Possible ANET logic:

Eventually all people will have their team chat bugged out, and since people with bugged chat can still talk to eachother, the problem solves itself!!!!!

  • I’m aware it hurts the mode to cram people into full servers. Like I said, some were on the host and some were on the link before the host locked. We aren’t changing the balance.

You transferring does change the balance though. The whole reason ANET changes the server links is to re-balance out the population. You switching from one link server to another to get back with your old host server changes the population balance on two server matchups, the server matchup you were re-linked to and the server matchup you want to transfer back to.

TL:DR If you have bugged team chat in WVW plz bump this.

Team chat is completely broken/bugged. I can’t see anyone else’s team chat. I know I’m not the only one with this problem because I’ve talked to two other people on my server with the same problem. The thing is, I have been able to communicate with other people through team chat, but only with other people who also have their team chat bugged. Everyone else’s team chat I cannot see.

This means I can’t respond to cross-map call-outs and TBH makes WVW kind of a drag to play. More importantly, without team chat I’m am no longer getting my USDA recommended daily serving of memes. Without my memes I have grown lethargic, my joints ache, and I have constant IBS.

I’ve attatched a picture to show my chat is bugged. If you look at the picture, you can see the “[T]” is showing in the chat channel, which means I have the “Show Channel Tag” option enabled. BUT, it doesn’t show the map channel (EBG,GBL,BBL, etc.) so clearly something is wrong.

My chat is still bugged too, and no response from anet. A really weird thing happened yesterday though. I was able to communicate through team chat with another person on my server that also has their team chat bugged. Neither of us could see anyone else’s team chat, only the team chat between the two of us.

Anyways, this is pretty annoying. Not being able to respond to cross-map callouts and stuff is real boring.

This just happened to me today as well. Every other chat is working fine except team chat in WVW. I don’t think it’s a client issue either. I have two accounts, and using the same computer and client, only one of my accounts has this bug.

I’ve pretty much given up on the idea of legendary non-pve gear.

I would be happy if we could just buy upgrade extractors with badges of honor.

Condi damage mitigation stat needed

Once again, since you can’t seem to wrap your mind around this notion, vitality does not mitigate condi damage. 1 or 10,000 vitality and you still take the same amount of damage per condi tick. The duration of condis has ZERO BEARING on this fact.

You conveniently ignored the second part of my post, because you don’t have a counter argument to it.

And on to your actual comment. You’re now trying to pass condi duration off as mitigation? That’s not how mitigation works Extending or reducing the duration and you still have the same damage per tick. Even if you had 90% duration reduction, 25 stacks of bleeds will deal the same exact damage to you.

Nothing that you have listed is a stat that mitigates condi damage. None of it.

-% Condi duration is absolutely a condi damage mitigation tool. Why you continue to ignore the “over time” aspect of DOT’s/Conditions is obtuse.

But since you want to ignore the “over time” aspect, I can facetiously argue that condi’s are perfectly fine because the per tick damage is nowhere near that of a power skill. You can routinely crit 8-9k on a power skill like backstab/arc divider/gravedigger, you will almost never apply a 9k condi tick on anyone.

But any person not being so obtuse will recognize that condis hurt not just because of their per tick damage, but that it can tick multiple times over a period of time. If you acknowledge that condis hurt because they can tick multiple times, you have to also acknowledge that anything that can reduce the number of ticks of damage a condi does (such as oh I don’t know, condi clear or -% condi duration) will mitigate the damage output.

No, you’re gonna get the core game no matter when you buy it with the way it’s worded. The actual pre-purchase bonuses are the special title and beta access.

Either:

- Existing Players get extra character slots where new players get the core game for free

or

- Make core game and expansion have separate redemption codes so existing players have an extra code for the core game to do with as they please.

It’s not really free, but rather free WITH HoT. It’s like buying a hotdog sandwich and getting a free drink, as opposed to buying the drink standalone. It’s an incentive for new players.

But in your analogy, you still get something for free. This seems more like:

Customer: I’d like one Hot Dog + Free Drink please
Vendor: Coming Right up Sir.
vendor sees you are already holding a beverage
Vendor: Hmm looks like you already have a beverage, so I’m not giving you the free drink.

So my friends that bought the base game because I suggested they get into it before HoT are now giving me kitten about this. I wasn’t really on their side, but then one of them linked me this.

A: Yes. Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is an expansion to Guild Wars 2 and not a stand-alone campaign, and therefore it requires the base game to play.”

I’ll admit that there is nothing in the hard, 100% strict interpretation of these words that explicitly refutes the idea that HoT and the base game could be bought together, but when stuff like this is posted and all your HoT announcements are timed with a sale of the base game?

I’m not even going to get into whether $50 is “worth it” or whatever, but any way you look at it this is pretty dirty marketing ANet.

I was going to make more or less the same post. Regardless of how you feel about the pricing, ANET having sales of the base game during major HoT announcements and then pulling this……..not cool.
