No response, seriously?
Incoming cash shop Identifier that does it at a lower cost or even for free, and they’ll even put shared slots on sale at the same time as well.
Why is it bad?
At least it can stack, and that’s handy! It costs 1s 68c to identify each piece and if you don’t you’ll lose out on precursors and other nice exotics that sell for decent amount of gold.
Prove it. Prove that anything but blue/green garbage comes out of them.
I not only received a number of rares (which were for the Elonian weapon collection), I got an exotic that was an upgrade of the Elonian dagger.
As noted in the other thread re: this subject, we are still getting blues and greens on top of the UnID’ed gear, so how this is space-saving enough to warrant the hassle and expense of ID’ing, I just don’t know.
It’s stupid, unfortunately they’ll probably keep it in the game. Probably so they can sell a cash shop identifier that’ll do it at a lower cost or even free.

Done, two rares in the first three I identified. First screenshot showing what I have in my inventory, second screenshot showing what I got out of the first 8 I identified in order.
Edit: here’s two more screenshots, getting an exotic as well.

What a petty thing to complain about.
It saves space in inventory, meaning that bag space isn’t as premium as before; and it’s a gold sink to help with the current low value of gold. It’s barely an inconvenience, you babies.
How is it petty? Now we have to pay to have our items identified in addition to paying for them to be salvaged. If we don’t, we lose out on potentially valuable items, exotics, precursors. Also now we could be possibly losing gold identifying items and salvaging them.
I’ve never had issue with bag space, even with some of my alts that are using 30+ slots and don’t have any additional bags. I don’t understand how anyone does unless they’re filling 3/4 of their inventory with stupid crap.
Need a hug guy?
Unidentified gear, why, oh why? It is a redundant RNG throwback to old style action RPGs that serves no purpose in Guild Wars 2, just adds to tedium and annoyance. Please remove it from PoF release.
It does serve a purpose, however. Identifying it isn’t required, you can simply salvage it. Which reduces the inventory clutter dramatically. No more Unusable Weapon of Uselessness polluting your inventory with Minor Sigils of Inadequateness.
Sure it does reduce clutter, but you’ll be losing out on nice exotics and precursors as well. Also it costs 1 silver 68 copper per identify which is ridiculous, and currently you have to go to a heart vendor to do this each time you want to identify items.

You have to buy both.
I do not like this mechanic at all, but if arena net does go forward with this, one thing I do ask for is different rarity unidentified pieces (basic, fine, masterwork, rare, and exotic) so we don’t have to identify every single piece just for a chance at an rare/exotic.
It’s pretty lame
bump, I would like an answer as well.
This has been asked in https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Why-no-elite-spec-testing-I-m-PvE
You may wish to review that for discussion, though there are no dev responses and there is some acrimony.
Thanks, I was not aware there was a thread up already.
Will we be only be able test the new Elites Specs in PvP and WvW during the 18th-20th demo/beta test? If so, what’s the reasoning behind this?
“On August 18 through August 20, you’ll be able to experience the new elite specializations for the first time in PvP and WvW.”
Randomly dodging around, spamming abilities off cooldown, randomly using defense cooldowns. The 1v2 is debatable, and not even a 1v3. Good job not dying against other bad players?
Not sure if anyone noticed, but it’s 7% in the expansion screenshots, though I’m not sure what stage that’s at. Might be stage 2.
First two on the top right.

I doubt there will be a balance patch significant enough to make any difference with the meta or whatever until the “expansion”.
Surprised this thread lasted this long. I made a thread about the paper bag helms a while ago and I got a infraction and the thread deleted.
It sucks that they don’t use this stuff, like some one else said they’re throwing away profits.
Removed from the game. As to why, your guess is as good as ours.
I’ve seen Spirits following people after the change as recently as a few days ago, so something is amiss here.
Why are you lying? They’re not moving, even with the spirit trait.
Bloodstone Fen, looks great, though extremely boring. 8/10 for looks, 1/10 for gameplay.
Lake Doric, Ugly and boring. 1/10 for looks, 1/10 for gameplay.
Ember Bay, Looks alright, but again boring. 6/10 for looks, 2/10 for gameplay.
Bitterfrost Frontier, Looks great, also very boring. 9/10 for looks, 2/10 for gameplay.
I wouldn’t spend any of my time in any of these maps unless it was necessary for a story, achievement for a skin/item, or if I really wanted a skin from a vendor, but even then probably not.
Theory craft your own build?
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/
How would “You can cast your BURST skills for 5 seconds for free before it goes on a cooldown” get triggered? Chance, guaranteed on X?
Combine Merciless and Sundering together as a disc Grandmaster and reduce the extra damage to 5-10% while making it with mace as well. Also removing the Vuln or reduce the stacks depending on how much dmg%.
Completely scrap Power Synergy and just make a trait with “You can cast your BURST Skills for 5-7 seconds for free without cooldown.” and move it from tactics because the line is balls in anything but pve. With some drawbacks like reduced damage on greatsword, axe, hammer, and rifle bursts. Limited to 1 fire field at a time during this effect with bows, and something for sword idk.
Drop the other two suggestion completely.
(edited by Nihevil.8024)
Lets not and say we did. This idea is abysmal and I would quit immediately without hesitation.
Just wanted to say that this is an interesting suggestion! The team is interested in feedback on this idea and will continue watching this thread. However, just because we are following this thread doesn’t guarantee we will add it as a feature.
Oh god, please no. These are some awful suggestions.
I don’t enjoy playing any of the classes. Why might you ask, because I’ve been using pretty much the same builds, using the same 4 utility skills, and auto attacking with that one weapon for each class since launch.
Before you say “try a different class”, I’ve geared and played every class.

This will fix absolutely nothing, it will return the same state as it was before. It will be a complete mess for possibly quite a lot of guilds/players, guild members picking the wrong server, guild members getting locked out of the server their guild is on due to it being full, friends/family locked out a specific server their friends/family are on due to it being full. Also, I don’t often play so I will probably miss the “servers resetting” and most likely will get locked out of my own server that I’ve been on since launch. All of this is unacceptable.
The only way I would consider approving of this is if people were able to opt out, even then I don’t know.
If they change the animation then they better be giving refunds as well.
Enjoying others suffering is one of the simpliest and most basic form of humour.
Personally I’m not sure that enjoying watching others suffer says good things about human nature, or even if it should be even used as a argument. After all, watching dogs kill each other in dog fights is outlawed, no matter how much pleasure some people get from watching them suffer.
Why do you keep comparing a floppy fish in a video game to awful things like a dog laying down on its side gasping for air and flopping around, and now dogs killing each other in dog fights?
It’s a comparison to make people stop and think.
Yes it’s only a fish, but pain and fear are basic bottom level emotions and sensations. In real life, a fish out of water is suffering. Personally I do not wish to see a mini pet that’s has the animations of an animal that’s suffering (most specifically, gasping for air as it suffocates). People don’t have sympathy for it. It’s only a fish, they say. However if I point out that a dog with the same animation is distasteful, then maybe they’ll see the connection as they do have sympathy for dogs and can imagine them suffering,
It’s not suffering at all though. It’s a magic fish. It’s what fish do, flop around outside of water. A dog or almost anything that’s flopping around on its side would probably be significantly injured.

What has become of the internet in the last few years? Like people are offended by ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. People have become so touchy.
If a floppy fish in a video game “hurts” your “safe space” so much then that’s a sign you need to put on your big girl/boy pants and grow up.
Shouldn’t you people be complaining about the mini chickenado as well? It’s clearly a distressed chicken and its eggs forever stuck in a tornado. https://youtu.be/Ts_inBW-jDA
You get 20 gold every time you complete the Byzantium track during the season. Not to mention the Wintersday Gifts you can sell on the TP. As well as the Unidentified Dyes that are in everything. I made a ridiculous amount of gold this past season without even trying to.
It’s ridiculously easy to earn gold in PvP
it costs like 600g to get an entire set of ardent glorious armor, don’t you think that’s a bit ridiculous? especially when it was originally like 14g + ascended shards of glory.
I was undecided on which ascended Arden Glorious set I wanted to get and held onto my ascended shards of glory. As of now if I wanted to get say the heavy set, I would have to spend roughly 570 gold on crafting 20 “Grandmaster Armorsmith’s Mark’s” and that’s excluding the 14 gold vendor cost as well.
Now I’m screwed out of unique skins I worked hard to get the original currency to purchase them (Ascended Shards of Glory) or now screwed out of roughly 584 gold to get them.

The map is pretty nice, though after going through it once (doing all the events n stuff) I probably won’t go back to it unless it’s necessary. The story was incredibly boring, especially all of the time sink parts in the new zone. The whole Caudecus kill was lackluster, I wish it would have been more epic. The quality of the story content/episodes for the past year+ has been really awful.
Was it that hard to say this earlier? You’ve really wasted so much of peoples time and energy by not saying this earlier.
You should have said this before!!!
Maybe you should’ve made this statement about 4h ago ,speaking as an EU player
all of you should re-think what you saying…. for kitty sake… make a game…. try to make it stable for world wide , realese patches every 2 months with content… and then complain….
Your Kitty saltiness is boring… whiners and cry baby all over forum because patch didnt go live today… end of the kitty world… be happy that servers are still running and u can play the game.
“realese patches every 2 months with content” two months to make a small map and a few story instances. lol
The point is, they should have admitted it wasn’t going to be out today earlier today, instead of being overly optimistic.
So what you guys going to do for the players? What we getting ? some gems would be nice :P
You aint gettin’ jack yo, slow your roll.
Well obviously, should have just said that earlier today.
Got completely smashed, 102-500 and lost 10 rating.
The other team’s rating was 1984 – 1932 -1826 – 1761 – Forgot last guys name. With two duo’s and one of them being 2 from pro teams.
My team was 1773 – 1743 – The rest of the team wouldn’t tell me their rating and I couldn’t find their character or account name on the top 250 leaderboards so I am assuming they are below 1760. All solo queuers.

Three days before it starts and -100 per day to a maximum of -700.
Thanks for your help. c:
Was wondering how many days of afk from spvp does it take for the decay to turn on, and by how much per day?
Hey folks,
We’ve seen a few questions about this, so I wanted to let everyone know. We will not be turning off the Year of the Ascension achievements. It will still be possible to work towards the Ascension backpack/glider in Season 6 and beyond.
Thanks!
Ben
Cool. Though what do you mean by “beyond”? Like it’s possible to finish even while not during a pvp season, or just can be finish in future seasons?
Now that Grouch is gone you’re pretty much boned. Sorry guy.
I find myself spending 15 mins just opening bags and salvaging/selling whats inside.
Every bag contains another bag and the loot is kind of irrelevant for a veteran level 80 player.
The majority of us are level 80 and playing end-game content.. I don’t think any of us find the loads of blue/green gear useful.
It just takes a lot of space in the inventory and you have to clean it up very often.
Can you tone it down a little bit?
It takes 15 minutes to clear your bags, Huh? I don’t know how that’s even remotely possible, unless maybe you’re watching a movie/show while doing it and paying more attention to the movie/show. Before the ‘Salvage All’ feature I could easily open and salvage 3 stacks of champion bags in give or take 5 minutes.
With the ‘Salvage All’ feature you should be able to clear your bags in easily like a minute, after a Tarir Multimap Meta, or Tangle Depths Meta, or whatever else you’re doing. Even IF you’re not salvaging anything it still wouldn’t take 15 minutes to clear your bags, it would probably take even less than if you were salvaging.
So I finally bought HoT and I was all hyped up that I would finally be able to craft my first pre cursor. I finished Incinerator I: The Experimental Dagger, and moved on to the second part Incinerator II. But on the half way of the achievement I said wait a minute, this costs waaay too many gold. So I did the math:
Spark on the Trading Post = 669 Gold
Achievement Crafting = 671 Gold
Incienator Vol 1 = 5 Gold
100 Memorys of Battle = 6 Gold
100 Shards of Glory = 1 Gold
10 Globs of Ectoplasm = 3 Gold
10 Elonian Leather Squares = 108 Gold
85 Deldrimor Steel Ingots = 512 Gold
25 Stabilizing Matrix = 10 Gold
100 Karka Shells = 7 Gold
Steel, Iron,Orichalcum.. Blades = 10 Gold
Steel, Iron,Orichalcum.. Hilts = 3 Gold
50 Elderwood Plank = 3 Gold
Gemstone + Lodestones = 3 GoldAfter all the time and gold spent only to find out this!? Seriously I want my gold back, If I knew that pre cursor would cost me the same amount of gold like on TP, I wouldn’t even started crafting it. Opinions?
Maybe you should do some research next time before you craft a precursor.
EB – BG server – Take a look, see for yourself. Keep supply was at 70, towers at 50, when I took this.
Sooo? What’s your point? It’s only golems like 35 golems. I doubt the golem rush will succeed anyway.

You probably should have elaborated on how koda tonics allow players to bypass blocks/reflects.
I’m going to hazard a guess tho, koda tonics make it difficult to see when a warrior uses might signet which makes their attacks unblockable and you just didn’t notice.
Also I got shot by a kodan bear rifle warrior through my guardian’s shield 5 bubble that was supposed to absorb projectile
Then they were using signet of might to pierce your bubble, unless you have video proof of the “kodan” warrior not having the unblockable buff and still piercing your bubble. Otherwise the tonic is not bugged and there is no exploit being abused.
The new simple nameplates are awesome, though it would be great if there was a Friendly only option. I prefer the normal nameplates for enemies and the green dots for friendlies.
The scenario is quite ridiculous, it’s not “exactly what people want to use the dps meter for” or to “judge, criticize, exclude, or to change how someone plays”. It’s for players to help improve themselves. As well as to help others improve their gameplay that may be struggling with damage, healing, taking too much damage, or boon uptime without realizing it in a guild group or a pug that may be halting progression through the raid content.
When you say “help others improve their gameplay” does that mean you judge, criticize and then try to change how someone plays?
Helping others is fine, but remember unwanted and unwelcome help or advice doesn’t often spark friendly conversation. It’s also greatly effected by how it’s presented and suggested.
If you honestly think people would not use a DPS meter in a negative way… You have an incredible faith in people.
No, they don’t judge or criticize them. They figure out what may be the issue and give them advice and tips to work on and improve. I’m not sure what you mean by “try to change how someone plays”, do you mean special snowflakes that use hardly optimized gear and lack luster builds?
Help or advice should never be unwanted or unwelcomed, especially in a teamplay environment.
I’ve been raiding in wow since 09 on the hardest difficulties (Heroic/Mythic) in guild groups as well as pugs and I barely encountered people like this. My guild currently is #5 on my server out of a 100 or so in terms of raid progression and none of them are like this (not trying to gloat, just trying to get a point across). If I did encounter people like this, I ignore them and moved on because I’m an adult, and I don’t have a tantrum if I was kicked or criticized.
(edited by Nihevil.8024)
-snip- Player X tries to change how player 2 plays, or worse tries to force the issue.
And this is why DPs meters are a bad thing (unless personal only)
That’s a load of bull and you know it. Making up ridiculous scenarios that would almost never happen just put down a very useful tool that can and will improve a lot of players gameplay.
Is that sarcasm, I honestly can’t tell?
That scenario is hardly ridiculous and it’s exactly what people want to use the dps meter for. If you aren’t going to judge, criticize, exclude, or try to change how someone plays that preforms below in what you opinion is acceptable, what do you want to see others DPS for?
