This really kittened me off, I don’t mind if they fixed the 1-shot WOR, but WHY THE kitten would they change this, just to make it impossible to melee!? I mean what the kitten am I supposed to do with my warrior now?? She used to have 1 job, do Arah, now she is completely useless! kitten MY LIFE and kitten ARENANET.

the whole gauntlet thingie is bugged – 800 gauntlets (7 tokens each) give you 800 tokkens……how not to feel properly rewarded – 5.6k tokens to get 800 more ….. ty anet soo generous a dream come true!

in summa: you farm tokens – to kill bosses – to get tokens…..astonishing sequence where the most funny is you use 7 tokens for 1 ticket to get 1 token reward rofl!!!

I would really like to play with largos…but nooo!!!! lets play all the kittened races in tyria !! go go anet suras (rats) and charr ( cats) were 1st, birds next then what – dredges, hylek, skritt, in the end we will have guardian mutated potatoes….( or warriors actually if we follow the tendency).
It was the same in gw 1 all the stunning races like margonites were only evil , even they showed some chances for redemption.
to all those strong reason agains making largos playable race – nosense. Suras were also underground race bla bla not showing on the surface bla bla…untill they decided to make disney land in tyria and ta daaaa!! we have playable sura.
so lets put is simply – largos would be awesome addition that will break the stupid tendency of picking only lesser races and maybe in time we will have margonites!!!!!!!!!

There are so many small problems that are contributing to the big picture that I’ve sadly lost hope in the class. As it is, the only reason I use my ranger is to hunt roaming gangs of bots, report them, and then run alongside them until they get banned, it’s fun to time it, like watching paint dry. I’ve just stopped defending the class, I may enjoy it but it is far from being at its potential, and this notion of damage > survivability: thieves do more damage, have more tricks and don’t lose dps from a dead pet.
Hopefully the aforementioned non-existent updates will come one day.
you are totally wrong tho i don’t have a ranger and i dont know what exactly you are complaining about. Thieves do more damage only if with suitable armor which makes em vulnerable, also in melee distance. Tricks and skills generally depend on trait arrangement so “more” hardly means anything. and now about the pets well go wvw and see 100 rangers with their pets what they are doing you can’t find target because all you see is 1) Mesmers copies ( great decision anet other classes will fight cowardly mesmer illusions because every 2nd person plays Me. maybe name it MevMe battle ballance – 0% ), 2) pets….
so stop complaining about some ranger nerf, just start mesmer or guard that uses 7 boons and heals when dodging. and hope devs finally decide to see the reality – that there is no class balance just empty promises and bs talking that make ppl just more and more angry.

i mean its the same as possibility. The final result will be always 1 weapon. tho the crafting system might need some changes in order to see the complete weapon. again i agree its rly lot of work but we are talking about the weapons that are supposed to be the highest achievement. also one of the main ideas in gw2 is unique style and current weapons do exactly the opposite – they unify. And again its just an idea , its realization depends on that how willing are devs to make something really unique. In the end players will play with what they create.
No, it’s not the same, as armor slots have very specific locations, such as heavy armor chest pieces never extending under waist, and even then, many armor pieces clip with armor of other sets, or even with armor of the same set. The game doesn’t have a multi-piece weapon system build to it, so each of those weapon part combinations would have to be individually created.
10 hilts, 10 blades and 10 effects would result in a thousand weapons that would each have to be created individually and checked for glitches. While the idea is cool, it’d require far too much work for it to be realistic.
Isn’t it the same with armor?!?!? many many combinations + to lower daggers and swords can share skins also long bows and bows , pistols and rifles thats almost everything /2
Sounds comlpicated, not just from a player perspective but I think I understand.
Basicly you would collect:
1 gift for hilt/weapon skin
1 gift for the blade skin
1 gift for the visual effects/footprints etc
precursor for weapon typeAs I dont really like any legendary at the moment, (I main an ele and now i can preview bifrost and incinerator I really dont want them) I would be tempted if it was unique like this.
No i imagines it as 2 recipes – hilt and blade make 1 gift that replaces the precursor
so you have :
1.1 hilt
1.2 blade
2. effect
3. gift of fortune as its now
4. gift of mastery as its now

this time i won’t complain about anything but try to suggest a different crafting system for weapons, legendary or not.
1st want to start with what we actually have in game:
– 3 great swords while only one of the other weapons.
– some extremely ugly or inappropriate weapon skins for the different classes ( thief shooting rainbows!?!?! or the pistols tat look like a sugar cookies)
– there are some nice weapons but in order to play with em you have to use special class ( so if you want to enjoy twilight’s effects go W Me or G) discriminating in my opinion.
– sometimes you like something about the weapon ( for example i adore incinerator’s blade and hate the hilt, or i like twilight’s darkness effect but dislike the sword skin itself).
– as long term achievement legendary weapons have 0 back up ideas behind em. No story of the weapons, nothing just some animated skin….
– very hard to get precursors even if you have to buy em ( almost impossible for not 10000% dedicated payers ….and i thought you want to lower the grinding but lately i joined 3 guilds and people there were grinding to death to get legendary)
Now my preposition is probably not new and many of the gamers are familiar with such systems. Also i’m very willing and open for some brainstorming so we can push that idea forward. And now to the point:
– instead of precursor there might be 2 more crafting recipes for weapon parts ( hilt and blade for example or bow and strings and so on…) the recipes can be hard to keep the crafting and obtaining the weapon end game achievement.
– the gift recipes ( gift of incinerator for example) can be replaced for effect recipes.This way ppl will be able to create unique weapon fitting their visions about the visual appearance of their characters similar to the armor sets. Imagine incinerator’s blade but with shadow effect of twilight and maybe twilight’s handle….
you wanted unique experience but so far no matter the armors and the many char creation options, your end game achievement is same to everyone. eery one is running with same swords and bows around and they aren’t even soo hard to obtain as you imagined.
choosing between 10 hilts, 10 blades and 10 effects might give a lot more motivation to the ppl to get the weapon and even further i think they will enjoy it much much more.

just did AC all paths after the update… another kitten experience….3 rage quitters( 2 of the times hosts) ppl dying like flies… Even tho p1 and 2 were tolerable. P3 is horrible. So my question is once again – Why are you making a game?!?! to make ppl angry?? its getting more and more discriminating in dungeons and they are impossible for pug teams.. you want it hard?!?! challenging?? hello?!?! why then announcing such crappy stories about playable by all? half my team doesn’t speak english , others are young and don’t even try to think or understand, some don’t even want to learn in summa: dunegons are for high organized parties bye bye 60% of the players fo play tettris because our game is for pro only and 198371-members-guilds where you have a chance to find decent players.
2nd you said playable by all classes! this game has horrible class balance! warriors here guardians there. but to return on AC:
p1 – as thief on burrows part my bow skills reported constantly out of range or obstructed even tho i was IN the burrow ( a bug???) “lf1m Ele if possible !” nice anet rly nice!! playable by all ( Eles in this case). End boss – being attacked by 6 knockdown foes and later aoe having only 1 stability skill yay! fun fun fun!! still its possible….
p3 – grast was late with his shield skill, so we were killed then sometimes he managed to cast it…hope that’s a bug and you’ll fix it soon…
do you rly think someone falls for that " you are hero and that’s your story" i feel totally hero when playing with 4 more players to kill single asura that has100 times my health and kills me in 2 hits. Heroic to the core! Have to be rly delusional to think like that..or 5 yo….
Last of all before start talking about elitism and challenging and so on… check little psychlogy .. what they say about self esteem! only biggest losers build their esteem on fetish idols ( in game weapons armors titles and so on). its a game and its supposed to be fun.Not too easy but not hard and boring. Even more its mmo game where the ppl are too random and also depends on internet connections( d/c, laggin are problems that can fail you and your actual came design makes its even worse). so maybe before you keep nerf things in order to be more challenging put some more thinking in it… not only challenging challenging ohh its too easy ohh i’m bored too easy … some pll play just for fun! not to be gw millionaires with ugly legendaries( dnt even want to start talking about the weapon designs).

Waiting for 10 minutes because you died at the beginning of a boss battle due to a stupid error is not fun. Neither is getting spoon fed ‘success’ without a high likely-hood of failure.
Ill take one ‘I died, and had to wait’ un-fun run once in a while over EVERY run being a trivial boring time sink.
I see that you don’t get it at all. What i said is :
1. Some ppl have the time to wait some doesn’t. You cant judge em equally. Opportunities.
2. ‘I died, and had to wait’ is exactly what anet said they want to change because by their own words is unpleasant and boring experience.
3. My words apply to majority if the players and the PUG teams. Good guilds are well organized and always can make smooth runs, so to them this question is irrelevant. If they are soo good they wont die and wont need WP. Thus the update affects unly less skilled players or little mistakes. To believe that Anet did this to make the players more skilled is to say the least delusional.
4. In last few days i had too much rage quiters and too much angry ppl playing with. And like you said on the other topic "there always gonna be “fools”, so how exactly this will make the fools to be better?!? It just wont.
besides spoon feed success?!?! for me personally fun is playing without dying. not the loot not, not the speed not the prestige is important.
Some facts – you cant res fallen in the lava players ( and the boss dies extremely slow) in cof p3. Most of players cant res in CoE ( almost impossible to res in CoE p3). Finally i personally extremely hate exploits but the harder it becomes more players are searching for bugs and exploits in the game like CM p1( one guy even posted a pic above), skip 1st alpha in all CoE paths , p2 directly to p3 later and probably many more that i don’t know ( that’s way beyond boring and pathetic than having a trivial but story-going run) . This is how in real life such forceful updates change ppl, they don’t make em more honest or helpful.
Personally I love where this patch is forcing the game to go. It makes people look at the best way to approach things and adds penalty to being dumb. I have had PUG groups that kept zombie zerging certain parts in AC and were getting no where, that wouldn’t happen now because you are forced to stay together and work collectively more. Yeah it sucks when the tiny screw ups or cheap mechanics get you but over all it isn’t too bad.
I couldn’t disagree more with what you said. Many players die because little errors( like little lag or 1 min d/c), i saw quite skilled players dying many times with no chance to res anymore – are they all dumb?!?!. Also, sometimes the environment doesn’t allow res (take cof p3 final boss where if you die in lava and no one can res you – then 30 min waiting). Forcing players to play carefully when there are external environmental things that might distract them is ridiculous. And the punishment of waiting is too hard. Not everyone can be 100% into the game and anet doesn’t have the right to demand it!
The term " Casual player" is kitten and those who use it think themselves like being more than others ( not my job to judge about this, but it says that you have the time and desire to play while there are many ppl that don’t have so much time and play for fun)! Its majority of the players….so as i wrote in the other post…what should they do gather herbs?!?!?
its not about the loot. i personally never cared much about prestige! Oh yea i’m a game millionaire – spare me! its bout the fun and waiting 10 min for res or 30 min for wipe is pretty far from funny.
In the end Anet promoted the game as different where ppl won’t wait for monks to res them, wont grind for loot ( all players who had legendaries in 2 months didnt grind? yes! they made em with 1-2h a day), and most of all will be able to play the way they see fit. And here you said it “the update forces the game in 1 direction” which is exactly the opposite of their announced intentions. It not about me or you, its about what happens to the majority of the players most of the time.
you keep babbling about how ppl will care about the others but that never happens – so welcome to the real world! ppl rage quit, kick others, searching for exploits( like skiping parts and such), and discriminate classes.

Its not about your ego!( im not allowed to be rude!) PPl want either fun either loot so wake up – you are an mean to an end and no one plays to appreciate your skills except your friends maybe or to flatter your ego. Further more since they forced revive in such rude way ppl will demand it from you , no one has to be grateful when he/she doesn’t have other options. When you create a post try to be at least little objective because in your coment i see nothing but " i this , i that".

NO. Each ‘profession’ is viable in every ‘ROLE’, but you must still have a team that covers every ‘role’ to some degree. (support, control, dps).
Actually I believe even the selfish players will rez you now. Selfish players want to get stuff done faster, and 2 maning a boss is pretty slow. It is now in a selfish players best interests to rez you as soon as your down, and help to keep you in the fight.
1.All i said is not about what you think or believe. it is about what anet announced when they were releasing the game , about their goals and the fact they are turning away from them after few months. DOABLE BY EVERYONE excludes too-hard-for-pro-teams-only. Laying dead waiting for revive if possible ( try to revive ppl at alpha on p3 or p2; or even more have a stupid d/c in the middle of fight with it.) is the opposite of " a down system where you either pay for a WP either wait for revive" .
2. What you believe is irrelevant because i already said what happened to me today – i laid dead for 30 min while 1 team player tried to solo the alpha! So don’t tell me what would selfish ppl do. Also for the last day i had 3 parties with rage-quitters ( that never happened before to me, not even once). Beside the should be doable in may ways not only by selected classes with special builds – it kills the fun . If i prefer to play with daggers the game should be doable with daggers not forcing me to play with sword or bow. Or maybe i should gather iron with daggers?!?!
Also many of my friends don’t have all day and they log to play just for fun for 2-3 h, 2 days in the week. So you suggest they should gather onion and herbs!!?! because they don’t have the time to learn?!?!
I agree that dungeons are hard enemies are tougher, but making ppl waiting for revive ( if revive is posible at all) , is a way harsher punishemnt for small errors and in my case sudden d/c, so my complain is only about the WP changes. Everything else was perfect.
i’m not a fan of the big speeches so ill try to be short. With the last update Anet are turning away from few basic things they previously announced as their goals.
1. “Because each profession is so versatile and has such a wide range of skills and powers, it doesn’t matter what mix of professions are on the battlefield.” with the increasing of the difficulty there is increasing need of special classes and soon there will be " LFG only Mesmers and Warriors" . As and example take p2 CoF where the need of AoE is increasing.
2. The WP changes. If i remember correctly anet was strongly against lying dead waiting for resurrection ( in this case revive) and now…..! Here i want to make personal example – died on Alpha because of d/c then had to wait 30 min!!!! until the last party member fall down??!?! And what if in the PUG team the members aren’t completely friendly?!?!? So i have to wait for the last-selfish-hero-type to decide to back off from combat so i can use WP??!? and thats just because i had d/c?!?! + subject alpha doesn’t give you much time to revive fallen players specially on p2 and p3… in the end a little mistake and you have to wait or do boss over and over again…. I doubt thats someone’s idea of fun!
i think this update will only increase the discrimination between players and in the end will deprive the other less playing to enjoy all gw2 content.
Dungeons were fun no matter how difficult they are because no matter the deaths you can join and PLAY! now a simple mistake makes them most boring part of the game.
So PUG teams can now go around map and collect herbs and try to feel like playing something… Half my guild left gw2 because of updates like this one and same happened in GW years ago. Cheers to all the PRO-s. who enjoy that will be fun watching em showing off in their own self-acclaimed guilds.
