How is that even a Meme? It’s just a comic.
It’s a meme because it is has become a commonly used put down (its assertion is vague enough that it can be applied easily by anyone).
It is a meme because it is on the internet and the internet has dumbed down the meaning of the word to be anything that is passed between people.
[Tired meme]
Er, you know that the ‘R’ word is also forbidden on this forum? You might want to scratch that out as well before someone gets cross.
But I will add this to the earlier post implying (I assume) that I am an effete dilettante. It has been a good day.
We once sat in west keep on FA BL and despite outnumbering us, they refused to take it back just because we were in there. We took the fight to their Garrison and they still refused to come out. It has nothing to do with winning or losing, it’s about finding good fights.
This is the best way to troll Mag. If they take a keep of yours, just let them sit in there. They will more often than not just leave after a while, and you know it worked because they come onto the forum to moan about it.
On a related note. this thread has seriously picked up.

Though it will probably all be gone by tomorrow. Oh well, there’s always next week.
I haven’t opened anywhere near 1000 coffers and I have already gotten 2 tickets and 4 minis.
Im looking for some wings though… I have been killing plenty of mobs all over and yet to have one drop for me. ;/
I have two sets of wings I don’t want but I have no tickets (after opening quite a few coffers) – care to swap one? :/
Trite? Do you own a fedora emporium, or are you just a frequent customer?
Is just like, eh, you know, like, you know what I mean, like… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRQijskAMp4
Basically, having an opinion is absurd
Not quite. Having a blanket opinion that does not consider my opinion as correct is absurd.
fixed for you.
How trite.
But seeing as you seem to want to put words in my mouth, please inform me, what exactly is my opinion on this?
Basically, having an opinion is absurd
Not quite. Having a blanket opinion that does not consider context is absurd.
I like how people assign a qualitative (and even now quantitative) value to an aspect of a video game based on nothing more than an arbitrary appeal to their own subjective sense of superiority. But then absurdity is one of my favourite things in this world.
The Gem Store armors are always come in sets.
Maybe that’s because no one ever complained about it before.
A status quo is only a status quo because people accept it as such.
Wat. No one likes fighting uneven numbers, but to be upset that people play consistently regardless of numbers is weird.
So it is, which was kind of my point.
All open field siege is lame regardless of which server is doing it.
So are open field zergs that stack to take on outnumbered opponents. In this case, two lames make a fight.

Seems like a problem across the board though…
I also can’t log in but I don’t think it is across the board. The WvW maps on MOS are still updating, so some people must be logged in.
Because you’re worth it.
I hope someone is testing this in spvp or wvw. If classes are considered different types, I am cleansing my enemies.
A more likely scenario in WvW would be cleansing a player from one realm when involved in a three-way fight.

Gah, I read “Going ouroboros is just a bonus, if you can kill the zerg by munching its tail first, then the head will lose power” and gave up. That is not Ouroboros. Misapplied fancy namage
One guy chasing the zerg sounds more like ‘chasing the dragon’ to me. I’d link it but Anet might not like it.
Umm, is it related to illicit substances? That’s the only thing I could find.
Yes, yes. In pursuit of sweet oblivion.

Looking at http://mos.millenium.org/na/ right now, Yaks is ahead by 10-12k, yet we’re losing 3 points in evolution, CD is almost 12K down and they’re UP 60 points in evolution….how the hell are we winning yet still losing, and how is CD losing and yet still gaining so much?
You can also look at this the other way and ask: if CD can stay within 10K points of YB, why is their rating so low? That is the problem with the old system; it would consolidate servers within tiers even if they were no longer a good fit for them.
While we’re getting some great fights with Kain and CD, I’m concerned that this first iteration of the new system will start to trend in the wrong direction, not bringing servers that are similar into parity, but creating more situations where matchups like FA/TC/SoS and DB/Mag/SI are more frequent and potentially even worse skewed.
The new system will be able to self-correct much better than the old one because the same rules apply each week. If a server drops more rating than it ‘should’, it will likely pick it up again in the following weeks. There will likely be some turmoil in the beginning and further unbalanced matchups simply because of the huge disparity in coverage between the top two tiers and the others but in the end what does it really matter? Without the new system, we (YB) would still be being zerged by Mag during NA prime and zerged by Kain during Oceanic-SEA prime. Instead we get a balanced match where CD seems to be able to check a lot of Kaineng’s SEA strength. Who would have guessed?
I saw a bunch of orangey-brown dots the other night in Ogrewatch. Turned out I was seeing the enemy. Looks like something is amiss with the dotage.
Mesmers can as well.
No, they can’t. They used to be able to with iZerker but Anet nerfed it after people complained, ironically, that this should not be something that only one class should be able to do. Now iZerker needs line of sight, just like everything else except Dragon’s tooth.
At some point you’ll have to stop using this broken excuse and realize that your server isn’t as amazing as you thought it was.
At the current rate, we are approximately 40,000 points less amazing than Mags. Is that an accurate assessment?
lil’ jat got suspended for too many infractions,
I was infracted in this thread for quoting the Duke of Wellington (something to do with scum) – I’m taking that to mean that they infracted the Duke of Wellington himself.
Dragon’s tooth. No LOS required and auto-targets if the option is turned on. Complain about it until Anet fixes it like they did with iZerker.
In the meantime, drop a fear on the eles.
XF is moving to BG.
Blackgate, lock up your karmas!
Hmm. What was so bad about that map image?
I mean this is NOT a joke question.
The map is really just a snap shot and doesn’t show the frustration felt by players facing those situations on a daily basis. Being outmanned and overwhelmed by zergs has been a pretty continuous affair for Oceanic players on Yak’s Bend.
The night in question we held at OL and destroyed their golems on inner but there were so many of them they just auto-attacked the door down. When they rushed in we downed many of them, but there were so many they were able to revive each other even when under multiple arrow cart fire, or, of course, rallied.
The point is, it’s a strange game mechanic that makes people not want to play the game because most of what they do results in frustration. At the moment, the only solution is to transfer servers, which is no solution at all. Why can’t they, for instance, buff outmanned players and siege who are inside structures or camps (the mechanic already exists for guild claiming); constant protection would be a good one.
Surprisingly with the 200%+ MF in Southsun I ain’t found diddly. Still have better luck in Orr.
I got a little man in a box. Can you use minis in wubwub? It seems the only appropriate place to have a little man in just his underpants following you around. If not, I’ll probably just traffic him for goldz.
Thanks for the info.
Seeing as we are talking about sigils, how does the Sigil of Battle compare damage-wise? If I’m looking at it right, 3 stacks of might would equate to (very) roughly 5 extra damage for each stack of bleed. It will depend of course on how many condition stacks you can apply and how often you weapon swap, but at a 20 second duration there should be plenty of overlap. I guess if you can do 20 scepter attacks in 10 seconds, you’d need to exceed 10 bleed stacks for the duration to even come close to base parity, although the might would also be boosting the power damage from those 20 attacks as well.

While it’s true they cannot both proc on the same hit, they up your chance for any single crit to proc from 60% to 84%.
Has this been tested at all, or is it derived simply from doing the maths? If the latter, would it not rely on the assumption that if the first sigil fails to proc, the program then checks to see if the second one does. If the program instead applies the CD straight after the first sigil is checked regardless of whether it procced or not, this increased chance would not then be the case. In essence, do sigils not go on CD if they fail to proc?

Dragon’s tooth does not need line of sight and as I understand it can be used to clear towers of siege if within its range. I have been told it works as the iBerserker used to – i.e., that if you use autotargetting and hit the skill, it will automatically target anything in range. If that is the case, you don’t even need to be able to see possible targets; it also means it should be nerfed because the iBerserker was nerfed for this very reason.
I thought the funniest part was watching them jump on people’s bodies after mobbing them 5 on 1 or 5 on 2 and then he said “and taking on even numbers, maybe then someone will be impressed”.
…laughing stalks…
Is he Sylvari?
But IF you want to anger Maguuma/ actually boast about wiping Maguuma, you’ll have to do it in a borderland. Otherwise it’s easy for us to shrug off the fact that you were in EB, where we have very little coordination.
Naguuman Directive 530: When posting on the forums, make sure to take into consideration the coordination and composition of the force you have just wiped relative to your force. Remember, it is of no merit to boast about wipings and loot bags if the opposing force was not of equivalent or better standard to your own. Boasting that does not follow this directive will be considered null and void.
No, I definitely meant Naguuma. But Mahuugema would also fit. I was there at Anz and saw it for myself. It was ENOURMOUS.
Don’t think I’d call us a zerg server for that alone.
Except no one called Naguuma a zerg server did they? If you look at the thread, I think you will find the zerg server ‘accusation’ was a passive-aggressive pre-emptive playing of the victim card.
So how many classes have range skills to hit something they cant even see? Just curious as this seems a little unfair to every other class in WvW.
Therein lies the anomaly. Not too long ago, people were whining like mad that mesmer’s iBerserker could hit siege out of line of site. So Anet fixed the problem, I think citing this very reason. And yet they left Dragon’s tooth which does the exact same thing and for some reason people have never complained about it.
By the way, if Dragon’s tooth works the same way as iBerserker did, you don’t even need to be able to see the target – all you have to do is turn autotargetting on and hit the skill, which will automatically target anything in range.
Every time someone posts this argument it blows my mind at how stupid it is. What horrid logic.
KN and YB lose after the weekend because their weekend warriors go back to PvE. Plain and simple. Mag’s WvW population stays the same throughout the week. ME, D|ERP, WaR, DFND, PYRO, NOVA, etc… all field similar numbers each and every day of the week. We don’t have an inflated weekend presence, and we don’t really have that many fairweathers. That’s why we always lose on the weekends and pull ahead during the week.
I agree that the assumption that players of x server have more RL responsibilities than those of y server has no evidence to support it. However, your alternative assumption that KN and YB lose after “their weekend warriors go back to PvE” is also lacking evidence and therefore just as illogical.
I can’t speak for Kaineng, but weekday WvW attendance drop off on YB has pretty much been a constant since the get-go. Given that it has even occurred in matches when we were winning, I doubt it could be put down purely to fairweatherism (players only turning up only when they are winning). I could be quite wrong, but I think a lot of YB has got to the point where we really don’t care about the overall score. So if you need an ‘f’ word to label us with, you can call me fickle: I WvW when I feel like it; I PvE when I feel like it; I log on when I feel like it. No amount of #magclag will change that.
There are mag that play on EB?
Yes, we just pushed them off Overlook.
But you really need to acquaint yourself with the last match thread to read riveting accounts of daring do by a Maguuman in EB. Fascinating stuff.
Need new cliches:
If it’s exposed it’s hosed
If it’s nude it’s pew-pewed
If it’s naked it’s stake-ed
Edit: Here you go, now with classy YouTube music
Interesting seeing it from the other perspective. I’m just a pug so I have no idea why people stalled at the far end of the bridge – should have just rushed the ballis and lord. (Although was the guy on the cart behind the lord a leg spec warrior?)
I’m a nameplate mostly skirmishing with an ele on the left (north) wall in the vid but I do have a walk on roll at around 3:44 after which I spend the rest of the time on the floor.

Cool. If I spot myself, I might get to cringe at how truly rubbish I really am.
We still won in the end, so going out those few times wasn’t that big of a deal.
So why no showy all the piccies?
But ditto – one death for me right in the lords room versus plenty of bags, so relatively speaking, I won too :P
Last night was a blast.
going to be an entertaining week for sure. I’ll have to level my Engi. Oh, and I think someone also recorded this.
That was fun (I can even see myself all red highlighty). Though the pictures seem to be missing a few between the first and the second where, despite someone saying in your chat “…I wouldn’t advise attacking them head on”, that is exactly what you did do.
Two quotes from the chat in the vid:
“I think we had more than 30 though”
“That’s their idea of discipline”
Not so sure it was [iLL] who were ill-disciplined.
Because I could waltz up to a group of 40 of your guys, do a couple emotes and just… not get killed.
Right?I said I went up to “some” players, not up to 40. To be precise, I walked up to two players with another three not too far away and the DB zerg recently departed.
A Fist necro (that’s YB, right?) killed me while I was alone, upleveled, in my cat tonic. You heard it here first, folks! YB kills kittens!
Different circumstances. Furries need a good Fist to show them what’s what (says the Charr necro).

When people play for points, that’s when it becomes a problem. When people play for fights, then you’ll find enjoyment in that. I know the fairweather players will just give up, but entire guilds giving up is no excuse, imo. I know [TG] will try to find even fights and engage the best we can. I know that we try to challenge ourselves with Alamos and play Tom & Jerry when we’re outmanned. There is fun to be had in WvW, even when you’re outnumbered. T2 will be great for our SEA. I don’t think it’ll be great for our smaller guilds.
The responsibility for this does not just lie with the losing server. I was on the other night when DB SEA turned the last keep green then proceeded to spawn camp the four remaining players with siege. Guess what? We all logged off and they then had no one to fight. So were those players playing for points or for fights?
Just before that I thought I would have some fun “even when [I was] outnumbered”. So I walked up to some DB players outside spawn and danced. A DB player started hitting me so I /cried and went /no without fighting back but he kept on until I was down – then another came up to stomp me like he was desperate to get a piece of the action.
You can’t Alamo with 4 people against 40 and when those 40 are so impersonal and humourless there is no fun to be had, especially when it has been going on for weeks.
I’m pretty sure they aren’t complaining about there being PvF. Between the humourlessness and the questionable literacy, I’m guessing they are more complaining about the quality, or lack thereof, of it.
