guyz whats the problem here? so you play less...
rewards and armors will stay forever whats the rush?? You’ll eventually get there, just slower. just keep logging in and play at least to finish wooden one which is about 2h of playtime, if you devide that per week its like 20-30 mins of wvw per day, plus you can do whole dailies in wvw
just dig in, eventually you’ll get what you want

As a dedicated veteran player (almost 20k AP) i feel scammed by the price.
Not only we get to buy a game again, we get no char slot (assuming we buy the 50€ one) AND the worst thing is, we don’t know what content we’ll get. You got charr slot in GW1, when you bought the expansion.

I and many others (as hearing in TS) on Piken Square (EU) have similar problems as this video shows.

So in short, its either:
- skill can’t be activated, when used/pressed
- skill is activated after several seconds later after pressed
- often rubberbanding, players are skipping from one place to another, while walking straight

I belive the skill lags are caused by the new stability calculations.

Lags are most likely cuz server has to calculate all those stability stacks, i personally dont expect lags will be gone unless changes to it will be reversed.

First question It will get fixed when it get fixed not like they can instantly see whats wrong and say yea this will take 2 hours.
Second question How in hell are they supposed to know that mate stuff happens when you add code.

What about backtracking all the stuff they’ve done in their “update” and find out who/why messed up the guild banks.
Not to mention the guy who messed up should be sanctioned. Oh w8.. in your opinion he should be awarded for doing half of his job?
Sometimes i really ask myself if the coders know what they are doing, and if they dont, why not?

Feedback on Ranger Changes

Underwhelming.

Pet HP/Toughness was never really the issue, the problem is and always will be that pets are too dumb to evade attacks. Just took Ranger for a spin in the new Dungeon, Canines and Drakes are still more dead than alive for most of the fights. I was running 0 BM and didn’t bring Guard, but be honest, if I have to stack trait points in BM AND be forced to bring a skill to make pets useful, you’re admitting the Ranger Pet still needs help badly. It’s a big buff for general PvE roaming, but really, that’s not where the issue is. It’s in Dungeons, FotM and WvW, where pets die because everything hits like a truck or several small trucks.

Tried equipping a Spirit. Unequipped it a minute later. It still dies when something farts in it’s general direction.

The QZ buff is “nice”, but not ranger specific, all classes got a similar buff. To make it worse, QZ is still bugged for Shortbow (31% speed increase instead of 50%).

Longbow and GS saw no changes, neither did any of the other weapons badly in need of buffs. No changes to our trait lines either like Warrior got.

Search and Rescue no longer works on defeated players, which is a shame. We could only use this skill for a month because of the bugs, now they take away the best part of it. Back to the pile of terrible skills it goes.

To be honest, this may have been a step in the right direction, but ANet is going to have to make huge leaps for the next update. When a class is getting more and more excluded from parties (and frankly, I’m seeing less and less reason to blame them), there’s something wrong with the class. Ask yourself a simple question: what can a Ranger do that another class can’t do better? What does a Ranger contribute to a party that another class can’t do?
After the S&D nerf/fix, nothing. As long as pets continue to have such a huge portion of our damage, Rangers will never provide reliable, consistent DPS. As long as Spirits’ survivability and effects are a joke, it’s not gonna be party support. As long as our trait lines are all over the place and weapons like LB and GS remain in their current, frankly pathetic state, we can barely have decent build variety.
We’re still in the same, subpar state we were in at the start of the game. What has changed the past 6 months? We saw some buffs here and there. Hell, for the majority of changes, we received nothing but buffs, though some were more bug fixes, like (FINALLY) fixing Lick Wounds. The problem is that it’s not enough, minor tweaks here and there do not solve what is wrong with the class and sadly, it’s its very core. IMO, as long as we don’t get permastow and get the damage the pet does back on the Ranger, it’s going to be impossible to properly balance the Ranger for the High-end PvE content it’s currently being shunned from.
Like High-end GW1 PvE and PvP, the classes that get in a party are the ones with a) good party support (Imbagon, Panic Mes, Monk) or b) consistent (AoE) damage (Wars, Eles, Splinter Barrage Rangers, …) or c) Niche roles (Cripshot, Sins). In GW2, the Pet is a permanent part of the Ranger, and its biggest handicap. The Pet simply can not provide reliable, constant DPS, there’s too may issues, it’s dead, target is moving, target is shooting from behind a wall, etc… You could work around the lack of party support, you could even do changes so the Ranger fits in a niche, but you won’t be able to fix the DPS issue as long as Pets remain in the current state. And as long as DPS is the issue, well, let’s say our party support is going to have to outshine Guardian to compensate for that…

i agree with this wall of text, i reall don’t know why gw2 team is so disturbed by the fact that there was actually awesome game and blance design at Guild Wars™ , and now they are beeing kitten, not knowing anything about how original Guild Wars™ was built/balanced.
You could choose if you want an animal with you or not, it took 1 skill space kitten !
AND now, your forced that you get your dmg lowered/deduced by it…. okey some will still say “you can spec in BM and all will be good”, BUT I don’t want to spec in freeking BM, why is us rangers the only class we’re forced in something??!?
TO the changes part: wtf did they changed?? nothing much i would say….

I mostly play WvWvW
I see that us, rangers sux cuz that dmg limit (pet reduces 0-40% *idk what part of our dmg it really takes off). With that % of extra dmg i using glasss cannon modified build would kill most of others proffesions out there with almost no sweat. Rangers can still be good in some 1v1 situations, but if there’s thief or mesmer, i rather turn arround and run. Ofc it deppends if mesmer and thief is an experienced player.

Fact is, rangers are ok, sure they got broken traits and some skills (spirits). The biggest ranger’s problems are pets; either remove them or fix em, it’s not fair we MUST have smth that it hurts us (0-40% dmg taken away), while other proffesions got full dmg (100%).
They meant that pet is ranger’s best companion…. my rat’s kitten it is it’s a freeking pest for us.
Back to topic; yes rangers can be quite a walking lootbags if not carefull…

I for one have nothing against Xaoc comming to FSP. I mean they were organised and zergy when they were rampaging around our borders. One point is we- WvW community can’t always count on pugs, sometimes guilds need to pull the wagon too, and with time passing by maybe more pugs will join, perhaps creating a good wvw focused guild.
Let’s face it AoA is (for my opinion) only/single guild on FSP that has some/decent numbers of representitives.
And about them leaving; you can assume they’ll leave at some point, but till then we can still build the community up, meaning we don’t need to slack off and just count on them.
What i want to say is, you must think that Xaoc would mean some addition manpower and not a holdback.

Idk if they’ll still come here or not, as they’ve opened another topic just about them moving.
Anyway: FOR THE FAR SHIVERPEAKS!!!!!!!!

well, that’s directx 9 for you, with it’s single core optimization but hey, you’ll be able to enjoy directx 11 multi-core usage and it’s performance boost (about 15-20% for most people) in a year or two, when this game isn’t so popular anymore.

Mind you I didn’t even start that thread, I just replied in it and I’m totally ticked off. Forums are here for discussion, be it negative as it may, it still should be worth the same as the positive feedback. The reply and action the moderator took upon the thread is highly offensive to me and completely out of line to it’s community.

And besides, the mere fact of having a guide to enjoy your game and even forcing it on players that stopped enjoying your game is kind-of sad, don’t you think? And just proves something ain’t right.
I am completely disappointed with the behavior of moderators on the forum. I am a writer for one of the big mmo websites and I am seriously considering making a story out of this, so other people can see what’s really going on. Sickening.

Yep. I haven’t logged in for about a week now. Until they put something in the game that rewards your efforts, I won’t be coming back. Was some-what fun while it lasted. But leveling a few chars to 80 and then fully gearing them with exotics is just not fun anymore, it’s a drag. I caught myself repeating the same things over and over, day after day. The game is awesome for casuals, but not that great for more serious gamers, in my opinion.

I started doing this after seeing others. But I only do it sometimes, like when fighting a thief who does his perma-stealth kitten over and over.. I’m sorry but I don’t feel that deserves any reward. Same when invisible zerg jumps on me. I’m not going to pay repair costs because the game is broken.

Advantages to ALT+F4 strategy:

  • You pay no repair costs
  • Your enemy gets no badges

When you login back to the game you’re dead but a good trick is to be in one of the big towns when going into WvW. In that case you don’t need to wait for others to rez you. Instead, you use one of the waypoints in that same town, which costs nothing. There isn’t even a loading screen.

I sometimes troll people with this. When 5+ people chase me, I make em run a long long way then just alt+f4 I do agree it’s annoying when people do this while in downed. If it was up to me, I’d remove downed state from PvP entirely. If you’re dead, you’re dead. Why does the warrior have traits for faster reviving & why are there runes for this? Would be much better to see builds made to revive people and be rewarded for it than to have this terrible terrible downed state.

My guild put two things to build yesterday, Economy lv2 and Guild Stash, both costing us 1000 influence each.
Now the upgrades are gone from building queue and so is the influence. So basically we lost about 14 hours of build time and 2000 influence.

Fix this asap and return our hard earned influence!

good for PVE, terrible in WvW or sPVP. there should be a timer when you can be revived like 15-20s or you can use waypoint, when time runs out you can only use waypoint.
reviving time/hp gain should be a bit longer than current downstate.

You can do this every 44s or so, when QZ recharges. Also you need to take into account that I am a glass cannon, full crit damage / crit rate build.
Look at a warrior or a mesmer how fast they can kill the same monster, and they can do it over and over and over again, while we need to wait. So yeah, you’re missing a lot.

I used to be a full condition build using shortbow. It was some-what ok. Then I went all out crit damage and rate.
Must say this is very bursty vs. mobs and in WvW. With 15k HP I manage more then fine in any situation.

Random crit damage numbers

I’ve always wondered why I was getting different critical damage numbers when hitting a single monster. Thought it was the traits, but I eliminated that from the list, but the numbers were still different.
Weapon has two numbers of weapon strength, but the stats of my attack are a set amount and the number counted is the highest weapon number. Critical damage % is also a fixed amount, and I figure that the monster doesn’t change it’s armor in the middle of the fight either.¸
I’ve also looked at my attack number in the middle of the fight, expecting my attack to drop and rise, but it stayed the same.

I was hitting a lvl80 monster with critical damage ranging from 870 to 1080. Would that 95 difference in max and min weapon strength really make such a difference, or is there a factor I’m missing?

Can someone please explain this to me, cause I’d expect with all these set amounts of stats that the critical dmg I do would be maximum all the time.

I always find that just before our large keeps get hit on RoS someone seems to queue up a major upgrade…

Main keep in Eternal Battlegrounds hadn’t been upgraded for a while because we were slowly losing ground and knew we needed the supply to defend, 5minutes before attack someone queue’s up a waypoint and drains the supply. Happened all week, we’d take a keep and for 3 hours no one touches it, just as the invasion begins merchants or something equally unneeded are queued.

I’ve always just assumed it’s someone with a rather poor sense of importance but who knows!

Yeah I noticed that happening on our server also, always seemed a bit fishy…

What if lets say 10 or 20 people want to “work on a achievement” this way draining supply everywhere… imagine that. The achievement and the way of completing it was not intended this way. It’s a cheap and counter-productive way of doing it, that hurts the rest of the players. My gaming experience was hindered by their actions, and that’s against the rules. And I’m sure some other people feel the same, when they’ve spent their time defending and attacking just for some people to destroy all the hard work you’ve done and then go on forums basically mocking and laughing at people.

I would put a 200-300 gem transfer fee. That’s about 1 gold. As for the mention of this being a home server guild, which I doubt, I’d like to add that it doesn’t change anything at all.

I doubt they used badges, 1 print is 6 silver and you can spend lets say 60 silver each and you can dry out the supply pretty fast. And you can get those 60 silver in an hour or less in PVE event farm.

It’s not that they have boring lives, they intentionally did this to lower our supply stash in our garrison, so their guild & server can attack it and we have no supply to repair/build left. It’s sickening.

Any concept of a commander status being bought is a bad idea in my opinion. Having lets say the top 5 players gaining commander status every week with actually doing well for the server is just better, plain and simple. You can buy those guild commander statuses and be visible to your guild and squad all you want. But the idea of a person who bought a status that is supposed to lead is just, bad.

We could go further with your idea and say that for lets say 1000 or 2000 badges one could buy a captain status which would allow a player to be a replacement supreme commander when there aren’t any on the WvW map. Options are endless. Changes are needed.

First you need to be a good soldier to be a good commander.
With your logic, the 100g your guild trusted you with and the faith you received from them, makes you a commander of a whole server, wrong you’re a commander of that guild & squad.
I agree with the 1-2 month thing, should be funny when everyone is shouting “orders”, people asking “where the main commander zerg is?” etc. That’s another reason why WvW needs this.

@Rebound I think you don’t understand that massive groups of people are what’s wrong.

@Kazim Yes the blue icon is great, it would be very similar in many ways as is. This “supreme” commander would be visible to everyone, while the commanders like they are now would be visible to guild/squad. This would help the zerging problem a lot, since I believe that it would pull away the people who see the guild icon from the icon everyone sees.
The “supreme” commander could also make marks on the map which would be visible to these guild commanders, and so have multiple battlefronts and a real “guild war” as it were intended.
