Yep WvW is still garbage, they need to revamp the entire system not just toss the Spvp reward system into it.
Hopefully there’s not, ranked Spvp doesnt involve 5 man team ranked play, the gw2 competitive pvp scene is miniscule, if Anet isnt profiting off it from sponsors then it’s a waste of resources imo.

Yup. Lost a couple matches yesterday; figured I’d make it up before the end-of-season today, since last season ended — what? at midnight? or reset the next day? Logged on when I could, got into my match, blew away the enemy, and then . . . nothin’. Apparently the season silently ended shortly after my queue popped. Classic ANet.
Arena net said the season ended on Monday, Febuary 6th, Arena net always uses GMT time zone, the season ended on time and it was announced when it was ending even before the season started, if you were unsure of which time zone Arena net uses, you can google it and find out.
Sounds like something most pvpers who get to legendary division wont even use, all 15 of them.
2k damage on Trueshot is a joke…vs classes running viper or other non toughness gear.
Dear Anet, how is the dragonhunter supposed to survive in this spam fest and CC heavy environment. The dragonhunter has absolutely the worst survivability right now with close to no pressure, nerfed burst and pretty much 0 party support.
The only useful ability, F3, is on such a hefty cooldown that it can very well make no difference in a team fight dragging more than 10 seconds.
Dragonhunter lacks:
- Pressure : once you get off that lovely #2 + trap combo burst which will most likely be evaded you are left with bow attacks which tickle and no CC. Not to mention scrappers and eles are bathing in Projectile defense right now. I want to pull my hair whenever i see a scrapper and an ele on the other team…
- CC: F1 pull fails more often than you know, not to mention the actual pull is nicely countered by stability now…which most classes have. I guess Anet forgot this is not 2014 anymore
- Survivability: DH make lovely focus targets. It is so easy to make a DH go defensive and pretty much turn into a HP spunge while they are frantically burning their cooldowns followed by going down soon after. DH survivability is based on outdated mechanics. such as shelter, Renewed focus, and Medi heals…other classes have much much stronger survival tools.Everyone pretty much agrees the DH nerfs were unwarranted and left the class in a sad state. Nerfing our main burst option is unacceptable when the DH lacks so much. The buff to #3 and #4 are ok on paper but NOT on actual gameplay.
Please Anet, the DH is completely shut down the moment one faces opponents of average skill lvl and above
Such a sad state that you can still play 3x+ DH in a match at 1800 mmr and still win, Dh is one of the best classes at the moment in spvp.
Let’s look at the pros and cons of dragon hunters
Pros: High aoe burst damage, high survivability, team support, lots of stability, lots of healing and condition cleanses, capable of dealing ranged and melee damage, decent cc with LB #5. and excellent kiting with LB #3. Projectile prevention(with f3) and most classes can’t 1v1 you while standing on a point due to traps. As well as having 4 viable builds at high rating.
Cons: mediocore mobility, bad sustained damage unless you’re playing a burn build.
SoloQ only and a separate 5 Q mode.

When is changing characters during a match actually going to give you dishonor and lock you out of the game, currently you can die off point, enemy team can keep you there dead, but you can simply change characters and respawn instantly with no penalty, it says it’s going to give you 16 minutes of dishonor, but it doesn’t, and changing characters like that should be considered cheating.
Anet doesnt want gw2 to be even less of an esport when it’s 4 dh 1 ele vs 4 dh 1 ele, exciting gameplay.
I had a match in foefire on gold – while i was still in gold – where we were up 380 to 120. Were holding 2 of 3 points. Enemy thief dings our door, and 3 guys on my team start freaking out. I’m trying to tell them that it doesnt matter, just hold the points. Lord only gives 150 pts, but they claimed if we lose lord, we lose game. They rush back, thief just kites them, while we end up 2v4 for rest of map. They triple cap, eventually get to 350 pts and then rush lord. We lose and those 3 guys blame me for not defending lord.
I dont understand how you can make it to gold and not know the mechanics of each map.
Because you can go 5-5 in your placement matches and be at 1550 rating and have played the game for 2 days and happened to get lucky with teams, this current pvp season system is absolute garbage.
Problem is even at gold 1 you still queue into people at legend 2, kitten mmr is kitten.
It also makes win trading easier, the current leaderboards are all skewed from people win trading & throwing matches on alts for others mains, changing it to solo queue onlly makes more sense and will also make cheating harder.
I agree they shouldn’t be removed but they should be earned ascended armor/weapons/trinkets with selectable stats shouldn’t be farmable by losing matches I personally would rather win my matches so I can get the gear w/o having to throw 300 straight matches the time invested to lose all those matches to get a pip or 2 at a time Well lets just say “Aint no one got time for that” * at least I hope no one has time for that
Exactly, playing Spvp for gear that is only useful in PVE, it makes no sense, if they wanted pvpers to have the skin, make it a skin, not an item with stats.
You can walk into Spvp, do your 10 placement matches, be placed in bottom tier gold, queue into anyone from 1500-2200, have hardly an idea of how to pvp, dont care if you win or lose, because either way you’re going to get free ez ascended gear, honestly if i was more of a pve player i might be upset by how easy this is to get, maybe next season Anet should hand out free old Legendary weapons next while they’re at it.
I highly doubt that Ninski, actually, i not only doubt that, i’m a 100% certain that as soon as you’d have to wait that long for a queue to get you into a round you’d go to another game and tell A-Net with the most heinous language that they destroyed the game.
I used to sit in ranked queues for over an hour with the old pvp system, I was legendary every season within the first 2-3 weeks, sometimes there was only 15-20 people that grinded to diamond\legend in that time period as well.
so if all the pve players leave and the player base shrinks your still going to be complaining about being matched down in mmr except instead of 1900 with 1600 itl be 1800 with 1500 unless you want to wait an hour for a match
I’d much rather wait an hour in queue like the old system and queue into the same 50 people at my MMR then waste time queuing with people feeding for ascended.
I really think the best change for pvp would be to make the Ascended armor just a skin, tbh there’s too much dead weight in half of my matches this season.

Would be nice if it gave an aura or something special, the Ice dragon wings from the gem store are comparable to it in terms of look and particle effects. I also feel like it’s lacking.
Come on NA, thief is less OP here because there is 4+ DHs per game. Most games are decided by which team has the most DHs.
I went to Na to trial it 3 years ago. There was no even semi competent players. Even NAs high rated players were awful. I doubt it has changed.

Seems like after they made it so you need 50 games to be placed on the leaderboards that rating gain seems very low. I queue’d ranked at bad hours the other night on accident and lost 80 rating, and now it’s 9-14 rating each win, doesn’t make any sense especially when the players im fighting are in the top 50-100.
Anyone noticing this decreased rating won from matches? I used to get at least 25 + rating from beating teams where the majority of people are 1850+, now I get 9-14.

Merge NA and EU and it will be, there’s already players playing from both regions anyways, if that’s really what’s holding them back.
I’m a bit confused on this current ranked system, you can only solo queue and duo queue, 2 duo queues can get put on the same team while the opposing team is all solo queues. You can’t form teams to queue and play competitive with organized team comps. Is this current ranked system really accomplishing anything? It’s just luck of the draw, or whoever can carry the hardest. It’s hardly “competitive”. In my opinion there should be a Ranked for team queue ( 2-5 man) and Solo queue only. Having a team queue gives solo queue players the opportunity to play the luck of the draw game, and Team queue allows people to meet others and form teams \ merge groups.

I think that the amount of rating you lose when you lose a game is a bit too high in general. Weren’t there people near the beginning of the season losing 40+ rating after losing a game to higher ranked players? I’m pretty sure I saw a few threads complaining about that
Yep the systems garbage right now, you’re punished for being higher rated because you will lose more if you lose, and wether you’re 1600 or 2200 you’re queuing with and against the same people.
Edit: the only reason people are such high rated right now as well is because of placement matches placing people with high win\loss ratios during it at ridiculously high ratings, it’s nearly impossible to grind back up once you’ve been knocked down unless you play hundreds of games.

At least make it so 2 DUO queues cant be on the same team.
All they need to do is remove all high offensive and high defensive capabilities from the same skills, or kitten them like Blurred Frenzy or Pistol Whip no one really complains about those skills because they do mediocre damage are rooted with large precast and after cast in regards to PW I don’t believe Blurred Frenzy hasn’t much of a precast. But those skills sacrifice and make the user vulnerable while skills like Vault and pre-nerf SoTM did not, then they could also take it a step further that if you have any invuln style affect that you can deal/apply damage while under said affect. The balance in this game is a joke, I can only wish for a complete overhaul that will never come.
There is too much sustain and too much damage on top of AoE and Cc spam and passives that due nothing to promote skillful gameplay.
Yeah nobody complains about Pistol Whip because nobody plays sword\pistol anymore because it got nerfed and blurred frenzy is used more as an invuln rather then damage because the current mesmer meta is based around condition damage rather then shatter burst. Blurred Frenzy still hits hard if people are playing GS\sword\shield zerker shatter.
If you’re struggling being able to fight this build I encourage you to play it and see its weaknesses, it’s pretty silly making a forum post about a build that isnt even used in high level play, vault spam thief is a bad crusher build that you can use to kill noobs who hold down their S key and waste dodges. If you wanted vault spam to be sort of viable at high level play you’d have to pick up acrobatics for more survivability and you’d lose a ton of damage. ( Your vaults hit for 4-6k with Acro. )
Vault thief is very easy to beat, both vault and bound are very predictable. The only time you’re ever going to get destroyed by them is if you’re not paying attention, D\P thief is still higher burst, utility and mobility then vault spam.
I have a small problem, I didn’t have as badly last season as I do now.
I can hardly do anything as a warrior anymore.
All CC is useless because all I see is ‘immune’ every swing of my hammer, every stomp of my feet.
If I want to fight casters, guardians or.. well, almost anything, I have to sacrifice all my utility slots for 5 seconds of immunity to all the endless rain of conditions and controls other classes can spout endlessly.Long story short, conditions have become so useful and spammable there’s hardly any point in trying to cure or defect them, because they can swing 10 conditions on me, I cure it, and a second later all those conditions are back.
Please, I have loved using the warrior in all seasons until now, but this season I am like a fish on land, anyone else having this problem?

If they eliminated class stacking from ranked it would solve a lot of problems with not only class balance, but also match making, in my opinion. Think about how many matches you’ve had where there’s 2 thiefs that can’t switch and you just cant team fight.
can anyone explain me why you think dh is op ? they are too slow to have any impact on rotations, they arent the best duelist either, so only teamfighting left. In teamfights you usually encounter the enemy support, an elementalist, who will permanently block all your projectiles and reduce your damage by 40% through high protection uptime on his team.
As you see dh doesn´t even fill into any role to really shine. Now tell me what exactly the problem with dh´s strength is ?
DH has great support with high burst, they can drop traps on downed enemies and friendlies, they have a ton of survival and 4 different viable specs for high mmr ranked play and theyre stronger in groups, if your team has 1 DH it isnt that much of a problem, but when you class stack it just becomes absurd.
Plat T2 almost T3, lose 40-60 rating, gain 10-20, pretty fair system, especially when the team I beat has players at 1900+ on it.
It’s okay Anet will just crown them the " God of PvP " nice game.
You honestly think someone would repurchase this game after they were banned. Just to grind back all of their gear and levels. If you wanna shrink the community banning is a great idea.
When people break the rules they deserve to be banned and most players will re purchase the game.
nothings more frustrating then queuing at 1800 rating and someone on your team rage quits and runs around your base talking kitten in chat, lose the game and lose 60 rating, win another game, get 11 rating back. More players pema banned = more hot accounts that will be purchased, I feel like reporting someone in guild wars 2 is useless unless you open a support ticket about it.

It’s 3 burns on judge’s intervention and condi guard probably excels more than any other class on condi cleave bombs due to permeating wrath but it requires targets to be close to eachother. I think pp engi does burst condi better than burn guard on single target though, and condi necro is ultimately better at condi cleave due to the higher volume of condis and also the benefits of boon corruption, it’s just as not as fast as a burn guard.
Yep and both P\P engi and necro have far more counters to them, Burn guardians can live forever, they’re extremely tanky with tons of condi cleanse, boons and CC.

I think that the issue with burn guardians is that they work very well as a planned pair.
I ran into a pair of them a while back, queued up together and they shared a build that allowed them to slap massive amounts of burning down, instantly, on a called target. It was enough to kill me instantly and I`m a hefty, tanky necro that is used to surviving heavy focus. I died in about a second and a half.
Fortunately, I had the shout that shunts conditions onto enemies and I started watching for the burn stacks and immediately using it to give them right back. Sure enough, they started dropping instantly and I didn’t. However, that shout wasn’t available all the time and had I not had it, I would have been helpless.
Do I feel it needs nerfing? No. It is highly effective, but there are counters and counterplay to it. Its like a heavy rifle warrior or pistol thief, it gives up a fair bit and once you see it in action, its possible to act against it to the point where it becomes a liability to the user. Its also interesting in that it encourages teamplay and a team build, which should be fairly rewarded.
I find it hard to believe that the guardian melted from their own burns, they have tons of condi cleanses, and one of their main sources of burning is from Purging Flames and that also cleanses condis on themselves. Though that story could be from unranked\ low mmr and at that point it doesn’t matter because people dont know how to play anyways.

They can’t drop their traps twice on a point, that’s just wrong. What they can do however, is put down new traps the moment you trigger the old ones (assuming the traps are off cooldown).
The 12 stacks of burning are only achieved if you allow the guardian to put every single supply of burning he has available on you. Why do you even let him get to that point? Why don’t you use a condi-cleanse after he put his strongest burns on you?
And have you even considered that Pain Absorption can be cast BEFORE the guardian puts ALL his burn stacks on you? No? Maybe you should try that next time.

mender runes had power and prec, the only thing that prevent mender eles doing damage is presure, they had to be sticky in defensive rotation, but if one can freecast for a feew seconds they can do dps
the main source of damage for bunker druids is the pet,,, and surprise the pet does the same damage on bunkers builds that in power builds
D\D ele power with sigils does more dps then menders bunker ele lol, eles do not have ridiculous amounts of damage while still being tanky, they have to pick one or the other, which DH does not if chosen to. And yeah, their pet dps is the only real damage they have, and a turtle shooting spikes at you for 10 seconds is pretty easy to avoid, if that pet was a burn guardian, you would have 5 stacks of burns on the first hit that would quickily tick on you for over 3k damage per burn.

i dont think the number of games played is the problem its the placement rating system, they need to cap it at Gold and not allow players to go 10-0 and be at 2150 rating, They also should make it so you need at least 50 games played in order to be eligible for rewards in the top 250 on the leaderboard, I think that would be a pretty fair system.
Just wait till you’re in the top 100 for ranked and queue into anyone in Platinum, if you win a game you get 11 rating, and if you lose, 60 gone.
Well at least the helms on the set are ugly, can skip them for now.
