What's the point of soulbound armor?

I can understand having account bound armor, but why soulbound?

What is the point?

I have an armor set that I would like to use on another character. But I have to buy the whole set again. Why?

It should be changed. Maybe there shouldn’t any soulbound or account bound on armor.

I truly don’t see the point of bounding armor.

Could a Dev please example any reason why there is soulbound at all.

Fix/change the animation on the Asura when using Dragon’s Claw while moving.

When you start to move around and use Dragon’s Claw, it still does the upper animation part, but not the bottom, which means it looks like the Asura just broke their back and needs a medic. It’s very weird, and not suppose to be like that. Make the animation for the Asura when using Dragon’s Claw while moving like the other races.

The secondary weapon set swap should only be available when OUT SIDE of combat. It won’t make the profession OP in anyway.

It will make it friendly to switching weapons without have to open the hero panel, or double click when opening your inventory.

The engineer should have it added too.

There is an animation problem with Dragon’s Claw for the Asura.

When they are using the skill and not moving they do a twist, which involves the whole body.

However, when moving and using Dragon’s Claw, they still do the twist, but it looks weird, it looks like it’s breaking their back, and is very awkward.

The animation should be like the Human when they’re using Dragon’s Claw and moving.

When standing still and you cast the spell your little Asura does twist.

However, when moving, your little Asura does a twist, and it looks weird, like it’s breaking the little guys back.

Please fix it. It should cast like the Humans when moving not the twist.

I really miss the ability to talk to opposing players.

I have meet some people from whispering them or them whispering me.

Also, it’s getting difficult to get the opposing player to know you just want to gather, or duel them without their friends helping.

Or just dancing with them.

Since some people don’t want it, there should be an option for you to be whisper/whisper opposing player.

It will make both sides happy.

This is how this will work.

If you have the option turned on – you can be whispered from opposing players, and you can whisper opposing players

If you have the option turned off – you cannot be whispered from opposing players, and you cannot whisper opposing players

As for the spying argument.

Do you really think there isn’t already spies?

Typing out what they’re doing is the slowest and least effective way to communicate. They would be using 3rd party software (Skype, Raidcall, Team speak, vent, etc), or be sitting in the same room.

If this game is about creating a community or trying too, then why would you want to remove the ability to do so?

There should be an option to “Duel” when you right click on a players name. When a player gets downed the duel is over and the player you were dueling is no longer a threat, meaning they can revive you. Something like that.

Also, with the dueling system, you should be able to do party duels. I don’t know if this should be another option, but it would be nice to also have. This would allow 5v5, 2v5, 1v5 or so.

All players have to accept the duel for it so start.

An option to not display the duel option when other players right click on your icon.

Duels cannot take place in towns/cities.

This system should work outside the Mists.

Maybe even add this to WvW where you can duel opposing players. During this, only the player(s) that are in involved can attack each other. So, this means that you cannot attack the opposing side when dueling, and they cannot attack you.

Achievements for friendly duels, no ranking system, just some achievements+titles.

  • Wins before being defeated
  • Win %
  • Wins by profession
  • Professions fought
  • Professions won against/%
  • etc

More PvP Options

These should have a ranking system + achievements + tournaments

Gladiator type arena

  • open arena, no obstacles at all
  • 5-10+ players enter, one leaves, everyone for themselves
  • 1-5v1-5 death matches
  • (maybe) Literally an arena, where players can enter and watch the battle from the stands

GvG battles from GW1

Capture the flag (2-4 teams of 5 players)

  • the only way you get points is by your team holding the flag, and only one team member can hold it at any given time
  • your team can also get points for killing the player that has the flag
  • you get bonus points the longer you hold the flag?

King of the mountain (2-4 teams of 5 players)

  • one capture point that’s it, keep it for as long as your team can.

With all the Mists content people should be able to watch the match that’s taking place.

Any suggests, feed back is welcomed.

The battle for SMC was epic, lasted for like an hour. At times where was a 3-way battle.

That would be better, having the wvw badges like the karma or glory.

Also, you have 15 stacks of 250 badges of honor? That’s a lot…. I made around 1,500 or so, maybe 2,000.

Change the looting of badges of Honor/currency to auto inventory. The other stuff that is dropped can be in loot bags.

If your inventory is full then the badge is mailed to you.

When in big battles… like the one for SMC (TC, FA, and Yak) 29-Nov evening, there is no time to loot bags or you’re dead, or you don’t know where the bag are because you’re moving around a lot.

I don’t even know how many loot bag I didn’t pick up because I’m too busy fighting.

Are you the GODS d/d Asura ele with the affro? If so, kitten you chicken out HARD bro, killed you twice to zero, but lol you run away so much.

My Asura is bald, kind of gray skin color and has the helm showing. Wearing rampage’s armor for looks.

That’s one of the many things I like about this game, when the enemy is friendly.

I always try to not attack first when people are gathering, killing random NPC creatures (I even help depending on how well they’re doing), doing jumping puzzles, vistas, or skill points. I leave them alone, and if they attack me then that’s when I attack.

Some don’t follow that rule, but I still do even if I have been attacked when doing the above.

The two battles in FA borderland for Garrison was fun.. even though I was lagging and the enemy wasn’t rending.

Then the two battles for Bay. at the same time when the battles for Garrison were going on.

It’s a fun, close match up. I’m guessing we will be facing each other a couple more times before one of us either drops or goes up.

I’m on the FA server, an Asura d/d ele by the way.

Also, if anyone wants to duel me, 1v2, whisper me. I can always use the practice.

It’s a terrible mechanic for WvW. The speed they can be brought back up is stupid. You should be able to interrupt rezing them with plain damage and you should not be able to rally off PvE mobs in WvW.

This would fix the problem for everyone.

The people that like it, it stays, the people that don’t can interrupt the player that’s reviving the downed with plain damage, therefore the downed player will bleed until defeated.

This would also require more skill. It means you have to protect the people that are reviving allies.

Quiet Alphy, no one would ever get rezzed in zergs.

Besides, every class has knock down/back and if they don’t, they have pull or enough damage to significantly hurt the player and discourage them.

Using this is a strategic matter and a group matter. If the group ignores their downed players, they will die, if a group attends to them and the other team doesn’t prevent it, they will win, if the other team does prevent it, they will lose.

It’s about the strategy, and that is why Arenanet put in this dynamic.

What I think would solve it is if the rezzing didn’t necessarily go fast when more people are rezzing a downed player.

^ That would make everyone more happy.

I don’t think every weapon set or combination has an interrupt.

I know what you’re talking about, because when I"m 1v2(3), I focus on the people reviving and try to stop them, but I cannot always because updraft or earthquake are on cool down.

Also, wouldn’t interrupting the reviver(s) when taking plain damage add more strategy?

Are we ever going to remove the downed state?

One thing that made WvW more fun was being able to talk to opposing players. Now we cannot do that at all.

I’m disappointed.

I met some people from doing this…

By the way if you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s the “go to the report form, and you can get their account name, type /whisper, enter their account name and send a message”.

Wait a minute… WvW gets badges that drop from bags which you have to physically click on to get the contents.

Yet in PvP you get glory automatically for everything you do? Then why do we even have badges in WvW? Why not simply have ‘Mist’ points or something. Then we wouldn’t need this broken system of occasional badges (but only if you are alive to loot the RNG-bags).

I didn’t even think “Mist” glory points.

This would be even better. No more looting, just wvw points.

Chests can give you jugs that will add to your wvw points, kind of like the karma jugs.

Badges of Honor should also be earned through taking stuff too...

The wvw gear is both rare and exotic… drops from killing players happens lik 10-30% of the time it seems for me. Kill 30 people get like 5-10 badges or even less.

Yeah the the earning badges for taking supply camp doesn’t have to happen, but for keeps and castles, I think they should. Tower could just give you like 5 or so.

I’m not talking about getting 100 badges or anything for taking a tower. A low number like 20 or so, 50 max for taking a castle.

The auto loot into inventory is better, only if it’s just for the badges and nothing else.

All drops in WvW should be mailed to you instead picking them up. When you’re in a big fight, you miss most of the drops, or I do at least. Besides the chests of course.

It would be really nice to have a primary, secondary auto-attack system.

Some people use the auto-attack for skills that put boons on, then have to spam 1, for that attack.

So, the primary, secondary auto-attack would be something like this..

Primary attack would be alt-first click, the color could be red.

The secondary attack would only be used if the primary auto-attack is active, and the color would be a different from the primary.

Add an expiration timer for everyting on the TP

There should be a expiration timer on all the items that everyone puts on the TP. It will help with the high prices, and clean up the junk that isn’t selling, or that are listed from people that don’t play anymore.

the title should only be unlocked from a combination of all the WvW achievements. It has to be high too.

That way people have to play WvW and hopefully learn how WvW works.

It shouldn’t be bought with any gold, karma, or badges… you don’t have do WvW do get those.

Only WvW achievements can get you the commander title.

Also, add title ranks in WvW that everyone can see. Above, or below their name. That will give people more incentive to play WvW to get titles. The titles could be like military ranks.

Maybe even unlock different armor/weapon skins the higher you rank.

And the title system all together needs to be like gw1 where people can see others title without clicking on a person’s name.

Free Transfers Make WvW Entirely Pointless

Yes, end free transfers NOW…. the ranks aren’t real right now… their are spies in the worlds.

Losing servers will decrease in population for higher ranking ones. Most people don’t join WvWvW when we are losing, because they can just transfer to the winning server, therefore the ranking right now means nothing.

Stop free world transfers TODAY… then restart the ranking system to get real server rankings in WvWvW.

Have it cost 20,000 gems or something… that will make people really think if it’s worth transferring, or would it be better to make their server the best in wvwvw

Ranger problems? - Share opinion

I just leveled my first 80 ranger yesterday.

Most if not all of the problems have already been mentioned more than once so I will only address the ones that I noticed right away.

The movement of the pet. They should stay close to the ranger and behind, not in front, always behind. The ranger is the master not the pet.

The “hide pet” should also work in combat. Like most people said about the damage, just give a damage bonus or something when the pet is hidden.

Also, there should be a “Stay” command. This can simple be added to the “Return to me”. When the pet is close to you, it will change to “Stay”, when the pet is attacking or wondering around (not suppose to!) it will change to “Return to me”

Fix ranger's pet movement.....

I don’t know if this was posted before.

Please fix the pet’s movement, it shouldn’t be walking all around the place when you do. It should be tight behind and only behind the ranger. To the left/right doesn’t matter to me.

Right now, it runs around when I’m running in a straight line. Then when I make turns the pet goes all over the place.

The movement area of the pet when not attacking should be very close to the ranger at all times.
