So I am looking for a good suggestion or general cookie cutter idea on where to start with my ranger. I will mostly be focusing on pve and wvw now and then. I wan’t a build that is lazy…yes I said it “lazy”. Highly reliant on pets and maybe some spam happiness.

Any ideas?

No one can tell you how many years a game has, because no one has a crystal ball. But the population seems quite healthy in every game mode.

There was a bit of a content drought recently, but with the July patch, a lot of people have started playing to experience the new content. This is normal for the game.

People take breaks, they come back as new content is released.

However, even at it’s lowest ebb, there were plenty of people playing.

Sounds promising. The reason I asked is I would get disappointed if I started back up and it shut down not long after lol.

You guys probably see this a lot but I was wondering how the population was doing and does this game have a few more years in it before I start back up.

Just now trying the revenant out and I have a few questions:

1. What is the usual MH/OH combo for the revenant in pve/dungeon builds and do you have any decent link to cookie cutter ideas for it?

2. What crafting skills should I go for as a revenant?

So I wanted to build a Vampire build kinda using an Axe/Focus weapon combo(because I like the axe). For PvE but I have no clue where to start really. Got any ideas and should I focus more towards power or condi…I was thinking Power/Precision/Ferocity.

What stat effects illusion/clone damage?

Whats the best weapon to use if you plan on rolling your Mesmer a little more on the support side for PvP/WvW?

So I have always really been a healer/support in every MMO, however it seems GW 2 does not cater to these roles as much as most MMOs (not a bad thing). But I was wondering if there was a profession I could roll with a lot of support/buff group qualities that would make me valuable to a team while still allowing me to avoid a lot of “in the thick of things” moments.

You mentioned that you don’t do credit cards, but buying through the GW2 store offers PayPal as an option as well.

Problem is, it says Gamestop is an aythorized retailer in the usa. However I went into 3 of my areas gamestops and ALL 3 said they are not only NOT taking pre-orders or pre-purchases for the expansion but they are not even doing the digital ones in store ONLY online for the digital. So for hardcopy at least in my area that is false within an hour and a half radius.

I think the Gamestop editions are download only, at least from the ones I found here. Its download information from that page reads:

“Games can be downloaded directly to your PC. After purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to download and install the game.”

It does also seem quite helpful in how to download it from there in case your connection is lost during the download and such, so there shouldn’t be any worry about downloading from there if you wish.

I am not a US resident, so I’m afraid I don’t know of any retailers over there that sell hard copies, so I hope that someone else on these forums will help you out in that regard. I am quite positive you have two or more months at the least to found a retailer that sells a physical copy.

So crafting in this game seems highly deep compared to other games with the recipe discovery aspect of the system. Is crafting meant to take up A LOT of time in this game?

1. Brown Bear (condi clear) or Black Bear (AoE weakness).

2. Guardian Staff is the best ranged weapon for PvE, which is why it is called the “Loot Stick”. For Ranger, it depends on what you are doing. If it’s farming single mobs for particular mats, LB is king, if it is events/groups of mobs, Axe or GS.

3. Depends on what weapons you play, where and what you are doing. Generally, zerker, if you want to play condition builds, Sinister.

What about core skills? Most of those builds only cover core specialization points.

I bought this game many months back but never really gave it a chance and never did more then a couple of quests…so a few days ago after trying many other mmorpgs I came back to give GW2 a serious shot. Basically what I am looking for in a guild is:

1. PvE focused guild.

2. Social and Friendly (this does not mean they can not have fun just that I prefer not to be associated with people that troll 24/7 and never play the game)

3. Some form of voice chat

4. Maybe some events or sense of togetherness within the guild.

What I am personally focused on will be:

1. Dungeons and clearing PvE content like 100% map completion and things of that nature.

2. Crafting and gearing up.

3. Helping others once I am 80

4. General socialization.

Right now I am lvl 26 and have Caledon forest, Metrica province, Brisban Wildlands , Rata Sum and The grove at 100% map completion. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have a few questions about PvE Rangers.

1. What pet is generally the tankiest?

2. Which ranged weapon class is generally better for PvE?

3. What stats on my gear should I focus the most emphasis on?

4. Are there any reliable builds out there for PvE Rangers?

Correct as Anet have stated many many times and apparently people don’t understand the words “We don’t have a release date yet once we have one you will have one” how many times do anet need to say this.

You can contact the CS Team, and they will replace the armor (usually just once). The Mithril Box and Boosters will transfer over.

I forgot to mention that deleting your characters and transferring that way is at no cost, and that you can only do so once every 7 (seven) days. Your first choice (Darkhaven) would count as once in 7 days.

But, your wife could get started on the new Server of choice, while waiting for you.

Why do they make everything so hard? This has pretty much discouraged us from wanting to play at all now.

Basically what you are telling me. I have to wait for another 2 days to be able to transfer (as does my wife being as the entire plan was to play together). I also have to contact customer service for a new armor set (which they know is hardly worth my effort being as by level 10 it is worthless).

Not trying to sound ungrateful to your help as your info is helpful but the way ArenaNet handles things is probably the hardest customer service and basic start up function experience I have had and I have played A LOT of MMORPGs. Particularly for a couple that plays together. They need some kind of “Register together” option or something pretty much guaranteeing that we can get on the same server.

You can delete all your characters, put everything non-soulbound in the bank, and transfer to another Server that is not full, or…

You can wait until Darkhaven is not Full, and have your wife join you. It could be a short time, or it could take a few days.

If I do this I lose my heroic stuff i got on my character that I have used already do I not?

So me and the wife bought 2 heroic editions to this game. I registered to Darkhaven and now it is full (and has been for over 24 hours). So now we can can play together through the megaserver stuff but what about WvW and things of that matter? I feel like I wasted $80 bucks on this game now and am actually really disappointed.

(I have checked the server EVERY hour for 24 hours at the expense of sleep just to try and get her registered to Darkhaven but to no avail.)

How long does it take a brand new player just to gather 1 gold?

We are a couple in our mid to late 20’s and are looking for a guild with people in the 20-30’s age bracket. Preferably not a guild that has a bunch of people cursing and being crude like a bunch of ticked off sailors although we do not mind cursing and mature content we don’t want ever other word to be something ignorant.

We are both brand new to the game with lots of questions and would like a guild willing to answer questions and be friendly. We chose Darkhaven and I think we are going to stick with it so preferably a guild based there.

What stats should i prioritize on my gear for a dagger necro?

PVE dungeons have enemies tossing out 10k damage AoEs, which pets just get murdered by.

This saddens me, the only reason I rolled necro was to play this type of build. But I do want to do dungeons and stuff so I guess i need to go back to the drawing board.

I feel like I am just trying to fill out the map while doing events. I am only level 9 but I am unsure as to what I should actually be doing besides following the events where they take me and filling out the map lol.

Is this basically what i “should” be doing this early in the game or am i missing something?

I play on the Dark Haven server and I am very new to this game but would like to meet some people willing to answer questions and things in game so I can learn when I am on. I plan on playing more casually (maybe a few hours a day for now) because I am waiting on my wife to get her PC fixed because the original plan was to play together but her PC went out and is in for repairs.

Anyways any friendly people would be nice to meet.

I am getting excited and I am at 76%…I am in the US so do you guys have any suggestions on a server to chose?

I mostly want to focus on casual PvE maybe PvP once I get going for a few months and maybe one of the smaller servers or newer ones. I want to grow with the community I am playing with and not be overwhelmed by the numbers but still be able to meet people.

You’ll need to contact the store you bought it from and see if they didn’t sell you the wrong thing. Was it opened in any way before you purchased it? Was it completely sealed? If not, someone might have opened it and switched the key from a regular edition.

Not opened, completely sealed…However it is opened now because I opened it and Wal-Mart will not refund games if they have been opened anymore. I had a similar issue with a PS3 game a few years ago.

Will not having those items hurt me a lot?

Hello I just bought the Heroic Edition from Wal-Mart, However when I registered this game it only shows up as the Regular edition. I am currently installing so I am not sure yet if I got what I paid for. But what do I do if I do not get the extra stuff from buying the heroic edition?

So me and the wife both got copies of GW2 and I have a lot of questions to ask while downloading so here it goes:

1. Is the game still alive and well?

2. Will the future expansion be adding more system requirements then the current version requires? (other then the usual HD space I mean. More talking about graphics and such)

3. How casual friendly is the game?

4. I am used to playing a Healer/Support role in MMORPGs…so what profession should i use?
