reduced damage and condition damage

Adept tier

Fly swatter – when you go down activate flick of the wrist on nearest enemy (25 second icd)
Still in control- when puppet master form ends gain 10 stacks of might for 5 seconds (60 second icd)
Puppet shield – when shattering gain 1 second of protection per shattered illusion

Master tier

Army of one – when you dont have any illusions you do 10% more damage
Chain of Command – when in puppet master form upto 5 allies within a 450 radius of player have thier attack speed increased by 15%
Mallet of malice – Hammer skill cooldowns are reduced by 20% also when swapping to hammer grant 3 seconds of retaliation to allies around you

Grandmaster tier

Be my eyes – when you have at least 1 illusion your immune to blindness
Razor threads – when in Puppet master form the threads that circle your body have a 25% chance inflict 5 seconds of bleeding when you struck by melee attack.
tricks of the trade – trick skills convert 1 condition to a boon. convert 10% of power into precision

Mesmer not OP, just the chrono spec at moment a little over tuned. I run a Condi Mesmer build and I am very successful, did use to us inspiration line for Condi cleanse, but after the PU nerf I went chaos as it wasn’t worth trying be more survival traited also I get prestige for my small condi removal anyway. cant survive necro condi bombs no more but don’t have many issues with other classes unless they high condi remove classes or de stealth classes. I ran into a dragonhunter condi remove on block spam build today (that trait does need a 10sec ICD thou) and my build just crumbled completely without my condis sticking same with mallyx revs. most builds will always have a weakness to them due to trait lines chosen or build type focused on.

if they don’t have a main exploitable weakness that can cause them high damage or stop them doing high damage then that when they OP.
