Thank you so much for this video. Guardian is my absolute favourite class, been playing it since launch. Been feeling disheartened with how it fairs in pvp so I’ve been playing necromancer 99% of my games. It’s good to see a guardian doing well at legendary
Usually my ping sits around 200 – 300, but since yesterday’s patch, I am getting between 500 and 3k ping regularly, and loadscreen times of 5 minutes. Am I the only one?
Just as the title says. Anyone else not receiving the chest at the end of Boss Blitz?

All norn, all guardians, all sparkly _
Hello all
So I’m coming over to engineer from guardian. I see this forum doesn’t have any builds stickied, so could someone perhaps give me a quick run down of what builds are effective/popular/meta to play for engineer?
Builds in regards to: PVE, Fractals, and WVW
Thanks in advance!
Changing DNS worked for me too – CPT, SA.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but there isn’t a Light/Medium/Heavy version of the backpiece right?
Just craft it with a character who is an armorsmith or leatherworker. Problem solved there. You don’t need to do it with a tailor.
What if tailoring is all I got? This event is time limited and it is way too late to start levelling up leatherwork now.
Too late for what??
You can level leatherworking from 0-500 in under 2 hours!!Sir, will you pay for my gold?
If you don’t have or cannot farm enough gold to level leatherworking, then you have more problems than crafting this back-piece, mate ..
Read properly ‘If you’re not a hardcore farmer, screw you.’
A hundred gold is A LOT to a casual player with a job a family and other responsibilities.
I’m a casual player and I make 100g a week. All you got to do is invest in the right stuff.
No you’re not, if you make that much a week you are either a farmer or a TP flipper. If you are a farmer, then you are NOT a casual player. If you are a TP flipper, you’re barely a player at all, let alone a casual one. Standing in front of the bank and tracking marketing trends is not playing the game, this isn’t Guild Market 2, it’s Guild Wars 2. No one bought GW2 to play a sick and twisted version of Monopoly.
I’m somewhere between casual and hardcore (depends how much time I have) and I’ve never had more than 80 raw gold on me. (I probably have quite a lot of gold worth of materials though, and granted, I do spend gold often). But really, you have to try fairly hard to make 100 gold a week. Only when I was farming for several hours every single day for my Mjolnir did I make that.

Seeing as everyone would like the blue to be dyable, i’ve whipped up a few examples that would make the armor look great. (Please excuse the messy masking, I’m at work).
Edit: Added another version where breasts are more covered.

Livra, The Princess of Grenth.
Not sure about the staff…any suggestions?
What about The Crossing? Great staff for all necros.

My norn is finally ready for show
Say hello to Nica Spiritkeeper, guardian who bends electricity to her will, purges her enemies with blue flames, smashes faces in with large, crackling, blunt objects
Holy crap: Mjolnir.
Legendaries are too mainstream
Also, I could not resist this armor as an alternate look.

Finally my icy, electric guardian is done.
(Because Mjolnir is better than the Juggernaut)
What armor and dyes are these?
Chest and legs are from Arah. Boots are COF. Gauntlets are Norn T3. Shoulders are the Fanatic’s Mantle.
Dyes are Black and Ocean.
Got a new, fresh look for her on days when i am bored of Arah look ^^
^Really? That’s pretty awesome, actually xD.
I think this armor looks really great, especially when you mix it up with Norn T3. Please don’t take the blue away completely – at least make it dyable, or be able to toggle on and off. I really like that it looks like a superhero costume. And the glow of stars that wafts off you is great. Graphically, this armor is very impressive, and I can only imagine how much of a kitten that skin was to get right.
Also, i would welcome an increase in material over the breasts. It is quite sparse.
Oh yeah, and if you could fix the glitches, that would be lovely. (Glitch in the image below is what happens when I exit a quaggan potion)
So my client is having problems downloading the update, the download speed slows down to 0kbps after a few seconds every time I launch it. It randomly decided to download after many, many tries, and upon trying to log in it gave me a connection error. Two of my friends are having the exact same issue.
Please guys, fix it. It’s annoying enough being in a Euro time zone, and working 9am – 5pm, making one wait a full day to play the update, without these problems.

Found a better dye combination for my guardian.
Please tell me the armor and dye colors, and that hammer!
Chest: Primeval from gem store
Legs: Norn cultural t3
Helm: Vigil i think
Gloves: Norn cultural t3
I think legs and shoulders might be Vigil.
Hammer is Genesis, you can buy it off the TP.
I absolutely LOVE the marionette, and yes, the wurm bosses.
Completed marionette on my second try with my guild. The fight was fun, rewarding, and felt satisfying. When is the last time you remember a boss being satisfying? This is a big improvement on stacking on a bosses foot and just auto’ing its toes to death.
I havent managed to down the wurm yet, but you know what, I don’t really care. The whole fight is just fun. Frustratingly fun. It would be great to complete it and get the title and all, but for me, it’s really secondary to enjoying the fight and the story of this update.
Just one or two more marionette’s and hopefully I’ll be able to go lurking in Scarlet’s crib
I’ve started to see an increase in the amount of guards with Bifrost. Unfortunately I’ve no idea about special effects. Honestly, if you like staff on a guard, go for it
I think it is Vigil chest piece.
I thought so too but it’s slightly different. At least to my eyes anyway
falling in love all over again with my guardian, also 1st time trying purple colors on her, I think it looks quite good
Can anyone tell me which chest piece this is?
I know your feels Tongku, though not the exact same situation. I started crafting Mjolnir instead of Juggy in mid November 2013. I’m now sitting at 293/350 charged lodestones. Bought every single one of them except for maybe 20 that I upgraded from dropped charged cores. I’m feeling a little burnt out. X)
That was awesome to watch. Never bothered to find out what damage beserker warriors (i assume?) can do. Holy kitten. My guardian hangs her head in shame XP
Wow. This is so weird. I’ve also been running a build very similar to this for a few months now. With mix of knights and clerics gear, beserker trinkets.
It’s a good build, i’d say
Considering going full knights though. Hmm.
I am a support-based guardian who is also wanting to go more on the offensive side. I have been trawling these forums for days, wondering what gear and build I should go for. I really REALLY dont want to go full beserker, I want something different, something fun to play and that feels “guardiany”. I have been tossing the idea of Celestial gear around in my head. But I’m still not sure about that. I think I’m going to give your build a try, looks really fun
i have this http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/gw2-golden-shield-2.jpg
I think it’s super pretty ^^
For example, use few Celestial in a zerker set will give you more survivability than the damage sacrificed. However, I won’t recommend using full Celestials, while you may have the most total number of stats, but you end up not able to do well in anything.
IMO the ideal set is Celestial weapon and armors, with either zerker trinkets for dps, and cleric trinkets for survival.
I like this. I like this a lot. I think I’m going to give it a bash.
Seeing as you are only level 20, i wouldn’t worry a lot about gear and traits at this stage. The best way to build your guardian is to build him however you like to play him.
However, for leveling, I would suggest gear with gives you toughness and power. Weapons are a solid choice.
A couple traits in honor and valor will give you some survivability.
You can run with this and do alright however I will warn you that PvE players tend not to be amazingly forgiving if people aren’t wearing full Berserker because they want to clear things as quickly as humanly possible and high HP and Toughness should not be needed if you can dodge well enough.
I actually havent had anyone being upset that I dont have full beserker set. No one has actually asked before.
Here is what I am running with currently:

(Yes I dont have any runes or jewels. Havent gotten round to it yet.)
I guess it’s not all that different from what has already been linked. And if it’s not all that different, now I am thinking maybe I should just leave myself as I am XD I mean, I have two norn cultural t3 transmuted onto my chest and leg piece. XD
Slightly reluctant to have to get them again.
I must say, the Celestial gear is appealing for it’s ‘bit of everything’ stats. I’m just not super keen on the time gating I’ve heard about it.

Yes, another gear post. Sorry.
So I’ve recently come back to Guild Wars 2 after about 7 months break. I had been playing my guardian with full Cleric armor for a few months before I left. I really liked it and found it useful in the dungeons I frequent (CoF, AC, etc.) Even now I still love the playstyle, but suddenly I feel like I want to be more useful damage wise, but still retain some survivability. So I trawled the forums and I have gathered that Knights armor is a good way to go, even Knights with a few Zerker thrown in. But now I see there is something called Celestial gear. What are everyone’s thoughts on that? What even is Celestial gear? I feel like I’ve missed out on something big :/
Also, I’ve been hearing you can now craft ascended gear. Should I not bother with new exotics and just work on ascended? Are the stats on ascended worth the time and resources to craft? I’m not the kind of person who likes gear treadmills. I want a build that is a good all rounder, and gear that will last me forever, so I can focus on the story content rather than spend 1000 hours sitting in front of a crafting table, wearing out my mouse.
Edit: This is what I have currently http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUAQNAR7elYgiC33RLEmIFRuAbBYPwYG741DHmQGC-jQCBIgwIhAYLQZRFRjV1ATVCRXKoaUR2lADA-e
