Unfortunately any decision on this front would be up to NCSoft (Anet’s parent company) to make. Anet really has no control over it; NCSoft is the one that has the game on the cloud servers that are getting hit.

If you think something should be done, please tell it to NCSoft, not Anet.

Anet would have some power here in suggesting to NCSoft that they need a change in servers.

This isn’t arenanets fault.
They hire server hosts like most/all MMO’s such as WoW. In fact I believe ANet may use the same servers WoW does. Basically the servers are very reliable and are popular. The problem is lately the company who hosts the servers for games like GW2 and WoW have been victims of large DDoS attacks. You can thank hackers and kittens who assist them.

The only thing Anet could really consider is having another server provider or backup servers? Either way it’s a tough call. We gamers just have to stick it out while authorities try to figure out who is causing the DDoS attacks

Basically I was having issues looting my fractal relics after each fractal for two days. It is currently working. I am very pleased but was curious if it’d be possible to retireve the 40 fractal relics I earned but was unable to loot.
(8 fractals over 2 days)

I was able to get the daily fractals, just not loot any from the chest.

Hey everyone. Been having this problem the past two days and on top of that i’ve seen this happen to other players before as well.

Usually after we clear a fractal level it awards you a chest with loot inside. I can grab every item but the fractal relic. I’ve lost close to 40 fractal relics after doing the two daily runs in order to get the pristine relic.
The relic will tell me it’s looted, but I won’t see it popup on the right side of my screen that I actually got it. I checked my wallet as well and it wasn’t going up. I was able to continue re-looting the chest and while i’ve had this problem before after 3-5 attempts it usually gives you the item. Well not this time. I held the group up for about 3 minutes trying to loot them any way possible. I walked away, relogged, and none of it worked. It bugs me because after 2 days i’m still having issues. I am getting the 20 relics from completing the daily pristine award. I am simply not able to loot the fractal relics from the chests. (i’ve completed 8 fractals since and am down 40 fractal relics)

If I could get this issue fixed and possibly get the relics that’d be amazing!!

I’ve seen many people talk about it. I have a set of knights gear but would invaders gear be any good? it seems to have quality defensive stats.

I love most all the weapons on the guardian I play but was looking for advice as per which ones I should use and when.

My favorite weapon is the greatsword and I plan to use that in either PvE or PvP.
Please give me a list of viable options for weapons.
In PvE I plan to run fractals, explorer modes, and world stuff.

In PvP i plan to WvW and sPvP.

My current two weapons I use for everything are Greatsword and Scepter/Shield combo.

I’m new to end game so I just obtained my first full set of Zerker exotic gear and was curious what else to run weapon wise.
I also have a set of rare knights gear for WvW until I can afford better.
What is the best set you recommend for WvW? knights or soldiers or what?

My traits for PvE are : 30/20/20/0/0
I will probably run this for WvW as well unless anybody objects.

Let me know just looking for friendly advice with reasoning to explain why!

I’m thinking about setting both me and my friend up with a full set of Rares with both Knight and Beserker gear. I think the Knights set will allow us some flexibility in both PvP and PvE. Then we can build both a Knight Exotic set and a Zerker Exotic set.

Which dungeons and paths are good for running for a Knight set and Zerker set in exotics?

Okay so me and my friend hit 80 together yesterday!!! Woot!
I understand the fundamentals of how exotic and ascended gear work stat-wise but to be fair I just started the game a couple months ago and I really just don’t understand everything. I find bits of info here and there but never the full story.

So here’s my questions:

Where can I get the exotic gear I need?

• Dungeons?
• Trade?
• Crafting?

Which Stats should I be looking for? Is there a guide? Both me and my friend are playing Guardian (me) and Necromancer (her).
I get that most people say for necros they need condition damage. Any advice as for a build? She likes using her minions but we might work on moving to newer spells now that shes 80 and no longer on the questing grind.
For my guardian i’d like to be able to do damage and take a hit.
So what’s the advice for builds/stats. Any guides would be extremely helpful… I just don’t know what’s updated and where to look!!

Is ascended gear worth looking into right away? Or should we focus on getting our exotics…. THEN grinding for ascended gear.
I was aware that ascended gear was only pieces like rings, amulets, etc etc.
But i’m seeing now there is actual Ascended armor pieces like chest, legs, feet etc?
Is this true and what are the ways to go about GETTING those ascended pieces?
the only method I could find so far has mentioned Crafting. Is this the only way? Just making sure because Anet seems to provide several ways for getting the things you want.

Next. I know everyone says get the exotics you need stat-wise.. then transmute the gear to look like how you want it to be styled.
I’ve been using http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/index.html to pick out armor sets. Are there more than these? It seemed like a pretty reliable gallery.

Next thing.

• What is the point of doing the dungeons on explorable mode? I get it’s harder. Any other reason? A list will be great. (I just want to know why i’m doing the things i’m doing haha)

• What is the point of doing fractals? An explanation of fractals and their levels would be awesome too!

• Is the heart of the mists gear only used in sPvP?

• Can someone give me a brief synopsis of WvW!!! I love it. But it’s huge and I feel lost at times

• PLEASE DEAR LAWD someone explain the mystic forge. It seems like an awesome way to either get upgrades or get rare designs for weapons/gear. But I have legit no clue and my attempts at using it are lucky, far in between, and produce pretty random results.

If theres a huge guide to this that is completely updated i’d love to see it. If you feel up to the challenge to answering every question i’ll send you my love and a reward.

So me and my friend decided to dust off our old GW2 Accounts and were back at it.
I’m a guy and my friend is a girl.
She’s not super great at games and I’m pretty good at most everything I play.
She LOVES GW2 though, so far. She wants to play a necromancer (i tried to get her to play something a bit more direct but this is what she wanted)
Most of the guides i’ve read have encouraged me to encourage her to try things. But I’m playing a thief and she a necro.
She’s getting better!

I had some questions and maybe you guys can help as she’s very specific with how she likes to play her necro….

She loves the staff. It’s all she wants to use. I tried getting her to Scepter/Dagger but she wasn’t into it. I can try other forms but she’s pretty set on just that Staff and she also has said she prefers ranged combat (hence why I haven’t tried to make her use a axe/dagger/ blah blah.)

She’s getting better at dropping her skills (were both close to lvl 15) and she likes her minions and using ranged combat.
I was trying to figure out … Knowing she prefers a staff what is the best trait line for her to level up with.
We put all her points into blood so far as I wanted her to have more survivability.
What do you guys recommend once she finishes that? Or should we get rid of the blood points and place them elsewhere?
She really just enjoys questing and finishing fights alive. ahaha.

So
Reccomendations?
Skills?
Traits?
Any weapon types you think she might like for a reason besides the staff??
I haven’t played necro myself, just done a lot of reading. Would really love tips.
We will try pvp later but I just want her to enjoy questing and possible dungeons soon.

I currently run it and they’d like to join me. The problem is their computer isn’t top notch… it’s also a laptop.
I did check the minimum system req. to play but wasn’t able to find a list of graphics cards to really check and see if my friends graphic card met the standards.

Their comp has:
Windows 7
amd a4-3320m apu with radeon™ hd graphics driver 2.00 GHz
4.00GB of RAM

On the windows experience guide it’s rated 4.6
My laptop runs the game great with medium settings with a 5.9
but i also have an intel core i7 and 8gb of ram.

Anyways I attached her comp specs as well in case you see something I don’t.

The goal is to see if she can even run the program on low-medium settings. We thought we’d take advantage of the game being so cheap right now!
